# 9592 Back in WA for a bit from Canberra. It always feels like summer when I'm here. We'll be travelling between Perth, Albany/Denmark and Margaret River over two weeks. While it's not a geo-trip, I should still be able to grab a few.A quick find after lunch. Thanks Granett for the Traditional Cache

Day #4. My last minute WAGB adventure continues today! Road tripping again. After a night in Narrogin Im southward bound towards Albany, picking up some old caches as well as LGAs and other things along the way.Found this one straight away. The cache and log were in poor condition after having been submerged. Replaced it with a new waterproof container and new log.A big thanks goes to Granett for taking the time to add Creepy Hollow to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Wow! The fun just never stops.Have you logged your will attend for Victoria's first ever Block Party? There was a car parked a bit closer than we would have liked but with some wandering and grabbing we soon had the cache found and signed. So it was a surprise when someone from the car came and knocked on our window. First thoughtbusted. But no, they were having problems with a tyre on their boat trailer and were needing some help. Our stopping for the cache turned out to be their good luck. TFTC Granett.

WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 34 - Kojonup to William via Arthur River and Darken. After a long wet and cold night it was time to get going again. I relented and had a hot breakfast at the Kojonup bakery before starting. From there it was a bit of local caching and then the days drive. There was a fun detour to Boscabel where there was a nice hall and nothing else. Arthur River was another spot, this time on the highway where there is a lot of historical remains, but not much going on other than a road house. A bit of a surprise really. Darken was next to take in the County, but it was another very small council town. I finished the day in William but still needing several more caches, I spent the afternoon caching as well, the highlight was a nature walk just to the north. I ended the day with another great pub meal with a bit of a surprise. Tomorrow is another day near William doing trail caching for tomorrows target.Back to roadside caches for my journey to Williams, a nice quick find here. Thanks for the cache Granett47199.8 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & Geocaching NSW 2023 A#532**Albida**

We are exploring Western Australia by collecting lgas, a great way to find places we wouldn't otherwise visit. Last night we camped at a nearby hall and heading north at the moment.
Cache was easily found but it's lost its lid and could do with some maintenance, I didn't gave a spare with me sorry. Tftc

After a very enjoyable few days down in Albany, today was the day to drive home (and avoid the post-long weekend busy roads tomorrow Wink As always, I popped a few caches in the GPS to pick up along the way - including this one Smile All quiet here today. Parked up close to GZ and wondered if the cache was ok - all I could see were large piles of building rubble and materials. Fortunately, they are encircling GZ, but not covering it... so after trusting the coords and walking over, the cache was a very quick find Smile No problems here today - TFTC

Today TaurusSix and I are having an early start to get away for the weekend, exploring and geocaching. Our aim is to head down to the Stirling Ranges checking out the wildflowers and doing some short walks and of course along the way we will collect as many geocaches as practical. Making our way there via Collie, Darkan, Arthur River then down Albany Highway until turning off at Cranbrook. As we were getting ready last night for our early start today we noted a new cache had come out just up the road in Bunbury and as tempted as we were to go get it we decided to leave it until this morning and start the day on a roll with hopefully a FTF, which we are happy to say we achieved. The drive this morning is very peaceful and beautiful with the clouds in the sky adding to the excellent sunrise. We wanted to get a few kilometres under our belt before we started our geocaching stops.

This is our eleventh cache find of the day along with an Adventure Lab. There was a person with their dog near gz so we were about to give up on finding this cache, but just as we were about to leave they left, which was handy. TFTC granett

One of our targets for this trip to Western Australia was to attempt some challenges, in particular The Great Southern Challenge, The Great Southern Challenge II and The Regional Cacher Challenge III. Today we focussed on visiting as many LGAs as we could in a day and to find at least once cache in each of them. We were fortunate to visit 7 LGAs and find more than one cache in each of them.

Reasonably accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition despite all the horse poo in the immediate vicinity of GZ. Thanks Granett for the cache.

Our WA road trip begins today with an early start from Perth and making our way south to Albany. Our aim was to find at least one cache from each LGA we passed through - and we were able achieve this with just one DNA - we thought a swarm of bees around GZ wasn't worth a smilie!! Thank you to all the COs that placed and maintain caches along this highway - it certainly enhanced our trip!

Cache found in good condition had to make a decision about where to next Arthur River or Katanning as I needed fuel

I took the chance to visit my husband who was working in Wagin. This meant a new area I hadn’t had the chance to explore before. Day one after a late start due to car troubles I clocked up only 6 caches on my way to Wagin and around the town of Wagin. With that area cleared apart from the infamous ‘WanAus 89 - Roaming Western Australia’ cache this one may require a bit more work and a few more holidays to get the feeder caches.
I was able to start early traveling southwest toward Beaufort river from Wagin finding finding Norring Lake then had to back track and head East to find tracks that were suitable for a Toyota Avalon before making my way to Queerarrup Lake and Kenmare hall. Places I will keep in mind if I need a nice camp site. Queerarrup Lake has brand new facilitys including toilets and electric barbies. The Lake today was peaceful and covered in dozens of black swans. Onwards to Beaufort River along Robinson road. I found the two caches here in good condition. The servo is now closed so I couldn’t get fuel. It wasn’t critical as I still had quarter of a tank but I had to rule out going to Lake Towernining today. I was half way between Kojonup and Arthur River since I was there yesterday Kojonup it was. After lunch and a few caches there I headed West towards home 19 caches for the day and 7 LGAs.

22-Jul-19
Made the trip to Albany today to visit the State’s oldest cache. I targeted several others on both legs of the trip to fill boxes on my profile or count toward Challenge Caches. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining the caches.

Touring the Great Southern using Geocachiing as our guide.

We headed out today from Kojonup and did a massive loop of some 420km. We saw some great historic locations, old schools, old halls, so much information shared with us today through Geocaching. We often say WA doesnt have the history of other States but boy you did us proud today. Razz

Don’t know what i am missing here but having cached from armadale could be a bit exhausted. Cache burnout for me usually sets in at about number 10.even dug out the gps but no go. Think i was focused on finding some bricks but maybe this is cryptic?. Somewhere close to our gz a tree had recently been removed but think we might be grasping at straws. Anyway, interesting location that was well worth a stop, even if our perfect record was gone.Tftc, Granett. You certainly get around.
