I DNF'd this one a while ago also and had also contacted the CO but he didn't respond but seeing avoyager had replaced the cache, I called in here a coupla weeks ago..... but again DNF'd!! So I contacted avoyager and she told me where she had hidden her replacement and toady, on a quick trip up to Whangarei, I stopped and searched again. Unfortunately her hiding spot had been seriously pruned up to about 2.5 Metres and her new cache was gone. So I did what she did and to assist the CO, I replaced her replacement. You are now looking for a camo'd mint tin covered with natural "camo". Yes it is in that obvious spot.
Contacted CO a while ago to see if they would do maintenance on this cache but never got any reply. Its not been found in ages so today l decided to replace with a temporary cache. Bit visible without leaves, but at least its something until CO can check it. TFTC
I contacted CO a few weeks ago to see if they would do maintenance on it otherwise l could temporarily replace it on 8/9 Sept when l pass by. Havent heard back.
Had a quick look here. The GPS was giving a very accurate GZ but no luck. I widened my search but there were no signs of anything hanging in or on the ground by the surrounding trees. Maybe someone should log a Needs Archived if the DNF's continue.
Stopped here on my way north hoping to log another minute for the 36 Degree Challenge I am slowly doing but after a while of searching, I read the previous logs......only to find 4 DNF's from solid cachers. This definitely needs looking at, CO.
Stopped & had a bit of a nosey. Could not spot anything. Need to carry on. Maybe another day..........
Mangawhai to Auckland.
Today we drove back to the city, our holiday comming to an end.
So much going on in the last couple of days so I have not been able to log this untill we arrived back in Aussie.
Thanks for placing this cache TJAY & RAPTOR

Yay,,, finally found this one . It was very elusive and I was blind the first couple of times and then the third it was missing but it is back in place and it still took me a good 10 mins to spot. All was quiet at GZ , no muggles only cars driving by so able to have good look. Thanks for replacing and finally the smiley.
On our way home from the Turangi MEGA after a great weekend doing some caches on our way home to break the journey.....this is the third time we have looked for this....we just couldn't see it anywhere...hopefully we are just blind !!!! going south again soon so would love to know if we are missing it....and can look again....
What a cute little cache. I thought this might be hard to find but it was fairly easy today. We always count the number of people we can see as we go through Te Hana (excluding those at the gas station). There's never many but I scored a jackpot one day as there was a rugby game on. I'm not sure that record will be beaten for a while. TFTC
Another stop along the way as we headed north. This one blended in well despite the tree having no leaves on it. TFTC
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... On a flying visit to Northland with the intention of finding very old caches and anything else that is within short walking distance of the vehicle. The gloomy, black sky is an indication that rain is only a minute away...
This one proved to be trickier than expected. We circled, then widened our search before returning to circle some more. This one blends into its host nicely. TFTC.

The Squirrel and my plans for the weekend was to log as many old caches as possible to go towards completing another challenge. This meant a lot of kilometres driving and a bit of forward planning and plus collect as many other caches as we could. The plan was to travel to KawaKawa Bay and stay at Hemi's uncles home.
Early start Saturday morning with our goal to get to KawaKawa. Google tells me its 266 Kilometres one way, but with caching who knows how many km's it will be.
Left Rotorua after work on Friday with a stop for dinner (Cambridge Roast House). Next stop Huntly for a coffee and a chat with fellow cachers, then on to KawaKawa Bay. No caches done on this leg.
Early start Saturday morning to achieve our goal.
11.05am - Knew we had the right tree from a previous log. Colour of cache blended in nicely. SLTFTC

This is the second time that I have stopped here and looked for this one. Being winter and the tree is bare then surely it would show. But no, still quite well hidden. It was pouring with rain but I wasn't going to let it beat me this time. Persistance pays off !!!!
Bring your tweezers for this one.

(1932) On our way to the Mahurangi area to do some caching today. So nice to pick up some roadside caches along the way. It help not having leaves on the tree. TFTC
Hope this one will be not too exposed now most of the leaves have fallen off.

