Schne Idee, sehr schn gemacht! Vielen Dank frs Legen und Pflegen!
Visited Toohey forest for a morning walkAnd noticed the two earthcaches. The rain held off and we had a nice walk enjoying the bush scenery. TFTC
Out to collect some Cosmic Quest points on this International Geocaching Day with Legend WTGT and ILTW. Nice day for it.
Our mission today is to complete a series of earth caches on international geocaching days. Out with legend and sniggypop exploring some south side places.
Out with Muggle65 for a smiley today. Loved the view from GZ. Thank you for guiding us here
Firstly I loved a Tingalpa Formation named cache hiding in the Toohey Forest Park area. Always an informative learning experience.
Not willing to tackle the morning peak hour traffic, instead decided on a stroll around the Hibbertia Track, at Toohey Forest. Some interesting geological rock formations were sighted in and around GZ. Thanks for bringing me to this location and broadening my geology knowledge. On a mission to Plug the Gaps in my 366 calendar and finding this cache has plugged a necessary gap that needed filling.TFTearthC. Answers sent to CO. In Brisbane for the weekend with steeba as part of our annual pilgrimage for Magic Round. In between games we were able to get out and find a few caches in the greater Brisbane area.Had a lot of fun finding these caches. Thanks Answers sent to CO by steebaTFTC
Up in Brisbane for Magic Round (and of course caching!)- bit of touring around to different parts of the city.Always good to go to a different area and learn about the local geology.TFTEC!
That was a great heart-starting walk, nice to see the layers in the rock too. Answers sent, thanks for my early morning walk.
Working my way through a challenge cache on the north side of brissy and needed an attribute from a nearby cache. Attended the look out side today in the drizzle and collected my best guesses .A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found.Cheers
Visited the Tingalpa Formation Lookout and enjoyed the walk up the hill from the parking spot. Tracks were pretty deserted today and I was able to make my way to the observation point to take my photos and notes. A nice quiet spot. I have sent my answers to the CO. Thanks very much for bringing me here to this forest again genyo. Now back to the car before the rain arrives. Cheers
This was a bit of an adventure to me but even so was extremely interesting. I'd be interested to know how much further out the rock went beyond the picnic table, and was that placed there as a picnic area by the council, or as an addition to the back yard of the nearest house. Either way I was certainly VERY glad I was on the safe side of the fence. I read through the description and questions on site and have done my best to answer them and these answers have been sent to the CO. We hope they are approved. Many thanks Genyo for bringing us here today to observe and learn.Cheers and happy caching!
Thank you very much for working out this educative Earthcache and for luring us to this interesting place which we otherwise wouldnt have visited !....../ ).....' /---' (.TFTC . Today, I needed to run an errand to Annerley, and so after a pleasant morning tea with friends, I made a few stops, which included Weller Road Park, and Toohey Forest Park. My plan was to target [Iniduoh](https://coord.info/GCH4DC) and [Get Rekt 3: Toohkeyo Drift](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/5f8af3eb-d28e-41a4-a5fe-af03bda75f02) Adventure Lab. I decided to pack quite light so I could jog/run different sections, but without packing much water or food, I was quite tired by the end of my visit given the large expanse of Toohey Forest that I covered.
I was initially a little confused to how to best access this waypoint, as the waypoint trailhead wasn't too obvious. However, the bushland was low density, so I was able to make a direct route from the nearby side street past the house, and then followed the fence upwards. I did have to laugh of the picnic table that was nearby to the quarry's edge, but currently behind fencing. Perhaps this is where the daredevils picnic?
An awesome quarry vantage point that I hadn't appreciated or observed before. You could certainly make out the two different rock type sections, and I enjoyed reading the descripiton and EarthCache lesson. Observations were made and answers gathered, and consequently they were sent to the CO for verification. Thanks genyo for the EarthCache organisation and placement. Some really cool hollow caves nearby too, that in themselves, could also be a separate EarthCache!

Out with BJA3 again for another day of fun.
We have been wanting to visit these two EC's for quite a while and finally made our way hear today. This one took a us a few minutes to work out where we could access the GZ from but we got there in the end.
Some great views from up here and another unknown location for us to visit.

I finished the other Earthcache and made my way back down the path to this one. I clambered up steep cliff and past the nearby house and I was finally at my destination. Oh my isn’t this a marvellous spot! I was in awe at the view, the location and the formations in the quarry.
I completed the necessary tasks and I had the required info to submit to the CO. I must’ve stayed here for about 20 minutes to enjoy the view and take in the scenery, it’s truely beautiful here.
With the answers submitted I’ve been given the all clear to log my find.

