It's another size regular dot-day, so I am planning a trip into Belmont when TwigNZ invites me on a caching trip to the Wairarapa. Okay, but I need a regular, I say. So we stop here along the way. A straightforward but surprising find - I would not expect a ammo can here! Many thanks for the cache, and for another dot-day completed. 44 still to go.
I had two goes at walking to this cache. I am staying at Silverstream Retreat at a band camp. After lunch we had time only to secure the first cache on this walkway. So when our bandmaster dismissed us early before dinner, I grabbed my companions to complete the walk up to this cache. Lovely refreshing walk in the trees. Thank you trails trails trails for placing this cache.
We are staying at the Top 10 camp ground near by and were out on our bikes enjoying the river trails and grabbing a few caches along the way. TFTC. Cache all good.
Found today. Quite wet inside cache container. The log book has mold on it so cache owner - will need attention soon. Looked like it had not been opened in a while. Nice place
Unbelievable - I arrived and found I'd lost my pen since my last stop. That's the second trip in a row where I've had pen troubles - you think I'd learn. I have taken a photo of the log as proof that I found it (well hidden amongst all the undergrowth) - I guess as the new CO isn't active at the moment there's no one to judge whether or not that's acceptable.
And due to that pen issue this become my last find for the day. TFTC.

Two day trip to Hutt Valley area, time for a bike, easy find. Thanks wb1116 for the cache.
Very thorny and lots of trees down. Had a good climb around by river but couldn’t find
Went for a morning walk with Satansspawn yesterday (23/4/22) I never had intended on find some caches until Satansspawn suggested we hunt for some on the way back we located this cache but never had a pen with us i will be filling out the log today... TFTC was a bit of a mission getting into the ammo tin
Quick find in likely place, disturbed a couple of cockroaches but they will find their way home, tftc.
Nice straightforward find here. It’s always good to find an ammo can to drop some swag into. TFTC
Having just hosted an event in Avalon Park, Lower Hutt, I went for a drive afterwards to try for some local caches in an area I don't get to visit very often. I was aiming for a few park 'n' grabs as well as the chance to look for some solved puzzles and Challenge caches that I've qualified for.
This was one of my last caches for the day. It was a pleasant walk along here this arvo as there was hardly anyone else around so I was able to take my time and hunt for caches in peace.
I was very surprised, and delighted, to find an ammo can here. Such an easy hide but it works well.
I soon had the log signed, and I grabbed a TB I found inside too. Then the whole lot was replaced as found and I was back on my way again. Thanks for setting this cache up.

TFTC! First find after two DNFS! First find ever in the Geocaching world and made us so happy!
Found this. Left a traceable that's trying to get home to Germany if anyone can help it on it's way.

Good to finally find an ammo tin that's actually still there. Rewarded it with a couple of trackables, that might bring it some more visitors.
Great to find an ammo case here and evicted many creepy crawleys before signing the log. Thanks CO for the cache.

Out and about on the push bike, good day for it. Good to see a decent size cache still around, being a while since out for a few finds. Cheers
The last cache I needed to get the 15 gemstones required for the third Mystery at the Museum souvenir. It was a rather wet morning and my feet were pretty damp by the time I reached GZ: my planned turning point on my walk. The co-ordinates were spot on, so given that plus the size of container it was probably the easiest find of the day for me. Good containers these and it was of course bone dry inside. I signed the generously sized log book and left cache back in place as found. Thanks for another nice cache trails trails trails.
Nice find after a couple of DNF's along the walking track, will definitely revisit with the smaller munchkins from the family to discover and add to the treasure TFTC
Our first of your caches I think - we've heard good things! Was a quick find with rangercache tonight. Thanks for the placement and great container, love these, cheers.
Very rarely does this cache attract a DNF so I thought I'd pop down and make sure it's secure; after LightyearX13's struggle.
It's still there and, like a shy trout lingering under overhanging willows, may require a little coaxing from the summer growth.
I also checked the coordinates and found them to be hardly a ripple from those published. Cheers

