TFTC. Happy caching and safe travels!____________________________________Yorke Peninsula 2023 trip (10 days)Day 1 : Travel to YP, set up camp at Point Turton Day 2 : Marion Bay/Innes NP & surrounds
Revisit to Innes National Park after quite a few years. Still enjoy the views. Quite a few changes since our last time in the area, some good and some not so. Great scenic drive on a blustery winter's day. Quick find. Tftc.
Limited reception made it tricky and in the rain. Found it none the less. Tftc
A nice quick find. Found with TashiBear on 14/2 on day 2 of our honeymoon. TFTC
Fairly quick find. Nice little area. Found with SquidKid96 on day two of our honeymoon. TFTC
Off on our annual birthday caching trip, Purrfect Di, Mattycat and Jack coming along for the ride...
This year it's cleaning out Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park time. Something I started back on new year's eve 2012/2013 with two of my sons!
Today for Matty's 19th (maths...cats...) , on the 19th, we found 19 caches... yours was one of them !
A nice stroll here up the track.
We are grateful to The X-Trailers for planning and maintaining this cache on our ever growing SA cache map!
---
Travelling all over wherever we can - searching, spotting hidden items and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guess or plain old dumb luck
Heaps of the luck stuff really !!!
*Most of the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course*.**
---
Beware ! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, floodwaters, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for bugs !!! . [xx(]
Ensure Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on (Covid cancels caching!)
Keep a safe distance - cache the countryside
Great of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting
We do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and we can put an end to these long logs !!!
[:o)]
The end. For now...

The end. For now...
After an early start to the day in Edithburgh, we headed out on a coolish day with iluvtrekking to grab some finds in Innes NP and others a bit further afield. Thanks X-Trailers-Earthlight
Another cache found with richlink on our 2022 South Australian Adventure.
We set off early on a cold and cloudy morning with the threat of rain, which fortunately didn't eventuate. We enjoy the small towns, beaches, cliffs, history and ruins we encounter along the way. Thanks for your cache Earthlight and The X-Trailers.

Day 7 school holiday adventures in SA saw us hit up the national park. What an amazing place. We spent most of the day here finding random caches as we went. Easy find here. A few quick ones on the way out. Will need to return to complete the trails. Thanks for the cache
Faffed around here with GPS! Terrific stories of your POP and memories of those days bygone have made this series really interesting! Day 7 in SA after numerous trips were sabotaged due to you know what and its the first day it has not been more than a chilly brisk! The Innes National Park and it’s caches was high on the list along with several other random caches so hoping to tick all boxes before heading back to home base. I’m out on trusty treadles aka my mtb to explore the trails and surroundings. I’ve learnt theRE are plenty of quality SA caches - plenty to pique the curiosity and anticipation of another surprise or fun cache. Happy and relieved to record no DNF’s today and on average most were located ‘relatively’ quickly. TFTC AND THE FUN and the effort to contribute to this fave game
Found while exploring this afternoon. Would love to complete the rest of the trail one day when we have time. TFTC
Found with gridge98 on a weekend away to the yorke peninsula.
Thanks for the cache
Thanks for the cache
This was our main attack for the day, we set off from the Marion bay end and headed along the trail finding them, we found all but one cache along this trail. All the other caches are in good order. Watch out for the magpie near the old buildings too.
A big trip away to the yorke peninsula planned for the weekend travelling around touristing and have a look at sights I’ve seen before, plus camping over the 4 days wherever we needed up at the end of the day. Plus why not find 116 caches along the way for the trip. Despite the wind on the first evening the rest of the trip we were delighted by the beautiful weather.
Thanks for the cache

Couldn't quite make it to this last one on Friday night as the light was fading and had to walk back to Mallee Lodge before it got dark. So grabbed it the next day as we were driving past. Thanks
Out for a stroll with Southern Cross Caching around Innes National Park. We started walking at Inneston and cached our way back to Stenhouse Bay, following the old railway line and the fire trail spurs.
There was very interesting history here, I was only vaguely aware of the fact that a train used to run along here. It would have been interesting seeing it operating, probably not at shinkansen speeds
The houses around Inneston have been well preserved and it would be good to book one sometime for a stay.
This cache was found using a Garmin GPS 64s at 10:18:00 AM and was 2 of 28 finds today.
Thanks The X-Trailers

Found while visiting Innes National Park and staying for several nights in the Inneston Managers Lodge. Today I set out on my bicycle for an interesting tour of Inneston finding caches along the way. Thanks for the cache The X-Trailers and Earthlight!
Our second day exploring this wonderful park, today we started at Stenhouse bay, exploring walking tracks and find a few caches along the way, after lunch we decided a walk would work off some food, a walk along the fire track was next on our list, disturbed a few kangaroos along the way but the cache was soon found and signed

A quick find here to start the walk. A tree branch has collapsed at GZ. Not sure if the cache is still in the right spot or not.

