We are on another short (three day) caching holiday in North Western Sydney, staying for two nights in a park cabin at the Ingenia Holidays Avina BIG4 Holiday Park at Vineyard. Planning on exploring the suburbs of Lalor Park, Kings Park, Marayong, Glenwood, The Ponds, Rouse Hill, Scheyville, Agnes Banks, Yarramundi, Hawkesbury Heights, and Castlereagh. Hoping to collect some more previously solved Mystery/Puzzle caches, complete some more Adventure Labs and SideTracked caches, and accumulate some more "units of fuel" for the "Cosmic Quest" souvenir challenge with a view to scoring the 100 point Ultra fuel souvenir. Our final day will have us going via Nurragingy Reserve at Doonside, for some more caching and a visit to the Nurragingy Miniature Railway, before taking the M7 & M2 Motorways back to home. Photos will be uploaded to logs on our return to home base.Today (day 1) we travelled out to Vineyard, going via the M2 Motorway from Delhi Road North Ryde to the Abbott Road Seven Hills exit, then through Lalor Park, Kings Park, Marayong, Glenwood, The Ponds, and Rouse Hill to reach our accommodation. Collected numerous Traditional caches, and a SideTracked MultiCache, that we passed along the route. This was the 12th of 16 finds for the day (day 1), and 12th find of the holiday. This cache was next on our travels, parking the geomobile on Yancannia Terrace, and then heading over to GZ with our newly created "backpack" carrier for our 3.8 metre telescopic TOTT. Arrived at GZ and deployed our TOTT, scurried up, and soon had CIH. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. Collapsed the TOTT and put it back onto the backpack carrier, then walked back to the geomobile to continue our cachey travels. TFTC Blundo Busters.Find #6995

Well that was a heart starter for early in the morning. Saw the remnants of a previous container looking rather sad. All dry inside and this fills a D/T box for me. TFTC

Working my way to Canberra for the four day mega event. Meeting up people along the way and doing a few caches of my own. I got a couple of target caches around Sydney way and the out skirts, this was one of them.I signed the log and replaced the cache as found, thanks for the hide. OMGOODNESS, How funny! So I was looking around for the cache and talking on the phone. I was wearing a yellow safety work shirt. there were a couple of people playing in the nets. As I wondered up they stopped and asked if they were allowed to be there, I laughed and said sure no problem. With that I then spotted the cache hide. The guys decided to stop practice while I retrieved the cache and then continued after I left. this was a nice hide thanks.

Muggle65 and l decided to stop to grab a DT that is in short supply at home.Thank you for the fun

I guess after the big wet no-one was coming to cricket training today. I climbed up to the cache and clung on till my fingers hurt (should have brought a specific TOTT), and almost couldn't open the over-tightened cache (left it finger tight). Once opened I couldn't remove the log paper without tearing it. May need replacing. Photo sent to CO. TFTC Blundo Busters

A quick find. Spotted this one quickly with some help from family.Cricket and climbing is my favourite sports, so right up my alley. Could have been more careful when getting the log out and cut my hand . A FP from me!

Thanks for this cache an FP from me. I love cricket so much and it was awesome when my dad saw that there was a cricket themed cache. My sister got up there very quickly and cut her hand on the wire.

Team Garbageman (myself, SNG and Classic Cache used each other as TOTTs to make the find today). Littlest one did the hardest yards here. Weirdly our good mates from Newcastle were the last finders! Small world. TNLN TFTC

We'd been in Katoomba doing some abseiling practice, so decided to veer off the motorway on the way home to find some caches. We had plans for a fair few, but time and trigs and, well Sydney got in the way, and we changed things on the fly and just went for some cool combos and dates we wanted, so ended up with a dozen trigs and 2 caches....
The satellite imagery revealed the structure, I was concerned about muggles on a warm fine day, but there were just a couple having a hit, and weren't fussed by a Dad and his son climbing the nets.... Samuel spotted it, I climbed.... TFTC....

Saw this one while scouting the area for some quick ones to grab on the way home, we mainly grabbed trigs today but we wanted this DT for our 4x4x4 Grid…

Pulled up to the nearby street and walked over, quickly spotted the container and climbed up to get it, soon had CIH and we were on our way to grab some lunch…

The hide of spot is exactly what you think. T4 is a bit of a stretch but fun cache nonetheless. TFTC

Arrived at GZ this afternoon to find the area void of muggles. On walking up, noticed the hide and after a quick scramble had the cache in hand. Spent more time retrieving the log from its container...after which we returned everything as found. Both the cache container and log are in excellent condition. Thanks for the cache Blundo Busters.

