I decided to take a short solo holiday to the beautiful coastal town of Kiama. It was supposed to be a relaxing holiday, but of course, the second I opened the Geocaching app, it became a geocaching holiday. Although, it was exactly what I needed! The walk along here is absolutely stunning. I noticed a lonely cache out this way which I was determined to get and I crossed by this one on the way. Of course I was battling the tide to get the other cache nearby, so I ended up retrieving this one on my way back. I wish I stopped here to enjoy the sunshine and this location, but I was so full of adrenaline I didnt stop to enjoy it. Tftc
Today we walked from Gerringong to Kiama, and a few times along the way we made our way off the Trail and down to the Rocky platform. It was great to visit this location and also see the history here. Plenty of abalone shells inside the cave at the moment. Thanks ironjohn33Domsky
Absolutely fabulous day for the walk from Loves Bay to the cave.
The cache and the contents where in excellent condition but the Log book was a little damp so we put it out on a flat rock to dry it out for a while.
We gave it a little while in the sun and I went to our backpack to grab a drink then turned around and the log book was gone. There was a bit of wind a GZ although it wasn't excessive so it wouldn't have gone far but it took us longer to find it than it did to find the Geocache.
All good, log book found and returned to it's container in a new plastic bag and some more treasure.
Lovely location we've never been to before.
Thank you ironjohn33 for hiding, maintaining the Cache and giving us a reason to visit.

For some reason I've just never made it here and it just scrapes into my 30km radius from home. Today however I got to find the cache. After looking at doing the walk the last couple of months the opportunity came up to walk with the scouts so I tagged along and zipped off to make a quick find. It was made quick by looking at the recent logs so I was down and then back on the track in no time. TFTC!
Rode to Hermits Cave from Easts Beach... such a challenging ride! Found the cave easily and then the cache a few minutes later. Thanks for the challenge and cache.
Took me a very long time to find this cache, despite it being fairly obvious once I was in the right spot! The coordinates seemed slightly out for me, taking me to the Hermits Cave which i proceeded a very thorough search for about 20 minutes. I was ready to give up when I finally read the previous logs one more time and noticed a hint I had missed in "GreenZen's" log!
That hint got me over the line and I soon changed my approach and found the cache hidden nearby. To keep it a D1.5 for others, try searching away from the cave itself!
Thanks ironjohn33

OCW the Bebes. Looked in the obvious spot with no luck and with a slight adjustment we had CIH. Tftc

Doing the Kiama to Gerringong coastal walk.
A fun scramble of the track to an intriguing little cave

A quick find after looking in the wrong cave ... container in good condition! TFTC!
Finished work early today (10am!) so we took the opportunity for a mission.
We walked from Loves Bay to Werri Lagoon, and back again. How peaceful and muggle-free is it on a weekday! Watched a seal playing in the waves and watched my dog have a ball sloshing in the mud. It was still quite muddy from the rain last week and I wish I wore my crap shoes.
Ventured down to the seaside to GZ on our way back, it took us a bit to find, had to think OUTSIDE the square.
Left some treasures.
Our journey was 11.3kms long and took us just under 3.5hours.
Thanks for the cache!

We wasted a few minutes searching in the wrong place. As soon as we moved along a bit, there it was. The rusty container has been replaced by a plastic container. We took the TB. Thanks not only for the cache, but for taking us to an interesting location.
We found the cache as we were walking the coastal track but couldn’t open the container as it’s all rusty. It needs to be replaced. TFTC
Found by Pjayclarke while on our way to Geroa.
I searched the obvious while he went to do the necessary and spotted it on the way back.

Great spot; found just after we'd just glimpsed our first whale. Found with aspitbiker as part of team "Anna's boys!"

TFTC fabulous spot enjoying the challenge sent hubby in for this one while I made it up the hill Cheers
Arrived and struggled initially, before going a little further in our search. Cache intact, pencil sharp! Be careful as may seem like you’re private but muggles on track could spot you from here! Tftc
What a great little spot here, and nice to have a bit of shade for a short rest on a surprisingly warm day. Anyone for abalone?

Found on the 19/11/2017 at 12:14:00 PM.
A planned caching trip out to Yerranderie this weekend was cancelled due to the forecast heavy rain, but Delloro and I were still keen to get out and find some treasure, so a day trip down the coast was planned instead.
After finding the Blessing Tree cache we continued our trip South on the rocks (for the next 3 caches at least). We reached the hermits cave quicker than I was expecting. Glad for the shade we focussed our search in the most obvious (and yet wrong) place mainly for the shade it provided. Eventually we branched out and made the find shortly after, then returned to the shade for a rest and a long drink. It was pretty hot out there.
Thanks for the cache.

