I spent some time trying to follow the instructions but the grass was very long and I made no progress. The geotrail, not the hint, eventually led me to this one! Travelling back to Wellington after a weekend visiting family and what better way to choose a place for a stretch than a cache on the side of the road you're travelling. Cache in good order. plenty of goodies to have a look at but didn't take anything. Dropped off two TB's, hopefully someone will take them on the next step of their journey. Thank you.
Out with Kiwi Does Stuff heading to the desert road for some last minute bucket list Aurora Australis photography. By this point the grass was crunching under foot and fingers werent really working but we will carry on! Finally making our way through retrieving the logbook, signed and all is well. TFTC!
out with Reschedule on a random night mission to the desert road.Swung by to grab a few caches while in the area. Even in the sub zero temperatures! TFTC
With this one so close to SH2, which had near constant traffic on it, I arrived and made an assumption of where the cache may be. I then jumped out and made a very quick search between vehicles but found nothing. After searching several other spots unsuccessfully, I started the engine to drive away. Something made me change my mind, so I returned to the first place I had looked and there it was, about one hands length from where I had started. Phew! TFTC
Driving home from Auckland, grandies wanted to find a trackable. They followed the clues and voila
Nice quick cache while walking in the area.Always good to be in the area. Will take a teachable for a trip too.TFTC

Cute notebook! Container was slightly condensated but all good. We went for a walk earlier nearby and saw a cop parked near GZ so glad he was gone by the time we arrived. Picked up the creepy TB to move along, hoping it doesn’t appear in the tent without us moving it like in the horror movies
It’s my birthday soon so instead of having a fancy dinner we decided to do a weekend away camping. I said I was happy with the cold just no rain so up north from Palmy we went chasing better weather. Geewiz is it cold!

Obscure place but easy parking and find.
Plus a decent size to drop a larger trackable I took pity on elsewhere !

Had to read the hint several times before finally finding the cache. Thanks for placing it
This made the list for a large cache today. Quick find and nicely hidden from traffic. Thanks qmunz!
A good sized container here, nice quick find while heading through to Waiouru today, TFTC
Rain has cleared on this wet summers day allowing us to collect a few caches as we head from Taupo to Feilding. TFTC
I'm on a road trip to the far north, attempting to complete the PWGT Tahi Geotour.
This is day one, heading from home to the bustling metropolis of Huntly.
Will expand on my logs, post photos, qualifying caches for challenges, etc. When I get home. TFTC
Always good to get a large one.

Heading south today. A quick park and grab. Always like finding a good sized container. TFTC
Day 11 of my Spring Holiday and after spending a couple of days in Cambridge it was time to make our way home. First leg of the journey is to Wellington to catch the Ferry.
Early start and left at 5.15am in the rain. A couple of planned stops once it was light enough and keeping a close eye on Google to make sure we still had a good half hour up our sleeve on our arrival time. Very critical and quite handy really so will be using it again for sure...on mute of course haha. Took a couple of minutes to locate but all good TFTC

All four of us were down in the trench hunting around.
A quick and easy once I re-read the hint.
Replaced as found.

Always good to get a Large cache and this was a nice find. Frost on the outer but in and out and off I went across the desert road.
Left Taihape later than I'd hoped thanks to a certain thing taking Extra time and I paid the penalty with a reduced itinerary. Caching still happened though.
The weekend is here and for a change I've got a four-dayer planned with a trip across from Taupo to Napier to have a couple of nights in Havelock North and local area, followed by a trip back across the Napier-Taihape Road to stay at our daughters for a day before watching the football on Monday and then Coming Home, he's coming home, capperz is coming home (football didn't as it turned out! Well done to Italy.
A few nice caches found, not huge numbers so quality rather than quantity. A few more of the PWGT caches as well as some others here and there, thanks to all COs.

Nice big container. The sort that always gets the kids excited in the hopes of good trades. But alas no deals done today. TFTC
Last day of our SI roadtrip of about 4000km, on way home we stopped to grab a few in Waiouru. This one confused us for a while but finally got it. TFTC.
#12,211. Park, short walk and grab on State Highway 1 in the Waiouru Military Area. Fortunately, apart from the passing traffic, GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Found after a little search, with the help of the additional hints. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing signed log.

