Back for another look. Still can’t find. Having looked before and seen the remnants of a cache I’m curious to think that there’s a “throw down” in place?
CO check is warranted on this one. Can’t see where the previous contents could be placed a a micro!? Possibly a throw down in play … also container description needs updating
Took three of us quite a while. Very obvious when you realised where it is. Loved it!
Found while visiting Whyalla for a few days with Team Waldron and TeamAstro, with the aim of finding as many caches as possible in Whyalla and surrounds. Day 1 saw us travel up from Adelaide and tour the very scenic coastline around Port Bonython and Point Lowly. On Day 2 we headed out to the Fill In The Gaps (FITG) series, then to Iron Knob and back via the First To Find Power Trail (FTF PT) series. On Day 3 we cached in and around the City of Whyalla, and on Day 4 we made our way out to Whyalla Conservation Park before heading for home. Thanks for the cache fishingmad!
Away for a few days with Featherwaite and Team Astro.
The plan was to get all the whyalla caches as well as the FTF series and the FITG caches.
Nearly got them all, just a few left for next time.

Thanks fishingmad, we had a great time today.
Thanks fishingmad, we had a great time today.
Not for us today. Our sneaky Whyalla day trip hasn’t turned out so well today, DNFs in the double figures, finds in the single!
Hopefully we can rectify this next trip!
Happy caching and safe travels!

The Non Wangaratta Event Tour 2021!
Covid has postponed the Mega in Victoria until January but leave had been granted for AnyMules to attend with me and Bushfire. So Anymules and I went on a tour to Eyre Peninsular and mid north South Australia instead whilst Bushfire joined us in spirit only as covid meant he couldn't come here either. Not needing anything for my yearly goals I hoped I didn't add too many to the DNFs [B)]
Day 1: Getting to our Whyalla digs:
A bumpy drive up the hill and we soon had the cache in hand after a short search.
Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers from over fifty to single digits. That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]
***Thanks fishingmad for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

In Whyalla for a weekend of motorsport on the fire crew grabbing caches while in the area TFTC
Full time nomads since 2013. Still tootling around the country trying to avoid Covid hotspots.
Back in SA for harvest work. Heading to Port Pirie but 4 days ahead of schedule so a quick detour to Whyalla was in order.
Had to visit Toyota and this was the nearest cache after that.

Trapped around over the open space admiring the views and the piles of rocks until I stumbled upon the one I needed. Thanks for bringing me here.
After many attempts at searching for this one, today we finally found it. Tftc
This weekend, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed to Point Lowly and Whyalla to scuba dive with the cuttlefish, who annually migrate there over the winter months to breed. The cuttlefish were plentiful, with the largest groups that I had seen from several prior visits there. Whyalla was a good little city, but unfortunately due to COVID-19, a number of steelworks and mine tours had been cancelled in the current times.
Our final day in Whyalla, and so we decided to do some local sightseeing/geocaching around Whyalla's old centre of town. This also involved a drive up a local hill. We then visited a few multi-caches around the area, including Whyalla's airport, and on its outskirts where there were some obvious 4WD and MTB tracks around the place. Our final adventure was a 4WD trip up Mount Laura, of which we had some nice views of the quarry below/nearby. We then detoured to back home via Iron Knob, where again the town was rather quiet, and we couldn't see many views of the nearby mine. It was then time to head home to Adelaide, driving back through Port Augusta.
Some nice views from up here. This cache was hidden in plain sight; that is how it is done! The coordinates were perfect actually at 0 m. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks fishingmad for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Up we went and made it almost a drive by! Keep it open up here. A nice view all around. Cache was a stone's throw from the car [:o)]
Out with Jack and Sebastbat for a little June Long Weekend fun of our own - as this year's event was thwarted by a naughty virus! Headed out, umm, thataway... plenty of little boxes on the map to be turned into smilies
Only just making a small dent in the geomap for Whyalla and a bit to the west.
Sorry logs a bit generic as so many to do.
thanks for the cache fishingmad