Spiderhouse went racing off to get this one before me and he did. I was too busy watching the wales but I followed along eagerly and it was soon in his hand. A great day out and wonderful views. TFTC SL .
Out for the day with WEEO and on our way around the Coastal Walk. One car in Kiama and one in Gerringong. Our expert rock hopper, Mr S, found this one after hopping around a few rocks while the girls carried on walking.
A great walk which we all thoroughly enjoyed even if we were all very very tired and rather muscle weary by the time we finished. But finish we did. Yay.
Thanks ironjohn33 and greetings from New Zealand.

This was a fun cache to find. The Hermit wasn't in house, but the cache was. TFTC
Another day outdoors. This time I ventured down to Kiama Coastal Walk followed by Foxground and Broughton Valley. Found a handful of caches today, which is pretty great all things considered. Thanks to all the Cache Owners for their hides today.
Fourth of the day. Setting off from South Kiama, I walked the Coastal Track. It was a reasonably easy walk along the coastline. After a fun time finding 'The Lost Apostle', this was a nice and easy cache in comparison. Interesting formation here. Thanks for the visit.

Found with nissan 65. Beautiful day for a long walk. Using this track for pack training for a 1000km trek in WA next year. Thankyou for the cache and walk
We were walking the coastal track with friends on our visit from the UK. In an attempt to encourage the kids onwards we described a cave frequented by divers and mermaids. With the previous DNFs we had given up hope of finding the cache. The cave was soon found after a scramble across the rocks and the kids enjoyed the abalone shell collection. Whilst the others climbed the rocks nearby and grown ups had a break I spied a curious collection of rocks in a small "hermit crab" style cave to the left of the divers cave (as you face it). An investigation led to finding the cache and a newbie was introduced to caching in a beautiful spot.
Nice walk along the coast this morning. Found the cave but no luck with the cache. Lots of mess around the place and we weren't keen on just turning random rocks over or destroying the wall. We'll be doing this walk again so will try another time.
Great spot all the same.

Hmmmm certainly found the cave but no luck with the cache. Managed also to find the rockiest and dampest way to get there. Awesome spot though!
Having been here a couple of months ago today i returned with the kids in tow and we enjoyed a nice coastal walk coming from the south. We spotted some whales breaching and a few pleasure crafts battling the sea chop.
Once at GZ I was surprised to see the cave wall alot taller than last time. We quickly spotted the cache and added our names.
Thanks

I think Dad sold us a dummy when he said it was an easy short walk... yeah thanks Dad. That said, we did enjoy ourselves and the scenery was beautiful. The whales and towering cliffs were pretty cool as well as the views north and south.
Once at GZ Dad quickly found the cache while we explored Hermits cave.
Thanks

Woke up this morning with a head cold, figured I needed to sweat it out. So Juno and I headed here to find this cache. GZ certainly is different since our last visit. Struggled to find anything at first, but eventually spread out and found.
Thanks for another excuse to come back along this wonderful walking track.
Cheers

As the owner of the cache I visited the site today and the unusually large storms of recent had impacted significantly on the site including the cave and where the cache was located. After some maintenance on the entrance wall to the hermit's cave and a new cache hidden all is ready to be discovered.
I'm hoping the cache owner can check on this cache since recent storms and high surf may have washed this cache away.
This was a disappointing way to end a nice walk in the morning sun. I've certainly done my share of walks along this trail. After an extensive search, 2 PAF's I left hoping the next finder has better luck.
Maybe the CO could take a look for us.

Every time a cache is placed along this track I make the journey again, it must be ten times now! Today was a perfect day to walk along here, cracking winter weather.
At GZ I hunted and hunted and hunted. Eventually I called a previous finder, but even armed with a clue I was not able to turn anything up. I guess I will just have to come back.

2nd of all 3 today with NJMJ Tribe.
Really cool place, wonder who's been grabbing all the abalone?

Oops. Forgot to log this one last week. A family stroll along the coast walk on ANZAC day. I've been to the cave before, when a previous cache, 'Goat Tracks', was nearby. In those days there was no official coast walk, and at times a route was difficult to negotiate in places. Thanks for bringing me back here ironjohn33.
A hermit eats well!,alot of abolone shells in here.
After the find I walked back to the track to see 2 eagles hunting, floating there in the air,it was quite amazing,I sat here for about 10 minutes watching them until they moved on.

Been down this coastal track many times already and also on the rock platforms, even before the actual track was there. Needed a different challenge today so decided to do a time trial. Parked at Eleonora and run to the cache (no phone, no gps) logged it and run back, all within half an hour!

We headed out this morning to grab a couple of caches and then get back to do what we need to do in preparation for work for Monday, well a few days straight caches go in the way and it's nearly 3pm. Been a good day just the same. The work mojo has gone now. At least we collected a couple of smileys. TFTC
Saw this one as it popped up for publication but was confused when it had already been found. Walked from Gerringong & upon arrival all was revealed - found 3 days ago. Logged I was the FTF after publication, left a pathtag & 2 polished stones. I've been here before on my way to another cache but can't recall the name. Thanks for the walk & the cache.
Our first first to find! Fantastic cache, beautiful location. Geokiddies and geodog loved it!