For a long time we have wanted to get some smiley faces along this bike trail and these few days off in the camper were the very excuse we needed to do them. The ride was very enjoyable and very easy with just a little breeze. It was great to see such an array of different hides and to see some of the country side from a different angle. All hides appeared to be in good condition and the co ords were usually spot on
Many thanks for bringing us to this area

Well the weekend was nearing by and I was wondering what I could get up to then a fellow geocacher contacted me asking if I wanted to go biking this weekend and with the family away why not I thought so Friday came around got sorted for the Saturday adventure then set off early Saturday morning reaching The Upper Hutt area around 9am we had a cuppa or two or three hen though we better stop chatting and get a move on, we set off to do a trail but while doing that make sure we also get the odd ones in between and a bit out and about as we go, as ya know when caching time ticks away rather fast so we needed to keep an eye on the time as I still had to return home sometime today., lucky for daylight savings and great weather on our side today. What a lovely area to cache in we last came here with the Mega on, so only 3 months ago but never got too much time for biking trails, the weekend went so fast but most enjoyable. It wasn't long before we had our first cache in hand then second third and so on, we signed the logs and placed the caches back exactly where we found them, a few muggles today but no one seemed to be worried about what we were up, was caching with 2 Bulbars today. caches were good no DNFs so far it was a nice quick find. better get on our way to the next cache then get a bit cleaned up have a drink and a bite to eat then start to get ready to head for home all in all a great day great company. Thank you so much for taking the time to place a cache here and give us yet another adventurous day out. Dropped nothing signed log, took nothing

We walked from Silerstream to Pomare today and we found this cache as well. thank you
We had been looking forward to this weekend for the past year, we first heard about it at the Geofest in Oamaru. We registered our will attend as soon as we could and then watched and watched as the numbers grew until it was at Mega status.
This morning we had already attended an event and found the oldest cache in New Zealand which was very awesome. We found a few other traditional caches around the area but we could not find too many as I had to get myself up a hill to get to another nearby event.
Once we had attended the event and found and signed the 1000 day challenge cache we headed back down the hill.
We then started driving around looking for a few caches to find as we filled the day in while we waited to go to the next event.
We noticed these few caches along this track so we decided to have a look for them.
They were all nice easy finds, that we were able to find in between the muggle bikers and dog walkers.
We were impressed with how many caches we were finding that were not micro or nano sized
Thank you for placing this cache and of course thank you for the smilie
Thanks for the cache trails trails trails! It was cool!!
Especially liked the nice big logbook - so much easier to sign than some nano and micro cache types!
I also really enjoyed the bike ride along here - it flows sweetly and it was not busy with muggles today

A quick and easy find. Thanks
A day spent driving up and down the Hutt Valley finding one or two caches.
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheer

One of three caches found whilst enjoying a bike ride along part of the river trail this afternoon. Didn’t take long to find. I hadn’t read the description fully, so wasn’t expecting to come across something this size! #1749. TFTC.
Find #2832. Cycling from Maymorn to Petone via Whitemans Valley (40 kms), collecting caches along the way. Have done this route before so not many new ones to find. Wasn't expecting to see another ammo can so nice surprise. Lid had to be refastened. SL TFTC
Had to wait for a cyclist to pass, but then I made the find. I was a bit uneasy reaching my hand in there, but the cache was closer than I thought. Nice place to sit and sign the log. Tftc visiting from Maryland, USA
Riding the river trail today. Started at Melling station car park and turned around north of Trentham Memorial Park. Needed to find a cache container big enough for a TB. Left TB Rumble but did not have any inside to swap.
A nice sized cache and an easy find too. Just the one TB in residence tonight, the Ikaroa one, taken along for a trip with me. Replaced as found in between passing dog walkers. Great little walkway, thanks for bringing me down here t t t.
After yet another long day in 'class' I was yearning a few caches afterwards to get the wind in my (thinning) hair and a drop of golden sunshine too. Having started to chip away at those caches in close proximity I'm starting to cast my beady eye a bit further afield now in search of treasure and managed a nice little haul and still back in good time before dark. A few Broadband cabinet caches, a couple of Puzzle caches and general satisfaction with my little trip this evening.
T F T C to all the Cache owners.

