The tall pine is gone now but we stood on its huge stump. Thanks for the story that goes with this cache!
Off on our annual birthday caching trip, Purrfect Di, Mattycat and Jack coming along for the ride...
This year it's cleaning out Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park time. Something I started back on new year's eve 2012/2013 with two of my sons!
Today for Matty's 19th (maths...cats...) , on the 19th, we found 19 caches... yours was one of them !
A nice wander around the town, and family, history! Looks like some work being done on the house.
We are grateful to earthlight for planning and maintaining this cache on our ever growing SA cache map!
---
Travelling all over wherever we can - searching, spotting hidden items and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guess or plain old dumb luck
Heaps of the luck stuff really !!!
*Most of the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course*.**
---
Beware ! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, floodwaters, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for bugs !!! . [xx(]
Ensure Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on (Covid cancels caching!)
Keep a safe distance - cache the countryside
Great of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting
We do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and we can put an end to these long logs !!!
[:o)]

We grabbed the odd cache or two if we were passing by.
Many thanks for the hide earthlight

After an early start to the day in Edithburgh, we headed out on a coolish day with iluvtrekking to grab some finds in Innes NP and others a bit further afield. Thanks Earthlight and X-Trailers
Another cache found with richlink on our 2022 South Australian Adventure.
We set off early on a cold and cloudy morning with the threat of rain, which fortunately didn't eventuate. We enjoy the small towns, beaches, cliffs, history and ruins we encounter along the way. Thanks for your cache Earthlight and The X-Trailers.

Day 7 school holiday adventures in SA saw us hit up the national park. What an amazing place. We spent most of the day here finding random caches as we went. Easy find here. Loved the walk around the old village and all the history along the way. Thanks for the cache
Terrific stories of your POP and memories of those days bygone have made this series really interesting! Day 7 in SA after numerous trips were sabotaged due to you know what and its the first day it has not been more than a chilly brisk! The Innes National Park and it’s caches was high on the list along with several other random caches so hoping to tick all boxes before heading back to home base. I’m out on trusty treadles aka my mtb to explore the trails and surroundings. I’ve learnt theRE are plenty of quality SA caches - plenty to pique the curiosity and anticipation of another surprise or fun cache. Happy and relieved to record no DNF’s today and on average most were located ‘relatively’ quickly. TFTC AND THE FUN and the effort to contribute to this fave game
Checked on cache andcreplaced with another as old one rusty and lid off. All ok now.
A nice walk around this historic town. A lot of work on the accommodation has occurred since I last paid attention. TFTC
We are traveling around this big country and are exploring the Yorke Peninsula. Staying here at Marion bay and went to visit the National Park and collect a few caches. This was a quick find for us, so more time to admire the emu chicks hangin around with dad nearby! TFTC
Found while caching with Shonkylogic for the day. I came over to start on the power trails but this was a much more inviting option thanks for a great trail and enjoyable walk. Cache in good condition.

Out for a stroll with Southern Cross Caching around Innes National Park. We started walking at Inneston and cached our way back to Stenhouse Bay, following the old railway line and the fire trail spurs.
There was very interesting history here, I was only vaguely aware of the fact that a train used to run along here. It would have been interesting seeing it operating, probably not at shinkansen speeds
The houses around Inneston have been well preserved and it would be good to book one sometime for a stay.
This cache was found using a Garmin GPS 64s at 10:52:00 AM and was 6 of 28 finds today.
Thanks earthlight

This weekend, I headed to the Yorke Peninsula. The goal was to visit Innes National Park for the Saturday to find a few of the oldie geocaches, but also to enjoy a different vicinity for geocaching. I used Edithburgh to base myself for the weekend's activities. On the drive to/from Edithburgh, I visited Ardrossan, Port Vincent, Wool Bay, and Coobowie, and also visited as far south as Sultana Point and Troubridge Point.
Today, after participating in Edithburgh parkrun, I met gridge98 at Marion Bay, and we travelled through Innes National Park. We drove up to Browns Beach, and then made our way back visiting and hiking Royston Head, West Cape Lightstation, Ethel Beach, Cape Spencer Lighthouse, and the historic township of Inneston. With a few hours left before the Edithburgh dinner event, we separated and I decided to head north to visit a few Yorke Peninsula oldie geocaches. Following dinner, gridge98 and I walked from Edithburgh to Coobowie find the *Where Ancestors Walked By the Sea* series.
We walked around this old Inneston historic town, finding this cache as we passed through. This cache was found reasonably quickly, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks [@earthlight](http://coord.info/PR39X1P) and The X-Trailers for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

A nice walk around this area today. The cache here was easily found and is all in good order
A quick overnight trip to the Yorkes for 1.5 days of solid caching. I did a bit of the geoart by myself before meeting up with Davidwazza for a majority of the day caching around Innes National Park. With an event in the evening in Edithburgh headed over there before going for a nice walk along the water front for the evening. Day 2 I made my way from Edithburgh along the coast line and back home by lunch time. A total of 169 caches for the trip.
Thanks for the cache

Found within 50 metres from where we were staying in the Managers Lodge while visiting Innes National Park for a few days. Thanks for the cache earthlight and The X-Trailers!
Found It!
A nice little spot and a quick find. Not a bad view either!

