Day four of Barnzy12 and Cravo10 adventure to the Northwest of WA, filling out boots with LGAs, rare DT, old caches, and good old fashioned red dirt!
Today we travelled from Exmouth to Karratha via
Cape Range national park, nanutarra, fortescue river and a bunch of other remote roads. Today was mainly a driving day, with very few caches found between towns, even with three unlisted archived caches on our list, which we all picked up, one of which hadn't been found for more than three years.
We started the day picking up one cache in cape range national park by team red roo which has sparked our interest "low level lookout", a cache that has only received three fav points but it one of the best caches I've ever done, such a beautiful location, which will stay with me forever. Check the pics, it is simply a must do in Exmouth!
We travelled further along the main highway and stopped at nanutarra road house which is still ridiculously expensive, but who can resist buying something from a place with a reputation like that, it's changed a lot since i was here last.
Another fav was the panabucket cache at the turnoff to panawonica.
We continued along the highway with a few deviations to pickup more caches before arriving in Karratha and picking up a bunch of caches that were mostly park and grabs after Cravo hurt his back trying to find one of kyzabras caches almongst the rocks, so he was on navigation duties and I was left to drive and find!! A rare sight!!
Huge days caching tomorow planned as we head out to the Dampier coast like and the burrup peninsula with a few virtual caches on our hit list. A good days caching today with another LGA knocked off and a few more archived finds.
Thanks to the local COs for their caches.

I did some maintenance and put a nano at ground zero all good for someone one to find
Found this a few months ago so when I saw a couple DNF I decided to check as I remember when I found it it wasn't in a very good spot.
I went out with samuelmason23 and dropped a replacement where the old one was until the owner can get some maintenance. It's a bit of an eyesore so hopefully it will stay live for a little longer for those trying to do the K-Town series.. heading back to K-town 5 to try find it as it has eluded me several times.

I'm on a 50/50 with the K town caches so far - found 2, dnf 2. The phone had me standing in the middle of the drain with this one. Nothing magnetic there. Then a dog in the nearby house started yapping and yapping so I thought I'd better leave before it became a nuisance
TYFC! Finally back up in Ktown and my best buddy Danee44 has dropped some caches here! So excited to find the Ktown series, her first hides! She introduced me to the geochaching world, best gift anyone can give hey? Smallest caches i have ever found to hahaha!
Scouts decided to use the KTown 1-6 caches as a good night out hunting.. Thanks for a great night found all but one in 1.5hrs walk. Hawks, Redbacks and Tigers signed the log
The cordinates had us in the middle of the drainage ditch - we searched a while up by the rocks but as it could have been anywhere only spent 10 minutes searching. Now as I log a DNF I note that the cache was a magnetic nano not a micro, had I known at the time I would have looked somewhere else. That will teach me to read more than just the first paragraph of the description.
Me strolling continued to another typical K-Towne location
A wide nature strip, doubling as a drainage channel behind the fences.
GZ does appear to be in the ditch
But there is something very attractive,
especially to magnets,
nearby
You cannot exactly hide a cache on this structure,
so this cache uses the smaller is better method to stay un-noticed [^]
I noticed it
But that is because I was looking for it !!

Second attempt straight to it, didn't even need to turn the GPS on, thanks
No luck, GPS had me in the middle of dirt where there is nothing magnetic
