Had an idea of what we were looking for but took a while & then buzzybb spotted it. It was a great day to do the walk. Tftc
Took us a while of walking up and down, until cache was in hand. A great walk. Thanks for the series.
A nice quick find thanks.
Time for another trip to the North Island for Ms_KR and me. Wellington and beyond here we come. Today we toured around north of Waiuku up to the southern heads of the Manukau harbour. It is a hot summer so far!
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

B4Dawn and I had made plans to adventure in the general Awhitu area to walk and clear out some caches but then the rain set in....ah we don't mind that lets go anyway...just pack the waterproof clothes and jackets!! There were periods it was quite clear and others with really bad wind and rain that made us question what the hell we were doing out but as always it was an adventure and of course some smiley faces to be had.
As we approached we read the D/T and decided as the T was high we would have to be over the side. B4Dawn hopped on over at the earliest opportunity whilst I continued on the bridge. Have always enjoyed fishing and today was no exception with the cache soon in my hand!! Needn't have hopped over after all...oops.
Thanks for the cache.

Spent an excellent day with Keylev. Super wet day, soggy hiking boots but a boat load of caches to show for it!
Found this one fairly quickly. Nabbed it and moved onto the next. TFTC

Out on a geocaching trip. Staying at Awhitu Regional Park. Thanks for hiding Stik-a-crane
Today was the day Team G0LD (Geocachers 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ) finally got to collect the crayola puzzles. As Pete said we'd planned this trip ages ago but covid-19 got in the way.
I left my sons in Whangarei at 5am and got back home to Paihia at 11pm. It was a long day but I really enjoyed it. We found all the crayola series, a few trads near them, a few other solved puzzles. In the middle of the series we headed up to Awhitu Regional park to get a cache that required low tide. Along the way we even managed two FTF's giving us a total of just over 100 for the day.
The view from the top renewed our excitement for the island adventure. A neat hide here.
Sorry about the cut and paste logs and thanks for the caches around this reserve

Off on a mission today with Team G0LD ( Geocachers 0B8, Lis & Daffy ) to finally do the Crayola 64 series. The puzzles had been solved ages ago, but due to two Covid forced delays, it was only now we could coordinate schedules and head south from Whangarei to make the finds.
Part way through the 64 series, we decided to make a dash for Awhitu, to collect as many of the trads and bonus puzzles up here as possible. The tide was also supposed to be low around 2:30 and we should also be able to walk out to the island too. However, when we arrived there was still 100 metres of water surrounding the island, so we decided on doing the park walk first.
A nice quick find here of an appropriate cache for a fisherman on our walk. TFTC

Out with Team Gold (Liz Crew and 0B80B8) picking up as many caches as possible in the South Auckland area. After picking up a bunch of Crayola puzzle caches we decided to head up South Head and collect the series at Awhiti. Nice quick find by the team. We found what we thought it might be. TFTC
Doing my bit to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

The two youngest davidsonclan children and dad have come camping for the night at Awhitu what a lovely spot quiet exploring the tracks now.Tftc this took us a while to find we were climbing trees etc as it was a T3 lol.
After crashing the night in my car at the camp site, I was awake early and up and at it at 7am, we have a group organised at 9am sharp to get the 2 phone caches further up the coast so I'm off on my own this morning to get 3 caches before breakfast with the others.
Sad to say, my last cache in the reserve today. For various reason I never completed the series, it was either too hot, I was too busy eating and socialising or just too busy! But that's all good, I love this camp ground and want to bring my parents here for a visit, so will return soon.
This cache took me awhile to find, I was expecting one way to hide this and when that technique failed I tried the more reliable one foot at a time mode and then I got it!! Now it's nearly 8am, so back to the camp site for me, have brekky then meet up with others at 9am for the 2 phone caches. Whoo hoo! A good day already. Cheers Aaron. A FP so far for the fun.