Travelling with rebel98 and this was our next stop. Spent a lot of time checking the various trees, but was not finding anything. Difficult to be stealthy with the Kumara seller across the road, hoping she was distracted by the men putting up a sign next to her. Just when all hope was lost, rebel calls out he has found it! I did the reaching, and then a call comes across the road "have you found it yet" seems she was onto what we were doing the whole time
Thanks for the hide, a tricky wee thing, but we got there in the end!

It was time to check on one of my caches and this one was on the way.
Cheers for the cache.

Awesome little beast. Thought the picnicers were watching too closely but they soon moved off to their Juicy van. Obviously just watching the quaint antics of the locals. Thanks for the cache
This was a tricky little cache and took a bit longer than the average caches to locate.
After completing the trip from Bombay to Dargaville and unloading the large moving truck it was time to make the return journey. Mitsimadman and I were keen to collect a few more caches on the return leg so stopped here. We parked up nice and close to GZ, made the short walk to GZ and began the search. Took a few minutes but MMM eventually spotted the goods. Time to hit the road. Cheers for the cache placement!
Cache checked and log is able to be removed easily atm. But please don't push it in to deap. Return it as u find it
The log is well and truly wedged in and even with a set of tools I could not extract it. It was a quick find and returned it to it's spot. TFTC
two days before we saw the cache but we couldn't log them because there were muggels on the playground. today it was no problem, tftc and greetings from germany.
Today I came along on my way north and I was really interested in visiting this place because of the Maori culture center and the Hangi Street food, which is even known in Germany. But sadly Tuesday is really the wrong day and so I only could pick up the cache. It's a little bit naughty but I found it.
Because I didn't had any tools with me I wasn't able to get the logbook. So I took a photo of me and the cache.
Tanks a lot for it.

Wow that was an early start, 2am left home, first cache at 4.50am.
Little did we know it but we could have had a sleep in as in the company of HKCB we were meant to be going Kite surfing today, but the place at Omaha double booked us then we had other plans for the rest of the weekend which meant a refund, a bugger but never mnd we did manage some great caches as I work my way torads my goal of collecting caches for the Challenge elective of the DGSc Challenge (stupid evil challenge, I now understand why no-one has ever done this elective previously).
But anyhow, after a long drive and not enough caffine we were ready for a couple of caches.
This was a quick stop on the way to our first objective of the weekend. Great travelling these back roads when they are clear of traffic and any traffic you do see from a long way off.
Our collective thanks must go out to all the cache owners who made this trip possible as we also managed to get quite a number of water based kayak caches along the way, but left enough for next time. We covered from the Managwai Heads to Mahurangi/Waiwera area in the south on the saturday, followed by a trip across Auckland on the sunday
We started by looking high but after lowering our expectations got their in the end
Thanks for the placement

Up this way with Cats&Dragons for the weekend with the main goal of tackling some of the T5 Kayak caches around the Auckland area and a little further North. We also had the side mission to give kiteboarding a go, but unfortunately that fell through last minute, but that only meant we got more caching in. The general plan was to cache around along the East coast from Mangawhai to Mahurangi on Saturday, and a big focus on the Auckland Kayak caches in the Auckland area.
A very early morning start, even by our normal standards (2am), meant we were had a bit of time to grab a few caches before we were meant to meet up for the boarding. But even with a few set backs including a few DNF's we still had a very enjoyable day. Thanks to all the CO's for the placements.
Quick stop while passing through. Took a few minutes of searching to find this one but eventually spotted it, we had been looking a little bit high, but these things are tough to spot.

On a road trip to Auckland for the day and then back to the north and while on the road picking up a few caches. Stopped here on our way home and had a lengthy search which unfortunately yielded no cache. Either we just couldn't see it or its not there ??? We will look again when we next go past.
Went to the nursery in Te Hana and I thought there was a cache nearby. Didn't realise it was an almost brand new one though. Normally would come past on our way to Whangarei, today was unusual. Bought a few fruit trees and found a cache to boot! Thanks for the hide.
