Thanks for keeping the caches here a little longer for us. First one for the day

What an amazing day! We wanted to get 100+ done in a day. We've had to cancel twice due to horrible rainy weather. Today was freezing initially but ended up bright and sunny. A great trail of caches. Thanks to the cache owners for keeping it open for us for an extra week or so after we asked. A location we wouldn't otherwise have gone to. We went with Flaggys. The kids took turns most of the way racing each other to the caches. It was very funny watching them.

This weekend dehands and I aimed to complete the G2A series, Thelman and Louise style! It's taken some time to organise a weekend where we were both free, so having a Queen in need of a birthday holiday has been perfect! Loved this series, ans there's nothing better than a string of smilies. Thanks to all involved in setting it up.

Find No. 2196. Found at 3.55pm

Down in Anglesea/Torquay area for the Long Weekend to take Geodog Penny back to the beach, finish off the G2Anglesea trail and grab a few others along the way.

After completing section #24 to #42, we are now on the last leg of the trail doing #23 to #1 (going backwards). The section is on a quieter road than the others so therefore Geodog Penny could get out of the van and have a walk around at most of them, which she loves doing.

Found, signed log and onto the next one we went.

Well life is really busy this past few month and TrailStevo and I who normally cache 10-12 times a month found ourselves on our second only outing this month. We headed out earlier than usual Sunday adventure as we were going to be exploring 2 hours from home. Ariive at GZ no.1 at 16.10 and proceeded to follow the trail south. We know if we get on a good run on trails like this 25 cache/hr is achievable and we were well on target after the first hour. After reaching the T junction we continued on south where we intended to cache our way to dinner in Anglesea. Picked up a prior solved puzzle on the way through and the Chocolataire multicache, wasn’t open unfortunately . We continued on the Anglesea (now 7pm) where the Charcoal Chicken place was just about to close, but luck us they mad us a Snitzel Burger and Chips and gravy which was much needed because I was starving!
Smashed the food down and headed back to the T junction for our home straight 30-40 cache heading east and home. Did get stopped by one local on this stretch as we were looking for the letterbox cache. They were not impressed with the Geocachers loitering in the area. We said we understood her concerns, then proceeded to continue geocaching….oops! Was a fun evening out, and thanks to all the CO’s for the massive effort in hiding and maintain this series. Found 100 cache in the end and finished up at 9.45pm for the drive. Thanks for getting us out of the house.

Road trip. Saw this series and decided to pick up as many as I could with Gunks. Managed to stay dryish and enjoyed a food break at Anglesea. TFTC.

The plan to do the G2A trail had been vaguely on the horizon since GemmaSistema & I had found a handful during Mega weekend 18 months ago. With news of it disappearing soon, we fast tracked our plans. After quite a few scheduling conflicts, I never thought it was going to happen but at the last minute we managed to free up this day, threw in a Wozzle and Perpetually Lost and off we went! After a dreadful drive from home to meet the others in Ballarat, I was glad to relinquish my driver status to passenger.
Signing our names was of course going to take too long so we used an acronym PBWG affectionately referred to during the day as Peanut Butter With Gelly so that we didn't forget the order (I may have read far too many American junior books as a child)...
The rain stayed away, the chocolate shop provided a yummy ice cream lunch (not sure if that was intentional or not) and we managed to easily complete our goal of 100 in a day for a previously signed challenge cache.
We nabbed quite a few extras as well. As I had found a few previously, 108 was my number from a total 116 caches visited.
A great day spent with friends grabbing a variety of cache types, a quick beach visit, lots of laughs and a lot more yellow on our maps.
Thanks to all who contributed. Smile

17-May-18
On a mission with GemmaSistema, Becca85 and Perpetuallylost to get at least 100 caches in a day to count towards a challenge cache we decided to hit up this series when we heard of its impending demise. Thanks to all teams for the effort put into this series, we had a ball.

17-May-18
I had spent Easter holidays at Angelsea this year but as the wife and daughter lean more towards the muggle side of the ledger I hadn't worried too much about doing this series at that time. But when that news came out that it was time to archive this series I thought my chance to find any of them had gone. Later on the FB pages GemmaSistema and Becca85 were conversing how they would love to do it before they were shut down. They also wanted Wozzle68 to join in the fun too. I asked them that if they decided to do it I would love to join in.
So plans were made early this week to meet up and have a crack at 100 caches for the day with these and other caches we may happen to drive near. So today was the day we decided to find as many as we could. With Wozzle driving, Bec navigating and Gemma and myself running we were ready to go. The other thing was how can we sign the logs quickly to keep us moving along. So we put our initials together and Becca85 says "Peanut Butter With Gelly" so our team name is PBWG!
It was a great day, lots of laughs and stories, we only had one DNF which wasn't part of this series, a visit to the beach with an EC, and ice cream at the chocolate shop for lunch! Personally I smashed out a new daily cache record with about 115 caches for the day.
Thx to everyone involved with this series. A great day had by us all!

17-May-18
A big day of caching was planned today to chase down and find the caches in the Geelong 2 Anglesea trail. We also managed to find a few extras along the way! The team consisted of PerpetuallyLost, becca85, wozzle68 and GemmaSistema (Peanut Butter With Gelly is how we signed the log - or PBWG)! We had a fab time. Some great laughs and chatter along the way and some neat hides and great views. Thanks so much for all your efforts in placing these caches for us to find and enjoy.