After the morning’s epic caches Triple turmoil, Davinells and myself decided to grab a few other caches in the area, this was one of those.
This was a nice walk to and we were prepared for the rain this time and luckily we did as in was a cat 3 storm on top as we walked along. We made it to GZ and in the rain we took our sightings. With the questions answered and sent off we made our way down a side track leading us back to the cars. Thanks for bringing us up here though I feel as though I have been here before for a certain older cache.

Davinells and Chamad said this was an important cache to get. Something about some north-side challenge I am unaware of. Anyway, off we went to get this one. Luckily we decided to bring umbrellas or we would have been drenched. Answers were sent off, while juggling umbrellas and phones. This area is magnificent. A shame we were not keen to hang around too long to enjoy it and marvel a little longer.
After a great kayak along Oxley creek this morning, I teamed up with chamad and TripleTurmoil to tackle a few other caches in the area.
The 2 earthcaches in this area was on my list as they contained a certain attribute I was chasing. As we were halfway to GZ, the heavens really opened up and it started bucketing down! Thankfully we had followed chamad’s suit and brought the umbrella on the walk.
As the rain came down we viewed what we could of the cliff face and the area we were standing on. Unfortunately the heavy rain didn’t allow us to stay long and we headed back to the car.

Out with Mr CuriousQuest, finding a few caches. Next on our list was this earthcache. I parked the geomobile and we bushbashed to GZ. There, we made our observations and took a few photos to help us answer the questions. A bit of exploring revealed an interesting cave where a nice fire had been set. I wonder who comes here.

Out today to grab 7 oldies from Crew 153. Thank you for keeping these caches going. Had lots of fun finding them. I did need to Paf a few times for help on a couple of them. ??
So now Mimosa series finished and one to go on the Oxley series to go.
Plus 3 for for a new challenge on the Northside.
So I found 10 for today. The breakdown was 7 mystery, 2 earthcache and a multi.
Sorry for the generic log.

I visited this amazing site today, sensational views with an extremely interesting history. Knowing how long this has been sitting here just blows my mind.

Today may as well have been earth cache day! I was hunting 8 of them in a single day to meet a challenge I was working on. Had to venture over to the "dark side" to grab them. It was more than 30 degrees outside, felt like it was 50 degrees, and there was heavy smoke in the air from the Fraser Island fires. Oh, you have to be relatively crazy to be geocaching in weather like this!
This was the seventh earth cache for the day. Answers collected, roses smelled, and I was straight back to the geomobile for some air conditioning relief!

After a cold morning start I decided to do something different this morning and combine MTB riding with a little geocaching (well that is not different for ruzzelz). What was actually different / new was a first visit to Toohey Forest park for MTB riding and for that matter geocaching, virgin territory here.
This was the second cache and I had reason to seek out another cache very nearby so actually found the riding access point to attack this cache. Glad I have good brakes that would be a big jump, make that fall.

When we parked the car at the bottom of the cliff we were only 60 metres away from GZ and we almost decided to take the short route up the face. Mrs Woodyrothwell was with my son and I and she vetoed the decision with venom. We had walked around the track loop finding a few other caches on the way so the long route was the only option.
We had a great view of the formation and the whole general area while we studied some rocks. Thankfully the questions weren't that hard and our answers were submitted to the CO. Unfortunately no matter how many EarthCaches I do, I always seem to get confused by different rocks. They all look the same colour after a while and can all seem to smash a window when needed.
Naturally when my son started walking close to the edge the maternal nagging kicked up with my wife. Don't get too close to the edge, don't have any fun, don't collect $200. With our answers guesstimated we decided to see how close we could get to the car without walking all the way back to the top of the sealed path. In the end we risked life and limb (well mainly just ankles) and climbed down the cliff face which looks worse from the bottom than the top. Still in full health we made our way to Garden City for Thai and wine. tftc

Mrs SP and I have the morning to go caching, so we decided to pop out for a few caches on the southside. Wow, this is such a lovely area. Sunday. Mrs Raynersinoz very kindly took me out today for some caching and we picked out this area to grab some caches. We were up this hill and couldn’t let this earthcache go by without checking it out. What an amazing area! Sure was a long way down – I was a bit surprised the Council hadn’t put up some fencing but only a crazy person would go near the edge here. I was blown away by this spot, and just wasn’t expecting to come across something like this. Answers have been sent for approval to the CO.
This was the 2nd of 13 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***genyo***, for showing us this place.

