29-Feb-16
There is a leap day once every four years so we wanted to celebrate that together with other catchers.
We have visited all up 6 events in Sydney. Meet the swedish, Sydney CBD, Strawberty Hills Forever, leaping over Sydney Barangaroo and of course our own event in Dural.
We have of course also looked for this cache.
Er have finished the day at 8pm with our own event in Dural.
Thank you

29/2/16. 12:01 PM. Cache #3611. Streak day #617.

4th of 7 finds today - Sydney, Kellyville Ridge & Dural. 5 were Leap Day events!

After finding "The Mystery of Sydhenge" I then had about an hour and a half to kill before this event, so I went back to the city centre for some lunch and retail therapy.

I then walked over, still about 15 minutes early, to find C62, bella@waggy and Jackscruff seated about 30 metres from GZ in the nearest shade, so I joined them - the event's First to Find committee as we had declared ourselves Wink

Over the next 12 minutes or so, many more cachers arrived, locals and travellers alike, but the CO arrived 12:14 - early for his own event but not as early as the rest of this eager crowd. Signed the special ammo can and engaged in some good geochat with a number of different folks from around the place.

Towards half past, it was time to go for those that were planning on walking to Customs House at the northern end of town for "Leaping Over Sydney", which started at 1:00. I said my goodbyes and was joined by bella@waggy, Zalgariath, and GamingCaving. These 3 hadn't found "The Mystery of Sydhenge" yet, which was on the way, so I helped them there, a little bit. And Zal got more than he bargained for. Then on to the next one! TFTE!

Arrived half an hour early and there were already a couple of familiar faces waiting. By the time the event organiser arrived there was quite a crowd. Signed the ammo can, a unique log book!
Chatted with lots of new cachers and discovered and swapped some TBs then many of us headed northward to the event at Customs House. We went by different methods of travel - walk, train and bus and all arrived about the same time.
TFTE nice to meet you!

Our second event of this special day. We arrived early being first after completing a number of non geo tasks. As the time approached the number began to build and then at the alotted time the CO appeared. Signed the ammo can log book (nice touch) and continued the geo chat before heading off to Sydhenge and the next event at Circular Quay. TFTC

My second Leap Day event and it was great to catch up with a number of familiar faces. What's always fabulous is the chance to meet new players and chat about all things geocaching. It was especially great to meet Mr and Mrs Candyce54 from the United States and Miz Wacket who is a colleague of my geoson, Smurfyguy! A fabulous event Team MavEtju. Well done!

29-Feb-16
After the morning event across the road, I headed off to do my own thing before making it back just in time to an already large gathering. This was my second event for the day, and it was great to see such a creative logbook! Looking forward to the hide. Thanks, Team MavEtJu, and great to meet you!

Unfortunately I missed this event. It inexplicably dropped off my map!
Thanks for organising all the same.

Had to time my break at work for the to make the short trek from Central Station to this event.
So nice to be able to finally have this date ticked off my Cache Calander since it only comes around once every 4 years.

Unfortunately didn't get to stay long as I needed to be back at work by a certain time but did manage to sign the ammo tin log.

A busy little event in the middle of the city. Met new folks and old (didn't I just see you guys in Bathurst?), sent a TB to its goal destination with some overseas visitors, and sweated in front of The Captain to get info from a GCA virtual. Thanks Team MavEtJu for organising.

29-Feb-16
Second of six leap day events attended today. Managed to escape the office for an early lunch and made the short walk across to Hyde Park. Good to meet some new geocachers and also catch up with a few familiar characters. Thanks for the event Team MavEtJu!

Thank you for the opportunity to meet some fellow cachers & put some faces to familiar names also-always fun!! Bummed I had to leave to go to work, would've been fun to do a cache crawl. TFTEvent!!

I had a short space of opportunity to sneak down here between TAFE classes. Dropped off Penelope Pig TB, signed the log and had a brief chat before I had to turn around and head back.

29-Feb-16
First ever geo event. Mrs Jaybeem! & I turned up at 12.50 & no on around to sign any log if that's what hsppens. So disappointing so we just snapped a selfie with Captain Cook.

29-Feb-16
Thanks everybody for showing up!

At 12:14 the Captain Cook monument was swarmed around by about 20 people who were only too eager to sign the ammo box which acted as the log book (see attached picture). At 12:40 everybody was gone, and at 12:45 I decided to call it a day.

Apologies to the people who showed up after that, I did not expect anybody from coming anymore.

Today we travelled by train into the city to attend this Leap Day Event. Hopped off the train at Wynyard and, after doing a little shopping, we headed up to Hyde Park for the Event.

Arrived just before 12:15 to see a geogroup had formed in a shady spot not too far from the Captain Cook statue. We approached and introduced ourselves, and then everyone moved up to the official Event location at the Captain Cook statue. There were a few extra eager cachers rushing toward the statue, no doubt for a FTF, or at least a “first to sign” Smile We chatted with some familiar faces, and met some new faces, before signing the “bullet proof” log.

Discovered lots of trackables, including the event organizer in his trackable T-shirt ! Also shared some of our own trackables with the crowd. The “Signal” family, all 3 of them, were also there sporting their own individual TB tags.

After a very pleasant 25 minutes or so we bid the few remaining cachers farewell and headed off toward home, but stopping off on the way to do a nearby multi-cache “Thornton's Scent Bottle”.

Thanks Team MavEtju for organizing this Event. It was very nice meeting you, and all of the other cachers, here today.

Luckily I had leap day off so decided to come into town and attend a few events and find a few caches. Found the Obelisk and then headed over with Ziggiau to the Event proper and got to catch up with the folks. Cheers MavEtJu... now to rush off to the Quay for another one and to grab a few GCA Engineering Markers Wink

28-Feb-16

28-Feb-16
I'll be there, considering that I'll also be at the event nearby earlier in the day. Like a few others, unfortunately I may be heading off a little early to make the next event at 2pm at the Customs House. Looking forward to it!

I've managed to wangle a day off work so I can come into the city to attend all the CBD events. Looking forward to this one.

08-Feb-16
With a bit of research, I have found a loophole in the system.
The overkill of events for the leap day/souvenir, has set a goal for the day:

> Attend Multiple Geocaching Events in One Day

The day should pan out as such:
1. Breakfast at Hanging Rock - http://coord.info/GC69XGW
2. Here's a Proposal - http://coord.info/GC6AP6Q
3. Meet the Swede on Leap Day - http://coord.info/GC6ACWC (Optional, Time Dependent)
4. Sydney CBD Leap Year Celebration - http://coord.info/GC69BT1
5. Leaping Over Sydney - http://coord.info/GC69Z43
6. Strawberry Hills Forever - http://coord.info/GC6APC6
7. Sydney is Leaping into 2016 [Barangaroo] - http://coord.info/GC67XGW

Hope to see some familiar faces & discover plenty of trackables!
