On such a lovely evening, what better than a stroll to a library? Of course, why take the easy route when you can go the long way, via the challenge caches on Frenchman's Lane...
I couldn't pass this close to a hide and not at least take a look, so a slight detour on the creek, and there it was. Not where it should be, judging by the clue, but that was easily remedied after signing the log.
One day soon, I'll bring the mountain bike and explore the trails in Ballarat.
Thanks, BallaratGeocachers
---
Besides celebrating the first birthday of the Ballarat GeoTour, my aim today is to net exactly 31 smileys for... reasons involving shenanigans in a few days.
After the event, n0w0rries and I set off for a stroll around Buninyong to complete the Adventure Lab, collecting Posums as well as the coordinates for the bonus cache on the way.
After doubling my tally of GeoTour finds, finishing the Adventure Lab and bonus, as well as getting the last Reach the Peak souvenir of a baker's dozen, it was time to go on the hunt.

Grabbed while out for our morning walk while in town grabbing some of the Geo Tour caches. TFTC BallaratGeocachers.
I am not sure why I hadn't logged this one at the nearby event. Anyway I have no visited it twice.

Took the trail along the creek to find these 2 hides that have been teasing us on our geo map for some time now in the company of the CO.
With a stretch we were able to gain a minty smilie before continuing further along.
Thanks BallaratGeocachers for the placement.

Caching day in Ballarat for the day from Melbourne. Weather was perfect for me to come here. Easy to find. Thanks BallaratGeocachers for placing this cache
We've been wanting to do this one for years as we travel over this bridge to and from school every day. We call it the prayer bridge as a reminder to pray everyday.
Mmmm !!

And along this bit of the trail today,
this cache find came my way [^]

Found it on the last day of the year with Sunsong1, a nice warm sunny day for a quick stroll along the creek. TFTC
Nice cool shady walk on a warm day. Glad I had my tall geocaching partner with me TFTC
We are picking off odd ones from this trail. as we do not ride bikes it is a long way if you choose to walk it. SL TFTC
Jenno3 and I hit the trail for a leisurely stroll this morning. A nice easy start to the day. Tftc
Out after being house bound for over a week. Kenare came around to break me free and find some cache. With the wind in my hair....I almost froze my a.... off. So good to get out and grab a cache. Tftc
Enjoyable walk along the trail, noticed some very well organised gold prospectors trying their luck in the creek. Found the cache OK, thank you.
Due to wild weather I think this has been knocked from its perch. Message has been sent to the Cache Owner.
Found after a little while at GZ unfortunately the cache was about 6ft lower than it should have been due to what I suspect is a result of the wild weather over the weekend. TFTC
Such a nice walk along this trail - clouds are getting dark and the wind is getting strong .... better get a move on. Nice easy little hide. TFTC
Just out for a quick find today to fill a hole in my calendar. A nice easy find. Cigc. Tftc
Found. I'm glad I read the hint and took along my caching step, I don't think I would have reached the cache otherwise. TFTC
The ageing Bushfire made a bad decision to cache in Ballarat today and not check on some of his caches that may need some maintenance and then find a few green squares that need to be changed into smiley faces down on the Bellarine Peninsular.
First there was the Meredith Folk festival and hundreds were leaving and being checked by the police at numerous locations and this really slowed things down.
My next problem was the Begonia Festival in Ballarat with a huge turnout for that event.
I then made a bad decision to grab as many caches in the new cemetery and did not know that they lock the gates at 5 o’clock and you guessed it I was locked in.
It took me 30 minutes to find a way out through the bush and then finally found a way out over a fence and through a private vacant block phew I could have been in here until the following morning.
Another problem I may have is a camera car as I was trying to find my way back to the Geelong Road.
Maybe I should have stayed home.
Once on the right angle I spotted it and all good with the cache.

Moneydork and Mrs Moneydork had very kindly invited me, last November, for a caching trip to Victoria over the Australia Day weekend [:X]
A massive trip with 13 DNFS and 318 finds over 7 days and many kilometers of travel
My knees don't want to bend anymore after a massive ride on the Ballarat Skipton Rail Trail and then about 145 finds the next day while finishing the Dad's Mt. Disappointment Driving Lesson series [xx(] Seems my driving lesson was about me keeping both feet on the ground as I broke my own record by doing the autumn leaf thing 4 times in one day [xx(]
Still a fantastic trip with great sights and lots of cache finds [^]
Another pretty quick find on a nice night walk

I can't believe that we decided to attack this walking trail series and other caches in the area after such a big day of riding in the heat!
Out and about with Moneydork and Locus Cache. We stayed in the same accommodation with the idea that we would tackle some of the local caches in Ballarat including the rail trail and challenge caches. This is one of the caches we targeted.
Thanks for the cache BallaratGeocachers!