Nice track and the fact that it is a flood prone area gives you a clue as to how it would sit and survive.
A short walk to GZ and soon had the cache out of its hiding place. Very peaceful place, but the river was running fast after heavy rain. Dropped TB. tft decent sized cache.
I was staying at the nearby Silverstream Resort for a Youth and Children's ministries conference over the weekend. Sherlock the Puppy asks if I want to go find a cache or two over the weekend- he had a daily streak to maintain, after all! Well, of course I wanted to, so having arrived on Friday at the resort, and Sherlock The Puppy had already made his find of the day, a plan was hatched to head out after an early breakfast on Saturday, in order to be back for the workshops.
After roping in a couple of extra sets of eyes, who "came along for the walk", we headed down the hill, crossed the road, and wandered along to this cache. We let one of the muggles of the group find it, who was impressed with the cool ammo can.
TFTC... now back for the workshop!

I arrived at nearby Silverstream Retreat Centre last night to help coordinate a conference there for youth leaders over the weekend. In amongst the business however... I needed to keep up my daily caching streak... that is how I came to be looking for this one. Once I arrived at GZ it was a nice quick find... exactly what I needed for today. The Quiet Pool however, wasn't so quiet as the river seemed quite high today and flowing rather quickly. The cache itself is in good condition and so was the log book. I also took a trackable. So thank you trails trails trails for taking the time to set up this cache. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so and for bringing me to this very cool spot. Nice job!
I had quite a big day today. I ended up catching the last train to Melling. Luckily my wife came down to pick me up. After dinner, I decided to take a drive out here to look for this one in the rain.
The cache is in good condition. All nice and dry inside. Took 2 TBs.
Thank you

No one fishing today, lots of muggles with doggles though. We had to be quick. Retrieved one TB and left another one. Thanks for placing a cache in a very pleasant area.
It's nice to find a good sized cache hidden in an accessible place. I spotted four TBs here - grabbed one to move along. I was muggled while photographing the others for later logging. Fortunately I was nowhere near the hiding place. I wonder the passers-by made of it!

Quick easy find during a cycle with my young son. Always enjoy finding an ammo container, and this one was chocker block with trackables. Picked up a handful and dropped another one into the mix.

Thought I'd drop down to check this cache as I could do with a walk by the river. All good and the new track surface is wide and well packed. Picked up a trackable to move on and dropped a couple off that I'd picked up in Ohiwa. Cheers.
This trail has been closed recently for improvements as it was getting a little ropey in places.
They've done an excellent job and I was chuffed to see it had opened on the very day I decided to take the bike down the river.
Cache in great condition, a little exposed so I gave it a bit more cover.

Hooray a big cache! Found on our bike ride along the river. Lovely paths. TFTC
On a walk from Silverstream to Stokes Valley and back. Had a look when heading south but no luck. More determined look on way back. How did I miss that? nice collection of trackables, left most and took one to move on. Thanks for the great cache.
Great hide - found after 15min, lots of climbing behind trees! Thank you for a great cache
Made the trek along the river today to deposit some of the trackables I collected during a recent visit to Hawaii (O'ahu). Beautiful sunny day for a stroll. Cache retrieved and replaced. Thanks for the cache (esp one large enough for trackables!)
Down in Stokes Valley today with D6NZ visiting friends and thought we would grab a few caches while we were there. Rain was not our friend today but that was not hoing to stop us.
We spent a little time looking for this one and gave up. Checked the next tree on the way back to the car and bingo.
Cheers.

Heading off to Stokes Valley today to do visit some friends and do some caching on the way and some when we get there . It was starting to rain when we got to Stokes Valley
Rain rain and more rain while walking the Hutt river walk way it would have been a pleasant walk if not for the rain
Gps was about 12 meters out from where the cache was located

Exactly as described. The lad found it and was excited as it's our first ammo box.
