Day 5 of my 6 day trip to Dunedin to attend the Mega and clean up all the puzzle caches solved over the last few years.Todays journey took me around Dunedin a bit and then hit the airport area cleaning up the puzzle caches here before heading back to Dunedin. Thanks for all the puzzles, caches, find, frustration and enjoyment.Spent most of the day with buttels. Logged as combinations of B&C.FP .. Nicely crafted and a huge hollow tree..
Our plan today is not just flying around the airplane trail, we will always stop for a hollow tree or two. Didn't take long to spot it. After finding this one we had to adjust our flight plan as there was a tree completely covering the road. Thanks Hall-way#17363
Day 2 on my Geo Toroa Mega trip. Team effort with Kiwicampnut and MacpacMumWet, but so far not as bad as I thought it would be. This was a unique outer 'container' and worthy of a fab. Thanks for the cache Hall-way# 4001 26 October 2024 3:40 pm
Dunedin MegaOut caching with barb2e, Smittengranny, binliner and Joolay. Signed as Canberra Cachers Dunedin (;CCD). GrimRaider, Joolay and I are in NZ for the Dunedin mega event. It is great to be back to see more of this beautiful country. Thanks for hiding this cache Hall-way

TN:LN:LS this was #6,355 for us!
Day eleven of our epic New Zealand Adventure with The Morris.Today we spent around Dunedin. We spent the morning doing some of the Plane Geo Art, had lunch at Outram, then returned to the city to do some of the older caches, with a few others in between.Finished the day with the event, and Indian take away.I think the highlights were the ones on Allanton - Scroggs Hill Road, the views were spectacular.A good collection of hollow trees, but this one stood out. Thanks, Robmc.
Day 11 of our Enzed adventures with Robmc and our second full day in Dunedin. Our intention was to target the Plane series and hopefully find at least half of them before the hoards and the rains arrive. We did pretty well and then after lunch headed back to town to tackle some of the oldies.A brief respite from the planes and time to chat with some other cachers. Then onto the event. Thanks for contributing to the fun Hall-way
Team SEAC consisting of HeMaLuDy, Stik-a-crane, UncleSam, Keylev and ourselves headed to Dunedin for the 2024 MEGA!All logs were signed as SEAC to save paper (except where specific signing requirements were requested)Thanks to all the CO's who had maintained the caches as we found a majority with fresh paper and containers!TFTC
What an incredible day it was. This morning Kittykatch, Joolay, barb2e and I cached our way to the airport. Here we met up with Binliner to attack the Plane/Jet series, which we had solved before leaving Australia. We found every cache that we tried for, and this was one. The logs were all signed CCD (Canberra Cachers Dunedin). Unfortunately a couple of us forgot what day it was and used the incorrect date for a while, but once we woke up (literally) that error was corrected. A huge thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining these caches. You add so much to our game. ??
Here for a fun weekend with friends from Auckland to attend the 2024 Mega. All logs signed SEAC as a group. Very sorry for the generic plain logs. Thanks to all cache owners for placing the caches.
Down for the mega and today was the day to complete the aeroplane series and of course some additional ones!! Thanks for the cache. Signed as Team SEAC (South East Auckland Crew)
We are in Dunedin this weekend for the Mega with Stik-a-Crane, UncleSam, KeyLev, and NZTravellers. We have signed all logs as team SEAC to save space, especially as we know this weekend will be busy for all caches. We have landed, picked up the cars and the plane geoart and any other trads, multis, or puzzles we have solved are the targets for the day. We have had an amazing time and had very few DNF's for a very successful day with lots of laughs and memories made.
Day dawned fine and dry after some rain through the night so was looking good for our plans for the day. A great morning spent collecting all our solved puzzles for the plane. Started at the airport with Smittengranny after meeting Binliner off his flight and then we teamed up with Joolay and Kittykatch. Had no problems with most of the finds and certainly enjoyed a few stops at the Outram cafe. Caches signed as CCD for Canberra Cachers Dunedin. Thanks for all the caches in this Geoart and the extras we collected while on the roads.
Attending the Dunedin Mega this weekend. Out caching today with Agazo and AlunB. Signed logs as AMA.Our plan was to complete the aeroplane artwork and any other caches that we stumbled upon enroute. Thanks Wilbywarrior for all the effort of creating this trail and maintaining it.Tftc#21,000
So happy the weather is perfect for doing this trail.Day 4 and meeting up with Binliner, smittengranny and barb2e. Signing as CCD for Canberra Cachers Dunedin. Finally back in NZ and this time for a Mega. Starting in Christchurch before heading south. Lots to see and do with Kittykatch and Grimraider. Will be joining with others as the days go on.Thanks for getting me out and about Hall-way
After arriving on an early flight, teamed up with smittengranny, barb2e, Joolay and Kittykatch for an enjoyable mornings caching session around the airport region. Signed as CCD (Canberra cachers Dunedin)Exchanged anecdotes with some local farmers who kept us entertained and were generally supportive of our mission. Thanks for placing these caches for our enjoyment and welcoming us to Dunedin.
Arrived today from the Northern Island to attend Geo Toroa (Mega), as a group consisting of myself, HeMaLuDy, UncleSamNZ, keylev, NZ Travellers, and of course it would be rude to not locate caches as we left the airport heading into our accommodation in Dunedin.Signed in as SEAC to save logbook space and on our way to the next hide.TFTC.
Down in Dunedin for the Mega this weekend with McJandals and NZFLOSSY. Signed the log sheet MDF Thanks for the cache.
Down in Dunedin for the Mega event. Travelling with Davidsonclan and McJandals. Really fun to be out and about with the team and catching up with other cachers friends m everywhere. Thanks to all the organisers and all the COs for some great caches. It is certainly a lovely area of New Zealand TFTC . Cool hide
