Reperio 11:56The fourth and final day of caching around the Yass and Goulburn regions, and with a little time before needing to head home, I hit up some of the ones closer to town. While the fog was thick this morning, it soon lifted and it was fantastic to have some beautiful sunshine after 2-3 days of rain. With not a lot of movement around town this morning, most of the caches were found muggle free. Heading home to Orange, I was able to take an alternate route back, and explore some wonderful smaller townships along the way. A great day to be out caching. Long weekend trip to Bathurst. Barb2e and I are collecting caches in smaller towns on the way. Barb2e had previously found some of these, but was happy to retrace her steps so I could also find them. TFTC *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*

Puzzle solved along the way today, and a quick stop at GZ. We have enjoyed reading about the history of gold and bush ranging in this area. Always interesting to visit historic cemeteries also and as geocachers we seem to do that quite often. Thanks Joshwa27Domsky

Our notes for this are quite funny but very unhelpful so long after finding the cache. Let us say that having done quite a bit of the TRLT trail over time, we made sure we had a lot of the "History of . . . " caches solved ready for this trip. Thanks for the history lesson and the placing of this cache.

Finally tried again and found it Was lying on ground exposed so hope put it back right spot

A quick find on weekend road trip to Narrabri and back. TFTC.

01-Dec-22
Another visit to the local grave yard.

We headed into the flooded eastern states for a week of geocaching fun. The mission was Frying Pan. The only December 2000 placed cache remaining in Australia. All other choices for this month are international. Traveling in style and comfort we selected the next cache on merit and forward movement. Some back tracking was required in the wettest areas. Wildlife seen included a lyre bird, king parrot and a single leech. Mozzies were a pest. Caches were found and signed. Wet logs were wet. Water does that. Numerous TOTTs were employed.

Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

Found on a trip from Adelaide to NSW and back with Freddo.

Our main target was ‘Frying Pan’ in the Chichester State Forest, near Barrington Tops north of Newcastle.

We allowed ourselves a week to travel there and back, taking a circuitous route through Victoria and NSW, camping each night and finding a range of caches of interest along the way.

Rains over the past few months meant a few detours along the way and plenty of water about, restricting access to some caches and camping areas. Many of the roads were quite chopped up with potholes and the mosquitoes were plentiful! But we had a good run with the weather, with just the odd shower, but mostly fine, warm and overcast.

The coordinates are a bit off here, but the cache was soon found in the obvious tree to the northeast.

Thanks Joshwa27 for the puzzle and the cache.

Over complicated the search here, a little bit. Stunning spot. TFTC

15-May-22
Day 3 of our 2 week road trip south from Brisbane and so far the trip has been a nightmare. On the first day we had to find a route around flood waters which meant a long detour via the coast roads before making it to Coonabarabran for our first night. The second day quickly descended into disaster as I managed to bog my vehicle hunting only our second cache of the trip, and could not be extracted until 7pm that night, This meant an unscheduled stop over in Dubbo last night and after some work this morning cleaning the car up from its muddy encounter, we were underway again, heading for Goulburn.

After a DNF at a nearby traditional we moved over to have a search for this cache. I forgot I had in my notes that the solved coordinates were somewhat off, and initially searched in spot indicated by the checker coordinates. With no luck there I remembered my notes and quickly located the cache in the adjusted spot. TFTC

The start of a fabulous adventure. Kicking off a NSW Discovery holiday with nibletricecakes and k8tybee by starting with a group invasion with kittykatch, joolay, smittengranny, bar2e, and onieferret around Bathurst tackling many puzzles and some strands of the TRLT trail. We signed the logs as "Capital Crunchers". It was terrific to avenge a DNF on this one. Thanks to all the COs for placing these caches for our enjoyment.

