Morning walk. Thanks for the hide.

07-Apr-23
I've searched here before with no luck but today I spotted something soft very quickly! Maybe it was more well hidden last time. I tried to tuck it a bit further back in the same spot but it's still fairly visible if you look in the right place with your sunglasses off! Very cool cache and enjoyable bike ride today.

07-Mar-23
Amazing cache!!

07-Mar-23
Nice day for a bike ride TFTC

30-Nov-22
An unusual container on a sunset walk with OSC and a funny dog. TFTC!

30-Nov-22
FP just for for the container. I was little worried about what I was pulling at. Found with Wisco Bryo and Hugh.

29-Sep-22
This had me chuckling!!!

A fairly easy find thanks to the hint and my phone GPS actually cooperating for once.

The cache is holding up well and the log safe and dry.

Thanks for placing this cache Busy paws, I love your sense of humour and creativity, especially the "song" caches.
A fav from me!

p.s I was distracted while signing the log and put the wrong date- realised when I was halfway back to the car
I think I did the same on the other nearby cache too

10-Jul-22
Finally turned the blue face to yellow! You have no idea how many times we have searched for this and today I spotted it straight away! Yee has! Tftc It’s a fave point from me!!

25-Jun-22
Spotted something out of place, that fell to earth after being poked with a stick; TFTC

04-Jun-22
Jeebers...ANOTHER great ChCh day to get some in and keep the numbers ticking over. Took a while to get to the spot..I think the nearby wires were fiddling the GPS. Then there it was. Gotta say, probably looked better on whatever it came off! Cheers

10-Apr-22
Clever, enjoyed this one

12-Jan-22
Having altitude issues- well above my head height. But excellent none the less.

08-Jan-22
Quick find but took me a while to pluck up courage to touch it.

05-Nov-21
Cache had taken a tumble from head height to GL. Fortunately sharp eyes in the caching team spotted a furry object that Dame Edna would approve of in the zone of GZ. After a quick but careful investigation, the ID was confirmed and the log in hand. Cache restowed at head height. TFTC.

08-Sep-21
level 2 all safe to cache now.

21-Aug-21
Lockdown. No caching at the current level!

11-Aug-21
Great hide... 3rd time lucky...

26-Jun-21
Another cache along my new bike testing route. I realised I have been here before, a long time ago, but obviously didn't log a DNF at the time. Was about to give up again, when I decided to reread some old logs, one of which gave me a good hint - more light, which I thankfully had. And there it was. TFTC.

06-Jun-21
Fun find.

Found on a dog walk. Finally!
Been trying to find this one for years now!
Have logged 2 DNFs but I'm sure I've tried this like 4 times or so.

Determination paid off this time. And coming here on a bright sunny day rather than at night definitely helped too. The colour blends in pretty well and it wasn't easy to spot the hide even now. A nightmare in dark, escpecially considering the limited angles of viewing. But I got it now! Softly it came, softly it keeps its slumber.

Kia ora! Paldies!

Took a solid hour but it's definitely there! tftc.

17-Feb-21
Discovering this walkway and hoping to find some caches along the way. This one gets a fave from me.

07-Feb-21
Woohoo found fluffy butt! Love the fashion

05-Nov-20
Was keen to try for this after reading description and log....
Had a peaceful hour hunting...will be back another time...maybe with sharper eyed geo mates.
Will listen to this song when back home in Auckland tonight....
Thanks.

04-Oct-20
Found it Smile

29-Aug-20
We did this walk 3 years ago, and on that occasion found all the others on the route, but not this one. Today, having found other Busypaws' caches on the slopes of the Heathcote Valley we decided to returned. Today it was a very quick find. Very different to our earlier visit. TFTC Busypaws!

Back in the big city for a few days and have a date with low tide later in the day so decided to park up and go for a wander ....

Wasn't in a rush so had time to spend on this one ,came at it from both angles ,took my bag off prepared for a long search then voila there it is nicely done gets a fav from me... Good place to sit and have lunch

Third time lucky. Tftc

24-Oct-19
Found Dame Edna in there!

