#14793 10:00A good find while in Wollongong to play a game of Monopoly with Brewmaker and Curlybunny666.TFTC
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Staying at Coledale camping reserve, today we had a lazy day not heading out until 11.00am We had a plan to attempt Dark Side of the Moon and 3 puzzles that Mrs Felix had solved. We had a deadline to be home at 3pm for an appointment and it was 1.50pm when we were dodging the mulcher near GZ. Nice cache.TFTC mizmaz
Found with Mrs BillHill, doing some around the Wollongong Areas, Getting away from Lake Macquarie for a couple of days, on this fine Autumn day.

Locating it took much longer to find than I thought it would, that's why the favourite point was given.

Visiting to drop a TB, discovered cache itself was missing. Good time to do some maintenance with fresh clue and attachment (about 30cm from where it was last logged a year ago) but same themed container.
Day 14 of our 2 week road trip south from Brisbane. After overcoming floods, a bogged car and vehicle electrical issues, we finally reached Canberra to spend a few days with relatives before continuing south for a loop around the Snowy Mountains. From there we headed towards Eden to commence the run north towards home following along the coastline.
Not sure when I solved this puzzle but this cache happened to be just down the road from our overnight accommodation. I actually went down to have a look after dinner last night but by the light of my phone I was unable to spot anything other than an old football laying unclaimed. This morning as we were checking out I ducked down for another look. In between passing joggers I had another cursory look but had no success. As I stood reading the cache page on my phone I happened to glance in just the right direction and spotted something worthy of further inspection. Cache was soon located and the logbook signed. TFTC

Been sitting on this one for a while, and searched through sand dunes several times. After a quick PAF to Roo and Tribe, turns out i had 1 digit wrong. A quick recalc and we were back on the right path. The rain started coming, but on a rare kid free night, we got there in the end. Amazing cache. Tftc
Many thanks for the cache. I'm staying in the nearby hospital and finding caches during the allocated leave.
Find 344 for the tribe.
Solved the puzzle quite some time ago and was out getting some late night exercise with geodog and happened upon this spot with nobody in sight, couldn't resist going for it.
Cache located after a brief hunt in the dark. Cache and log in great condition. Signed log and replaced as found.
An awesome themed puzzle cache, with a nice suprise at the end which fits the theme, and a great history lesson. TFTC Mizmaz!

Jingle jangle it all comes back! Apologies for very late log. Just happen to be in LOCKDOWN and have some DOWNTIME and discovered a list of DRAFTS! TFTC and the fun.
I have had this one 95% complete for ages now I just never found myself in the area to finish it off. I retrieved the last piece of information I needed before heading off to gz for a quick find. I loved the container too! Thank you for the cache!
Out with Mrwhiskers76 today, going through the list of puzzle caches we’ve had our eye on for sometime. we made our way down south in the thick fog. A few muggles out and about nearby. The container added to the character of this cache. Thank you for an interesting puzzle!
Solved this ages ago and left it in the bank until we were in area today. Found quickly in the heat and wind. We grabbed the cash/cache but left the cash as it's of no use as legal tender anymore. Ironically, we found 20 cents in the trad just up the road. But I left that behind too. TFTC
Etching closely to my next milestone of 800 finds, I had to try and slow my newly converted muggle brother until I could get to log a cache from my mentor.
Continuing on in the tradition of my first, fiftieth, hundredth etc being one put out by mizmaz or being out on a cache run with my mentor when I’ve hit this milestone.
Having had the puzzle solved for quite some time I’ve struggled to delay the find.
Having a new caching buddy has given me that kick to get back out and start caching again.
So here it is......number 800. Thanks for another hide Maz....99 till you find out which one is next

Something looks quite out of place here. Quick PNF. Very high muggle area though
With social restrictions easing and reviewers agreeing it’s safe to start publishing new caches, I’m re-enabling this hide (subject to ongoing monitoring of the situation). As we get out in the field again, it’s up to all of us to stay covid free so please continue to take precautions while playing the game… for yourselves and others.
Despite warnings to stay home in a global health crisis, I’m amazed at those continuing to venture out and log finds, especially new account holders (evident by 10 or less smileys to unknown names). As a responsible CO, I am temporarily disabling all my hides (urban or remote and unloved) until “social exposure” guidelines are lifted. This is for the safety of the finders, those that follow you and those that think it is ok to venture out because someone else did. Any finds recorded before the cache is re-enabled will be deleted so your risk will have been for nothing. Thanks for understanding and stay safe!
We are on our tiny tour of Australia. Mostly enjoying the area, seeing a bit of Australia and picking up caches when possible.
We first looked at this puzzle, after talking (messaging) the CO in January of 2018 regarding some puzzles in Oahu. Loved the history on this puzzle and the jingle... that is going to take a while to get out of my head. Welcome to the decimal dollar system. It's about the only thing we've got going for us right now. Now, if we could just get you to drive on the 'right' side of the road.
When planning this trip, we ran across this puzzle again - and solved it again, forgetting that we had solved it a couple years ago. D'oh! Then we recognized the CO's name. It HAD to be one on our final must find list.
When we couldn't find a parking place nearby (traffic - ack!), so R-Turtle did her 'tuck-dive-roll' to the curb, while C-Turtle circled the block. Finding the cache was quick, with all in good shape.

