I done as the description said, go to top of stairs, under veranda, as per the description.
I WAS STOPPED, ASKED WHAT I WAS DOING ON SCHOOL GROUNDS AND DENIED ENTRY.
THIS IS A SCHOOL.
ENTRY TO TRACK IS THROUGH THE SCHOOL.

No sign of a cache today. I note it hasn't been found for some time. This is a high Muggle area with lots of kids playing in the bush. It might need the CO to check it or archive it.
No luck today.
I think we found where the cache should be, in the cave in the bank.

One week of the school holidays are already gone and we have a few days off looking after grandson. He's not adverse to caching but the weather wasn't that great and a new game for the Xbox had priority. After the nice 2 minute stroll a number of obvious hiding places presented themselves but one stood out. Careful inspection revealed the cache. We signed the log and hid it again as found. Thank you Jack12345666
This was a DNF for us previously due to it being missing but thanks to the efforts of cachers from the 'top of the south' (GH6710, capperz, paddle chick) we were able to find it today. Added another small piece of paper to the cache.
TFTC.

Found the lid but no sign of the log that capperz had found and as I was leaving I found the container down the hill. I only had a small scrap of paper in my pocket so signed that and replaced where i think it was. CO needs to check it out. Thanks for the cache Jack12345666

After a few big walks there was time for another quick one and with no school today seemed like a good day for it. Headed up the track as suggested, and soon on the trail. At G Z I spotted the hidey hole but also a Weta warren/box rammed into the gap. Ccahe lid was on the floor and the log-book so signed in and added to the hole. There's a bit of mindless vandalism through here and there, someone with too much time on their hands - shame. Needs a CO check please.
another nice walk as the day and Greymouth slowly came to life. After trying for the cache at the bottom of the hill I promised myself just this one, then back to the car. As it was I went all the way to the top cache as well, would seem a shame to grunt uphill taht far and not find it! Great views all around and a nice walkway for anyone to take.

First up I was awake on pre daylight saving hours and awake at 5.15 and ready to go. Way too early for that sort of stuff so after a pre-pack of my gear, and another Maccas breakfast I grabbed a few in the early morning haze.
Day 3 of the West Coast trip and the day to head back to sunny Marlborough. I'd been tracking the weather forecast all week and today was supposed to be showers for most of the day so the plan was to find as many caches before the weather set in for a spell so I decided that a concerted effort on a few more Greymouth caches was required before heading back home via Pancake Rocks and Westport. I'd travelled that road a few times before, but still had some patches of unfinished business here and there. As it was I got home just about oj dark but with a pleasing haul of another 30-plus caches which made my first 3 days of April as prolific as my first 3 months of 2018!
Will try and log specific experiences where I recall them, otherwise it's thanks to the efforts of all COs for their placements.
Easter weekend 2018 is here and I have a cunning plan. Well, a caching plan, but what's the difference? With mrs and daughter working over the weekend and me with a few days off work there was a chance to convert some of my solved puzzles over on the West Coast into smiley faces. And add to my West Coast caching total. And do the Point Elizabeth walk, and several other appealing strolls. And some other stuff and all the way along gaining extra points for the planetary Challenge thingy to gain some electronic 2D Geo-souvenirs. And so, setting off around 0730 on Easter Sunday with the trusty mountain bike aboard (for the Greymouth beach-side track) I clocked up just under 1000 kms by road, a few extra on 2 wheels and several more on 2 feet, quite the trip. The threatened rain only arrived on the second afternoon in Hokitika (by which time I'd done my walks for the day) and the drive back from Greymouth via Westport was in blazing Autumn sunshine - Beautiful. Fantastic scenery all around and a large number of caches from b&w and gracie7&mum helped the total to just over 180 finds.
An awesome few days which my family wouldn't have enjoyed, but conversely actually would have, for the most part. An FTF in Reefton on the way through on Day 1 was another bonus, and monkey off the back for the monthly streak. A few DNFs which is to be expected with that many looked for, but a lot of good sights and experiences too. Thanks to all the COs for their placements.

This was a pretty easy find and geocache is back in the same place. Tie by Alex and Caitlyn.
Looks like some kids have been digging up the bank at GZ. I have tucked a replacement in behind the little punga which will hopefully last for a while. Great spot and walkway. TFTC
Found this old girl very easily - it's obviously been dragged somehow (muggles?) and lay apart outside where it's originally been hidden. We filled out the log and carefully placed it back, but I'd say this ol' girl is well in need of some owner TLC. Log book is damp, other container is a mess etc etc I recommend when you come up, changing the location slightly to the clearing at the end of the path (25m further up the track). Thanks for the cache tho - good times
An interesting walk on a Sunday afternoon. Not sure we would have found it if we hadn't been told about the unusual container. TFTC
We hadn't read the description properly so it took us longer than it should have. TFTC.
Must remember to read the Description before venturing out Caching,as we started off in a completly different place. A very unusual container.TFTH
One of 13 caches found last Saturday. when we found it the bag had been ripped open and one of the containers was found a couple of meters away.
We were passing and there was a break in the traffic so off we go. Parked right outside the school office since it was a Saturday but then decided perhaps we shouldn't be there so backtracked back down to the shop only to walk up the steps to exactly the same spot. Followed your good instructions through the school and up the track. I was surprised at how long it has actually been here when I read the plaque. I really enjoyed the walk through this lovely piece of bush. Lots of water in the outer bag but everything was fine in the other containers. Thanks for sharing this lovely track Jack12345666 TFTC #8678
Sometimes you really end up in a place you cannot imagine, and this was one of those. Enjoyed the stroll. Glad it was a Sunday though. The cache could do with a little birthday present of a click clack box. Thanks.
enjoyed the 2 minute walk
wasn't long before we were signing the log book
thank you for the cache and bringing us here

It was a quick 2 minute stroll - thanks to the good description we managed to find the entry as well. TFTC
In Greymouth for a wee easter family holiday. Mrs TG headed out for a wee morning run whilst I packed up the cabin - heading back home to CHCH today with a wee detour to Hokitika & the gorge .
Quickly cornered this one before heading off. Still early enough that there was no one around. Cheers.

Found with Zara and TaybeeDragon. I missed logging this cache, thanks to TaybeeD for Reminding me. Alas Zara cannot make it up the steps, so we left her guarding the car park and TaybeeD and I went for the short walk.Nice little place. Love the little bit of bush so close to school! Reminds me of my childhood when I used to have fantails following me to and from home. Gets a favourite for the memories.
Part of an awesome Easter trip exploring the West Coast. Definately coming back - there is so much here to see!

This is a fun place to visit. Love the swing. Great little forest and hideaway for the kids. The Seagnoids find. Cheers

FTF. It was a little confusing getting to the start of the track and it was hidden very well but did end up finding it in the end.
