Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I live full-time in our caravan travelling around NZ, visiting the places we want to visit & doing the things we want to do and fitting in a bit of Geocaching here & there we decided wed drive in the Lake Ohau area & check out some of the local, to here, caches we had decided that we wanted to bike some of the A2O Bike Trail, so we parked up at the car-park at Lake Ohau intending to ride back along the trail to the weir & lake outlet the day was sunny & the wind light, so all-in-all a perfect day for riding all the caches ended up being quick and easy finds, the logbooks were signed & caches returned as found were also pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN except photos:LN:LS this was #6,559 for us!
Found whole walking in the area. Enjoyed the lake, the walk and the cache. The thorns not as much.
What a massive rock almost completely covered by vegetation. I pulled the matagouri back so that JD could reach in uninjured. It looked like others had sign the book while bleeding .
I have found the caches at each end of this trail in the past so this afternoon I am out filling in the gaps with the hope of turning the green blots on the map into lovely yellow smiling faces. All good here - spotted a marble on the ground and then a pen - both tell-tale signs I was very close. TFTC # 20,871
Day 3 riding the Alps 2 Ocean cycle trail from Twizel to Omarama (38km) on a stunning Summers day. This was a nice quick stop to find the cache and take some photos before getting back on our bikes and heading down the trail. TFTC
We decided to walk the track rather than MTB to give our geomutts some relief on their paws, so our adventure took twice as long. Only saw one other walker. A good number of cyclists here and there. Great trail. Luckily we didn't see any producers of the sheep poo.
We parked at the start of this bit of trail
so riding to the weir and back thanks for the hide

Today cycling the alps to ocean rail trail an awesome experience. With a few caches to provide the cherry on top. TFC
Leaving Lake Ohau today and decided on a morning ride along to the weir and back. Weir had a bit of water running across it. We were not game enough to cross to get the cache on the other side. Saw one person cross with their bike we were having a break.
Missed this one on the way there so grabbed on the way back. Squeezed thru the bushes to get access to the rock.

Spotted this but needed to reach past the Matagouri! Signed then replaced with rock on top. Thanks
Day 1 of our A2O odyssey. Twizel to Omarama.
Love this area. A great track to cycle on.
Spotted the rock. Snuck through between the matagouri and passed the container out to Ms M to do the honours.

Cycling the trails so only stopping to grab a few caches on the way. TFTC!!!
Today we biked along the bottom of Lake Ohau around to the weir.
Great bike ride on a lovely day. Caches were mostly easy to find .
sorry for all the copy and paste but need to get these finds logged.
TFTC and making this ride even more interesting with caches placed often enough for a break from riding. And a chance to take some photos of some amazing views.

Ah, lovely smooth flat offroad scenic. And an obvious object. Perfect stop and grab for two getting-a-bit-weary-now bikers.
Saw some fine weather for Twizel for this week and managed to find accommodation for the time we wanted. Drove to the weir at the end of the canal and e-biked around to Lake Ohau Lodge and a bit on the next leg to Omarama.
Fossicked around a bit and then saw the telltale.
TNLN TFTC.

Found this cache on our TA thru-hike. Lake is beautiful here, but it is SO WINDY!
An enjoyable weekend enjoying the scenic McKenzie area, and finding some great caches along the way. TFTC
After two DNFs earlier this morning, it was nice to make a find on a cache again. Fortunately, I don't really care about the numbers. The caches along the A2O were a bonus -- the cycling was the main aim of our trip, and what a wonderful experience the whole ride from Alps to the coast at Oamaru was.
This was a quick find and a hurried signing of the log. The others wanted to get going and have some lunch (as did I), so not much time to dally.

Happy to found this cache on an evening walk in beautiful scenery. Thanks for the cache!
A few of these big beasts around. Along with the requisite matagouri. Thanks for the placement drawp
Continuing on the A2O trail ...the dreaded matagouri was present ...managed to sign with out too much damage to the body tftc draws
The second one on our walk along the lakeshore. The weather was really beautiful today and no one there, so we had enough time for caching !
Many thanks for hiding and greetings from Germany !

I’m definitely coming back to do more of this trail. The lake was wild today, but beautiful. Met some through walkers who were enjoying the scenery.
I met up with my brother, BaldEd, today in Omarama to do a few caches in the Waitaki Valley.
We started off on our bikes for the few newish ones around Lake Ohau.
Cheers for the cache.

Went for a bike ride with brother Tufty seeking out caches that had been placed after our initial ride a couple of years ago. Nice quick find. This was No.2 of 4. Thanks for the cache drawp.
Supporting a bike group doing the A2O. Sent them on their way and caching my way back out to the state highway. Tftc, nice to walk a tiny bit of the trail
There were plenty of rocks around here but only one obvious one - thank goodness.
+ a marble, - nothing.

found while cycling from Twizel to Lake Middleton. My arms are a bit short but I managed. Dropped off a TB.
We had forgotten the full name of the cache until we got within a few metres. Then we remembered the name as we quickly found the cache. We were so lucky with the weather today. Cool when we left Tekapo and a cool wind getting to here, but sun shining on most of the Lake and many of the mountains. Great views. As we were on foot, we turned and walked back to the car. No time to do a 7km walk at this time.
Thanks for the reason to do 1km of the walk.

Found it, forgot to take pen sorry, why don't people put tiny pencils in. #BelieveAndAchieve
In Twizel for the long weekend for a get together with friends. Time for a bit of a drive/bike around the place to find a few smileys.
Back to the A2O trail for the last caches today. #7 and last for today. Cheers
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Out on the track on a very windy afternoon. Nice quick find. This was our last one along here today as the kids had had enough. Even though we had only just started. Will have to get the other two from the other end another day. TFTC.
TFTC, a quick find once we had located the correct rock. First I led Polargirl on a big detour to a few other rocks further off the path.
We took a slight detour into the bushes while looking for this cache - this is not recommended! Lots of prickly bushes! TFTC
