No joy for me here today. It was interesting reading about the loco though.
Thanks for bringing me here.
Thanks for bringing me here.
Day One of our holiday, BettyBoo3747 and I headed towards Hamilton. Straight off night shift for me meant that BB did all the driving. I did wake up for all the caches though (and lunch!)
We didn't vandalise anything, but neither did we find the naon (hate them!)
Thanks, Robmc.

Doctor Owl and sushilord are off on a long weekend trip to find some quality caches in Mexico. We suffered the laughs, joys and frustrations normally experienced on a caching trip and bonded as geobrother and geosister.
Now for the long drag home stopping for a few caches along the way. There was a collective groan as we pulled up here. Fortunately the cache wasn't on the train.

Sushilord and Owl were heading home after their excellent Mexican adventure, but there was time for a few caches on the way home. This one was thankfully not a nano on a train, but it still requires the customary South Australian nano rant.

Bit of intuition and this cache was found. Nice place to stretch our legs on our way to gambier. Tftc
This time I managed to outwitt the nano queen and snatched this guy from his hidey hole inches from were Mrs Snorka was just searching. Our last effort for the day. TFTC
Caching our way around and checking out the sites with our Kiwi group Buller Trout and Paddle Chick after coming over for the Surf Coast Mega have signed the logs "Team NZ" thanks for the cache placements never been a fan of the nanos
Found on Mega trip with Paddle chick and Kiwi Nomad. Thanks for all of the caches. Enjoying the trip. Always wanted to come back to Victoria. A tricky find
Heading home from Warrnambool after a fantastic weekend of caching and catching up with friends we made sure we cleaned up some lonely caches along the way. Lucky we were travelling with a previous hider which made this so so much easier.
Thanks Darth Briji for the evil hide.

We had a dnf here a lil while ago and today we thought we swing in here on our way through. We went straight to the place where we looked last time and voila the cache was in hand. Tftc
Came back here today with kenare and kenbryl to have another look after our last Dnf. When we got here we went to a place we had looked before and the cache was there this time. Cigc. Tftc
We were out on a caching expedition with chooknchunk to Camperdown collecting caches as we went. As they had done this one we were left to find it ourselves. We like Toot Toots as well but as it was raining a lot today we did not muck around and soon found your cache after dodging the random people who were using this as a meeting point.

OMG we looked at the description and photo for this one, and then noticed the previous DNFs, so we didn't hold much hope of a find here. But as we approached GZ, Chunk had this one quickly under control. Not a soul around - too cold and wet. TFTC Darth Briji.
Firstly, an apology for my extremely slow logging time (logging this find on 1/7/17).
Today I was driving home from Warrnambool back to Melbourne with the intention of doing a few caches that I would never get the chance to do while in the car with the rest of my family. The highlight of the day was undobutedly Area 51, one of the best caches I've done to date. A find day of driving was had exploring some unknown territory that I have drived past many times before. This cache was the 11th find of 15 finds for the day.
Great cache this one. I was initially stumped and convinced that it was missing. After phoning a friend, I had a better idea of where I might need to look. After finding a long enough stick nearby, I soon had the well hidden cache in hand. A great little find, happy to put my name in the logbook.
Thanks Darth Briji

We looked high and low, asked a previous finder and used the endoscope but still couldn't find this cache. Cool place though. Tfth
Seaching high and low for this one with kenare and kenbryl and after a quick txt to a previous finder, still no joy.
Thankfully this didn't take as long as some of your other hides. Still managed to do the geo-dance until the GPS settled and the brain kicked in.
Actually noticed the other tractor here as we passed through to meet up with friends before I saw this bright red display on our way back.

Found a lot quicker than I thought it would take after reading logs and noticing a few DNF's.
Nice to add another smiley face to the map. TFTC

Logged as Dipstix with Dippa46. Holidays over, driving back to Ballarat and collecting a few drive by's on the way. After some fluffing around the cache was in hand and we were on our way again having seen the sights. Very interesting spot. TFTC
Passing through town on our way through to Geelong and we made a quick stop and made a surprisingly easy find, ahh the humble nano can sometimes be a curse or a sinch. Happy to make this one a smilie, thanks Darth Briji for the hide.
When arrive and parked my car. Look at the train... oh no not another one!
Found it nicely..
Thanks Darth Briji

A big day out down Skipton - Lismore -Cressy way doing a heap of awesome caches with my sister Mia and friends for a Fab event at the Skipton Caves. This side of Victoria is very different to the East i have seen. Sad to see so many dry lakes out here.
Cache was already retrieved by a group time I arrived - what a bummer this is locked off!
Thanks for showing me this old girl.
Cheers

Found during an enjoyable afternoon out around the area.
Thankfully it was a quick find today.
Great train and we have found one hidden like this before.
Very sneaky!
Thanks for the hide.