All the best caches are hidden at a safe social distance
(161m apart, though preferably not vertical distancing !!! )
Caching never stops with some serious help from soap, water, and especially alcohol...
( Good for cache cleanliness and coping with puzzles ! )
Once cacher per 4sqm is easily achieved
Space is good. Fresh air is good. Exercise is good. The great views are very good.
#washyourhands - we don't know where the cache has been!
Gloves are handy - but only if you change them between finds !
#washyourhandsagain please
Support the regions! Hide a cache in the Barossa and another
#keepwashingyourhandsagainandagain
[xx(] If you stay "Covidsafe" you may just avoid a whole bunch of other nasty germs this flu season too
Hand hygiene and keeping safe distances can reduce your chance of common cold, flu, pneumonia, gastro, and a whole bunch of other nasties, as well as that corona thing
Ease your restrictions carefully. But get out and keep fit!
Enjoy caching. It's good for your physical and mental health

Tricky but 2nd set of our 4 caching eyes spotted it after the 1st ignored it. Out biking with Juju54.... TFTC
Day 2 of my 4-Day Geocaching adventure and this one up on the hill with stunning views of Whyalla, was 1st cab off the rank this morning [^]
As i approached GZ i noticed sheets hanging in the trees nearby resembling a tent shape. It was then i knew a homeless person was camped here... {"Nice choice of real estate matey"} I would pop a house up here too, not a problem at all
I was very slow and quiet as to not potentially disturb him as i searched for the cache. Luckily for me the search was less than a minute thanks to deadly accurate co-ords {If there was a place where i needed co-ords to be 'dead-on' here was it [:o] }

Camo style, for us it was 2m west of GZ. Glad we kept looking. Able to leave 2 small swaps.
There’s always another cache...
Thanks fishingmad. and clear skies from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

Was a fun find. When we found it we thought it was something else as we all looked at it for a few minutes

I think I got lucky or it is because the co-ords are spot on, that I found this very quickly!
Spending a few days in Whyalla and found a few cache, or 300!
Had managed to solve all the puzzles before coming over too.
Of the nearly 300 found on the trip over and back from Adelaide, 95% were found within 50km of Whyalla Central, with approx a dozen dnfs also. Amongst all the finds was my 17000th find.
Also managed a lot of 'unloved' finds too.
What is it with Whyalla and mint tins? lol
TNLNSL
Thanks

We are on a 10 day holiday from Bendigo to Whyalla to swim with the giant cuttlefish.
Today we have a rest day after 2 successful swim/snorkel/scuba days and we headed off to explore a bit more of Whyalla using caches as our guide before we have to start the pack up. Great drive up and the view was very worthwhile just on dusk.

On the road to the Alice Springs Mega with LuckyL10n and Albida33. We headed through Burra and Port Pirie before arriving in Port Augusta for the trek up the highway. Collected a good number of caches and all were found with no issues and the logs were soon signed. (Some logs were signed as S.A.L. to save space.)
Thanks for the cache and fun in getting to it and finding it.

Alice trip 2017. Day 6. With Sol de Lune and LuckL10n we spent today caching around Whyalla during a bit of s detour on our drive to Alice Springs. Heaps of caches with lots of DNFs we skipped but me managed a good day of caching. A great place to see Whyalla from.
Thanks.

#6542 - 08:55; Day 8 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune and albida33, so most logs were signed S.A.L. as a result. Caching in and around Whyalla today and along the roads into and out of town we collected 69 finds and 6 DNFs. We visited many places of interest today in our travels and most of our finds were in good condition. Found a track into the area near GZ and after a short search, turned up the cache. TFTC fishingmad
I wanted to come up here for the view as well as the caches, and I wasn't disappointed. Took some photos and found this cache after a reasonable search.
Came up here on the way to work this morning.
When I wandered over and saw where it was hidden I almost turned around and walked away.
I dont have much luck at these location.
I however decided on one quick look around and was very surprised to come up a winner

Almost a drive by, parked near the communications tower, then a short walk to GZ, Great views of Whyalla. Scattered showers approaching, cache in good order and found quickly blended in well. Thanks fishingmad for the cache. SL cheers from diggers09.
Found by Mary & David at 0830. We're heading to the Barossa and home early next month. At least you didn't put a nano here. Marvellous views. Our thanks to fishingmad.