Being close in the area we spotted this pair of earth caches and given the subject headed over. Some interesting formations and we also spotted a bush turkey on travelling between the two earth caches. TFTEC
I didn't see the short cut to this one from the road but seeing how I was grabbing the other two here, I took the longer stroll along the top. Arriving at GZ I was surprised to see all the new cars down in the old quarry, it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. Not a bad view from up here, even on an overcast day like today.
I gathered the info, took a few photos and tried my luck at finding the short cut. To easy.

Found this an another earthcache in Toohey Forest over the weekend. This was a lovely walk. We took the long route, along the pathway. didn't even consider climbing the cliff. After collecting our answers we continued on the pathway to the road. TFTC and bringing us to this interesting area.
It was pretty tricky for us to get up to this one. First I had to get my 3 year old up the cliff at the start and then I had to carry him up the hill, through the bush. When we got there I was quite worried about him falling off the edge. Dd10 did his best to answer the question but we weren't exactly sure which rock we were looking for. After a while the stress of keeping the suicidal toddler away from the edge got too much for me so we headed back down, stopping on the way to visit the cave. By the time I got them both back down to the car, I was exhausted. They both declared it the best geocaching adventure yet!
I was a little uncertain at first with gz, as i was clearly above the cliff face i needed to be at. But then i rolled with it and soon had answers in hand. Thanks genyo for showing me another out of the way place and teaching me about where i am.
Today we spent a few hours walking around Toohey Forest. This was the first cache of the day, and we had parked close to GZ. It was still a bit of a scramble straight up from the road. At GZ, there is a great view of the area, and also the focus rock wall of this cache.
From here, we kept walking uphill and spent a few hours out exploring the trails. Thanks genyo for highlighting the geology of this area, and also for bringing us this way with your cache,
Domsky

Visited here to do this earth cache as it will fit nicely into my Spell August Challenge. Thankfully I was looking where I was going rather than at the phone screen as the cords were off on my phone, quite a few meters off the cliff edge to be exact! I'm not a fan of heights and that started when I had a long slide down a rock cutting not that far from this place in my younger days. I didn't want to perform an encore here so kept well back from the edge. I got the info required and carefully made my way back down, pausing to have a look at the little cave mentioned previously, which would be kinda cute and cosy for microbats maybe. TFTC Genyo ?
Over visiting from NZ and out to find some of the local caches whilst out sightseeing. What better way to see some of the more unknown spots and learn about the local areas, than to visit some earthcaches. Parked up in Dellwood St and then tried to find the track to this one. Without any success there, I just went bush until about half way there, I came upon a trail of sorts.

Three generations of the team were out today. As we are just visiting, we have a lot of caches to choose from, but a nice group of EarthCaches is hard to resist....
We parked and started walking, soon Samuel and I left Pop and Oliver at the road, as the short slippery slope up looked a bit dicey. We made our way to the edge, and observed the opposing cliffs. Pretty impressive, I never knew this was here. There was a cool cave on the way back too....

With the kids in school and Mrs OC at work, I made the most of a few hours out and about by heading to the Southside to collect a variety of older caches and unusual icons.
What a great vantage point from which to study the geology. One of the few advantages of quarrying is that exposes the rock underneath, and the distinctive layers can be studied. Answers sent.

Arrived at parking co-ords but couldn’t quite see a path in. But we ended up following in a bush turkey, which we believe was the correct way in. Turkey went one way as we continued on with the neighbour’s dog not very happy with our presence, which bought out the owner. Fairly sure we’re on public land so off we kept going.
Got to a position where we could see the face but Kerri said we had to continue as we weren’t at the given co-ords. I pointed out it was fine for her in her sensible footwear, where as I for some reason had decided that flip flops would be foot wear of choice today.
The view in the distance was lovey (not so keen on the industry right below us).
Thanks for bringing us here, if it wasn’t for this I would never have known this was an old quarry.
I even managed to get back down with landing on my b..m (probably to Kerri’s disappointment, not that she would ever admit it)

I cleared out Runcorn and Toohey Forest was also on the To Do list but was unsure if it would all happen today. This hill climb was a wee bit more than a T2.5 but got up there and down safely Spotted free accommodation for a single and stopped on the way back to take a pic and look inside. Nobody was home.
At GZ, which was actually a few metres over the edge of the cliff, I took a few pics and looked at the rocks. Is there anywhere in Brisbane that hasn't been quarried? It certainly was a surprise to see this here!