Found by Mary & David at 1528. After finding some coffee nearby, and chatting to some Geelong cachers there, we were on the scent again. We often don't do well with caches on guns and engines, but went straight to this one. Our thanks to Darth Briji.
Travelling in convoy towards the Skipton Caves event we used *the force* here.
Thanks for the cache Darth Briji
Some nice old engineering here.

Find number three in Lismore after attending the caching function at the nearby Mt Widderin Caves. We parked nearby and two of the geokids jumped out to have a look at the engine - we like trains! In the meantime I made short work of finding the cache and signing the log. A few pics of the big red machine and we were on our way...just as a familiar white beast pulled up, but with a wave to Bushfire and buzzsmc we were on our way.
Thanks Darth Briji !
Thanks Darth Briji !
After a great time at the Skipton Cave Event buzzmc and the ageing Bushfire decided to go for a drive to Derri and this guy was on our way home.
Third cache in Lismore and pulled up as the Mitchells were departing and I think placing the container back in a hurry as we had some problems retrieving but managed in the end.
I wonder why this guy is painted red when all other engines are black!!!
Well another Darth Briji cache that's two in this area, well done.

On a mission to explore the underground world in Skipton, as much as we love these old engines, it was nice not to have to climb all over this one to retrieve a smiley!
Our thanks to Darth Briji for bringing us to this location.

Grabbing a few caches in Lismore on the (very long way) to the Skipton Caves event. I had dragged hubby and our two geokids along for the day. There were a few other teams also here chasing caches! Many hands make light work (which is great as I hadn't read the cache notes and started cursing as soon as we turned the corner. Lol). Thanks for the great little "evil" cache
Finally!!! Grabbed this one today with Tomstache as we were passing through. We are sure we checked there last time and we were careful in replacing it. Thanks Darth Briji.
Heading towards Warrnambool and a great opportunity to grab some caches while in the area. A quick find after reading previous logs and knowing it was not in the train enclosure.
Thanks Darth Briji for placing & maintaining the cache for us to find.

After 3rd attempt, found it. So obvious when found, not so easy until then. Unfortunately some seekers have damaged the fence around the plinth and even part of the loco itself. You should never need to damage anything looking for a cache.
TFTC heaps
TFTC heaps
After a few circles around, and knowing that caching is not about damaging anything, it was easy to know NOT to go to the train. Persistence and patiences pays off.
Great little hide! Had me scratching my head for a little while.

A really sneaky little hide. Had to get some hints from Suscoe cachers who happened to be in town at the same time as us. Thanks to Darth Briji for the challenge.
Suscoe was heading home today after a wonderful weekend of music at Port Fairy.
This has become an annual tradition for the Suscoe's for over 25 years.
Still love the music.
Find number 6 for us here this morning.
We spent quite a bit of time here looking and looking.
We called it quits to get some lunch and emailed the CO regarding some questions we had about this location.
A reply arrived (thanks for the prompt reply) and while finishing off our lunch we decided to have one more try.
Well with luck on our side we found this one in the first place we put our hands a the start of the second search.
Thanks to Darth Briji for placing this cache in such a neat spot.

Heading to Ballarat, I thought I'd have a go at this cache. I aborted once before due to the high muggle activity in and around the pool area on a hot day. This evening, the coast was clear. My geosenses proved correct and the sneaky little blighter was soon in my hand. Thanks Darth Briji for the cache and for the history on the D3.
After thinking about a retrieval tool overnight we returned today on our way home and success!!
Can feel it, but last person put it back too high, will be back next week with a tool to retrieve it!!
Woke up this morning and decided to take a trip to Lismore to find the new caches placed and because one was still unfound.
I HATE NANOS. And this was no exception. After a few minutes though FARMVERB turned up the goods. Now how do you get it. Hmm hmm. Yep got it. Lol. Replaced as found.
Lovely place with lovely views.
Log signed and replaced.
TFTC TNLN.

Traveling past and took the opportunity to grab a couple of caches. At GZ I feared the worst but after an exhaustive search the cache was found. Signed and replaced as found.

We were not in luck today. Spent about 15 minutes looking, did not go in, just skirting the perimeter. Caching with Tomstache and littlevealies.
FTF!!!!! After deciding to take the geo son out on a driving lesson, we ended up in Lismore. Well...this little guy certainly challenged us, with children playing in the playground nearby, and my gps going all around in circles...I said to geo son, no...its not here, lets go. So off we went to find the other newly published cache that wasnt far from here.
Not wanting this to beat us, we headed back to this one, and then the walking around in circles started again, but this time there were no kids in the playground...a quick message to the CO, and we were on the right track, so to speak...so all I'm going to say now is that I'm really glad I had the geo son with me....
Thanks for the cache Darth Briji, well done!!!!
