Off on our annual birthday caching trip, Purrfect Di, Mattycat and Jack coming along for the ride...
This year it's cleaning out Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park time. Something I started back on new year's eve 2012/2013 with two of my sons!

Today for Matty's 19th (maths...cats...) , on the 19th, we found 19 caches... yours was one of them !

Continuing up the track we were joined by an inquisitive emu, who helped us I'm sure!

We are grateful to The X-Trailers for planning and maintaining this cache on our ever growing SA cache map!

Cool

Travelling all over wherever we can - searching, spotting hidden items and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guess or plain old dumb luck WinkCoolBig Grin
Heaps of the luck stuff really !!!

*Most of the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course*.**

Beware ! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, floodwaters, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for bugs !!! . [xx(]

Ensure Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on Wink (Covid cancels caching!)
Keep a safe distance - cache the countryside Big Grin

Great of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting Cool

We do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Wink Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and we can put an end to these long logs !!!

Big Grin [:o)] Wink

The end. For now...

Another cache found with richlink on our 2022 South Australian Adventure.
We set off early on a cold and cloudy morning with the threat of rain, which fortunately didn't eventuate. We enjoy the small towns, beaches, cliffs, history and ruins we encounter along the way. Thanks for your cache Earthlight and The X-Trailers.

Glad I eventually read the hint!. Terrific stories of your POP and memories of those days bygone have made this series really interesting! Day 7 in SA after numerous trips were sabotaged due to you know what and its the first day it has not been more than a chilly brisk! The Innes National Park and it’s caches was high on the list along with several other random caches so hoping to tick all boxes before heading back to home base. I’m out on trusty treadles aka my mtb to explore the trails and surroundings. I’ve learnt theRE are plenty of quality SA caches - plenty to pique the curiosity and anticipation of another surprise or fun cache. Happy and relieved to record no DNF’s today and on average most were located ‘relatively’ quickly. TFTC AND THE FUN and the effort to contribute to this fave game

This was our main attack for the day, we set off from the Marion bay end and headed along the trail finding them, we found all but one cache along this trail. All the other caches are in good order. Watch out for the magpie near the old buildings too.

A big trip away to the yorke peninsula planned for the weekend travelling around touristing and have a look at sights I’ve seen before, plus camping over the 4 days wherever we needed up at the end of the day. Plus why not find 116 caches along the way for the trip. Despite the wind on the first evening the rest of the trip we were delighted by the beautiful weather.

Thanks for the cache

Nearly gave up on this one - looked for ages and the light was failing. Just about to give up so I wasn't walking back to Mallee Lodge in the dark when I spotted it! Thanks for a lovely walk.

Out for a stroll with Southern Cross Caching around Innes National Park. We started walking at Inneston and cached our way back to Stenhouse Bay, following the old railway line and the fire trail spurs.
There was very interesting history here, I was only vaguely aware of the fact that a train used to run along here. It would have been interesting seeing it operating, probably not at shinkansen speeds Wink
The houses around Inneston have been well preserved and it would be good to book one sometime for a stay.

This cache was found using a Garmin GPS 64s at 10:13:00 AM and was 1 of 28 finds today.
Thanks The X-Trailers

Found while caching with Shonkylogic for the day. I came over to start on the power trails but this was a much more inviting thanks for a great trails and enjoyable walk. Cache in good condition.

Our second day exploring this wonderful park, today we started at Stenhouse bay, exploring walking tracks and find a few caches along the way, after lunch we decided a walk would work off some food, a walk along the fire track was next on our list, disturbed a few kangaroos along the way but the cache was soon found and signed

After a week on the power trails with only diversions here and there to pick up other caches we are treating ourselves to a day in the Innes National Park.
A chance to maybe see some wonderful scenery and the native flora and fauna and even a lighthouse or two.
Decided to go a bit further down the track and collect this one to make tomorrow’s effort a bit more localised.
Thought we might have been foolhardy when we arrived at GZ but luckily for us it was spotted quite quickly.

