Today we had our second day in Karamea and again made a trip in and around the city, with special emphasis on the Oparara basin. On this trip we searched, found and logged many caches, too. The weather was good, sunny, very warm, only a bit cloudy, and only sometimes there was some wind.
Almost no muggels observed us as they had better things to do than observing two geocachers.
Thanks to weenz for showing us this location and for the fun we had at Karamea Village (West Coast). The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are on another 4 day exploration of the Upper West Coast.
Saturday is Westport to Karamea and the Oparara Valley. With the Oparara Valley walkway bagged its time to return to Zara for some well earned ZZZs but still some daylight left on our return journey.
Snagged and tagged this one that was out in plain sight. Cheers

Having walked the Charming Creek railway yesterday, Taybeedragon and I are on day two of our four-day trip to the northern West Coast. Today, the Oparara Valley to Adams' Flat.
After walking to Adams' Flat and back, its time to head back to Zara. Stopped off here along the way. It's amazing how unhidden a cache can sometimes be and still be safe from muggles!

A nice and quick find. pretty easy to spot! Cheers.
A really awesome day in and around Karamea today. Perfect weather for walking and caching.
Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches. Cheers.

Easy find. Cache can be seen by muggles. But as karamea is such a lovely town and locals friendly I am guessing cache is safe.
Found this one after a long day in the car. No cover found a rock and hide away from view.
A quick cache and dash whilst passing. Signing logs with our names or initials depending on space. Out caching with Will of the Wisp on our “round the world in 80 days” trip to celebrate retirement. Greetings from England, TFTC.
A quick easy find, although we were amazed the cache was still there, as the area around it had been completely cleared, possibly for painting the pole, and only a very thin layer of grass covered the cache. We recovered it a bit better, and placed a rock on top. TFTC
After walking the Fenian Track to the Postal River I decided that another one or two caches needed to be in my bag.
Oh, lookee there, the Police Station.
Cheers for the cache.

Finally it's time for a Christmas break and some time away from work. Time for Mrs KE and I to pack up our newly converted camping car and head out into the wilderness for a few nights. The West Coast looked inviting and there might even be time for some geocaching. If we can remember how to do that.
A quick find here after enjoying a bit of a sleepless night at the Domain. Hopefully the temperatures won't be quite so high tonight. Yawn.
Thanks weenz for the cache.

Relatively quick find at the obvious place, though I did make it longer than necessary by circling around. It was the evening and only a couple of cars went by. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. BJ25. Find # 1533
Stopped for a drink and tea at the pub then crossed the road and while I took a photo of the pub, Andy snagged the cache. tftc
#15062. Another one where we thought we'd be better off looking for it in the morning on our way north. All was quiet, and we made a quick find. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalker on our week long post Christmas trip to Reefton and the West Coast. Day 5: Karamea and Oparara area.
9am on a Saturday morning is a good time to look for this as it was all quiet at GZ. I approached from one side and SW another and he found the cache. Very colourful near GZ with the hydrangeas and crocosmia flowering nearby. TFTC.

We are on a holiday to Karamea. We are heading there via Arthur's Pass. We decided to take the camper van to go to the start of the estuary walk. I liked the irises near gz.

Found whilst on a wonderful 3 week tour of this beautiful country. Many thanks to the COs for placing caches in great spots to visit and make our holiday even more special.
We stopped for the cache on our way back to our cottage after hiking around Oparara. We found the cache while muggles enjoyed the warm, dry weather out in the courtyard area of the pub. We found the cache and headed "home." What we should have done was join the muggles because the weather was fantastic. TFTC.
In Karamea for a couple of days caching.
Done Oparara this morning. Now time to do some of the "local" hides.
A quick find and sign here.

This was a nice and easy one just before the rain is coming. The cache is in good condition even after the heavy rainfalls two days ago.

Tftc. Very easy track and grab making up for not finding another we looked for earlier. Written up as Relief not Relief 1@ but same person . Cheers
Nice easy find after scrambling around in the bushes drawing the attention of the local policeman who wanted to know what we were up to lol.
Quick explanation and we were on our way.

We were hoping for a yummy feed of whitebait at the pub for lunch but it doesn't open till 3.00pm so had to back track down the road for something to eat. Nice quick find here to whet the other appetite. TFTC #9659
We had dinner at the hotel last night and saw there was a cache nearby. Found it today in a caching trip around the town late in the afternoon, after doing a few moring walks. Left a trackable that we brought over from Nelson.
Thanks.
Thanks.
With yellow dotted lines along the road and another shower beginning I jumped out of the car on the corner to look for the cache while Hazedarus found a safe park. A quick find as there was really only one place it could be then I took it back to the car for signing out of the rain.
Thank you weenz.
Thank you weenz.
It's not my favourite but I have it from the highest authority (Holymu) that the pub serves the absolute best bangers and mash. The local cop must have been on duty somewhere or on his life style block because there was no sign of life from the station while it was still to early for signs of life from the pub. Thank you weenz
Over in Karamea for the weekend and grab a couple of caches while I was here thanks weenz for the cache
On tour in NZ! To safe space and time we logged as cg3 (caching girls 3)!

Last one for Karamea. Having driven past three time in the last couple of days there was only one place this could be. TFTC!!!
Cache may not be opposite the police station for much longer if the signs in town are anything to go by. Lots of signage saying Save Our Police Station. No sign of any while I was getting the cache. TFTC
