As the CO has not been out doing any maintenance on this cache and he seems to be inactive, it is time this one is archived.
The tide was low and the cache was found easily. There was no logbook in the coke bottle only seawater.

Found the very dis-used coke bottle, complete with just sea water, no log though! It was still tied to the post so I took a foto anyway just to say I was here. But looking at the C.O's profile I see they haven't cached since 7-2016 so I guess they are now inactive as will be this cache soon. I'm doing the 36°challenge (GC54X4E) and I needed this cache for it's minutes. Lovely place to visit though, low tide today as it happened and it was just gorgeous the beach!!
Luck was upon us that the tide was low and the cache was found easily. Log was soaked and needs replacing with waterproof paper or even a plastic bag, thanks
Easy enough to find...log soaked could not write on it.....no clue that i could see. Nice reserve thou
Found laying out in the open. No information on code for final cache. Cache is no longer waterproof. Log (already replaced by another cacher) is drenched.

We got to this one on a second attempt. First was yesterday coming from the wrong direction. It involved sticky sand and almost loosing flip flops in the mud. Coming the correct way was much easier. Cache container was a quick find, but unfortunately no lid and no paper. We are staying nearby so we will come back to fix that. My partners in adventures were geokitten007 and adventurebear007. Thanks for bringing us here.
Made the trip up to the Heads this Christmas morning to spend time with family. With the kids settled down and watching a movie I took the opportunity to pop out for a cache or two. This was my second stop. Drove into the reserve and parked near GZ. Didn't take long before I spotted the attachment and then the hide. Cache was full of water. Signed the waterproof log, though it looks like the tides wash it clean. Needs some CO attention. Cheers for the cache placement!
(2294) In the area today , so couldn't resist stopping by and collecting this cache. The lid was missing from the cache leaving it full of water. Prop the cache up a little higher above the water level, but will require a lid. TFTC
Found no problem but had no top and was full of water and paper still inside but washed clean
Today we are heading for Mangawhai to spend some time with the family. Always to find a few cache sin the area.
Found the cache as the previous finder mentioned. We took the time to replace the lid & have added some water proof paper for the new log.
Thanks for placing this cache nickthegeoninja
4.10pm. Tide was high but we retrieved it from above. favourite point for an unusual hide.
Thank You. David.
Thank You. David.
Thought that I'd be able to solve this series with only two of the numbers (coming back for the third on a less busy day at the playground). Headed here and only once I parked did I read that it was tide dependent. Luckily, as per the photo, I'd struck it lucky! An instant find at GZ after spotting the telltale attachment device. A quick sign and replace, but then realised halfway back to the car that I didn't have the clue! Argh, back again! Found it even quicker this time! Nice placement, thanks! Right then, time to chance my arm at the final...
Pretty place to visit this morning while the tide was out . Very quick find with Hokiangler while staying close by with Bubbles . Like the message in a bottle a lot thx
Out with Hobbit.snuggle and Elle picking up a few caches. Great idea, loved the message in a bottle concept.
With hobbitsnuggle and merlot. Fun and a great way to show our visitors a bit of Mangawhai.
Wow that was an early start, 2am left home, first cache at 4.50am.
Little did we know it but we could have had a sleep in as in the company of HKCB we were meant to be going Kite surfing today, but the place at Omaha double booked us then we had other plans for the rest of the weekend which meant a refund, a bugger but never mnd we did manage some great caches as I work my way torads my goal of collecting caches for the Challenge elective of the DGSc Challenge (stupid evil challenge, I now understand why no-one has ever done this elective previously).
But anyhow, after a long drive and not enough caffine we were ready for a couple of caches.
This was a quick stop on the way to our first objective of the weekend. Great travelling these back roads when they are clear of traffic and any traffic you do see from a long way off.
Our collective thanks must go out to all the cache owners who made this trip possible as we also managed to get quite a number of water based kayak caches along the way, but left enough for next time. We covered from the Managwai Heads to Mahurangi/Waiwera area in the south on the saturday, followed by a trip across Auckland on the sunday
thanks for the placement

Up this way with Cats&Dragons for the weekend with the main goal of tackling some of the T5 Kayak caches around the Auckland area and a little further North. We also had the side mission to give kiteboarding a go, but unfortunately that fell through last minute, but that only meant we got more caching in. The general plan was to cache around along the East coast from Mangawhai to Mahurangi on Saturday, and a big focus on the Auckland Kayak caches in the Auckland area.
A very early morning start, even by our normal standards (2am), meant we were had a bit of time to grab a few caches before we were meant to meet up for the boarding. But even with a few set backs including a few DNF's we still had a very enjoyable day. Thanks to all the CO's for the placements.
Short walk from where we parked in the to GZ, it wasn't until we were there that we realised we didn't need to follow the shore line and we could of walked on the grass there, but as it's still 5am and pitch black still I think we have an excuse. A quick poke around at GZ and C&D soon came up with the cache. Thanks for the hide.

Very clever spot! tide was way out so was easy find. Contents was a bit damp but still able to write our names. Thanks!
Having found a super motel for the next couple of nights, went out to explore the area and find the nearest caches. The tide was well and truly out so we were able to retrieve this easily. Signed and returned, making sure it was well secured. Noted number so that hopefully we can find the others in the series while we are here. TFTC and a favourite point for a fascinating idea.
If this cache was in Auckland it would have been found within 1 hour. Luckily for Team Davieland it isn't. It was low tide so the cache was quickly found. Blank log duly signed and returned to its hiding spot. FTF#4. TFTC.
Was high tide and raining at the time but the kids were keen to find. Got into my wetsuit and put on my goggles to go for a swim. Swam along the waterfront and found it under rocks. Fishing line was long enough for the contents to be grabbed. Ran up to my daughter who wrote down the next clue packed it back up and went back into water. Off to the next cache! The things we do to have fun with daughter. TFTC