What a cool Australia Day extra long weekend! I drove from Adelaide to Victoria and did heaps of fun stuff, including:
*attending a dinner event in Inverleigh [^]
*attending an Australia Day event near St Kilda [^]
*caching around Ballarat [^]
*squealing whilst going on some 4wd tracks (inadvertently)
*hanging with the awesome Wozzle68 [:X]
*caching with Moneydork and Locus Cache [:X]
*riding on the Ballarat to Skipton Rail Trail - first time on a bike in over 20 years!!
*accidentally bike riding straight over a big black snake that was about 1.5m long [xx(]
*walking like a cowboy after all of that bike riding! haha [:o)]
*LOADS of giggles and awesome adventures!!! [^]
I LOVE geocaching!!! [:X]me

Find #1192 for me. Thanks to the hint (together with the name of the cache) this was a quick find for me today. Even though I'm not particularly tall I had no trouble retrieving this one but spent more time returning the cover that was there when I arrived as it kept falling off! I only had time for 3 in this series today but will return shortly to find the rest. Thanks for the cache and the series BallaratGeocachers!

Following the Christmas Breakfast-Ballarat Event, we enjoyed a morning bike ride to call at each of the Challenge caches and continued along the Yarrowee Creek Trail, to complete the loop back to our geo vehicle. A nice quick find, it felt as if the cache watched us approach. We left Mr Minty a little more discreetly dressed.
Our thanks to BallaratGeocachers for placing this cache.

Took a few minutes cause the cache was lying on the ground which isn't what we were looking for. Left the cache as per the hint. Thanks.
A quick and easy find as we cache our way through the area with mcsee&petal today. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
A park the car on the Bridge Street and walk to one cache on each side, so this became an easy find.
Thanks BallaratGeocachers for this placement.

Today was one of those lovely spring days where the sun was shining and there was little breeze, a perfect day to get outside. Dropped around and picked up wozzle68 as I wanted to clear up some caches where he had a few remaining Ballarat ones left...
Lovely spot for a stroll too...
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment BallaratGeocachers...

Suscoe was in Ballarat today caching with the sister.
It was a delightful day with sunshine and a mild breeze looking after us.
A long way from the snow on our last trip here.
We had a terrific time with the sister and had some laughs and enjoyable times finding caches around the town.
5th find of the day.
Thanks to the BallaratGecachers for this hide.
A quick find here and all was good with the cache.
Quiet on the trail this morning except for the bikes.

Took the geofamily out today inbetween doing some errands to quickly grab a cache to continue along with my 31 day challenge. Geodaughter left a rubber frog for animal collectors! Tftc
I parked where we had a CITO not so long ago and walked over, or rather under, to this one. Found once I stood back a bit.
A quick grab today after a walk along a pretty trail. Thanks BallaratGeocachers, great to see more caches dotting along this trail.
Found this one with geopooch and geohubby! Took some awesome photos of the red mushrooms nearby! TFTC!
Resorted to google search to be sure which one was Mr Minty and found immediately after. Doh moment although was 5m downbank looking into pinus greenus trees. TNLN TFTC
We found your cache Mr Minty - Yarrowee Creek Trail at 7:41 pm
Sitting on the couch settling in for the night when S realised we needed a cache find today to fill the 366 calendar. So I sent A out into the
Pitch black darkness to find this close to home cache. Which he found easily.
The cache is in good shape.
Thanks BallaratGeocachers for the cache!

The seventh of 9 caches along this trail that I did on my bike early this afternoon.
The strong winds this afternoon were making cycling north tricky. Paused here under the trees to find this one in the obvious spot
Thanks BallaratGeocachers

Out again on the push bike. Strong winds today, which killed me on the way out, but was grateful for on the way back.
Easy enough find. Not sure that this will be the most enduring hide.
This was find 4 of 11 finds for today, being found at 1:54:00 PM.
Thanks BallaratGeocachers for placing this cache and bringing me here.

Decided to have a little ride today. So we had to finish off the creek trail. Thank you for the caches along here
Out adding smilies on a beautiful Autumn day. TFTC. I'm still flicking off the creepy crawlies!
After the CITO event, these few caches popped up, I teamed up with David from Maccamob, thinking we were a cert for the FTF, only to discover the crowd had beaten us by a few minutes.
