Greetings from Germany/Luxembourg
Danke fr diesen Geocache. Danke fr die Ausarbeitung. Danke frs Zeigen.Lieber Gru aus Duisburg / DeutschlandAndyDieser Logeintrag wird mit Hilfe von Google bersetzt.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________We set off on a long journey with 37 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Three weeks to Australia and New Zealand, starting with a stopover in Doha, Qatar. I have never been so long and so far away from home. An exciting time. When geocaching, the focus was on many different cache types, but also special ratings, challenges and especially a few very old caches from the years 2000 and 2001. But also, of course, especially the geocaches that were easily accessible on foot from the hotel.Of course, the focus wasn't just on geocaching; the sights of the individual stations we visited also deserved attention. We entered our team name Downunder 2024 in the logbooks, saving logbook space and efficiently. It was a very special trip in a large team, which was also a lot of fun.Today was travel day and we went from Melbourne to Cairns.Due to the large number of caches, there is usually only one standard log, for which I would like to apologize to the different owners. Thanks for this geocache. Thanks for the elaboration. Thank you for showing me.Kind regards from Duisburg / GermanyAndyThis log entry is translated with the help of Google.
We have traveled with 36 likeminded geocachers to Australia and New Zealand resulting in lots of opportunities for sightseeing and geocaching. The logbooks were mostly signed under the teamname "Team DownUnder24" and answers were sent to owners for the group, as appropriate. Together with 36 other geocachers, the KiSt team undertook a very long trip to Australia ???? and New Zealand ???? for three weeks. On both the outward and return journeys, there was a stopover in Doha, the capital of Qatar ????.We experienced a great deal on this trip and gained many very different impressions of the two countries, their nature and their culture. Of course, the main focus was on visiting as many caches of as many different types as possible and also all accessible old cans. However, we also made sure to visit many special places of interest and to gain as comprehensive an impression as possible of nature and its flora and fauna. To save the logbooks, we usually signed in with our team name **Downunder24**. For "special" cans, however, we have not missed the opportunity to leave our nickname as well. This beautiful cache is now also one of our finds.Due to the large number of caches visited, it is unfortunately not possible for us to write an individual log for each can, which is why we would like to apologize to the owners for this collective log.We also met other cachers at some of the events and were able to share our experiences. Many thanks to the event owners!Of course we would like to thank all the owners for showing us the great locations, the sometimes tricky puzzles, exciting multis and wherigos, as well as the interesting virtuals and earth caches - TFTC!!!---In der Besetzung KiSt unternahmen wir zusammen mit 36 weiteren Geocachern fr drei Wochen eine sehr weite Reise nach Australien ???? und Neuseeland ????.

# 21442Whau, I am on a three week trip with Cacher-Reisen and a bunch of fellow geocachers to Australia and New Zealand. It is so odd to imagine that I am going to visit a place that is nearly on the opposite of the globe from my usual hangouts. In Denmark it is late winter/early spring, and I am exchanging the winter-part for late summer in Australia and early autumn in New Zealand. This is so exciting. The itinerary is Frankfurt (Germany), Doha (Qatar), Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns (Australia) and Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington, Blenheim, Christchurch, Dunedin, Cromwell, Queenstown (New Zealand) before flying back to Europe. That will be two new continents and three new countries for me - and as far away from home as I have ever been. It is a lot of places and travelling, but we also have a plan to find lots of geocaches and see the sights and beautiful nature. In the wee hours of the night we all got up to go to the airport, headed for the next destination in Cairns. It turned out that that was not the right element for me with the heat and humidity. I had made arrangements to join the group on two boattrips, and all in all with a bit of seasickness, fatigue, jetlag and much more I think I would have been better off staying at the hotel. However, looking back on the trip now, I am happy that I went and also saw this part of Australia. Thankfully we also found a few caches in the area. Some went diving and swimming, some went exploring, some went relaxing. In the heat and humidity I went too far. We joined a boattrip with submerged bottom and glasspanes to see the marine life under the surface. Looking back this was not the best for me under the circumstances. But we had time to go for a walk on the island and relax in the shade before sailing back to Cairns.Tak for cachen til mp__mp.

A group of 38 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland - Team Downunder24 - are traveling for 22 days from Frankfurt/Main via Doha to Australia and New Zealand. I was able to discover many wonderful things and irretrievable experiences are burned into my memory. We took the speedboat to Green Island and I felt a little nauseous. While some went snorkeling, we took the glass-sided boat to marvel at the beautiful corals and especially the blue fish with yellow tails. The answers were sent out to the group. Thanks to mp-mp for the cache, luring and caring for it - kind regards from Switzerland

Visiting from Prince Edward Island, Canada. Visited Green Island while on a tour of the Great Barrier Reef. Thanks for a very interesting cache.
We visited Green Island on our way back down the Qld coast sailing south on our gap year trip. Luckily we had a few calmer wind days to be able to get away from Cairns with our visitors from NSW and look at some of the reefs. We were pleasantly surprised how nice Green Island was and not overrun with tourists despite several large ferries coming & going all day. We snorkelled near the jetty and were quite impressed by the abundance of fish concentrated into the small area of patchy coral. Had a great experience swimming with a friendly turtle too. The boardwalk has a plethora of information & we had a nice stroll around the island before heading back to our catamaran for the night. Answers sent to CO.#3635TFTC mop_mop
We were here on a (half) day trip [absolutely too short] and enjoyed it! It was the first real snorkeling experience for our 4 years old daughter and she has seen lots of colourful fishes.No. 251

