The new road is going through here and we've decided to archive it as the Alphabet Soup series is no longer a full set anyway.
#562. While I knew this was temporarily unavailable, I also knew there was more than one way to get to it despite riczardo's log and had been meaning to try for a while. There is more news about the works in area which prompted me to try and I will email the CO. The attached photo is the view from right next to the cache.
Having said all that, I made an easy find on a hot afternoon. Another letter in the alphabet.

I think we'll make this unavailable while the works are going on and reconsider its long term placement.
Only two made it to this site. Very hard with young kids especially so close to the main road.
Tidying up a few caches that are on the to do list...this was a bit of a challenge muddy ..but I guess that's what you get in winter in Hamilton.....soon found the cache, sadly it is showing its age...container lid broken ..log all good though...signed and replaced as found thanks Steed & Peel for the cache
I think there might be a muddy path and a clean path to this cache. Yes, I took the less desirable!! Cache needs TLC. Thanks for bringing us here steedandpeel.
Hitch over from Tauranga to do the new wherigo. Love doing them. This was one on my way out so had to go in for the grab. Cache is in need of some TLC. It's broken. Another one done. Tftc
Out riding my bike around Hamilton, and picking up some caches along the way. Nice hide, cheers
Out today clearing some areas and to turn into nice yellow smiles was nice to be accompanied by caching buddy NZ Flossy Many Thanks to all you cache owners for the placement. Cheers
On a road with McJandals over the hill to Hamilton. An early start to make the most of the day. We had lots of laughs and quite a bit of mud and took a few wrong turns. Thanks to all the CO’s for their caches TFTC
Looked for this during our visit to the Hamilton Gardens. GPS brought us to GZ pretty easily and recognised the prickly situation we were about to get into... luckily we found a very helpful little track to get around that one. Found the 'G' which is looking a little bit the worse for wear. Lid is cracked and surroundings have been chewed on?? but cache is in surprisingly good condition. We might have to come back to complete the rest of the alphabet series TFTC
A lovely midweek visit to Hamilton to meet up with Sarahbee20 and score some caches in this area. I love visiting Hamilton Gardens, but I've really only visited the actual gardens, so it was great to walk around the outer paths and explore the grounds. This one was a little outside the grounds near the road so after finding it we backtracked to continue our walkabout on a quieter path. Once again SB20 was on to this one - scrabbling under the bushes. Tftc.
A midweek visit from Kathykaches and what else to do but go out and score some caches. We had a lovely walk around the outer Hamilton gardens - did not realise how big the gardens actually are and more than just the central bit that everyone visits. Walked round and found an appropriate path to GZ then a dive to grab the cache. Nice G! Thanks for the cache
Late to log as I'd forgotten I'd saved these logs on my phone, rather than the GPS as I usually do. No problems with the find, although the ground was a bit slippery with those round bombyknocker things. Another awesome unique container from the CO.
TFTC steedandpeel, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 1 find(s) of 2 today, making this find #1661

Greetings from Canberra, Australia! While my friend was looking at the University, I decided to take a nice walk around the local area to get some more caches that we missed the other day. It was bit of an effort walk along the side of the narrow road up from the gardens to the cemetery - it was not made any easier by the warm day that I chose to get the cache. It took a bit of time to find the correct walking path to GZ, however once it was found it was a nice easy walk. Quick and very cool find at GZ. TNLNSL. TFTC!
The last for the day in Hamilton. G - whizz. Walked along the grassed bank near the road from the Danes in NZ cache, to find this one. I have enjoyed doing some of this series so will be back to do more. I certainly did a take on this one, but left the item behind. tftc
Is that what I think it is? OK,that makes sense now. Favourite point for innovative camouflage. TFTC.
I bought some new trail shoes so needed an excuse or five to break them in a little. Found when I realised what I was looking for! Cheers.
Couldn't find this. We are quite new to the caching game so this was a bit out of our league.
A nice walk to this cache.on our way home from visiting my brother. Cache all good tftc
A nice walk along here, just as well it wasn't a boxing glove cause we hit it fair and square. TFTC
We needed a walk after eating a bit too much at the Hamilton Gardens cafe.
+ a marble, - nothing.

13/08/16 15:50 Took the bus over here to pick up a car & go out for dinner. Parked at end of the cemetery & took correct path. Well, on the 2nd attempt, I did anyway. Was wracking my brain(s) for a suitable 'G' word when - aha! My geocaching ones were in the car... Thanks for the fun, Cheers, GC.
Having an excellent day with West Aucklanders. Have come down for 2 days of fun, caching, eating, and meeting other cachers. Hoping one day to do the whole series of this cache. Thanks steedandpeel, I saw you two at the event today but didn't get a chance to say hello. So hello!
With "Team Westie" we seemed to take the long way, with a walk around from the letterbox cache. Thankfully a member in our group has walked this park many times (thanks ric) who navigated us around the gully, rather than thru it Loved the camo and the adventure. I think this might be my first cache in this series, only 25 to go!
Got the bonus of meeting the CO at the event today.