12-Oct-19
So happy to get this one. Very well camouflaged indeed! My vegetarian daughter wasn’t too pleased with cache containers but all good! TFTC

16-Sep-19
Took a while. Well camouflaged .TFTC

11-Sep-19
Next day on knee recovery walks, I spent ages looking for this, probably not so good for my knee but determination kicked in - as I knew it would be well disguised and indeed it was - brilliant fun to find. Nearly got muggled by kids, pretended I thought I had dropped something - You know the line ' Mum that tree has legs" line. Waited and came back - they got distracted by nearby swing -fab walk, fab find

18-Aug-19
Quick and easy find. Although no one wanted to touch it!! Ekkk

23-Jun-19
Out today to check on this one due to several DNF's. Coconuts3 were with me. It took 4 of us about 15 mins to locate "softly" only because it had been moved from original placement.
Put in it's original position, it's still a tricky hide, but not nearly as bad as we found it today. With king tides and recent rain, this place will be difficult to access on the odd occasion = see previous log/photo, however, it's ready now for the next cacher.

23-Jun-19
Out for a lovely day with busy paws. We wanted to find this and boy oh boy did four of us spend some time searching. Seemed we had been here for ages when I spotted something not looking right after Mr Coconuts had cleared away a'lot. Picked it up and YES it was softly WOW. So happy we get a smile here and busy paws very happy to see it was here all along. Will give a fav from us. Thanks for bringing us here and the cache busy paws.

16-Jun-19
No luck possibly because the water is too high?

30-Mar-19
Couldn’t find this one.

17-Feb-19
I'll be back. I enjoy a good hunt. And the CO has already provided this

10-Feb-19
I thought no I officially give up on this one, spent an hour here today and have tried several times before. ️

12-Jan-19
Spent waaaay too much time on this one! Got lots of scratches and a few knocks to the head poking around looking for it. Grabbed all the others in the area and came back to try again. Mo luck

24-Dec-18
Found today, after searching here before I got a clue from the CO and made the find super speedily. I was reluctant to pick it up but all was well and I left a TB. TFTC!

11-Nov-18
Persistence on the return walk paid off.. very clever wee hide. GPS was spot on TFTC. #596

11-Nov-18
Had two attempts at this while doing others... very clever hide.

16-Sep-18
Had a good look around but too tricky for us. We will be back another day. Thanks

01-Sep-18
This one took a while, going back and forth, the bike helmet saving my head from quite a few knocks under there. A lot of choices but there can be only one geocache. Ah ha, that looks a bit out and so it was because there was the cache. Softly indeedly. Cheers

18-Jul-18
Most excellent! Took a little while to locate, but Mrs pwh29 managed to put her hand on it! Gets a favorite from us! Tftc.

20-Jun-18
DNF
Second time around, still no find. We keep coming here at nighttime though. Got to make sure next time is in daylight.

#3,236: Soft Smiley!
What do you do when the wee ones want to go ice skating, and you don't, and you have two hours to kill? Throw the bike on the back of the car, and come out to cache! Had a nice day out riding this track.
This one took me a wee while to put my hand to. Was also startled by the, um, "container", but this is NZ, not the US, so no worries! Fav point from me.
SL/TFTC!!

23-Apr-18
DNF'
Came here at nighttime - probably not the smartest idea if we wanted to find this. At least dog had a good time.

29-Dec-17
Creepy thought it might have been alive!

22-Nov-17
Went to have a post winter check on this one, especially after the rotten weather we had, and a recent DNF. It's there safe and dry, just a bit of log discolouration. I have increased the D rating,- - - pretty tricky.