A lovely morning for the walk up to this Earthcache. I did this one for the souvenir on offer, as well as the "T" I need for the October challenge

Freezing breeze this morning but beautiful area. We took a short cut to get here on our way to the other earth cache you have placed. Thank you for bringing us here
Found whilst on a caching day with RhoBoCacher and Mrs Wombles. I'm not usually worried about heights but the sheer drop near gz made me a bit woozy and I was glad to get the info and climb back down. Answers emailed to the CO. Tftc genyo!
Found this one and sent answers of to C.O. and what a beautiful view from up here TFTC
I was not too keen on that edge, I didn't get to close!
I took some photos and then moved back a bit while my fellow cachers took some photos.
Have emailed the answers to the CO.
Thanks for placing these earth caches up here.

Answers sent to CO. My fourth earth cache for the day. Up the hill we went being careful not to go to close to the cliff edge. Not one to be done at night! picked up a nearby rock studied it and then moved on to the next earth cache just a little bit away. Thanks again genyo.

Out and about with Gunnie69 as we tackled some of the rare icon caches, like Earthcaches, Wherigos and Letterboxes! The day started out in the deep south, before tackling Salisbury, Nathan and Rochedale, before heading north and finishing the day in Brendale!
Thanks genyo for the hunt and the cache!

With a day planned to tackling just earthcaches and letterboxes, Ghostgums and I met near this one to start the list. Not long after sunrise and still a little crisp, we took to the narrow path and mode our way to GZ. Fortunately, the low light did not affect the view of the area and we were able to assemble answers to the questions... [^]
Scribble on paper and obligatory "I was here" pic snapped, we descended back to the car, then shuffled up the road to the other nearby geology lesson...
Cheers genyo.

After a good solid bush walk yesterday, I took a nice easy walk today in sections of Toohey Forest to work out a few aches and pains.
I slipped slightly on eroded rock, whilst climbing up the rough path to GZ. Not a good place to slip and I gave the edge a wide berth thereafter. Fantastic view from here and some interesting rocks as well. Answers sent to the CO. Many thanks, genyo.

Glad that the trail head was included, I could have walked past and not noticed it. Nice walk up to GZ and there are great views. Cool little cave nearby too, which is obviously used. TFTC

I was in the area to find another cache and saw these couple of Earthcaches nearby so I decided to check it out.
I reckon I was there at the right time of day because, standing at GZ, I got to watch the setting sun against the cliffs and it was a beautiful sight despite the industrial buildings below.
TFTC genyo and for bringing me to this beautiful spot.

Second stop in the area today and I have been very close to this area for a cache before, and pretty sure one that is still in play, but it is a puzzle so not giving any more away.
Beyond this the little cave nearby to GZ looked quite interesting and I took a look in there before heading over to take a little look at what was needed for this Earth cache. The edge is quite close here, and the ground a little loose so I was paying close attention to where I was walking, but still had a chance to check out the questions and get the answers.

Visiting Brisbane today and with a few hours to kill decided to grab a few caches.
After parking nearby I headed towards GZ and was greeted by a very animated dog nearby. Once at GZ I took in the view before gathering the information needed and then headed off to another nearby EC and leaving the dog in peace.
A very informative EC and I've given it a favourite point.

Visited this lookout to get the information needed to complete this Earthcache.
Email sent with answers and have now received the thumbs up to log. Have been in this area before to complete another series of caches which gives you another perspective of this formation.
Thanks for bringing us back here again. TFTEC...

Visited your Earth Cache on 23/3/2016 . I noticed today (cleanup the computer/geocaching paper work) that I had not logged a couple of your earth caches. I hope you accept my belated logging TFTEC
Enjoyed learning so much about the geology of this area of Brisbane. Thanks genyo.
Came by after work to have a look at the Tingalpa Formation. I really don't stop to look at geological things properly when I am just passing by so it's nice to have a reason to slow down and look properly. I've been around these parts many times before and was happy to be back again for a quick visit.
Thanks for the cache genyo.

Walking up here sort of reminded me of something - Oh yes, we have been here before. It was for the final of another cache! [:o)] I wonder if it is still around - if only I could remember!
This is our third genyo earth cache - answers sent and this is the log. Thanks for these - I like earth caches!

This is impressive. Together with RoddyC we climbed to the cliff. It is really steep but very interesting as well.