We used to do all these trails every other week with our daughters when we lived in Waiuku. Nice to revisit. TFTC.
Located this one on the walks around the Leap Year Campout Event. Enjoyable walk with a group of attendees, no problem with the so many pairs of eyes looking TFTC.
A very large group of cachers hiked over to GZ. With so many eyes looking, it didn't take long to spot the cache. TFTC.
Out picking up caches after the Leap Year Campout 2020 event. Thanks Stik-a-crane.
Had a fun weekend camping out down here at Awhitu and took the opportunity to rack up some Feb 29 finds with a bunch of nice cache hides around the regional park, some with small groups from the campout and others by myself while riding around the park on my eBike. Great weather and great company, including the CO for a short while also. TFTC!!!

* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

Not sure what you would be catching up her, except maybe your breath as this was the start of the incline.
We are staying at the Leap Year Campout Event
Well the path split, and we went left, maybe it would have helped avoid a series of steps if you go right? suggestion: walk to "Kauri boardwalk" first, then back track to the "Path Splits" cache and then come and find this one, you miss out on a series of steps, but if you like/dislike steps, they are difficult to avoid
So here I am with gely57, rosmar, alunb, helefant, looking for a couple of caches.
It is a quick find at GZ, and any codes for the bonus hide are collected.
Thanks for the hide Stik-a-crane

Found this one during the event Leap Year Campout 2020 Auckland - GC8HQ7K, Line_Moh spotted this one and VibhaHB helped her to retrieve it due to her condition. At this stage I started to get some notification about new caches few kilometres from the park that were hidden for the event, but how to come back to the car and get there before the veterans? Just finished the loop track with peace of mind. Signed as V.I.M.A️

Line_Moh found this one during the Leap Year 2020 camp event in Auckland. IuryBR and I were looking in the wrong areas, definitely need to bring your gaze as if you were looking at some fishes below.
Out enjoying the regional park on a lovely summers day. Very few campers were awake which meant nobody was around. Nice quick find here. TFTC
Terrain rating is not reflective I think. It was pretty easy walk. Easily found by Vanjeans and with the help of a good hint. TFTC
Day one of a weekend in Auckland with my wife. She loves to geocache, I keep her company.
I am not sure how you could injure yourself finding this. It's a nice hide.
JDScout had a conference in Auckland for part of the week so I met up with hem on Friday night. Hopefully we will find a few geocaches on this trip as I haven't got many left to find in Christchurch.
Thanks Stik-a-crane for placing this geocache 7649 find for me.
Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.

Up the hill we went and we had a good idea what we were looking for when we arrived.Found this one quickly and as expected.Still like these type of hides.
Find number 4695. What a great day to be walking around the park. As I neared the end of the beach I heard voices coming from the sand. Looked over and saw a couple of nudist walking around. Left them to it and headed to the cache. Thank you for the placement.
A clever little cache, amazing that no muggles can find it, surely they can sense something fishy about the bridge.... TFTC!
A day of caching on the Awhitu Peninsula with KirsTim, vistra and yorkshirekiwi83, knew what to expect here, so a quick and straightforward find. Thanks for the hide.
Spent today exploring and caching around the Awhitu Peninsula, together with Vamber, KirsTim and Yorkshirekiwi83, signing the logs as KKKTTS.) Parked up then went for a good wander around the Regional Park. Kept our eye open along the boardwalk and soon spotted the cache attachment. TFTC!
Out caching with KrisTim, Vamber and vistra (signed logs as KKKTTS or a variety thereof) around the Awhitu Regional Park exactly what I expected to find. TFTC
Out exploring a new area as the Waitakeres is closed. Found this one on the way up the hill to the lookout. TFTC
Ha ha ....
Always enjoy a spot of bridge fishing!
Three of us were looking for quite a while....then I looked from a different angle and "voila"
Bigger than I expected !
Glad it is keeping safe from muggles !

I knew what to look for, but still took a few passes to spot the cache. Nice placement. A few too many wasps and mozzies so I didn't stay long. I can't remember seeing the code for mystery cache. Maybe I was in too much of a hurry.
Mr and Mrs KC were my geo guides around the park which made for a lovely wander and a chat as they had found most of them before which was hugely appreciated. Nicely attached so easy to retrieve. TFTC
We took a break from our walk to enjoy a bit of bridge fishing and made a successful catch. After signing the log we threw it back for the next passing fishercachers to enjoy.
Another great hide, TFTC.

