Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I live full-time in our caravan travelling around NZ, visiting the places we want to visit & doing the things we want to do and fitting in a bit of Geocaching here & there we decided wed drive in the Lake Ohau area & check out some of the local, to here, caches we had decided that we wanted to bike some of the A2O Bike Trail, so we parked up at the car-park at Lake Ohau intending to ride back along the trail to the weir & lake outlet the day was sunny & the wind light, so all-in-all a perfect day for riding all the caches ended up being quick and easy finds, the logbooks were signed & caches returned as found were also pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN except photos:LN:LS this was #6,558 for us!
Very clever. Stunning spot. The tops of the Mountains just got its first big snow dump for the winter
#23606. We had a couple of muggles in the car, so were pleased to find this one was pretty much a drive-by. They went to look at the lake while we found the cache. When we joined them by the lake a group of cyclists vacated a nearby seat and we took advantage of it to have a well-earned lunch. TFTC.
This is a busy section of the A2O bike trail, especially after not seeing any cycling on the bit near Mt Cook village. I wondered if we would have to walk to GZ, so was surprised to see that we could drive very close to it. Cache was a quick find, then we went down to the lake for a closer look. There was a seat nearby at an info panel so we decided to have lunch here (delicious home made focaccia bread) while admiring the view. Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC.
We biked a bit further from this point . It was sealed road and the wind gusts were getting stronger. It started to rain more frequently. We decided to find a sheltered spot for lunch and stop.
Parked close by & walked along & thought it must be here & there it was. Co- ordinates spot on.
Took a little while to spot. The colour blended in well. Once found we wondered how wed not seen it earlier. TFTC
Camping at Lake Middleton for a couple days camping with the family (and friends). Not a lot of time for caching, just one or two where I can. Quick find here between clyclist groups. Cheers.
Another quick find. On our way out after caching around the lake are and trails. With Cupcake28. TFTC!
Day 3 riding the Alps 2 Ocean cycle trail from Twizel to Omarama (38km) on a stunning Summers day. This was a nice quick stop before getting back on our bikes and heading down the trail. TFTC
I went for a long walk and found the spot. My GPS seemed to be right on it but if this was the case it was in the middle if a prickly bush so didn't going diving in. Had a good scout around. Didn't understand the hint so no help there. Pleased others gave been successful. Good luck everyone. Thanks. SUE
Today cycling the alps to ocean rail trail an awesome experience. With a few caches to provide the cherry on top. TFC
We were heading to Mt Cook for a wee break and of course were caching throughout the area.
We had an awesome time with some brilliant weather apart from only one day where it didn't play ball. Great to see so many awesome caches throughout the area.
Visiting Lake Ohau for the day.
Mr NZRT needs a white cane. Missed the bison for the stones......

Leaving Lake Ohau today and decided on a morning ride along to the weir and back. Weir had a bit of water running across it. We were not game enough to cross to get the cache on the other side. Saw one person cross with their bike we were having a break.
This one took a bit of searching as GPS was bouncing around for a bit. Finally came close to gz and spied the cache.

Thanks

Will have to come back and do the cycle part.... looks like fun and awesome views
Today we biked along the bottom of Lake Ohau around to the weir.
Great bike ride on a lovely day. Caches were mostly easy to find .
sorry for all the copy and paste but need to get these finds logged.
TFTC and making this ride even more interesting with caches placed often enough for a break from riding. And a chance to take some photos of some amazing views.

Had to wait for the muggles to leave and the headed for where the GPS indicated 0 m to go. TFTC
There are some changes since we were last here - a Ngai Tahu history sign, a totem pole dedicated yo the prophet Te Maiharoa and heaps of elderly e-bikers. And this cache!
#280 girls weekend trip to lake Ohau and a quick course of geocaching for my friend. I had to help them with this one. TFTC
It's definitely a hataraw. Thx for previous clue Activity, helped heaps. Level 4 day 11.
Found this on our TA thru-hike. It is so windy! And dusty- we can hardly see to the other side of the lake!
An enjoyable weekend enjoying the scenic McKenzie area, and finding some great caches along the way. TFTC
The cache was easily found although it was more of a hataraw thana tsop. LOL. A lovely spot at a start/finish A20 leg. We saw the stamp for people who complete the cycleway. There is a very nice wooden picnic table dedicated to a local. It was a pity it was too early for lunch.
My original plan had been to wander along the trail finding caches one afternoon, but that didnt work out this trip. The condensed days during winter really limits time for caching when you are driving or have other plans during the short daylight hours. I hope to be back this way to find these one day. Cheers drawp for all of the caches that you have placed that I have found during my travels!
On the A2O cycletrail. Stopped for a few minutes to admire the view and find the cache before the road section up to Lake Ohau Lodge. TFTC!
Wow that's a great place to hide it. I took us a while to find it. We're like craze looking for it. Well done! Thanks
A very nice walk along the lake. This one needed a little bit of searching before we signed the logbook !
Many thanks for hiding at this beautiful place and greetings from Germany !

Had just spotted the hide, when a pleasantly talkative lady arrived to take her two dogs for a walk. Once she headed off it was a quick sign and replace before the next one arrived
We found a number of caches on this trip - thanks to all the hiders for there hides. Trying to get these all logged.
