Early morning drive down for a walk around Whitireia Park Reserve. Thanks SAROC for the cache.
One of four located on a Sunday afternoon walk in the area with two geohounds. Very windy with lots of wind surfers in action on the water! If you have clamber between and under gorse bushes, it pays to start doing so on the correct side of the track! Unfortunately I didn’t, therefore made doubly hard work of getting to this one. Not very pleasant vegetation at all! Came across the big, empty plastic container before eventually finding the somewhat smaller legitimate cache. After this one we turned around and headed back to our starting point at Onehunga Bay. #3232. TFTC.
Found this one second time round with claire.e.g and the geo doggo actually found it. We saw him sniffing at the flax Bush
After several dnf's in a row good to get this one. Managed to find a prickle way through just as some joggers went by.
talk about bush bashing, we back tracked a bit to get in but on the plus side while as GZ people came past and they wouldnt have had a clue we were there as we were well covered by the bush, at least the flax was easy to spot, thanks for the placement
This is my last cache walking in this direction as I need to get back to Onehunga Bay and follow the coastal track around if I want to get as many caches as possible and get back to Titahi Bay to catch the bus and then train them another bus to the airport for my flight home this evening. If you go another 10 metres or so into the bush from the cache there is a 10 or 15 litre sistema container with lid. I would have CITO'd it but too big to take as carry on luggage. Took TB. Thanks Mr & Mrs SAROC

Thanks for the cache! A few a scratches along the way but fun and satisfying for the kids.
Not so much a DNF as a didn't even bother looking.
I was on a bit of a mission today, desperate for numbers, so couldn't really afford to spend more than 5 minutes hunting at each cache. It was pretty dark by the time I reached this cache, and I could see that a certain amount of bush bashing through gorse would be required so just walked straight past and headed for the next one
Logging only as a reminder to come back and try again sometime.

TFTC!!! Tough find with coords bouncing all over but just followed our noses and avoided our second DNF of the day! Yay!
# 282 Mum is catching up on all my logs. So i would have found this cache with Gr33nslime at some point. Im only three but hoping that I have more found more caches than weeks alive! Thanks for the cache. i enjoy swapping all the toys!
Hopefully mum got this one right, she just published 40 logs that werent the right log! Clearly mum does not know how to use GSAK!

# 1655 Out on a mission with the DangerBOY today to pick up a few caches to help me along for the 35 required for the Mystery at the Museum Challenge. We started on the balance bike but after a short while we were in the pram, and boy that was fun to push around this track. A great selection of very cool cache containers - i think i will use up all my favourite points on this trail! Thanks to SAROC and others for a great adventure, that kept the DangerBOY amused for the whole three hours it took!
This was an interesting conundrum as I would have to leave the boy where i couldnt see him, while i bashed around for a bit in the bush. From the previous logs it was dubious as to whether I could find it... and i almost made the decision to pass....but of course i couldnt let a sleeping dog lay, so with strict instructions to the boy to not move, i ventured in. I actually found it pretty quickly just following the GPS and the hint... with the occasional call out to the boy to see he was okay... 'where are you''? 'here' 'where?' 'here with bunny'... oh okay. Great swag again, but this time couldnt share it with the boy... btw, still pulling gorse prickles out of my clothing... hehe thanks.

Walking around the peninsula, collecting caches.
Scrambled around for a good 15mins getting scratched by every gorse plant and prickly tree known to man! Gave up in the end.

A bit of scrambling through the trees to get this one. Had taken my son and his friend treasure hunting this afternoon. They were excited. One took a ball and the other a putter. I put in some trinkets to replace the ones taken. Signed log. Thanks for the cache
GPS and nature beat me. GPS kept bouncing and no one said anything about blackberries. This is definitely in the too hard basket for me.
A nice Sunday afternoon for a walk, and a plan to collect seven new or previously DNF'd or skipped caches in the area, This was number 7. I pretty much abandoned the search for this one due to the weather, and having now located it I am pleased I did. I suspect this area is significantly more overgrown now than when it was previously placed, and as a big guy it was quite tricky to make my way to the final location. Several scratches later, cache found - All safe and dry. TFTC.
Slightly harder to get to than expected but following the geotrail lead there without too many prickles or tickles. Well placed and well hidden . Tftc
Let fanfan-77 do most of the searching on this one... shorts and scratchy bushes not a good mix. Took a bit of hunting!
...think the surroundings of this hide have changed since it was hidden. Nowhere could you hit a golf ball more than 2m away around here!
Had a bit of trouble finding GZ, sveppi chickened out and just grizzled from the path. I don't mind a bit of bush-bashing to get to a cache, but gorse is not nice. There is a way in away from the prickles, but a dry day will be best. Followed lots of little goat feet trails, and eventually found the cache about 8m off, which doesn't sound like much, but in this environment every meter saved is a bonus.