Down here for the Dunedin Geo Toroa Event from the sunny Bay of Plenty,Tauranga and are with some of Team BoP. Great to get together with our fellow cachers. Signed Logs MDF. (McJandals,Davidson clan & NZ Flossy)I am logging using the Cachly App and using their template option which helps with my memory for logging. I genuinely thank every CO for their time and effort put into these caches. Much appreciated.
Back in our hometown for a weekend of MEGA adventures.Luckily great weather on our first day meandering around TFTC.
Visiting Dunedin for my first Mega Event, on tour with flossieteacake. Had a great time, despite the weather. We had all seasons: sunburn and (almost) frostbite!Great to catch up with caching friends, new and old, and to explore Dunedin in more depth.Thank you to all the COs for making their caches available after the recent floods and thanks to TeamOtago for all their work to ensure a successful Mega!TFTC Hall-way?? ,';*={thanks}-*;', ,;:*(thanks}:*;*:{thanks}*:;, ,;{thanks}:;:*{thanks}:;:{thanks);, `;:{thanks};:{thanks}:;{thanks}:;' `*&;:{thanks}:;:{thanks},:;&*' `-+;:*{thanks}*:;+-` `-\\\||///-' __ \\||// __ / `------' \ | }-(______)-{ | \___/ |||| \___/ /_, |||| ,_\ \| |/
This morning maplerosenz and I are caching our way from the airport. Approaching gz it was a rather obvious hollow tree. As designated driver I was sat in the car and she got out to look. One minute I saw her approach the tree, and the next she seemed to have disappeared into another dimension. Luckily she did come back, albeit with a grin on her face so she must have had a good time in there.
Back home in Taranaki after a massive 5 days at the Dunedin Mega with MrMuggleNZ and its time to start logging my findsall 226 of themso wish me luck. Only 2 DNFs the whole time we were here so thats a testament to the dedication of the local cache owners and their maintenance prior to this event. A cool hide in a cool spot!! Nice to get a trad or 2 today too. TFTC
Found with NZDi on our southern adventure heading for the Geo Toroa. Earlier in the year a group of us Blenheim cachers started solving puzzles around the area in preparation for this weekends Mega. The aircraft geo-art was part of that project. Today, with NZDi as driver and recorder and myself as navigator, we made the attempt to clear them out. We started out just before 10.00am with a DNF at #58 which didn't bode well for our mission. We finished all we could around 5.00pm. We are logging in the order the caches were signed. Caches weresigned in full or abbreviated to ND + KM as space would allow. We noted other cachers who logged today and even met up with others (twice). We were impressed with the accurate coordinates, the helpful hints (where given) and the well maintained caches. These logs are going to be pretty generic but I'll try to comment on some of the more memorable caches where appropriate.Another traditional that popped up on our route todayTFTC Hall-way
FINALLY, and with humble apologies for being so late, I am catching up on my logging. On the day I was thinking too much about having just found my 10,000th cache.Day 4 of The Wellingtonians are in Dunedin tour with TwigNZ, Mr-Mcgoo, Itchyfeet2020 and matagouri, as well as TaybeeNZ who decided to have a few days of his South Island tour with us. We are targeting specific caches -oldies, wherigos (thanks to the Seagnoids new caches on the Wainuiomata Hill road in Lower Hutt), a certain jet and hopefully a certain bird. Of course, there will be days of laughter, no doubt at my expense .During our time here, all found caches were signed as MINT, regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 5 of us hadn't found it previously, or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find.Kia ora rawa atu for the cache Hall-way.
Out and about on day 10 of my South Island Tour and day 4 of "Wellingtonions Gone South: Dunedin Edition" with NZ_B, TwigNZ, Mr-Mcgoo, Itchyfeet2020 and matagouri. The target of this day was cleaning up the plane. All logs signed as MINT. TFTC
A group of friends have traveled together to Dunedin to collectively target a whole bunch of caches, primarily because of their value in terms of Jasmer Grid filling, or for certain Challenge Caches that we have elected to try to achieve.M.M.I.N.T.T are Mr-Mcgoo, matagouri, Itchyfeet2020, NZ_B, taybee nz and TwigNZ. Some logs were signed this way, some were signed as M.I.N.T for expediency, and some (mainly Challenge Caches) were signed with individual names.Day 4, our last day before heading home this evening, and the main focus of our day would be hitting the Plane geoart series. We had no idea whether we would get to complete it today, but having met the CO for a drink last night we hoped we would. Doing that would bring us in the vicinity of other caches such as this one, and we thought it would be rude if we didn't stop to find these too. This was effectively a quick park 'n' grab. No problems here, so everything was replaced as found once our team name was added to the log.Thank you for putting out this cache for all to find.
Day 4 of the Wellywood Adventure to Dunedin. The trip had been in the planning for a while - especially to get Sutton Lake, the Old School Challenge and other personal goals. The backup plan had always been - "lets get the plane solved in case we have time". Today is that day and obviously any other caches that Hall-way has added to these roads for fun. TwigNZ had to go deep for this. TFTC. All caches signed as Team M.I.N.T.
A visit to Dunedin by Wellington geocachers NZ_B, Itchyfeet2020, TwigNZ, Mr-Mcgoo, Taybeen NZ, and myself. Signing as Team MINT, targeting old caches, Wherigos, and whatever else we can find.Found this one while completing the Airplane series. All good in container. Tftc!
(# 8384) The Wellington crew are on another mission. Included are Itchyfeet2020, NZ_B, TwigNZ, Matagouri and TaybeeNZ. As usual quite a bit of hilarity. Day 4 was more centred primarily on the Airplane series down towards the airport. Signed as MINT.Thanks Hall-way for bringing me here.
Did not find your container needs replaced because there is nothing in the tree Cheers Doc_NZ
Last visited here 31 July 2016 and had to log a sad face. Been meaning to come back, didn't think it would take me seven years though! Was out with mum and she jumped in the tree and spotted it first, but so pleased I can tick this off..even if it was 7 years later! My gosh! I'm old.