Found with nissan65. Nissan came to visit me in hospital today so after being granted some leave we headed out to pick up a couple of the local caches that we hadn't collected yet. Thankyou for the cache
We headed down to Wollongong from Sydney to celebrate the 86th birthday of Mr Gaztek’s mother with a seafood buffet at the Novotel North Beach. Of course, we had to add a cache to the day. We had fun researching this mystery and humming the jingle the night before. We had guessed the answer to question E but parked near the waypoint anyway. We walked over to check our work and were inspecting the installation when a local passerby shouted out to us “You don’t have to pay on the weekends!” Very kind but also pretty funny. We walked over to GZ and found the cleverly hidden container. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
Found on way home from GIFF event. Lots of muggles heading for the stadium. But managed to log without any troub l es. Thanks mizmaz, gets a fav from me.
Running out of caches in walking distance from the hotel I had to startsolving the Mysteries
Solved partially ladt night, partially during lunch break today.
Walked around the caches all past three nights when caching around in Wollongong.
Thank you for good lesson from history

Found on a visit to the east to attend the OZGeomuster 2019 The Gong with my geo mate endeavour3. Much silliness and fun was had over many kilometres of safe driving and long walks. There was some rain, mud, clouds but mostly clear blue skies and hellos to lots of geo friends from all around.

Arranged with Rapidlywild to head up to the Gong for the Oz Muster as only one of the FFLL team would be able to attend this time. Accommodation booked so we were all ready to roll. We had already knocked off the Light house series a few weeks ago and the Scout series quite some time ago so it was going to be easy going for us. Had a lot more time to do all the lab caches and adventure labs and other caches around the area.
Last one for us tonight as it started to lightly rain. Quick find at GZ with only one muggle jogging by to wait for.
Thanks for the puzzle and hide mizmaz and thanks Rapidlywild for another enjoyable weekend away.

A weekend adventure up at the Gong with FFLL#1 was planned and put into action. We had already done the scout series, and we had collected the lighthouse series a few weekends prior to the event. This meant we had more time to dedicate to the Adventure Labs, Older caches and some more unique caches. Was a great weekend away and always alot of fun with FFLL.
Knew most the answers to these questions without any research.... not sure that is a good thing or not lol. Nice easy find here tonight
Thanks for the cache placement and maintenance mizmaz

The journey to the mega resulted in a lot of driving, with a few select cache finds, due to the distance I had to travel. If only there was time to find them all! Once at “The Gong” as there are so many caches, yet again, sadly, only some could be attempted. I managed to work this one out without visiting the posted coordinates. Crank1 was doubtful of my abilities, questioning the location. I checked it in google earth, it’s good! I exclaimed. The only thing that wasn’t good was the timing. Thinking the area would be quieter at night was a mistake. Oops! Thanks for placing the cache mizmaz
We solved this one over the last couple of days and decided to visit it this afternoon before the Pre Mega catch up event. You do need to go to the posted coordinates to solve the puzzle. The cache was found quickly by Mrs Shifter while watching some nearby muggles play a game, even in the rain. It could be very difficult to complete this cache at times.
Thanks for the hide mizmaz.

New camo made and re-installed less than 2 metres from the original spot. Formula remains the same (as close enough) however clue has been updated.
Looks like GZ has undergone some extensive landscaping and cache/camo removed along with some trees. Will need to re-make and assess new position nearby.
Really nice cache! Didn't have a pen so I took a photo to prove I found it without giving anything away. TFTC!
TFTC! Due to some business of part of the team I had a whole couple of hours to roam around this area in Wollongong. I started at the mini memories amd after logging a DnF there proceeded to solve and get this one. Really interesting and amusing, I enjoyed it a lot! Thanks for hiding and maintaining! FP well deserved!
Visiting Wollongong for the day I decided to grab a smiley before heading back...well maybe a few of them.
This was quickly worked out and it got me closer to my destination so grabbed it. I like your idea. Most muggles would walk right by though it's right in their face.