Thought i had found the correct flax but apparantly not. Came away with some scratches
Found this in the flax. Cache is all good previous dnf needed to look a bit harder. SL TFTC
A cool cloudy day with rain in Wellington and showers expected here so not too many people around in the park this Saturday morning.
Didn't look too hard among the damp bushes.
Didn't look too hard among the damp bushes.
Out enjoying a night walk around the loop track tonight to get my hidden creatures numbers up. No luck here, but the rain was settling in and the ground was very liquid so I gave up quickly. Next time hopefully.
Took a while to find the right flax. I really wanted to make some swaps but Mrs JY (aka mummy) said no. TFTC
Found it eventually. I really wanted to take some of the themed swaps, but Mrs BY (aka mummy) said no. TFTC
When we arrived as close as we could get to GZ and looked at the clue we did wonder how easy this one was going to be. The area looked pretty wet, muddy and over grown.
We took a deep breath and trusted the GPS, following it into the abyss - actually it turned out to be way more straight forward than we thought, with only a little bit of pushing through the tree's required.
We left a pet rock - a bear cub.
Thanks for putting this here

It's the middle weekend of the school holidays and my kids are really starting to get a bad case of cabin fever. I decided to drop them at the movies in Porirua and come out here for some fresh air, geocaching, peace and quiet. My wife had the right idea and stayed home to do whatever she likes for a few hours.
The movie was scheduled for 116 minutes, and was to start at 1pm. I figured that so long as I was back by 3pm I wouldn't hear too much complaining.
My idea was to find as many caches as I could along this trail in the available time. It will help with my Heavenly Creatures count and might just get me a souvenir or two.
Being a very pleasant Sunday afternoon the track was busy with people and dogs. I had to be very patient with my searching. In fact I had to skip one early on because it was too close to the track and there was a constant stream of muggles traffic that made searching impossible. In the end I figured it was a good thing and, anyway, I might be able to come back tomorrow to find it.
This is where I used up the last of my time allocation. I really had a hard time locating any of the hint plants in there. But I kept on trying and eventually I found two of them. The first one was a bit small to hide anything. The second was tricky to get to from the angle I was approaching. However, it was sheltering the cache and I spotted an easier way out once I got to GZ.
The cache is in good condition. All nice and dry.
Thank you

Found a dead hedgehog and got soaking wet feet but unfortunately did not manage to locate the cache
After crawling around through needles and gorse we eventually gave up, it is very overgrown here, walked away with battle scars from the gorse
Had a good look around but no luck in spotting the original cache container. New one placed in a slightly different position. Coord's and hint updated

Maybe I am going blind two in a row ...checked every Karamu tree around I am sure this is used by more than geo caches by tissue paper around....I hate dnf's guess I will return one day
Must be blind as I could not locate this. Plenty of used toilet paper. Searched many trees.
Day 2 in Wellington on the bike hut road trail this morning now for a trip around the coast track some more great weather and some nice tracks
My friend BBear44 invited me along for a weekend to Wellington. It's a beautiful day for walking and geocaching.
A fun idea
Find out more about New Zealand's next big event [Oamaru Geofest](http://oamarugeofest2017.wixsite.com/geocachingevent) and come and join us.
Thanks. Mr & Mrs SAROC for putting in the effort to hide this geocache. This was find 5011 for me.