19-Nov-17
Been looking twice. No sign

30-Jul-17
Didn't find it here today, I have searched here before with no success either - this seems to be one of those caches I can't get my head around

Pretty hidden, I've been looking for a long time. Smile

Looked for this on my way along the track from Ferrymead end but no luck. Walked on to next cache, found that one, stopped and read a few logs and decided to go back and have another look. Success!! Love the container. Cache and log dry. Only problem here I was so excited finding this., I forgot to go on and find the last two along the track. Another day. TFTC

18-Jun-17
Can't find this one

18-Jun-17
I have decided to fall in love with Christchurch. After waiting for the city to come up with ways I could embrace it, I realised it was time for me to take some steps instead. And what better way to do that than finding a few caches and exploring the area! To that effect, I left the house nice and early while the temperature was still well below zero, and set off to find some in town before continuing on a walk or two of some sort. This was a great choice for a walk, with a few caches along the way. I am glad I looked for them on the way there rather than back, as it got quite busy! Obviously good spot to be on a Sunday afternoon, people, bikes, dogs ad even horses! I almost needed a paf here Razz TFTC!!

07-May-17
My daughter made me go for this one, while she sat safely on the sidelines! Tftc

Baby girl was finally feeling much better after her cold, and I was going crazy from not caching enough Razz So off we went to go for a walk, get some vitamin D, and find some caches - maybe including some op shopping too.
This was the walk we did - and lovely perfect weather for it! Nice to finally be able to hang out with the sun!
It was pretty peaceful here today, and I managed to find all 5 caches.

Took quite a while here - the colours were all the same and blended in so well! But as soon as I spotted it, I knew that would be it - but agree about the eeek factor when picking it up!!

TFTC!! Smile

20-Apr-17
Tftc!!! Great hide... log a little wet... bit scared at first.. thanks for bringing us here

22-Mar-17
Really nice cache. FP. Found well below head height. I love the way caching brings me to places I'd otherwise not visit. Log dry, surprisingly. Quiet apart from buzzing power lines and the odd seagull. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. BJ25.

25-Feb-17
Back for another attempt with some more eyes this time. Spotted by muggle Dad. Great cache and we also really enjoyed the walk today with heaps to see. Nearby horses were very friendly. Tftc!

17-Feb-17
Down from the north currently to see my elderly parents in Christchurch and we popped out for a walk this afternoon, and naturally to collect a few smileys along the way. A pleasant walk and enjoyed these caches, - this one took me a few minutes to find, but it's clever. Scores a favourite from me, TFTC Smile

16-Feb-17
TFTC. First time wandering along this track to the end. Very nice to have 4 caches to look for. This one was definitely the favourite.
Had to hunt for a bit and once spotted it knew I was in the right place - still somehow felt a reluctance to pick it up. Made me laugh.
A favourite point from me.
Thanks busy paws for the cache and the great laugh.

12-Feb-17
Love it. Very apt cache. Reminded me of a couple of others I've found of yours such as the Donald! I need more FPs! Your caches deserve them. Thanks for this great hide.

11-Feb-17
Took a few moments to find and I gingerly touched it just it case it wasn't the cache. Great cache and I managed to keep my feet dry.

03-Feb-17
Clurbee had already found this one so she left me to it. A bit of searching around and Mr B said there is something different there, I'm not touching it! In I went and a lovely fuzzy feeling came over me, I've found it! Amazed how clean and dry the cache container was. Signed log and replaced as found. Favourite point awarded.

21-Jan-17
A nice wee afternoon wander got me to this GZ and a short search spotted me a suspicious looking item. Cache found. Thanks for the cache.

21-Jan-17
Having just managed a FTF at Stumpy decided to look for the other caches on way back to car. Thank goodness the tide was still out and the ground was solid underfoot. GPS took me straight to it and loved the container. This was another bonus find before heading to see mother.

10-Jan-17
As I said in my DNF log almost a year ago - it must have been right in front of me the whole time - and considering where I found it today, I think that would be pretty spot on. Reasonably humid day today, seemed as good of a day as any to take my friends dog for a walk - he loved crashing through the bushes on the edge of the estuary. Pleased to finally get this one off my DNF list. TFTC (3368)

19-Nov-16
Nice one!!! I'd had one look, spied something suspicious and was ready for tree climbing/rambling!! I know, I'd read the hint, and still thought head height, I might climb! Fortunately, I wandered to the end of the track and upon returning and was much more sensible about it where I was looking!! GPS pretty jolly accurate:-) A very suitable #400:-) TFTC!