Found this multi while doing another multi nearby. I remember collecting my first 5c piece from the local milk bar the Sunday after .I had to look at my coin collection , which I still have, for some answers ,with mint 1c and 2c on a little cardboard cover, and the date they were issued. The answer to one question was in my memory and the cache jingle " clink, clink, clink"..
Muggles walking around at GZ caused a delay, but soon found, nice hide,My niece was married just over there.........

First attempt saw us go to the wrong place, went back and found the parking meter that gave us the correct coordinates and we soon had the CIH. Really enjoyed figuring this one out. TFTC
Annual maintenance completed in time for second anniversary of cache publication (and 52nd anniversary of decimal currency!).
Note, the log book is designed to fit the container without the need to squish it down so tightly it gets damaged. Please return all parts of cache gently and respect the environment in which it's placed.

I had this one sitting right near me for a while. I don't do too many of the puzzle caches but this sneaky one turned out to be right near where I go jogging
I was heading up to Wollongong lighthouse today chasing one of the Rats moveable mystery caches then afterwards I had a few hours up my sleeve so off to go grab a few solved mysteries and anything else in between unfortunately I had a few DNFs but I found this one
I had solved this sometime back but went over it again lastnight just to freshen up on it.
I arrived at my likely GZ and soon noticed the odd object, all clear of muggle I checked it out and soon had CIH...woo-hoo.
Cool cache, first ive seen like that, great puzzle too def worthy of a fav point,

After avoiding this cache for so long (like i do with most mystery/multis) I finally spent last night solving all the question to head out today and mark it off my map! TFTC mizmaz. Maybe next one can be some modern questions for a youth like me hahaha
A day-trip on a beautiful earlier summer day to go caching in The Gong (and a few en route). Tally for the day 14.

This cache and another mystery (GC11GBP Old South) were the reason for this drive down from Sydney.
In hope of ending on a high-note, I left these two until last. So this one is the final find of the day.
And it really is a climax. Zillions of muggles passing by at very close range and a few peering down from nearby condominia. But managed to wait until a break to make the ( _very careful_ - according to CO's instructions) grab. Having a bike always helps in such environments. A faux puncture can give you a 20-minute alibi

What a fantastic hide!! Had a lot of fun figuring this one out!! Like always, it was the VERY first thing that caught my eye but like always i didnt pay it enough attention. Wandered through activity log for more hints and stood there scratching my head for a while. Trusted my gut and went back to square 1 to investigate further. Should know by now to always trust my geocaching gut. Fantastic hide!!! TFTC!!
After working out what we thought were the coordinates and wasting time going to the wrong GZ, we decided to do Google checks for the answers over a late lunch. Went to correct GZ and spotted cache when driving up the street.

Visiting the gong for a few days so decided to take ourselves on a self guided geo tour through this morning - having resolved the puzzle before we arrived gave us a GZ quite close to our accommodation so we started out here. After a short scratch of the head the geo senses honed in on the clever hide.
Thanks for the find!

Apologies to watchers waiting for this one to come back online. Cache has actually been back in place for a few weeks but the area around GZ was affected in recent storms and I needed to make sure the new spot (less than a metre from the original so calculations will not be affected) was not going to suffer muggle interference.
Please note that the log can be accessed by **removing the lid only.** If it's a little tight, just twist slightly but do not remove whole container from it's camouflage. Think this is what compromised the attachment when it went came adrift. Thanks to Ironbark for his eagle eye spotting and returning cache to me intact so I can get it back online.

Well had an interesting day with five finds out of eight. Went down to Wollongong to grab a couple of puzzle caches I had done and meet up with some friends for a bit more caching. Only found two of my puzzles and could only grab a few with my friends before I had to leave for an appointment.
Had met up with Nacki22, Halcyon123 and her geokid. This was my last for the day. I had done this puzzle at home and came up with some good coords even without seeing ID#. Looked at ID# and my calculations were validated!!! Pretty quick find...geokid was interested in the coins. Thanks for a fun one.

Overlooked GZ at first but a team effort got us there in the end. Thanks to nacki22 and happyuke for a fun geoday
As it is holiday time, decided to have a 'geoday' with Halcyon123 and Happy Uke. This time we decided to try for some near my home grounds. Ended up with 7 finds out of 9 attempts, pretty pleased with that effort!!!
Have to admit that Happy Uke did the hard work for this one! We just provided help finding a final number, moral support and extra sets of eyes once at GZ. TFTC

Not a problem with these questions as I grew up with that system. I remember having to go to town with my Nan and help her with the money as we were shopping when the changeover happened. I always remember feeling very important to be trusted by my mother and father with this task while still in senior primary.

