Found with Gummi_Venus. Log and baggie are soaked to mush so we hauled them out and replaced.
Soon at this one as the slow elevation(s) continued. Log was wet, alas I had nothing to help, added a blue mark and replaced.Last full day with Liv and Conrad before heading back home at Oh Dark o clock tomorrow morning, luckily before the storm heads up the country! mrs c and I headed out for a modestly short walk in the morning and grabbed 3 fairly easy caches, and we headed back out after lunch with our hosts to the Bealey Spur route, another 3 caches there before we turned around before the wind picked up, and the temperatures dropped down. Thanks to the COs for their hides.
Found it without a pen dammit - how could I ???? Sent photo to co and here’s hoping it’s accepted. Tftc
The first successful cache of the day, taking the family up to the hut then Point 1545. A beauty day on the track. Cheers
The two guys that pulled into the carpark as I started walking caught up to me here so I took the opportunity to have a drink while waiting for them to pass. Nice easy find thanks TwoSharpe

Nice place to hide a cache, just had to look up what a Kanuka tree looks like TFTC!
A whole day of hiking with Telesto, with treasure hunting stops in-between. Easy find, thanks!
Started looking too close to the track, once I stepped off it was an easy find. Lovely walk today, thanks for placing a cache up here.
Nice quick find.
Finished Cass Lagoon circuit yesterday so thought I'd do Bealey spur today to grab some caches

Second find of the day after spending the night with our camper at the Klondyke corner. Beautiful area, super weather so we went for a 4 hour hike at the Bealey spur track. Cache quickly found.
Yay. Happy to get this one after it going missing last time. Quick find with the help of the tramping club group. Find # 670
Out leading a day trip for the CUTC. Took the opportunity to try and get all the caches up a track that I don't take very often. This one had a group of us hunting. Was eventually spotted just before giving up. TFTC
A quick easy find with the good description as we made our way slowly up the hill. The first of several groups of walkers we encountered on this busy track passed us at this point. TFTC
Enjoying a hike with the EU crew up to Bealey Hut for the afternoon. Great views and an enjoyable walk. TFTC
We were staying nearby for a few days, so what better than a walk up Bealey Spur on a lovely winters day! Whats interesting is how much the track has eroded due to so many people using it. Hope DoC can mitigate some of the environmental damage. TFTC
We have come to visit Bruce and leave our calling card. Cheers. Great views today. Clear crisp morning and views for miles..
Monday today, and first up is Bealy Spur Track for the morning, then home via Lake Brunner and Murchison later today.
Its Queens Birthday weekend and The Seagnoid, Zara and I are heading out of town for a long weekend to Arthurs Pass, via Kaikoura. Had a fantastic weekend, seeing lots of new places, limestone formations, amazing views, awesome beech forest walks, but getting nowhere fast. Bloody cold at times with -3deg frosts but thankfully the snow stayed on the top of the highest mountains.. Enjoyed driving back via Lake Brunner, Murchison. An awesome few days exploring.

I do not know Iron Maiden's work, but I did know that one of their own piloted their own 747.
Taybeedragon and I are on a five day extended Queen's Birthday weekend. Happy birthday marm! The plan was to cache the Arthur's Pass route, from Rangiora to Lake Buller. You would think four days was enough to do the 211 kilometers, but we didn't even manage the 130 to Arthur's Pass village before we had to pull the pin Monday lunchtime for the drive back to Blenheim. But on the way we saw some amazing views, strange geology, weird amounts of ice in the puddles, ice on the inside of our windscreen - it was that cold. Caves, wonderful beech forests, rather a lot of bridge barriers and even a cache or few. And there was blisters, sliding down icy grassy hills on our bums (what fun!) and rather a lot of walking. Many thanks to all the cache owners that made this such an amazing trip.

Heading to the Arthur’s pass area for the weekend grabbing a load of unfound caches along the way
Finally the stars have aligned to get onto this track which I have wanted to do for years

Within the sound of a waterfall.... On our way back from the viewpoint (spectacular!) TFTC.
Lovely morning walk before it gets to hot,and hopefully this cache is one of many! Tftc.
As with the previous log, we found the stones of a cacher cairn at the base of kanuka. But no cache. Since it seemed clear where it was supposed to be, we have taken the liberty of replacing the cache with a pill bottle, new log and plastic bag, so that others may continue to enjoy it. We are messaging the CO in case they want to check it out. Happy New Year!
Today Trifolia Argentea and I took ourselves for a hike up Bealey Spur. Quite a serious walk, but it felt good, and the views were certainly worth the effort. Along the way, we collected a whole string of caches - with not one missed! An excellent day in all.

Bruce the man! Truly remarkable of what just one person can be capable of.
I also came upon these fun facts:
*Forced to keep his hair short as a result of his aviation duties
*Once thought of as the George Michael of heavy metal music in the 90’s
*Can often be found in the coffee shops of Chiswick, West London.
Maybe he is a secret geocacher too?
Cache was an easy find on our way down Bealey Spur Track.