10-Nov-16
Something gross about this... with cab165

09-Nov-16
Found with odgersaj when he was doing 100 in a month! Signed the log back then but didn't do the online bit so logging now. Thank you!!

Find #2659. Taking a short holiday in Christchurch to explore the city by bike and collect caches. Day three and 65km down the Avon and back up the Heathcote, collecting 29 caches. A great ride!
I wasn't confidant of finding this one but the tide had retreated enough for the ground to be reasonably dry, and just managed to be in the right spot to see the cache. Wasn't sure what is was so poked it with a stick first. Great hide! SL TFTC

01-Oct-16
Found it but Sevren grab the cache for me .tftc

01-Oct-16
Spent quite some time here on our walk around the track to the 4 caches we had to find with no luck at first so continued on to the last in the line and came for another look on the way back. After a good search the first time in was Chelzea who finally spotted something she was unwilling to touch so I retrieved the well hidden and cute cache. More chest height for us. Glad to tick this one off.

21-Aug-16
We headed out early afternoon for the Heathcote / Ferrymead area to look for some caches - our mission was to turn today into a least a tensy day, and we easily achieved that target.
This one took forever. My GPSr was not helpful, but really there was just one area it could be hidden in so we searched there. At first we were looking for the wrong sort of hide but after reading through some logs, changed our search focus.
We had decided to give up and have another look on our return journey when I had one last look, a little lower than I had been looking, and bingo! There it was in its little nest. Cool!!! Blends in really well with its surroundings.. TFTC.

21-Aug-16
#12925. This one took a lot of finding. In the end Troodles' persistence paid off. TFTC.

18-Jun-16
Searched for about 20 minutes before junior cacher lost patience so we'll have to try again next time.

07-Jun-16
7356. We walked around this area a few days ago to check the lie of the land, but had no GPS or cache information. We did find two others by intuition and guesswork, but not this one! Today we had information and a GPS so expected a quick find - no way, almost thirty minutes of searching! Read the hint, but no real help (wrong height for Rodney!). In the end it was a chance touch that revealed the container. Now, reading the logs, it all made sense. Thanks for the cache and the exercise. Rodney and Iris.

04-Jun-16
Very cute and fuzzy TFTC

02-Jun-16
Walked in and checked our Hidden Pathway cache and decided to fit in three more along the track before it got dark. No GPS, no map, no hints, no descriptions but managed to find two out of three by using the rule about distance between caches and pacing it out. This one was the DNF. Once I got home and looked at Google Maps I could see why my pacing out method hadn't worked! I will try again another day - possibly with a GPS!! Thanks. Rodney.

25-Mar-16
Haha nice cache, could certainly give people pause for trepidation!!! Quickly found, fav point from us

13-Mar-16
50% of the team were a bit scared by this cache, but of course you try everything for a smiley. And got it. TFTC

10-Mar-16
Took a moment or two to find the lair. Love the container. TFTC.

10-Mar-16
Took longer than a D2 had any right to take. It turns out I attacked from the right direction initially but having not spotted it I tried another angle. At one stage I thought I'd spotted N!mrod's dead possum but it turned out it was a rabbit, spine and all!
Kept searching and eventually ended up back where I started and saw the unusual object Tim mentioned. By this stage the cache container held no fear for me!
No sign of the TB inside.
TFTC Cool

07-Mar-16
Not putting my hand in there!! so Womble Terry did the brave honours.Clever hidey Hole..TFTH

26-Feb-16

20-Feb-16
Out for a Sunday walk. Cache in good order. GPS- good. TFTC

20-Feb-16
The possum is alive and kicking 1st find in NZ TFTC Smile

19-Feb-16
Spent better part of an hour looking around the area. Found the dead possum, but no cache... Must have been right in front of me the whole time... I'll blame the heat!

08-Feb-16
It really is soft & fluffy

08-Feb-16
Awesome spot. Pretty lucky find. Did scare me a touch. Nice find cheers