I have to confess that I know nothing of the old system. Not because it was before my time but I grew up in a place that knew of one system only. We used no decimal, tho I suppose it had them. Instead, we just thought of pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and more recently loons and toons. So solving this puzzle was the brain work of ATCF. I was otherwise out of my depth, tho happy to ride her coat-tails and claim this cache as my own too.

Thought I had the puzzle solved at home, made a few assumptions and came up with some coords. Checked on google maps and it seemed a very reasonable spot. Today I had a few minutes spare and parked at the end of a very suitable street and started walking towards GZ on the bike track. With only 15 meters to go I hit the sand of the beach and started to doubt my coords. Still checked, but no cache at gz??
Heavily disapointed I walked back enjoying the surroundings and I was only 30 meters from the car when something attrackted my eye. Can't hurt to check it out I thought and what do you know!!

Continuing my theme of clearing my backlog of local caches I headed out this afternoon to grab a few more Wollongong CBD caches.
An appropriate cache for this time of life but I don't think its a coincidence. After checking a few sights and botching one question I soon had a possible location. As Mrs Rat and I walked around the harbour today I soon had this one in hand. Good camo at GZ.
Thanks mizmaz

I was in Wollongong today working and had to have a break to make some phone calls so headed for the co-ordinates and was lucky enough to park right next to the item that was required for "E". Well that was easy so I started searching for the other answers on my I-Pad and soon had the required co-ordinates for GZ. I punched them into my Tom-Tom and soon found a parking spot 20 meters from GZ. I had to retrieve my GPS from the boot of my vehicle for the final stage, and it was then I spotted this brochure laying in the grass right next to my vehicle. I had to take this as a omen that my calculations were right! It wasn't long before I located the excellently camouflaged cache, complete with some historical coinage, which can be used to educate junior cachers. Well out of all the caches I have done this is the first one that had litter nearby relevant to the cache, many thanks enjoyed the research and the song brought back memoirs as I would have only been 6 years old in Feb 1966.
I liked this one- the page and puzzle were good to do and the final cache is excellent too! I saw some of the who ha recently about the 50th anniversary and even picked up some coins from the mint. TFTC!
Spent the day picking up a few lonely caches on the map. 9 Finds, 1 (Re)Hide - Well rounded day!
Ahh, this one definitely took me back down memory lane [^]
After sleeping in, I check my phone to the delight of a new Mystery cache published in The Gong (& already been found)! I bounced out of bed and straight onto the laptop to get solving. I quickly found some media that helped me answer a few of the answers. After no more than 5 minutes on the puzzle, I had a set of co-ords that looked nice enough.
After driving down, I found myself some convenient nearby parking.
Soon after, I had a very well constructed and themed Cache In Hand!
Third To Find - Not a bad feat!
Thanks MizMaz for the timely puzzle and well-crafted hide.

I had just sat down with a cup of coffee in the office when it dawned on me; there was a new cache published yesterday 3km east of home... that's got to be very close to the office! So I opened it up, and it was still unfounded.
I knew some answers, and googled a few more. Armed with what I had, I headed off to walk to the listed waypoint. With the last answer now known, I walked down an appropriately named street, wondering if it was still unfound.
As soon as I got to GZ I started looking, and then heard running feet and someone yelling, "Sprung!" It was Jim from J+J.au. Seconds later I had the virgin cache in hand. He was *just* in time to claim a joint FTF.
Cheers for the puzzle, now back to the office and my cold coffee.

*Yea!* joint '*FTF*' with Hoojar
I took a look at this one this morning and soon had some worthwhile co ordinates so I checked in with the Co only to find some errors that were soon sorted once I was in town. After travelling over 60 kilometers to attempt first you can imagine my face when I spotted another geocacher about to make a claim.
I enjoyed the little history and nostalgic research with a good use of the common theme. Nice work on the hide and thanks for the help. Good to catch up with you albeit brief Greg.

We remember c-day from our first year at high school so some answers were known but some needed 'revision'. A mistake at E had us heading towards West Wollongong but figured that can't be right so rechecked - warning: the large number on the side of the bandit is NOT its ID number. Very nice construction, especially the antiques attached. Found it less obvious to onlookers to retrieve from behind. TFTC. Favourite tick for the nostalgia.