Another really nicely done cache hide. I didn't see it at first, as I was looking at the wrong elevation. Then read the hint and had another look. Nicely set up. Found with MrMagoo72.

Day3 of my signing off the rest of the Airport Mystery Puzzle series along Riverside Road between Bush Road and Outram. This cache cropped up in the midst of my puzzle run so I just had to sign its log. TFTC Hall-way
Out again trying to locate the solved Airport puzzles. This one got in the way and I just had to sign it off.
Cheers for the cache.

I'm on a geocaching roadie from Whangarei to Dunedin. Geoarts were the main target of this trip.
In Palmy I got 2/3 of a shield and 2/3 of the 20/20 series. Wairarapa we achieved 100% of the M and some archived skindo challenges. Wellington I finished off the kiwi bar 1 dnf. Nelson I got my BGSc challenges. In Christchurch it was family time. Dunedin was another sucess with 100% of the airplane geoart. Then I flew home to say goodbye to my son heading to Denmark.
It was great to have my friend Supernanny come along on the trip for company. We had a wonderful trip and fantastic weather. I'm just finishing off writing the massive backlog of logs.
Todays target was the nearby geoart. This certainly was a neat place for a cache. We stepped inside and soon made the find. Thanks for your hide

After being bravely volunteered to enter the tree, the cache was quickly found. A nice spot! TFTC
What a great place for a cache ( after a quick scan for any spidery friends).
Thanks for putting this here

Nosynel made the find for us. Kind of repeating another hollow tree we encountered geocaching through the Molesworth a few years ago. Tftc.

A fun hide. A perfect photo opportunity. I am on a 4.25 day geocaching road trip with Jude_E. We're going to spend most of the time near Dunedin. Some geo art was a real draw card. We are on day 2.25.Thanks for hiding this cache Hall-way I appreciate it.
A nice quick find thanks. The title of the cache is a dead give away
Ms_KR and I are on a wee South Island break. A day collecting airport puzzles and other caches we passed on the way from Dunedin to Kaitangata. A glorious day for caching!
Oh and some of my earlier caches today might have yesterdays date on them
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

sneaky place to hide a cache. A bit spidery, I'm afraid I had to destroy a few webs in pursuit of this. Thanks Hall-way.
Found with Troodles, StreetWalkerNZ and Mrs KC on a hot day while out searching for most of the GeoArt aeroplane series. Took some searching until Mrs KC thought a bit more carefully and soon spotted the cache.

Found with StreetWalkerNZ, KiwiChris and Mrs KiwiChris after lunch in Mosgiel as we attempt to find as many of the new airplane geoart as possible on a warm and sunny Dunedin day.
Another trad that we stopped for on the geoart trail, and a worthwhile stop. We initially searched in the wrong place until Mrs KC went around the back. Aah! That's pretty amazing! Cache was soon spotted after this. TFTC.

Heading to Invercargill today with time for a detour and a chance to turn some green dots to smiles. Thanks to Hall-way for placing and maintaining the cache. Quick find on a very quite road.
The CO has a thing for hollow trees, is it not?
The CO also deserves a compliment for preventing cache-creep.
The CO also has something with a car race of some sorts?
The CO is thanked for this cache -> Thank you for this cache.