I waited 40 minutes for some people to move away. After unscrewing, I dropped it. Then I had to look in the grass. Finally found it, returned it, and headed back to the car. TFTC!

In the area for a Champion of Champions 16 yo soccer game and just had to pop a few caches beforehand. We watched two wickets fall nearby - not hit the ball twice. Then made our way to a muggle free GZ. We note that the GZ has been hit twice as the remnants of another container are there. Mrs Gaztek usually gets the gig at this type of hide as she is not height-averse. However it was a big stretch to get to it and it took a bit of one-handed effort to open the container. Down to sign the log then back up. This was harder as the thread feels rusty or just couldn’t get it on straight. Three strong turns but couldn’t close it completely. Nice one! SL TFTC Cheers… Gaztek

Out and about in Glenwood for a quick lunchtime caching session, I'm not really sure why I never attempted this cache when it was first published, I think perhaps I was a little concerned with the difficult rating? Nearly five years since it was first published, I decided it was time to find it, thankfully GZ was very quiet and the surrounding grass was long and quite boggy too. Container spotted once reached GZ and a quick ascent had me at cache-level. The container was difficult to open, seemed like the previous finder might have rushed when replacing and got the thread wrong, but I managed to extract the log without falling and returned to ground to complete the signing duties. Another ascent to return the log to the container, thankfully no injuries today! TFTC Blundo Busters!

I spotted the cache and I was able to touch it with my fingertips. But I did not had any length left to unscrew the top. I have to come back at a later time with some TOTT

After spotting the cache I made an attempt to reach it but I lacked the length. My finger tops touched the cache but I had not enough length left to firmly hold the cache to unscrew it.
As I drove away I noticed three boys of fairly good agility and I asked them to give me a hand. So back we went and as I explained the game they had the cache in hand in a very short time.

09-Jul-22
We had tried this cache some months ago, but then GZ was full with muggles that were practising cricket. Today the site was deserted, and we let the geo-granddaughter retrieve the cache from its location.

18-Apr-22
Well having recruited 3 muggles to our game at my last find I explained where I was heading and being local and knowing this GZ location they came along.

Now with 4 sets of eyes instead of just me the cache was quickly spotted. One of the muggles said 'I can get that', just as well because I couldn't have. Soon had CIH and SL and everything was replaced.
This hide gave a good opportunity to explain about the D and T ratings of cache hides - they are quickly learning!

Lots of spiders and cricketers present so could not do a thorough look. Will be back with rest of the geocache family to try again…

That was more difficult than it should have been. I was a foot too short and not well dressed to get to it easily but I did it. TFTC.

Stopped by today on the way up to Springfield/ Lapstone etc for some epic caching. In my notes I'd mentioned (presumedly ages ago) that we need this one for our 3rd loop but actually it's now our 7th 1/4 lol oops. TFTC, Blundo Busters.

This was the first of three finds for today. I was looking to see which local caches would fill some gaps in my D/T matrix and this one fit the bill. After reading the logs, I knew which TOTT was required. Geodad joined me with the appropriate TOTT and retrieved the log for signing almost immediately after spotting the cache. We were lucky today that no-one was at GZ because they were all out in the middle. Once I signed the log, I decided to see if I could replace the cache, and was successful. SL. TFTC.

OCW marg+1 around Kellyville, Bella Vista, and King's Langley today.
We found trads and multis and had some dnf's but best of all we had a great day out and I would like to thank the various CO's for providing the caches. Send marj after this one. He's younger than me.

After some shenanigans at the relatively nearby Island Adventure, we were looking for just one more before heading home. The T-rating grabbed our attention on this one so we headed over. Spotted the container on approach and with a quick hop, skip and jump, our names are now in the log

As we arrived at GZ, we also noticed the base of this container on the ground, along with the log nearby, but no lid to be seen anywhere near. The log was able to be signed by ilook4geo as well, then we wondered where to put it. So it was put in what we thought would be a fairly secure position and where the weather would not affect the log, with there being no lid to protect it. Thanks go to Blundo Busters for placing this cache.

Found on the ground, in pieces, on arrival with goingplaces2. Log signed and all was sort of hidden as best as it could be. This one needs owner attention please. TFTC.