A weekend geocaching trip with Barb2E, GLISS!, Joolay, Kittykatch, K8TYBEE, Nibletricecakes and Smittengranny. The weekends finds were signed as Capital Crunchers.
What a great weekend of finds.
A beautiful area. I managed to take a bit of a stumble at this cache, but the only thing bruised was the ego.
Thank you

Today I travelled with a group of friends from ACT as Capital Crunchers to see how many smilies we could gather along TRLT as we headed to Bathurst. It was a glorious sunny, warm winter's day and we had a ball finding many of the caches. Some were not found and now have a temporary cache until the CO has time to check. Apologies for the generic logs but so many to log. TFTC SL as Capital Crunchers.
Thanks Joshwa27

31-Jul-20
Spent a couple of days on the road doing a pre-lockdown pandemic caching run through the central tablelands of NSW. With cold nights and beautiful days I headed for the TRLT (The Road Less Travelled) and the scattering of caches in the towns nearby.

The recent wet weather made the roads slippery at times and many of the caches had taken on some level of water... Thanks to all the CO's for your hides. Smile

06-Jun-20
With COVID19 locking everyone down for so long, a MUCH overdue geocaching mission was welcomed. FurfacesLL #1 and myself decided to head towards Bathurst and attack some of the TRLT caches and see how far we can go. Spoke to a few of the CO's prior to heading up to see if we could assist with any maintenance that was required, so we went prepared with some camo containers and some fresh log books. We had a wonderful weekend stretching the legs and enjoying the country side.

Another "History Of..." puzzle ticked off. Nice little history lesson learnt whilst solving this one, no issues with the hide.

Thanks for the hide Joshwa27 Big Grin And thanks to the FFLL ladies for another fun weekend out and about the TRLT trails and others Big Grin

06-Jun-20
With the COVID19 restrictions lifting, we decided to head to the Bathurst area this long weekend on a Geomission with Rapidlywild.

We hit the road early and resisted the urge to stop along way. We decided to attack the TRLT trail and others around the area. We had a great four days, only a few DNF’s but mostly smiley's, and have left plenty for another adventure.

Lovely area to cache in and we look forward to coming back for some more fun and laughs.

Thanks for the hide Joshwa27

Today we are travelling from Goulburn to Bathurst and doing the caches along the way. The weather was fine and windy, however we hit the road running. Found various caches of various types and sizes. Due to the number we found, I have done a genereic log. Thank you. TFTC.

16-Nov-18
Took a while to work this one out as it isn't easy finding a spot around here with mobile coverage (I really must do these *before* I get there...). Anyway, with a good set of coordinates found the cache quickly in a spot that has long ago outgrown its cage!

Thanks,

It was time for a big weekend caching, so I was joined by Fitzy_1965 and MinnieK for two days to tackle the new TRLT caches just East of Bathurst, This part of the trip went smoothly. I also managed to squeeze in a few more on the day after whilst traveling between the rain on Monday.

I made a long trip round to get back to the final TRLT caches on my list for today. Following back roads with a few caches. This was a very interesting cemetery to visit.

Thanks.

We'd just found another cache nearby and then walked to this one to complete all the caches currently hidden in Tuena. Thanks to Joshwa27 for all your effort here.

Our last cache for the day, before heading to the Junction campground for the night. We had a lovely warm fire, and snuggly swags, and so were toasty warm despite the cold weather. But before all that comfort, we had to find this last cache. We had the coordinates a bit out, but still made a fairly quick find with the aid of the hint.

Thank you Smile

A feature here we had wondered about last time we were here a few years ago.

23-Oct-17
We are always happy to be able to tick off some more caches by Joshwa27 that are on our "to do" list. The ones here at Tuena were not difficult to find and the questions for this one had been answered long ago. Many thanks go to the CO for placing so many caches around the country which encourages us to go caching and exploring.

Third of ten Joshwa27 "History of ..." caches today. All solved a while ago in preparation for a drive home on the long weekend at Floriade.

Firstly I turned before the gate and was moved on by polite but insistent neighbours.

Secondly the coordinates were about 12 metres off and I was a little surprised it was on that side of the fence as I thought that would border the grave. But it was the obvious object that matched the hint.

TFTC.

I walked straight up to this and found the cache in the first place I looked. Cache and log good. TFTC Joshwa27.

Last minute drive in the country with fitzy_1965 and DK had us heading out to Blayney and back. Such a glorious day to be out in the fresh air and doing a bit of caching whilst we were at it.

fitzy had already found this so gave a quick hint when the co-ords were a bit off. Had to sign and return log quickly as locals were about to drive past.