Heading away on a wee North Island road trip and gathering up a few caches along the way. This was one of them. Not what I was expecting, but had no trouble spotting this nice cache. TFTC
Found it eventually! The clue was no help at all! Anyways thanks for going to the trouble of placing the cache. Found with Piwaka54.
Found with Nutty Nora. Hint is misleading, but works if you start from the gate. Nice sized cache
Stopped here, after caching out the Desert Road.
Going back to the Mainland, caching south with the wagging tails, in Van. Happy New Year, and happy caching TFTC

Miserable day for traveling but this has given me something to break up the trip
Have been checking finds on my aging Montana 650 and have discovered finds from 18 months ago that I hadnt logged before. Found with Tramper Ted. Had us a bit confused for a while. Thanks for the detailed information aabout Waiouru.
This one was a bit of a surprise and confused about the location at first. Then we stumbled over it! Had a good laugh. TFTC
Ohakune to Fielding today. Planning to attend the event there this evening. Collecting as many caches along the way as we can. Stopped here for Mrs Rubbishparty to do some online work so got the bike out for 4 close by hides. Nice sized cache so got there in the end. Thanks
Thanks qmunz for the cache. It’s #1315 for us. We found your cache on 3 September 2020. Hint not that helpful but we found it in the end!! Dropped off two trackable today.
Today is the day to locate and sign off caches along the Desert Road north of Waiouru.
Now, that is a nice big cache.
Cheers for the cache.

After a visit to the army museum I thought i would grab a few local caches, had to read the hit a couple of times as I headed straight for the wrong spot and could see from looking around on the ground I lot of other cache’s have done the same

Given the snow, I resorted to a foot shuffle rather than a feel, which worked well. Nice to see a good sized cache. TFTC.
Took me a little while but got there after doing a more careful search in the obvious first place I tried TFTC
Traveling from Rotorua to Upper Hutt and this was the second cache on my list. I made this one slightly difficult for myself but once I re-read the hint properly I made the discovery. Very clever hide. TFTC
Passing through and thought why not stop and grab a cache.
Great hint got me on to it immediately.
Cache in good order.

Found with a sister during our expedition to NZ (from CZ), where we explored part of the North Island and could visit our classmates and friends that we have not seen for several years, as it is here, in Auckland and Napier live ... Thank you for cache ...
Well it wasn’t so “tuff” after all. Given the location I’m sure we aroused some interest as we negotiated the trenches! TFTC
Great spot!! Easy find once we realised we weren't looking in the right spot. tftc!!
I was driving up to Auckland today. Madness I know, in Easter traffic, but needs must...
In order to break my journey up a little bit I thought I might stop to grab an occasional cache not too far off the beaten track. I had attempted to find this some a couple of months ago, and I hadn't realised that I had neglected to post a DNF at that time like I normally do. Back then I had spent about half an hour searching all over the place for this one. I remember it being very frustrating at the time.
However, thanks to a few recent logs, my search today was much shorter. I know we are not supposed to post spoilers, but the Hint is very misleading as the cache isn't actually at either of the 2 possible interpretations. Rather, it can be found between them, and bear in mind the container size when searching as it will hopefully speed up your search.
Glad to get this one knocked off, and thanks for the cache

Used hint from yesterday's finder. Very quick find

Several months ago when travelling down the Desert Road I attempted to find this cache. When I started it had stopped raining, but the long grass was full of water, then it started to rain, and before you could say "I found it" I was soaked, and none to happy.
This time, the sun is out, not a rain cloud in sight. So here we are, having an idea of what we need to do, but the co-ords seemed to be so far out. Eventually got another set of eyes and hands to help with the search, and the cache was found.
With rebel98 and gorby on a mini caching adventure. Thanks for the hide qmunz