I noticed that this cache has been temporarily disabled for a period of time well in excess of the period of "a few weeks" as contemplated by the cache guidelines published on Geocaching.com. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other caches from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Please either repair/replace this cache, or archive it (using the *archive listing* link in the upper right) so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location.

If you plan on repairing this cache, **please log a note to the cache** (not email) within the next 28 days so I don't archive the listing for non-communication. For ongoing issues please ensure you visit the listing and post a new note every 28 days to keep everyone up to date, if you do not then you cache may be archived without further note from a reviewer. Caches archived due to lack of maintenance are no longer unarchived and you will need to submit a replacement as a new cache.

Last time I was here I could see the cache, but owing to muggle activity I couldn’t retrieve it. It is no longer there today and needs replacing. Such a pity as I had brought my telescopic ladder.

Located at 4:15pm. Excellent hide and a very worthy D/T grid filler. I arrived to GZ and quickly surveyed where I needed to go. Awaited some school kids to vanish and then up I climbed to get CIH. Excellent little work out and happy to have logged this one. Cheers Blundo Busters. Спасибо! תודה! L’chaim! TFTC!

Just as I was approaching GZ so did about 30 high school muggles. They sat around so I scoped the cache and left. I shall return.

27-Feb-18
Hmm. My work boots are not really suitable to climb with, but neither are my sandals. So with great difficulty i ascended with the tips of my fingers to reach the cache.
Now i was certain that my pen worked just fine, but i was unwilling to release my death grip of the fence long enough to sign the log, so i ensured my feet were on the ground before completing the log duties.
Just to make this more awkward three was a nice ladder sitting in the garden nor far away. But it was secured to the fence and holding up a wind chime so i don't think the locals would like it to be used.

After OUT “Hit Wicket”, I had to return to the nets for continued practice as I’d missed out on the starting eleven, so with a positive mindset, ventured here.
Took a great deal of time to get my eye in and with keeping my head down for the first 10 mins before I skied a ball over my up towards fine leg and over it sailed.
No matter how much yelling and screaming at the lack of co-operation I had to go and retrieve the item myself.
In hand and my pen gave up, so off I walked to the scorers van where she was on the phone and with her eye off the game, I borrowed the pen. Back to the nets and returned hide to find the bowlers had packed up, so with that, returned to the scorers vehicle.
Thanks BB for the hide, feeling kind and offloaded a fav.

Rule #1 in Geocaching. Make sure your pen works before attempting high terrain caches. Rule #2 in Geocaching. Make sure you have backup pen. I remember coming here some time ago to much frustration for a cache and kind of knew where to look here. Plenty of muggles about but what the heck, yes I’m a weird guy doing weird things. Had the CIH quickly and because the pen didn’t work, I took everything back to the car and did the legals there and went back and replaced as found. Thanks BB for making me do these things slightly out of the ordinary. TFTCM
Cheers

I slogged out a very long workday from home, not escaping the clutches of my paid duties until very late in the day. After dinner, I decided to check my email. Notification of a new cache! 15 minutes ago, and less than 2km away.

*There. A chance to resurrect my day.*

I knew the spot without barely a glance at the map. There weren't many other cricket nets around.

On the pushbike, I steamed towards GZ, desperate to make a century at the crease. It'd been a while since I'd looked for a Blundo cache, let alone one in the cricket series. Of course, as I pedalled towards GZ, I thought more about how I knew the area. It wasn't that long ago that things got in the way of me finding BB's old 'Vertigo' cache at this location. It was another 200m or so down the road before I realised that I was humming the tune.

At 8:15pm, there was still some summer light remaining. Locals walked their dogs. Some rode their bikes. Some did laps of the oval. I stood covertly in the nets, ready to face this beast. Time to get to work.

There'd been a few changes here since last time I'd been around. I could spy the container, but how to best retrieve it? I contemplated tools, but the best tools were already on my feet. I'll leave the fun description of retrieval to your imagination, but there are some places a 40-something year-old guy perched would look unusual. I definitely found one of them.

I actually had two major cracks at this. On the first, a few expletives were uttered, as I suspected the cache had been attached using a certain devious method (damn you again, Blundo!!), and I returned to my thinking place to ponder what tools I would need. But after a pep-talk reminiscent of a Rocky flashback, I snatched the cache with a smile on attempt #2.

Booya! FTF at 8:25pm. It's only now that I looked at the terrain rating. 4 stars. Did I have fun? Oh yeah. Fav point, BB! TFTC! Big Grin