In Wellington for the weekend with the girls, one of them happened to be my caching buddy Nosynel , so what better way to spend a lovely sunny winters day than out caching in this stunning area. Had a really great day walking around here. Thanks so much for the smiles.
I know that this was near the golf club but after finding the cache container was surprised to find the contents! Thanks CO for the cache.
Found on our way around the loop track. Took quite a while to find this one. Came in from various directions, but got there in the end. Nicely themed cache. tftc
Thanks for placing this cache. After four days of persistent rain, we awakened to a bright sunny Friday and
decided to go walking and pick up some caches.
decided to go walking and pick up some caches.
Started my Saturday with a lovely walk around this loop finding lots of caches and enjoying watching the action on and in the water. Nice breeze and sun, so made for an excellent walk. Thanks for the caches.
At the suggestion of the CO, I went for a walk around the Onepoto Loop Track late this afternoon. When I opened the container I had to laugh at the theme of this cache - it helps answer the question from Linke's cache (GC2P4Y2). +FP for that. *TFTC SAROC #116*
Begins our holiday in NZ in Christchurch, we came from Italy to find our son who lives there for two years.
After ten days spent in the 'island of the south stopping at lakes in Dunedin in Oumaru and be returned to Chch, we decided to go north to the island with a flight to Wellington, the idea is to relax a few days between the sea and the beach course cache, unfortunately we will take four days of rain and wind, impossible to take to the beach.
But we'll make with the cache.
They expect historical cache but especially the GC46 one of the few positioned in May 2000 still alive, among other things, the oldest of NZ.
Today we decide for this trail, day with the wind and rain but not enough to stop us, nice walk in a very nice environment
Greetings from Italy

This was the forth one and I was about to give up when I choose a different approach and found it finally - thanks

Quite a few caches seem to have appeared around Whitirea Park since I last cleaned the area out, so the time seemed right for an expedition. It turned out to be a very pleasant wander around the loop track. Last time I came through here the track didn't exist, you just pushed your own path up and over the hill through the long grass, so the civilised track today was quite a treat.
Thanks for the excuse to visit this trail. A great day out with Yeetrees.

I laughed when I opened this generous sized container - great theme! A favourite for this one and for this excellent series too. The caches are well maintained with an amazing range of fun containers. Thanks SAROC.
#2562. Well today is the day Team GSEL acquired our diamond badge for filling in the 366 day grid (which has taken just under two years). Its also my daughters birthday today and as we are going out for a meal tonight, I thought I had better make sure I have the daily caches sorted out in advance. So decided on doing only a half day at work and having the other half off to get a few caches done in Whitireia Park. This one took me a little while to find as I read too much into the title and went off on a wild goose chase. Finally stopped to read the entire description and soon homed in on the cache. Nicely presented cache in theme. Well done. Signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for hiding it here.

Easy find on a MTB trip around the coast. Need to get the greenkeeper to do his job as my game was definitely off in the long grass and wind !
Gets a favourite for staying in theme.

Had a great walk with redsoxbean. Enjoyed grabbing some interesting caches =) TFTC from Pennsylvania, USA
Out for a walk with Loth completing the caches on the loop trail. On holiday from the USA. Nice series of caches and we appreciated the diversity of hides and containers. Tftc!
Having just come over the saddle and knowing what was nearby, I had an inkling of what the theme of the cache would be. Because I came this way I also took a wrong geotrail and found myself in a spot of bother. I headed back to the track and moved along. Found another trail and soon found the nicely-sized cache. Always good to see these container types. TFTC
Good gracious! I love the container...it makes me feel like home on a day when I was feeling a bit homesick! This was the 2nd cache I have been out to get with a baby in tow and I didn't realise how difficult it could be. You may be surprised but muggles really look at you funny when you emerge from the bush with a pram and even funnier when you attempt to leave the pram on the trail...no no this is just not possible! AND then of course I forgot my pen!!! Baby brain is real and unfortunate! So this cache, I could see baby, could get the cache and there was a pencil...WINNING! Thank you! I needed this and the last one! It was a beautiful day for a run/walk anyway. I'll be back for more and much more prepared. Thank you thank you thank you!
Brilliant Queens birthday walk in the park. Rare event with all the family joining in. After a bit of hunting found it. TFTC.
A Whitireia Park ramble on an astonishingly mild autumn Sunday afternoon.
Now for some inland time.
A straightforward find. More extensive effort to create an in-theme cache. Appreciated.
Cache in order; log signed, all then safely re-hidden just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too

Surprisingly busy on the track. Had to stand there pretending to look at my phone while a few muggles passed. Lovely day, the wind was warm! TFTC!
It's a gorgeous day. What better to do than a hike around the headland picking up caches as we go? Sorry about the recycled logs - at least it's environmentally friendly!
After looking across the water I decided it was time to go for walkies and sign off a few caches.
Cheers for the cache.
