This was our only DNF for our entire Easter caching trip. We thought we were onto it once we realised we needed to go higher up to where there is actually a boardwalk - but we still couldn't find it.
We were going to walk further along the track to this cache but it just got too much for me so we returned slowly to the car. We drove around and found the other end of the track. M went up the track but despite looking hard he could not locate the cache anywhere.
Nice to be away on another geocaching trip with tmann421, travelling to a few places in the upper South Island.

Thanks for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to find!
SL **tm/ww NZ** (may just be a black smudge on the many wet or plastic logs)
*We searched for quite a while before finding another good cache still in place!*

I am not sure about this one.
We seemed to be about 50m from it for a long time, but a look at the map explains that.
What we found though was a pill container with an empty log sheet.
any way we signed that and moved on.
Thanks putting those caches there, well worth the wee walk.
Cheers,

A much needed, much wanted, and probably much deserved family break away for an extended weekend with hubby + our daughter.
Main purpose of trip was to relax + see some sights, but of course managed to find a few caches in the mix of that too!
TFTC!
Sorry excuse all the generic logs, but I'm so behind in logging that other wise I'll never catch up !!

Reading the previous found logs I figured it was still thereon spite of the DNFs and needs maintenance log and persistence paid off after a good search. Needs maintenance can be removed cache in good condition, log nice and dry. Thanks TwoSharpe

Found after along search with paddle chick cache in good condition in it hiding place .Thank for this cache TwoSharpe
I searched at both ends of the boardwalk and found nothing... I guess it has gone again...
It seems, that we are the first to log this cache online after maintainance, but we were not the first to log it on new paper... Since there were already several names on the list.
We really enjoyed the interesting track along the Water Race Walkway. And when we came here it was only a matter of "who has to go and try it". I went and I did it succesfully
It's a FP from us, we sure liked the adventure!
Thank you for the cache!

This took a wee bit of a hunt but got there in the end. I took the hint about he end of the boardwalk litterally, but when I stood back ans surveyed the area made a quick find. Part of a nice morning stroll.
Its a lovely weekend to visit the Coast. Time for some biking and caching, and driving home, after a whistle stop tour.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Locating this terrain 3 cache was rather precarious for a couple of geriatrics, but we managed it with a bit of a struggle. As andy.gail said, the lid is loose, but their replacement log was fine. TFTC
GPS took a while to settle here but we eventually got a GZ reading and cache was found. As others have said, bag and log were sodden and un-usable. We replaced log sheet (not RTR though) and then double bagged it so it should stay dry for a while. Lid on container has broken off though so may need attention next time you are in the area. We then tucked it in with more rocks to hopefully keep it a bit better than we found it. tftc
Family (In Laws plus Sister & Brother In Law plus their kids!) holiday on the West coast (Hokitika and Westport). Stopped off for a look at the lake and a bit of a play on our way down to Ross. Had a blast unsuccessfully panning for gold in the public fossicking spot on the river, had some lunch then had a bit of a walk. Walked ahead and had a bit of an expanding search here...track maintenance crew just below but all good. Eventually made the find once I got in the right spot! Log a sodden blob; sorry, hadn't noticed previous note so didn't have my waterproof paper on me! Replaced tin so it faced downhill but next person may want to bring a replacement (waterproof) bit of log paper! Right - now to jog back and find the family! Cheers!
Found but really soaking wet. No pleasure to search for that. Please replace the container.
Day 10 in Newzealand. Today we drove from Franz Joseph Glacier to Hokitika.
A very beautiful Country with lovely places. We were able to find nice Caches and See Lots of interesting places.
Thank you for showing us this place.

Followed the hint here and found the cache. Great walk and nice hide. Thanks again TwoSharpe.
Failed on a previous trip, but easy find today! Lovely peaceful walk in the evening.
In Ross with the family, Auntie has taken the kids swimming so M&B are off caching!
Despite several DNFs recently we thought we'd give it a go since we were here doing the beautiful walk in the rain. B initially spotted a likely location but the GPS was saying otherwise, so he dutifully scrambled down and had a fossick but no gold nor cache was found. M said the GPS was now saying a different location so off he scrambled but still no joy. Finally B headed to where he first spotted something and sure enough there was the green mint tin cache! Yuss! Log a little damp but still useable. TFTC!
(For future cachers, this cache is not close to home...)

Looked everywhere but no cache to be found. Maybe recent storms have caused it to vanish.
After getting the cemetery cache from the other entry point to this track, we went back to the car and drove to the other starting spot to get the last two on a there and back journey. This was the first. GPS had me at the wrong end for a while, but a quick find once that settled. This container was a bit rusty but still OK, TFTC TwoSharpe.
Day two of our trip to Dunedin, today is Hokitika to Wanaka.
We left Hokitika late, as Jo had a catch up date with an old friend. So a few easy caches around this town before we headed out of town around 11am. This didn’t leave much time for caching elsewhere as we needed to be in Wanaka as soon as we could. In the end we got there about 6pm, but not before cherry picking a few on the way.
The highlight was a nice walk through an old goldfield track and cemetary in Ross, a lovely little town where the locals obviously treasure their history. After that a few earthcaches and miscellaneous caches, but time dictated we could not indulge in more walks. We will be back. Thanks to the COs.

