Went for a drive with Dad. No luck with this one. We found a 2l container but no swag and it wasn't hidden. May need a check if someone is driving by.
Excellent views.
Excellent views.
Visited this one with blingg during the State Orienteering championships just 2Km. down the hill (in fact, the cache site is on the Orienteering map). Needed quite a search, as one of the spoilers proved to be a red herring. See blingg's comments on the state of the cache and his temporary repairs. (Wish I'd realised we needed a spare container.) TFTH. TNLNSL
Decided to go looking for this cache after orienteering just down the road. Found it after much searching, container was crushed and had 1/2 litre of water in it, everything except a plastic crab and frilled necked lizard were mush so were discarded.note book placed in a new plastic bag and cache container in another plastic bag and replaced upside down in original location.

This is really weird. Had planned to pick this one up on my walk through to Mt Dale campsite and expected the cache on Mt Dale. Got to Mt Dale the GPSr was indicating some 600 metres SW. So thought okay, remembered the details wrong, must be off one of tracks south of the mountain. No worries will walk in on my way to the campsite. Did that, no cache where my GPSr was saying it should be. Grrr. Had even carried a replacement container.
Get home, check the cache page and maps. Shows as being on Mt Dale (logical). Check coordinates in GPSr. They are wrong! That is weird as I upload my waypoints from GSAK and GSAK is showing the correct coordinates.
Ah well, an excuse to come back to camp in the area again.

Went for a nice wet long drive up to Mt Dale, been there a few times in the past for the great view, this time for the cache! Despite the container being munched, the cache was quite dry but I doubt this will be the case in future! Suggest a new container for this cache! TFTC
Wow what a drive in the rain, found with CuZZa and we got totally soaked, but good fun, Cache was surprising dry, even though the container is totally wrecked. NEEDS REPLACEMENT CONTAINER ASAP - especially because winter is here!
Grabbed a travel bug, TFTC!!!

West Australian Orienteering Champs nearby. Nice views, poor container though, cache very wet. TFTC
Decided on a picnic in the bush so this seemed an ideal spot. A smooth 4wd trip and great views at the end. A popular spot in the fine weather. TFTH T tiger toy and L 1964 Australian penny.
Left TB Fisher Nuts First Bug so he could scan the whole coastline from the hills to check out the next fishing spot.

Found this one on Sunday, along with everyone else it seems! I would have been there at the same time as the others without knowing. (I was the solo hiker who looked like he hadn't slept, eaten or showered for 3 days.) Walked there from Kalamunda on the Bib Track, it was a bit of a detour but well worth it. Awesome view from the top of the hill, was a great day and so could see Perth pretty clearly way off in the distance. TFTH!

found cache today, did a few of them around the area with guys from perth4x4.net great cache guys
First find of the day with PERTH4x4 and even for those that live in the area it was an awesome view. TNLN SL TFTH
Found the cache - no problem. Oh dear the view was so beautiful - loves this area. TNLN Thank you for organise the cache and hunt.
The road in needs a good grade as it is very bumpy. Picked an evening drive as I was bored at home, saw the roos before I could damage them and looked over to the lights at Kwinana when I got to the end. I found the cache upside down with the lid loose but everything is dry and I pushed it a bit further under it's hiding spot. I wasn't expecting to see that tower up here either.

Oops! The date's approximate, as I found this one months and months ago (it's now MAR06!) and never logged it!
I was driving around looking for cache locations and wandered along this road and thought I should check out the cache and the view. (Being above 500m has become a novelty since leaving NZ!)
It seems almost unfair that an ordinary icecream container that's almost visible from the road should have lasted so long and so well!
I put it back on the other side of the grass tree, I think. (I have no idea if I swapped anything, after all this time.)

Had a very bumpy, slow journey down Dale Road as our car was definately not made for any kind of offroading!
The wait was well worth it though...absolutely stunning views at an altitude of 555m above sea level.
After taking in the scenery and a bite to eat, went off to find the cache which was located easily. TNLN, thanx for a breathtaking view.

0001hrs while on fire support turned on the GPS and found I was standing within 2m of a cache. TNLN saw flames.
Cache should be fine as the fire was burning S/W.
[:(!] would like to get my hands on the fire bug.

Did this one after "A long way from the western front" so I did a scenic drive coming down reseviour road. awesome view from the summit car park.
We went up Dale Rd and the cache isn't a drive up right now since the road is closed some 300 meters as the crow flies from the summit. There's a barricade and tape across the road, like CSI. So we walked up, thought the road was washed out or something, but it was fine. It's a steep climb, though. T: ear plugs L: pen Thanx, we had a good time.
I never parked closer to a cache 'B4' when I pulled up to my amazement the GPS said it was 2 meters to my right so I stepped out and there it was. Great views from the other side of the tower and they are starting to build a lookout, the foundations are laid and the rocks are ready to be placed. Great area never been here 'B4'.

Thanx for the hunt Team "Unknown"
The cache was extremely visable from a long distance so I've placed a rock in front of the grasstree to help hide it.

4.15PM: Drove to the top where the Radio Aerial stands and next to the grass tree. Found it on the spot. TNLNSL. Mt Dale is one of our favourite spots. Thanks for bringing us up for another trip to it. Road grader is in processing on the worse section of corrugated track. Thanks.
Another great spot that everyone should go to. Great views and drove up to the cache.Gave my new $1000 shockies a good workout over the 17km of corrogations.

This was Kathryn's chance to find this cache by herself. After driving up to the top, she took over the GPS and proceeded to walk the remaining 30 metres and found the cache quickly. She took a PMH bear, and left a cake of soap.

This was a really easy cache to find with locks on 11 satellites. And the view was just magnificent. A great location.
A lovely drive on a warm sunny day nice views too, thought it was a little tricky to find but then there it was ...
A good cache,
But it took a while to find, as it was hidden very well. The views are fantastic.

We were up there Sunday around 10:30. Looks like everyone else was here before us. Pathfinder team were on Saturday we noted. Sunday was cool clear and so sunny. A wonderfull place to picnic and enjoy the views to the city on the horizon. Take your binoculars and if time permits you can walk part of the Bib trail to see one of the huts. (its about 3km to the south). We took the knife and our son has already used it on the arm rest of the car (grrrrr) so we think we will drop that in a cache soon. Left some party stuff, and a puzzle.
We decided to look for this one before we started out day walk down the Bib. Track. A great view, well worth going to see! Too bad they pulled down the old wooden tower.

First to find this one, I have not been up here for about ten years and the gravel road did not seem as bad as it was.
Took Olly with me swapped monkey key ring for small pocket knife keyring.
I would recommend everyone go have a look at the views from here.