Dear Cache Owners,
I am a German guy who stays in New Zealand for eight months.
My English is not perfect, so please don't wonder if my log entries sound a bit strange. Thanks!
----------
After a good breakfast I decided to drive to Awhitu park to make a nice hiking tour. The weather was nice and I could find a lot of Caches - and no DNF's [^] , so I enjoyed the beautiful landscapes and the view at the sea.
Easy! Fished it

This was another early start for HKCB and myself as we needed to make the most of the tides later in the morning and get sufficient caches to enable HKCB to claim his 9000th by walking out to an Island. Also we had a time constraint that we pushed to the max in as far as getting back home.
This trip was very much about clearing out the remainder for me (as it didn't seem that long ago that I had this area pretty much all clear) and HKCB could do it as a day trip with the family
Left the car at the top carpark and started our wander through the park. Heading back inland and the line was sooon in hand, NIce catch HKCB, Nice quick find at this location
Thanks for the cache, Thanks for the placement

On a bit of a morning mission with C&D to the South Head of the Manukau Harbour. This is a trip I have been wanting to do for a while so glad to finally visit. This trip also ticked off my 9000th cache find milestone. It was a great trip with the usual laughs, though a slight tide issue made it truly memorable. Thanks to the CO's for all the hides.
A very enjoyable walk around the park, gathering this series. A couple of interesting finds which I'll outline on those logs. Thanks for setting up this series.

Plan for this weekend to visit Awhitu Peninsula Never been in this area before except Waiuku.
Met up with fellow cachers from Huntly on Friday night and travelled up on Saturday morning. Plan to start at bottom and work up.+ Cachers were signed with the team name HRT being first letter of our home towns (Huntly, Rotorua, Tauranga)
Generally caches were good but some a little damp, others requiring reading descriptions, hints and other cachers comments to make finds.
As the day went on we realised we would have to return the next day to complete, so this made it a Saturday & Sunday mission.
Weather was great and some amazing sites visited.
Wish to thank all CO's for caches placed. Great trip. SLTFTC

At day out agina on a nice sunny day With Gap (of Fap and Gap), ABCDF4, and eyespyben... For convenience, we group signed the logs H(untly) R(otorua) T(auranga) (or P(apamoa), depending on who signed and had a good time foind the caches to clean out this area tftc.

Awhitu Regional Park: The Kauri Walk has been blocked off by a big slip, so moving onto this hide seemed the logical thing to do. It took a few sweeps and scans to pick this one up... TFTC.

Was out and about caching today and came across this cache . There weren't any muggles about today so starting the search was easy. After 10 minutes of searching the cache was soon located . Thanks for the cache Stik-a-crane . TFTC!!!!
With the kauri boardwalk being blocked by the landslide, we moved onto this cache. Each of us took a different part of the structure to seach, and Mrs Beconaze made the find. Yay, time to head to the beach
With three sets of eyes we sectioned up the bridge and we located the goods in no time. Quickly signed and on our way again
Out for the day with the kids and we decided to visit Awhitu Reserve for some beach time and caching This was a nice bit of fishing TFTC!
We've visited Awhitu Regional Park a few times now and thought we'd seen all of the park. Obviously not as we have never ventured over this bridge before now. Once at GZ the tether and cache was quickly located. Enjoying the variation of caches as we make our way around - TFTC!
Back on the trail with alpenmilch80 and themexikiwi after our wee diversion and time for a spot of fishing.
Didn't take too long to find the line and the cache was soon in hand. Another nice little variation on the trail today before carrying on. TFTC

With the recent high temperatures, a decision was made to enjoy a lovely sunny day out and about in Awhitu Park. Themexikiwi, evilno9 and I left Auckland quite early to get the low tides precise to collect the tidal geocaches. After this was done we enjoyed the walk around the park. Easily fished this one. TFTC