#3909 We went up the hill with our kids and we loved the surroundings and the views! Thanks for the cache, greetings from Czech Republic.
Also found today on the walk up to the hut with students on the Postgraduate Certificate in Antarctic Studies from the University of Canterbury as part of a field training exercise. Lovely day for a gentle walk. Great to be here. Thanks for the cache.
One of nine caches found today on a day trip up to Arthur’s Pass with little sister. Great day to enjoy the countryside and snow on the mountains. Enjoyed an 80 minutes (round trip) walk up the Bealey Spur track to locate a couple of caches. Reasonably quick find. #1916. TFTC.
Had a great day out today up at Arthur's Pass with my brother geocaching, checking out the keas, photographing the majestic mountains and then we came here and hiked partway up Bealey's Spur but ran out of time to complete it unfortunately. Great spot here, TFTC
The second of 11 finds today (along with 3 DNFs). The three of us stayed at Dew Drop Inn opposite the Bealey Hotel on Saturday night so we could walk up to Bealey Top Hut on Saturday and explore Castle Hill Reserve on Sunday. As writing Bo&bronnie, Rincewind3, and Not Manly Jack on the logs was tedious (& a lot didn't have room) we logged as BRN. I joked that BRN stood for "feel the BuRN!"
A nice easy find as per the hint. I hadn't read the listing properly but was bang on when I guessed it was Bruce Stream I could hear nearby. No also pointed out Mt Bruce.

Found Iron Maiden 60 earlier today so I guess I missed 50 somewhere along the way
Today we decided to hike to the top hut. It was higher than we thought. On the way we found this cache. TFTC!
I scored a free night's accommodation in Arthur's Pass for the Saturday, perfect for caching and walking!! Today I decided to head up Bealey Spur past the hut and collect the caches along the way. Quick find after spotting the right location, thanks for the hint! TFTC!!
We fancied a longish walk and as there are some new caches along this track we came out this way. We made it all the way to the Hut and back. This cache was a quick find. TFTC.
Been a few years since I did this track so back today with the family. Bit hot when not in the shade. Made it to the top for lunch. Followed by a cold beer at the Bealey hotel afterwards.
Plans were afoot for a different Mad Monday Mission... those were dashed when CO contacted TG about these being published. I did a bit of a shuffle around with cachelet minding as Mrs TW was in Auckland. A few texts and phone calls later TG came and grabbed me at 5.15pm and we gapped it to the car park and headed up the track at 7pm on the dot. The plan was to turn around at 10pm regardless of whether we got all the caches and we'd only spend a couple of minutes finding the caches. We headed up and DNFed the first cache we came across and then found all the rest thankfully. We got to the hut at 9pm and got back to the car at 10.30 clocking up 12.5kms! We had the perfect night for it it was clear, warm and had a super moon. We even heard a morepork as we were walking back in the dark. Great fun. And back home in bed at 12.30am.
Great walk up here.
Thanks for the cache TwoSharpe.

Monday Night Mad Mission time with TheWanglers.. We'd already scoped out an adventure for tonight but when we saw a new series of caches published last night on the spur we quickly changed plans! A fun nights adventure. Picked up TW earlier than usual and we parked up next to the Track Head and set out bang on 7pm. DOC sign said the hut was 6km and 2.5hrs away. All told, even with stopping for caches, photo's and admiring the view we were at the hut by 9pm....then back down and at the car by 1030pm...and home by midnight. Passed a few people walking out, and 3 camping out up the top. Cool As.
Still some heat in the day and this initial stretch was hot going. Took a moment then I spotted the cache. Nice views down into the river gully. Cheers!

Today, we have made a short but quite tough 9 km walk from which the biggest part along 5 caches on the **Bealy Spur Track**; our route brought us 4 km quite steep up, through lots of mud, over rocks, roots and improvised bridges of wood logs in and over small streams; actually everything what is making geocaching so much fun. The weather was by turns rainy, sunny, windy, warm and cold. All caches were quickly found, even the last one [(GC65EY0)](https://coord.info/GC65EY0) at the turning point, which was a very sneaky hide, even for a D3. The views on the last part of this route are breath-taking in all weather conditions.
Besides the 5 caches on the track, we took another 3 close by along the West Coast Road.
Our big thanks to all COs for bringing us to amazing places.

Amazing views. But once here you have to continue for even more stunning views over a whole series of tarns. Tftc.
I took my sons and their friends up to Arthurs Pass for a few days. We stopped to do this walk because the weather was better this side of the mountain. I didn't see the 3 youngest boys any of the walk (15-16 year old keen trampers, they made it to the summit). My eldest son stayed with me for a while, he was taking photos. Then he walked on to the hut. I didn't make it to the hut but I made it to this cache and to the tarn area. The views were spectacular.

It had been a while since hubby and I had managed to get up and into the hills. I had a day off, and self-employed hubby managed to jig some stuff around so that we could get a much needed stroll of fresh air, and beautiful views!!
The day was just perfect for it! Lovely weather, sunshine, and no clouds for miles!!
So we decided to bag the hut here, and make our way to the summit for the cache, and even better views!!
However turns out that doing this at 12 weeks pregnant is a bit more difficult than before!! It was our first hill hike since the little munchkin came on board, and pretty much meant we made it in the DOC time - no faster - plus had to stop all the time for food!! Hahaha. But great to stretch the legs, and feel the fresh air!

Iron Maiden 40: Bruce. The GC code even has the "Number of the Beast" in it. What a "Revelation", it had not been found for 6 weeks. Time was tight, but this was a "Matter of Life and Death", I had to go and "Run for the Hills", if all else failed at least I'd "Die with my Boots On". I drove up on Sunday night, into the "Great Unknown". Up the track I ran, "Running Free" at the "Speed of Light". I had no "Fear of the Dark", with two torches in the pack and a long evening. I got to the GZ and "Out of the Shadows" I spotted the likely hidey hole. "Holy Smoke" it was still a virgin log! Another Iron Maiden FTF. Thanks TS, you're a "Trooper".