Apologies for the late log here (01.01.24) but I've had a busy time since getting back to the UK.Wow, wow and wow again. I jumped on a boat (at the last moment) on a whim and found myself here with this cache saved to my phone. Happily I was able to gather the info needed during an enjoyable look around (with no climbing; looking at you, Fitzroy Island!) and some touristic bobbins; a glass-bottomed boat trip, etc. FP+1 for a memorable/special experience here, well worth the cost. Answers coming via Messenger. Non-spoiler photo of me on the island uploading...TNLN-Virtual. TFTEC!SP (UK) on an epic trek right around the world.
I am currently working on a scientific research vessel in the waters around Moore Reef. Due to strong winds of more than 30knots out at the reef, we unfortunately were not able to complete all planed work and instead steamed over to Green Island for some shelter from the waves and swell over night. After now being a week at sea it was great to step on land again. After a short visit to the beach I was able to complete this Earthcache while enjoying the scenery before I had to head back on the ship again. All answers have been sent to the CO. Thanks a lot möp__möp for creating Green Island and this interesting geology lesson.
We loved our day on Green island.
Highlights were the birdlife, the underwaterworld, the boat rides and I was grateful that there is an earth cache!
Thanks möp_möp for explaining the Cay.

First visit to Green Island. Lots of tourists this time of the year, but plenty of facilities to entertain oneself. Great summary of the island and natural formations provided along the boardwalk. ️
Great Northern escape 2022 Day 55. Atherton to Cairns (again) Day 6. Green Island Day. I decided that since I was in Cairns, should do a trip to the reef. I have not been to Green Island before and there is an Earth cache, so I decided to go. Glass bottom boat and snorkeling, a great day and amazingly calm waters for the boat trip out and back.
As I only managed one cache today it was nice to get it sorted out before starting on the days water activities.

Travelled to Cairns for my daughters 2nd birthday and couldn’t not take her and my husband to Green Island.
This morning we woke up to some pretty heavy rain while we got ready for a day trip. To say it was very wet is an understatement, the rain was very heavy and seas where extremely rough (with people sick all around us on the boat ). Rained when we first got there, but the rain stopped and the sun come out and it was absolutely beautiful. Husband hired some snorkeling gear while my 2yo and I did the glass bottom boat before walking through the island rainforest.
As we walked along the pier and headed back to get some lunch we saw 2 sea turtles swimming just off the shore. We stood there for ages just watching them! Such a beautiful spot and a great day out for all of us
Thanks for the earth cache!

What a fabulous day I enjoyed visiting Green Island. The trip out was a bit on the rough side but eventually we arrived without resorting to my stomach heaving.
The snorkelling was great fun but, unlike my granddaughter, I didn't see a turtle, I did see lots of fish though. To top off the day, I went walking along the boardwalk and found the answers to this EC. Nice to have a smiley on The Great Barrier Reef. Adding a FP.

While holidaying at Cairns, my family took a day trip to Green Island. Such a beautiful place. We saw so many turtles in the ocean. We all did the semi-submersible which was fantastic. An awesome yacht trip over to the island which we had pretty much to ourselves due to Covid,,,such a beautiful island ( which I have now learnt how it has developed) makes it even more special….Thank you for this Geo one of my favourites
It is a fantastic idea to allow us to study and visit wonderful places virtually. To visit Australia has been a dream for a long time. We have fiends in Sydney and Australia has so many interesting places to visit. Many reasons to go there, but will Karin Dollop and I ever find the opportunity.
The great barrier reef is so interesting to read about, and to hope that the environmental threats will not destroy to natural wonder

Thank you for this great idea. It is always interesting to get to know the beautiful sides of our earth virtually. After studying the area in detail, I would like to go there immediately. Will I ever get there?

One of the most beautiful places in the world to visit and so worthy of a real Natural Wonder of the World cache. Thank you for creating it.

Sent answers, visited Green Island just for the day. Enjoyed the glass bottom boat trip, walk on the board walk, lunch and then snorkeling great day topped off by a cache. Tftc
EatAllThePie and I are out on a snorkeling trip in the area today, and we got the opportunity to stop off at Green Island for a few hours. Actually, I picked the snorkeling tour specifically because I wanted to get the Green Island smiley, but that's beside the point.
This place is so beautiful! We took the boardwalk through the island, enjoyed the serenity and spent some time reading up about the history of the place. It's interesting to learn about how Green Island was created and see how it's used today.
Answers sent off to the CO, I look forward to coming back again one day to spend more time here and on the reef. Thank you for showing us this place!

Enjoyed a visit to Green Island and learned lots from the interesting boardwalk and the glass bottom boat. TFTC
Answered all the questions. Did the walk from the resort to the other side of island and had a couple of lovely snorkels. TFTC
A very interesting walk through the rain forest and back along the beach. Saw also lots of fish and coral from the glass bottom boat. A good island to visit. TFTC
Beautiful site and very interesting to learn more about the island. Last visited when I was a child. TFTC
A beautiful island, well worth the visit. Previously visited many years ago so nice to come back.
A brief stop over on our way to our snorkelling site. What a beautiful view along the jetty to the island on our arrival. Clear water and coral below. TFT EC