Back in SA for Xmas so doing maintenance run down here for earthlight and ourselves.
It's a year since being in Innes National Park and still love it.
Due to the bush being over grown we have now moved the cache slightly to a skinny tree next to bush.
It is cable tied to tree.
Cache all ok for next finder

After a week on the power trails with only diversions here and there to pick up other caches we are treating ourselves to a day in the Innes National Park.
A chance to maybe see some wonderful scenery and the native flora and fauna and even a lighthouse or two.
One of the two final caches for the day as we return back to our camp after a truly wonderful day.
Took a while but we finally spotted it.

The SWAGJJ team has embarked on day 3 and are enjoying the caching pleasures of the Yorke Peninsula! So much on offer and such a wondrous part of our great land! So many caches makes for a busy and fun filled day! Amazing views today and rather windy ! TFTC
Team SWAGJJ is visiting the Yorke Peninsula this week to complete the geo art and collect traditionals, multis and other types along the way. Seeing some amazing country side and views as well. Thanks to all the COs for placing these caches.
Yorke Peninsula Day 3: A small break for power trails (after a quick 60 caches from the fishing line...). Then we collected caches around the Yorketown and Edithburgh area and in the Innes National Park. Some spectacular scenery to take in, strong winds to battle on top of cliffs, and another exhausting day. Signed as SWAG-JJ. TFTC!
Day 3 visiting Yorke Peninsula from QLD for a week of caching with geo friends Waz and Vic, Ardom, Gcoven, JACS Team and joojoo57.

Woo hoo, the lovely Micaparamedic and I decided we would attend the June Long Weekend Event in South Australia (Edithburgh) and make the most of a road trip to the glorious Yorke Peninsula by spending a week away - NICE! [^]
We particularly enjoyed exploring Innes National Park and focussing on the new earth caches on the YP and in Burra.

Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about with some of those friends and we targeted this cache.
Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!

A slow wander along with Team Waldron had us finding these ones where were found them. Sometimes we looked at the hint and it helped! No one around today.
Thanks to The X-Trailers and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!
So many cars deciding to drive by as we are searching. Coupled with all the flies, this was a toughy, but we got there in the end. Found with scag0001

On a stroll around the park today,
I made it to the end of the fire track.
Eek !! Cars !! [:o]
I've only seen a couple all day,
and they were sitting idle in the car park at the gatehouse
I had forgotten how noisy they are after such a peaceful stroll this morning !!
While the cars whizzed past,
I was well out of sight of the muggles inside who might wonder what I was up to outside
It took a bit of poking around,
but eventually the cache was found
TFTC !!
I was going to stroll along the road back to camp,
but decided right then that the slightly longer option of retracing me steps back to the tramway would be much nicer

Beta tested this cache whislt walking the firetrack with The X-trailers.
It was an easy walk and enjoyed the wildlife and scenery along the way.
At the end we walked the Thompson Pfitzner trail to place other caches .A great day was had by us both reminiscing about our times spent over the years.

What a lovely place to go for a walk. This one gave us a little trouble, with Speedmistress, myself and j=hubby all searching - hubby came up with the goods.
First we must appologise for the generic logs.
We came to Yorke Peninsular with Speedmistress who hails from Queensland to cache our little hearts out and this we are doing.
We solved loads of puzzles prior to coming and with all the earth, multi, trads and puzzles there are here we were never lacking in variety.
When we found caches that needed repair we have done our best to do what was possible, unfortunately we have now rum out of spare containers, so no more repairs can be done. We have enjoyed the scenery, the walks, the animal life and the challenges that was encountered while traveling the Peninsular. Not all the caches have been attempted due to time restraints but those have been earmarked for future visits.
We also would like to thank Speedmistress for supplying our geocaching chariot.
A huge thanks to all the cache owners for placing these caches for us to enjoy.

On this occassion, I am doing a generic log. I have travelled from Queensland to meet up with Muff1 for a Geocaching extravaganza on the beautiful Yorke Peninsular. Our goal to Cache, Cache and Cache. Each day our "finds" have been growing in number, some days more productive then others. We have also been careful to take time to appreciate the natural wonder of the areas we have visited. The variety of caches was interesting, some very clever, some the quick grab they were designed to be. A big thank you to all of the dedicated Cache placers who have made this possible.
Camped at Point Turton, and this morning we headed down to the National Park, with Konie.
Enjoyed the drive around the coast line, taking in the views, as we picked up a few caches.
A nice easy trail. Cache located quicly, signed and replaced.
Many thanks for placing this cache, The X-Trailers, for us and others to find.

Staying at Point Turton and decided to head south to the National Park and do the caches along the coast today with The Drovers.
After completing the walking trail we then grabbed a few more caches around the area. All were realatively easy to find.
Once the log was signed all caches were returned as found.