18-Apr-17
Solved the clues before coming out here today. Parked near GZ. Searched all around the obvious choice, then expanded to include the other targets nearby, as others had done previously. No luck today.

25-Mar-17
Found this cache at 12.25pm while on our way home and enjoying this lovely country road.
Tuena would have to be one of my most favourite little villages. Even found a rustic mud house with a verandah out the front that we could sit on and ponder the day away as we watched the sunset go done.
It has a general store/post office. a beautiful swinging footbridge. 2 Country Churches and Gold in them nearby creeks. What more could you want?
Thanks Joshwa27 for bringing us to the cemetery were there were plenty of Kangaroos on guard.

12956. Found on a quick run up from Goulburn before tonights event.

With a few hours up my sleeve before the event tonight I headed north to grab some caches within a reasonable drive. Next find for the day. I have slowly been collecting many of the History of XXX caches as I cache around various parts of NSW. Pre-solved so I drove up to my calculated GZ. With no luck there I expanded the search as per the clue and soon had the cache in hand. Signed the log, returned the cache, then headed off to the next one.

Thanks again Joshwa27 !! Another one crossed off the list !

I was out on a cache maintenance run today and tried to pick up a few smilies on my way. Luck wasn't with me today - I DNF'd more often than TFTC. My lack of luck may be because I am very rusty at cache hunting rather than the absence of containers??? Pretty sure I have the co-ordinates right but for some reason my GPS was a bit bouncy today. I checked out lots of potential hidy holes but no luck. Thanks for bringing me here anyway - it is a lovely spot for those who are here.

Found the tree! Scrapped all the leaves & bark but nothing appeared or dropped on the ground. Looked in cracks & crannies. Probably the wrong tree but it was the largest. Thanks.

28-Jul-16
Another day run with LuckyL10n up around these parts to grab a few of these neat History of caches. Had a lot of fun researching the info and learning a little about the area. Once at GZ, the cache was found after a short search.

Thanks Joshwa27……great little series.

#4706 - 11:25; Off on another day run with Sol de lune. This time we are headed to Blayney via Goulburn and Crookwell and many small towns in between. A few more in the 'History of.....' series are on the radar, along with any other caches along our planned route. We had now reached Tuena and headed out to anothyer familar type of location to collect this cache. Once we arrived, we paddled across to GZ through the water flowing down the hill for the find. TFTC Joshwa27 Smile

Found it on second attempt after the cache owner replaced it.

This has been the wettest trip I have had at Tuena in nearly 40 years of going here.

At least my car will look genuine as it travels through Sydney on the way home Wink

Looked everywhere around GZ. GPS was flipping round a lot but looked all likely spots with no luck

28-Mar-16
Our combined Brains trust checked and double checked that we had the correct co ordinates for the cache. As a double check we answered most questions off the pamphlet on Tuena available in the General Store, and Janelle was good enough to help us double check the 2 remaining answers.

With local knowledge we thought we were good to go, however a though search at GZ by numerous pairs of eyes was unable to locate the locate the cache.

Hopefully we will have better luck next time, but we can claim at least we got 3/5 of the Tuena Caches.

Thank you Joshwa27

27-Mar-16
Tried to nab this one but it continues to elude us, second try with correct calculations took us to a probable GZ but due to local clean up of the area we suspect the cache has been disturbed. Assisted in the hunt by NSW Lone Rovers, Lonely RA, Aiden 04 and Leashie.

Leaving Canberra for Bathurst, we decided to "go direct" and pick up some caches north of the Hume Highway.

Yes, we did do this one from Google, so we knew where to go. It didn't take long to find the cache, and it is in good condition.

Thanks for the Mystery.

Found at 1.40pm on 2nd January 2015. TFTC.

Chooo ooo *FTF* on a cloudy day. This area of the cemetery certainly had some older gravestones... Quite interesting. Hmmm - I think this town could be classified as a ghost town! I did not see a single person here, the whole time I was here. The pub looks like it has been closed for a long time. But even worse, it was lunch time, and I was hungry! Ah - a general store! Dang, should have guessed - it was closed too... Oh well, nice town, even if a little ghostly. Thanks again J27.