This is the last of the series for me. This was the first of this type of hide in the whole series! In fact it’s been great there haven’t been any in Armour guards or other commonly used places. To those who contributed caches and helped them maintain them I salute your contributions to Geocaching in this area. They’ve certainly attracted us and others geocachers to the area and learn about the Western District. Thanks for the whole series.

Found It.......This series has been on our radar for far too long as we where unable to attend the Mega in Anglesea we just put it on the back burner but with the notice of it being archived we decided to make an assault on it while we where on holidays. So with the jobs around the house getting completed (slowly) we decided to head down here to make a start. After breakfast with the GPS loaded we set off in the howling wind and driving rain to the start where the weather lifted a bit for us (still blowing a gale but no rain) and we set off collecting caches as we drove the quiet back roads. A massive thanks to everyone who put this trail together as it would have been quite a task as well as hosting the Mega as well we will be giving a Fav point at the beginning and at the end of the trail sorry about the cut and paste

Saw the news the other day that this series was going be removed shortly so I thought I’d better get out and get as many done as I could before they disappeared.

After attending the great little Australia day event in Lara with captroverman, we started to head back to Anglesea to drop me off back at the Surfmoot camp. Along the way back I was told that we had to go and do a maintenance run on some of this power trail, with a couple finds for me along the way woohoo. Funnily enough most of the supposed missing caches turned out to be there woohoo again. Either way it was a nice drive and detour on the way back. I had a great time caching and cannot wait to be in the area again.

Set out alone today in a bid to get some quick numbers and this was the ideal series. The weather was horrendous with gale force winds but I was able to safely negotiate most of the attempted caches with a smiley face. The caches were in great condition, well hidden with co-ords spot on. What else could you ask for?
Thanks to Geocaching.Geelong for creating such a great trail. Will be back for the remainder soon - on a better weather day. TFTC's.

I was out this side of town running some shopping errands all by myself and wanted to extend the peace and quiet a little bit longer. The sun had managed to come out for a few minutes between the drizzle, showers and rain so what is a girl to do but go and find some caches!

I didn't want to get caught out in the next bout of precipitation so I decided to make a start on this series - a nice empty country road and not too taxing so no more than a few minutes of searching per cache - today was about making it fast and fun and getting some fresh air.

A nice quick grab to start off with.

Thanks Geocaching.Geelong

My mum came to visit me on the way back from taking my sister back to university in Melbourne so I roped her into doing some of this power trail after having come to the conclusion that power trails are best done with someone else driving rather than having to park the car every time. It was a very successful day that culminated in some lovely ice cream near the end of the power trail. I will do more of the trail next time she is over. This was a nice quick find at the beginning of the trail. The log book is very full but I didn't have a suitable replacement with me. TFTC.

AutumnTree and I having been eyeing the Geelong to Anglesea Trail off since it was first placed - finally it looked like finding 100 caches in a day was achievable! It has just been a matter of determining an appropriate day - and today was it! AutumnCS was available and so came along as well. We found 114 and had 3 DNFs, were attacked by giant spiders and lots of spiky prickle bushes, said hello to cows, sheep, horses and alpacas, had lots of fun and now we're a bit tired.

Most logs signed as MDATAC for efficiency because we thought we would be tight on time.

Find 114 and last for the day. We're done! Hooray!

TFTC! And thank you so much for the series.

MaggieDot, AutumnCS and I came out today to complete a “100 caches in a day” challenge. This is our last cache for the day YAY. In the end we finished with 114 caches which we are very happy with. Thanks to Geocaching Geelong for this series.

04-May-17
As Autumntree and MaggieDot has mention we were on a mission a mission to do 100 in a day. Geokids organised to go with Maggiedot’s partner with their kids earlier then off to school and then after school activities. Planning for a long day.
In the end we were able to stop at the chocolate shop for lunch and also finished before night fall. Initially there was a lot of running to find the cache and lots of traffic then we slowed down and everyone seem to disappear (work time had begun). We were sure we crossed paths with other caches however the logs weren’t signed and then the one following was the postman (which we crossed paths a number of times). Also at 99 for the day (which was school pick up time) we got asked by a muggle if we were OK. A bit had not to say what we were doing, and they seemed interested (we were right out front of their house) and they said we always see people stopping and searching then going off. Lol. They will be watching you all now.
Anyway. Lots of fun had, along with the spiders, spider webs, ants, cows, sheep, horses, alpacas and of course the thing we all love (not) that prickle bush.

We had a plan this afternoon and that was to get to our 2000th find. With that in mind we needed a few quick finds before we headed to cache that we had chosen as our 2000th (GC6FBFW Area 51). So with 15 finds needed to get to 1999 Sims_family mum suggested heading down to the Anglesea trail. Great idea some simple find that the kids can also participate in Smile and some more of the trail that we have been slowly chipping away at.
Four of the Sims_family kids made some find and that kept everyone happy.

Thank you all the CO's involved with Geocaching.Geelong for providing the trail Big Grin

Out on a pleasant Saturday afternoon to do some gentle geocaching, suitable for a couple of 70 year olds. Also in our minds was coming to grips with using the new app on our Samsung tablet, because the old app has been a favourite for Carleen. I was using the Magellan eXplorist ( shame and scandal, not a Garmin ). Anyway, can't blame the equipment, we were out of practice, so it took a few minutes to find this one.

Started our maintenance run here today as the other access points to the trail were blocked to make space for the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road bike ride.
Found this one on the ground just like a previous cacher did a couple of days ago. Hope this is not a sign of somebody's "sense of humour".
Returned it to its appropriate elevation, and on we went.