Inneston is a town we know well being here many times over our lives.
Today was back doing a maintenance run and noticed the engineers house had been maintained but sadly the managers house looking a little sad.
Hopefully next visit some repairs will be in progress on that one.
Cache was all ok

We spent yesterday exploring Innes National Park, and naively thought we could cover it all in one day. We’re back here today to show everyone we were wrong! It’s such a wonderful place, full of fantastic views, history and wonderful bush walks. We did stop a few times yesterday to grab caches, and today we hope to finish off both the caches and the exploring as we need to move on tomorrow or we won’t be home when we need to be. Such a shame, but we have decided that we need to come back to the Yorke Peninsular and spend more time enjoying it.
We know they’re not natives but the freshias looked and smelt great as we crossed the grass to get to this one.

Sad to see the large tree no longer standing at the Managers house.

Today Gary and I wandered around Innes National Park - we loved it! Some of the cache hides were easy, others were more challenging, but overall we enjoyed a wonderful day with fantastic weather.

Woo hoo, the lovely Micaparamedic and I decided we would attend the June Long Weekend Event in South Australia (Edithburgh) and make the most of a road trip to the glorious Yorke Peninsula by spending a week away - NICE! [^]
We particularly enjoyed exploring Innes National Park and focussing on the new earth caches on the YP and in Burra.

Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about with some of those friends and we targeted this cache.
Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!

#2442 Making our way through the streets of Inneston soaking in the history of the place we spotted the most amazing blue coloured lake near gz. Through a combination of the cache page write up and interpretive signs on the ground we enjoyed reading the history connected to the grand old house elevated up the side of the hill. It was certainly a busy home back in the day!! TFTC earthlight.
Roaming the towne,
I dropped by the pine tree
Lovely spot with a nice view across the 'lawn' to the lake
Not far away,
about a seven iron,
I found the cache

First we must appologise for the generic logs.
We came to Yorke Peninsular with Speedmistress who hails from Queensland to cache our little hearts out and this we are doing.
We solved loads of puzzles prior to coming and with all the earth, multi, trads and puzzles there are here we were never lacking in variety.
When we found caches that needed repair we have done our best to do what was possible, unfortunately we have now rum out of spare containers, so no more repairs can be done. We have enjoyed the scenery, the walks, the animal life and the challenges that was encountered while traveling the Peninsular. Not all the caches have been attempted due to time restraints but those have been earmarked for future visits.
We also would like to thank Speedmistress for supplying our geocaching chariot.
A huge thanks to all the cache owners for placing these caches for us to enjoy.

On this occassion, I am doing a generic log. I very much enjoyed the series. Some great insights along the way. I have travelled from Queensland to meet up with Muff1 for a Geocaching extravaganza on the beautiful Yorke Peninsular. Our goal to Cache, Cache and Cache. Each day our "finds" have been growing in number, some days more productive then others. We have also been careful to take time to appreciate the natural wonder of the areas we have visited. The variety of caches was interesting, some very clever, some the quick grab they were designed to be. A big thank you to all of the dedicated Cache placers who have made this possible.
Have always loved this little hut. The campground is a great spot for families with such a lovely beach for the kids to explore. TFTC
This certainly ranks as a Touch of the Past
Has everything except a cemetery which I understand they never had here
Have spent many times down here
A special time for us all when our Pop was pushed around the Township in a wheel chair and told his great grandchildren of life growing up here as a lad during the war days

Camped at Point Turton, and this morning we headed down to the National Park, with Konie.
We decided to do the walk first, which was very enjoyable, in the cool of the day.
All caches were found reasonable easy, but #10 took us longer than it should have.
Many thanks for placing this cache, earthlight, for us and others to find.

Staying at Point Turton and decided to head south to the National Park and do the caches along the coast today with The Drovers.
We started off with the walking trail which was very interesting with a few tricky hides along the way.
Once the log was signed all caches were returned as found.

Today we are heading back to the Yorke peninsula to chase a few first to finds up for grabs and continue finding caches here, its great to be back on the Yorke peninsula and what was suppose to be a overnight stay ended up being 2 nights and 3 days here on the Yorke peninsula, we managed to find quite a few while here and on our third day we had to head back earlier than planned after car issues, the weather was very pleasant while here and we look forward to returning back here to keep finding more caches, we packed the push bikes to make doing this trail easier and while they made it easier the pushies became a pain every time we needed to take something out of the car as there was one in the boot and the other on the back seat, time to invest in a bike carrier i reckon lol, it was a great ride along here and some of the hides were very evil but we managed to find them all...in the end lol, the horse flies through here are quite thick and i killed over 20 of the blighters, I even got to see a mallee fowl while i was here so that was a highlight for me : ) TFTC
Realising last night that I had nothing on today, I decided to go or a late night drive.
Arriving at Stenhouse Bay about 4.30am, I tried sleeping as it was raining but as soon as the rain stopped I headed out on the pushbike, in the dark, to find some caches.
Even at night, this is a lovely area with the night creatures' sounds, the sighing of the wind and the patter of misting (and sometimes a bit heavier) rain
It wasn't long before daylight dawned and I had a blast riding the rocky, sandy and tree branch riddled track
Branches hung low and many times I had to duck to avoid hitting my head.
I saw a fox, emus, kangaroos, birds, many rabbits and a malleefowl , there just happened to be a malleefowl sign right near where I saw it cross the track to tell me what it was
After riding the track, I rode back along the road to the car and then spent the day just sightseeing and casually caching
The day's total cache finds was 23 with 15 FTFs
Having been to this area previously with the CO, I have heard some great stories and enjoyed these trails this morning. The signs are informative and the peace and serenity of riding through dripping wet bush is awesome! [^]
Woohoo! *FTF*
Sitting under the Manager's house verandah and reading a book while listening to the rain on the steel roof, watching the rain blow across the valley and seeing that massive tree is magical