On our round trip through New Zealand we also passed by here. The logbook could be signed after a short search.

Ignoring the weather forecast we decided to head off out to see if we could find any mythical creatures hiding in the undergrowth on the West Coast.
After having a look round the village we headed off on the goldfields walk.
This was the last of the three caches we found while experiencing several different kinds of weather including a hail storm about half way round the track. Thank goodness for $2 shop ponchos.
This one took some time to locate and it was only after ignoring the GPS and doing a systematic search that we found it at the point of giving up on it.
Thank you TwoSharpe.

We planned some solid caching for a few days but the weather gods had different ideas. First thing in the morning we watched the rain come down in sheets and contemplated while having breakfast. The forecast was for clearing in the afternoon and we were going to take our chances. To our surprise it cleared on and off and we managed to stay dry for most of the day. I have to admit I never stopped in Ross having passed through often enough before my caching days. It was good to have an excuse to do so today and learn some local history. It was a bit of a grunt for these old bones but the loop track was worth it. We scanned the cache page and initially took the cache title to literally and were ready to give up. We walked the bridge one more time GPS in hand and thought it had settled enough for another final go. With an open mind I descended once more and suddenly saw something only a cacher would consider a point of interest. The rest is history. Back on the track we were just in time to don our ponchos and prevent a soaking accompanied with decent seize hail stones. Reading the cache page would have likely made it a lot easier but without the fun A fav. Thank you TwoSharpe
GPS jumps around a bit in here and initially we were searching at the wrong end. Perseverance paid off and finally found it

Placed a new container and moved it slightly. Higher T rating now but still pretty easy
Had a look at both ends but gave up. Will have a look next time I am down this way
Doing the walk, the opposite direction from last time. It's been greatly improved since then! Had a good search for this one, but think it's probably gone. The town end of the boardwalk seemed the most likely spot? Impressive to see the tunnel going through here.
Mum didnt have work today so we decided to go 'egg'ploring down to South Westland. The first real days caching we have had since last year. After we puffed our way from the previous cache I stopped to admire this awesome bridge structure and then realised this is where the cache is. Reception was bad and believe it or not I had 19m on each end of the boardwalk so we both took an end. The logbook (or few pieces of paper) was quite damp bordering on wet and was hard to write clearly but sadly we didnt bring anything else with us so if the next person could that would be great. We had intended to walk back the same way but didnt want to walk up that windy hill so walked back the longer way along the road to the car we had left at the cemetery. Thanks for the smilie
On the home run of our two week honeymoon in NZ. It's wet and wild with the Cook cyclone approaching so we weren't left with many options unfortunately but to take our time and do some caches along the way. In Ross the sun momentarily came out so we took a short walk around the goldfields.
Searched both ends and found it!

Having a short break on the West Coast. We decided to do the Ross heritage walk and really enjoyed it. Grandad made a quick find here once we worked out which end of the boardwalk we should be at. TFTC.
Its a 3 week expedition, with The Seagnoid and Zara, round the South Island. Rakiura Walkway, my objective, is bagged, so its homeward bound the long way round. Its day 20 of our epic journey - Fox Glacier to Hokitika today.
Loved this track with lots of interesting info boards and old mining debris. Snagged and tagged. Cheers

We also looked at the wrong end for the cache, but quickly figured out that it is possibly at the other end where we discovered it fairly quick.

During our New Zealand Round Trip I was looking for some Geochache. Today we took this walk track. A nice area. I could found this one also.

A beautiful walk through interesting history. TFTC Two Sharpe we will certainly Log This Cache with Beers_good!
TFTC in this location it is what helps make geocaching an enjoyable activity. Unfortunately after a good look around we didn't find the cache this time.
Looked for quite a while and even with the hint, did not find this one. The GPS does jump around abit though.
This one eluded me today. The co-ords gave me the wooden footbridge, couldn't find it.
After doing a heli hike at Franz-Josef Glacier and visiting the Kiwi information center today it was time to continue my trip further up the coast.
Like on the previous days I stopped for some caches every now and then. Many of them were at lookouts and scenic spots anyway.
This historic area about the gold rush was quite interesting to visit. I walked that little circuit but couldn't find this one. The coords were quite jumpy and maybe I wasn't thorough enough...

Found this little Chace coincidentally while our walk down the loop a few month ago during our trip through NZ Seems like there must be a cache...and so it is

I had not anticpated to take this long walk and log this one and the one before it, but because of the possible FTF-chances, I just had to do it.
This time, due to a very precise description and hint (thank you!) , this one did not take long to find and I could again sign my self as {FTF}.
And now, I decided to take the rest of the path round, and get a good walk out of if