Thankfully we had someone familiar with this area with us otherwise if we had followed our compass we would have taken the 'G' to a whole different level... Gully! I loved the themed container too!
Found today with our Westies Group on our Hamilton Weekend Away doing Wherigos and Puzzles !
Cute "container "!
Thank you steedandpeel !

Was here the day before and had tried to come in to it from the wrong side. Previous logs had not been helpful. Definitely did not want to get lost in there. Had visions of torture. Returning today after a nudge at breakfast and we strolled up to this one and spotted it quickly. Clever cache - fortunately the trim gave it away for us. Where is the other?
Team Westie blended in well with the Pokomon players for a quick find. Busy spot even in the not so good weather.
Goodness Gracious, thank God we had a Geocacher with us who knew where he was Going. We could have ended up in a Gully otherwise. After so much rain I was pleased I had my Gumboots on. Thanks Guys for a Great hide!
We galloped off to grab this one - and found ourselves on the wrong side of the gully this time. Gave up the idea of going down the gully! Went back to car and started again. Glad to have found it.
Once I found the right place to enter from I was fine. At first I was sure that this wasn't the cache haha nice disguise! Didn't actually know it was possible to go here tbh thanks for showing me this and tftc
I was in the area today running the Orienteering course that is permanently set up at the Hamilton Gardens and decided to make a little detour for this Geocache. I had found the earlier version so new what to expect. I think I may have disturbed a drug deal going down on my way to GZ. Two dodgy looking ‘gentleman’ were meeting at the end of the road at the turn around, right around the corner out of sight. I think I startled them and they quickly left when I came around the corner.
Golly gosh great Geocache. I gazed, gasped and gently grabbed this Geo goodness yelling Geronimo!

9.35am. Found a place to park and walked in. Managed to avoid most of the spikes and soon had this in hand. This container is a first for me.
Thank you. David.
Thank you. David.
Found today after the ANZAC service. Had to locate the correct path but no trouble after that. Tftc
The cache might be 'take 2' and it took us two goes to be on the right side After that, it was all good fun and we were interested that our choice for G was present at the cache! Tftc and the clever placement.
Jimsta and Moose - Mission 3/8
Also tried to approach from the wrong side to start with, did consider trying to cross, but opted for going around to the road-side. Moose thought we knew where it was but it was my and that I trust into the spiky spot to retrieve the hilariously themed container. I did make Moose put it back, but he managed to avoid all of the spikes.

Find 3 of the day with Jimsta. Clever choice of container. Managed to get it back in its hiding place without a scratch TFTC
I tried to approach from the inside only to be stopped by bamboo. After walking around come to the likely spot. I must have searched several trees and received many scratches before I moved to the right place and found the cache. TFTC.
A morning off so time to get some town caches back today with protective clothing and soon got it tftc
Been a bit of a slow start to the year, time for another road trip!
A quick find here. TFTC

1652 A dot day and traveled back from Wellington so had to collect before I starting my packing for a long weekend tramp. Glad therefore it was a quick find. Have to hand it to the CO for the ingenuity.
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We have a small target list for today.
We were unsure how to locate this hide. We ventured into the park to see if the cache was accessible. But an impassable gully ran between us and the cache. It appeared that the best approach was from the roadside, and Gap is never one to shy away from these sorts... We parked safely and quickly made our way to ground zone. It took a minute or so for the iPhone gps to settle before we made the find. TFTC.

10.20am - Bit of a late start today, so we decided to hit Hamilton again. At first we were on the wrong side of the water to find this cache. Back tracked and with a different approach we soon had cache in hand. SLTFTC
Like the last finder I too was out collecting steps and ended up with a 10 walk but really getting addicted to the walking business especially when theres a cache involved.
No problem with the find.

In the midst of a month-long challenge with a mate to reach 10,000 steps each per day. Except my day at work typically only generates ~ 3000, hence I'm walking the streets of Hamilton while waiting to collect the kids from sports practice, instead of my more usual habit of sitting with a good book! Makes it a lot more fun when there's a cache to collect along the way too ... so this was tonight's target. Nice 4 km return
walk tonight & a lovely evening to be out & about. Great co-ords meant it was a nice straightforward find when I got to GZ, although was glad of the phone torch to light the way to the well camo'd hide. Nice hide! Thanks for another cool cache

Shot out tonight after dinner to see if I could clean up the alphabet. A short stroll to the GZ showed me yet again how little I knew the little known paths around my own home town.
At GZ the caching gods must have been shining down on me as I picked first time, didn't get a prick and had the well camo'ed cache in hand in short order.
Thanks for another letter to add to my list of Alphabet caches
Thanks for the placement

Had a spare bit of time today so took the long way home to grab a few new hides in Hamilton. A few muggles about looking after there horse's but parked up and headed off to GZ. A quick search and the cache was spotted where the hint said it was. Thanks for the hide.
Grabbing a few unfound caches here and there, took a while to find due to the prickly bush and a well camoed container
Nicely done!

This was literally a prick of a cash. Parked at a likely spot to see another car there only to see a guy walking back to his car smoking, from a different direction. 3 examples of a prickly bush. After 5 minutes came up with the goods. A bit wet with the recent rain.another ftf thanks. Logged at 0935. On the way out in the car hands and arms got very itchy- must be that prickly stuff.!!