I actually get the hint! Subway... pipe! trains are in a subway which is basically a huge pipe.
Well it took some help from a previous finder, who hobbled across the road, putting us out of our misery. Hint unhelpful. Its 3m from the pipe, towards the sign. All good, contents nice and dry. Thanks for the hide.
A planned geocaching trip with specific targets.
1: The final 2 caches to fill my D/T grid
2: The last 5 caches available (all in the South Island) to meet the NZ Jasmer challenge GC4R9Z6
3: Get as many caches as possible in a day (Solo)
I had no timetable and only a vague route (Christchurch - Dunedin- Invercargill). So after 20 days of sleeping in my tent/car I arrived home having traveled 4500km and visited some interesting places. Met some great people. I had found over 650 caches. That was a lot of park. Jump out out. Find cache sign and return. Then on to the next. All this done by myself. Also attended an event and had 2 FTF
Mission 1 and 2 were achieved and I had a best day of 153 caches. All this done by myself.
Day 1 Hamilton to Wellington 31 caches.
There was a van parked at GZ so I waited in the car. When there was no movement I went forward to find the van empty. I read the hint and when I finally found the cache I had a laugh. Thank you for the placement.

It took us a wee while to find this cache, as the GPS took a while to settle, and we found the hint rather confusing. TFTC
Today we had to make a decision on how to travel from taupo to Mt Taranaki. We made it halfway (till Ohukune). Several possibilities, but we decided to travel along the dessert road, having an amazing view at the volcanos and find some caches along the way. We where succesful as it comes to the view, but the caches where disappointing in some way; dangerous parking, jsut being unlucky searching around or even spotting it in an area where people do take a shit (really)… Thats why we ended up logging these caches in a general log. Thanks for hiding those caches we found!
Yeh Finally found this bigger cache somewhat south of my GPS reading but found at last!on the last leg of of journey up around coromandel. We travelled north and are holidaying in and around the Coromandel staying in motels, with friends and in our tent while getting out each day to see the sights, swim in the beautiful beaches or go for walks etc as well as locating a few geocaches, of course. We have had good weather the whole time with just a few showers at night and some wind while at Hahei.
Found our first cache on this trip round NI and left trackable 1QBVQN which we found in Sydney
This week is my with Ethness in the North Island. We are driving from Wellington to Auckland, with a few detours. It is a 5 day trip.
Today is day one after spending the night in Palmerston North we went out geocaching around the town before heading to Hamilton
We were stopping for larger geocaches and enjoying others on the way.
Sadly there is no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. I plan on going to the OzGeomuster in July. To find out more visit this site: https://www.ozgeomuster.com.au
If you can't make Aussie. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland. I will keep you posted in my logs.
Thanks for hiding this geocache.

Appalling weather for caching but I did it anyway! I found the most caches out of all the days on my holiday, just because they were mostly drive by's... Very cool hide, TFTC!!
We parked on the other side of the road, as we were heading up toward Taupo, and dodged major holiday traffic to get to Ground Zero.
The cache took some finding, as initially we weren't looking in the right place, but eventually I went back through previous logs and got a better understanding of where I should be. I prodded with a toe at a possible spot and was rewarded with a noise. Nice big container, so dropped in a trinket and a personal token.
Thanks for the hide.

The Central North Island, Day 4: Taupo - National Park
Today’s weather started of particularly wet but that tapered off a little in the afternoon before a light drizzle returned later on. Oddly enough, I didn’t really need to use a raincoat, just a windbreaker sufficed for most part. Some very unique landscapes along the way, and had a lot of fun exploring the Lake, Desert and Mountains of the region. A surprisingly very productive day for caching, too! A great Christmas Eve all round!
The following are the specific log for each cache:
Another short stopover here for a cache. This one was quickly found after diving into the trenches. Luckily this one was dry despite the weather. All good here, TFTC!

Heading towards the Waikato today and had time to hunt out a few caches along the way. I took longer than I should have to find this as I had a (wrong) preconceived idea as to what sort of hide it might be. Nicely done and it's good to see a reasonably sized container. Signed log, TFTC!
One of the many caches during this year's vacation. Thanks to all of you who contributed in hiding and maintaining those caches. You are those ones who made this hobby possible.
Good hint and a nice size container