Woo hoo, the lovely Micaparamedic and I decided we would attend the June Long Weekend Event in South Australia (Edithburgh) and make the most of a road trip to the glorious Yorke Peninsula by spending a week away - NICE! [^] Cool

We particularly enjoyed exploring Innes National Park and focussing on the new earth caches on the YP and in Burra.

Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about with some of those friends and we targeted this cache.
Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!

Thanks The X-Trailers for placing this cache.

There was no break from the flies !! [:o]

This installment of the walk took a little longer than the others.
Possibly because of cache blindness Red Face

as I turned around and almost banged me head on the cache Razz

First we must appologise for the generic logs.

We came to Yorke Peninsular with Speedmistress who hails from Queensland to cache our little hearts out and this we are doing.

We solved loads of puzzles prior to coming and with all the earth, multi, trads and puzzles there are here we were never lacking in variety.

When we found caches that needed repair we have done our best to do what was possible, unfortunately we have now run out of spare containers, so no more repairs can be done. We have enjoyed the scenery, the walks, the animal life and the challenges that was encountered while traveling the Peninsular. Not all the caches have been attempted due to time restraints but those have been earmarked for future visits.
We also would like to thank Speedmistress for supplying our geocaching chariot.
A huge thanks to all the cache owners for placing these caches for us to enjoy.

On this occassion, I am doing a generic log. I have travelled from Queensland to meet up with Muff1 for a Geocaching extravaganza on the beautiful Yorke Peninsular. Our goal to Cache, Cache and Cache. Each day our "finds" have been growing in number, some days more productive then others. We have also been careful to take time to appreciate the natural wonder of the areas we have visited. The variety of caches was interesting, some very clever, some the quick grab they were designed to be. A big thank you to all of the dedicated Cache placers who have made this possible.

Spent way too long here. Looked at nearly every tree but to no avail. Sad

19-Feb-16
Today we are heading back to the Yorke peninsula to chase a few first to finds up for grabs and continue finding caches here, its great to be back on the Yorke peninsula and what was suppose to be a overnight stay ended up being 2 nights and 3 days here on the Yorke peninsula, we managed to find quite a few while here and on our third day we had to head back earlier than planned after car issues, the weather was very pleasant while here and we look forward to returning back here to keep finding more caches, we packed the push bikes to make doing this trail easier and while they made it easier the pushies became a pain every time we needed to take something out of the car as there was one in the boot and the other on the back seat, time to invest in a bike carrier i reckon lol, it was a great ride along here and some of the hides were very evil but we managed to find them all...in the end lol, the horse flies through here are quite thick and i killed over 20 of the blighters, I even got to see a mallee fowl while i was here so that was a highlight for me : ) TFTC

Realising last night that I had nothing on today, I decided to go or a late night drive.
Arriving at Stenhouse Bay about 4.30am, I tried sleeping as it was raining but as soon as the rain stopped I headed out on the pushbike, in the dark, to find some caches.
Even at night, this is a lovely area with the night creatures' sounds, the sighing of the wind and the patter of misting (and sometimes a bit heavier) rain Cool
It wasn't long before daylight dawned and I had a blast riding the rocky, sandy and tree branch riddled track Big Grin
Branches hung low and many times I had to duck to avoid hitting my head.

I saw a fox, emus, kangaroos, birds, many rabbits and a malleefowl Cool, there just happened to be a malleefowl sign right near where I saw it cross the track to tell me what it was Wink
After riding the track, I rode back along the road to the car and then spent the day just sightseeing and casually caching Smile
The day's total cache finds was 23 Smile with 15 FTFs Cool

Having been to this area previously with the CO, I have heard some great stories and enjoyed these trails this morning. The signs are informative and the peace and serenity of riding through dripping wet bush is awesome! [^]

A couple of the newer hides in this series are EVIL Twisted and took me ages to find them Red Face however most were quite easy and quick.
the hide types vary and so it is never boring [^]
Woohoo! *FTF* Smile

Twisted EVIL!!!Twisted I looked and looked and while the description stated a camo eclipse tin, the hide was a preformed tube. Surprised
Very sneakily hidden! Twisted
