Nice wander around Devonport, collecting smiley faces All good here, found a cache exactly on the coords, not sure if it was the right one or not!!Nice location, TFTC!
Seeing I don't work Fridays and ANZAC was a Thursday this year it was a good opportunity to get away and go geocaching over the extra long weekend. My Auckland Grandies had been sick so no visits to them this time but I did have dinners with my other Auckland son. I do love Devonport. With quite a few green dots out this way and no ftf needed for my dot day calendar I was excited to spend the day out here.I'd been to this Scout Hall before with Yvettetb and we hadn't found it. Today I spied the green bison poking out of the stump. Nice to avenge this dnf. I was a Girl Guide years ago and enjoyed it. Thanks for the cache
Over this way early after setting junior cacher and Mrs stik-a-crane up for a 10km run around Devonport.....luckily for them the clouds hid a lot of the sun, or I can only imagine what a 10km run in the full sun would have been.......I had thrown the e-bike in the van and decided to take a quick ride around looking for caches...as you do......Had to dodge a few muggles walking dogs, and the odd runner, but made the find in the end once I reminded myself who the CO was......TFTC.
Found on the floor and signed log book. We stuck it in a concrete pole that had broken in half. Maybe come put it back where it originally was.
Sounds like there must have been 2 caches placed here. We couldnt find the one as per the hint but the other one that once upon the time was hanging in the tree is still in place. Thats the one the last cacher found as well based on the log. TFTC
M25 / m14: was unsuccessful last time, but seeing different logs of where it was now resting, we approached GZ and saw it in plain sight. Alright then... nice and easy find, log all good and signed here. TFTC.
Red bison 9n ground found, no log paper, so replaced log. Placed as per hint.
Thanks for the hide
Thanks for the hide
I had just arrived at GZ, when two young boys came along with their bikes. They obviously knew I was geocaching and pointed to a green bison in the tree. It was really hard to see and I wondered about the low difficulty and terrain rating for a tree cache that high. It didn't fit at all. Very, very strange. One of the boys wanted to pull himself up to the branch, but the old branch came down and with it the cache... Well, that was not intended. It was kind of surreal. I signed the log and rehid the cache in the trunk under the tree.
On my way back to the car I still thought about the low rating of the cache. I read previous logs and found out the cache container was supposed to be red, rather than green... So I returned to GZ, read the hint and quickly made the find of the red bison. This time the terrain and difficulty rating fit well. What a strange situation.
Thanks for hiding and maintaining.

I saw a green bison hanging in a nightmare place but as I was working it out how to get it, I saw the red one. Good hint. Tftc
This has been the single in the middle of my map of Devonport for quite a while, so seeing as it had been replaced recently and since I'll be moving back out of Devonport very soon, I called past to look for it today. I had a good idea of where it would be but it still took a few minutes of searching before I spotted it. A few names on the log though, so maybe it was here all along??
All good here today. TFTC and thank you for maintaining it too

Felt quite exposed with the houses overlooking so gave this a quick look, but wasn’t able to locate the cache unfortunately. Perhaps if I’d been a Scout growing up I’d have been better prepared for a more thorough search.
We had been here before and didnt have any luck with this cache. Today it is starting to get dark so we wondered if we would struggle with this find once again. We spent a good while looking in the same places as last time and a few new ones too before we spotted it right where we had initiated our search.
I had DNF here before.
Spotted this time from a different angle. Didn't take a long but it wasn't a quick one....
Thanks for keeping it active

Teamwork needed to find this one. Luckily a great colour to spot! GPS around 10m out. SL TFTC
Approached from both sides, little bit of team work and we soon had the cache in hand. Found with PhilBirdBoys. Tftc.
*** Retrospectively logging finds now Lock-down has spoiled my plan for improving finds to become 10+ find days. ***
Parked nearby and headed to indicated GZ with hope. No sign of it from one angle but heading to the other end and peering revealed this little greenie just hanging out having fun. All good here, signed and replaced as found.
When I first started working over on the North Shore, initially for 3 months, then out to 6 months, I identified this target-rich environment as being what would enable me to upgrade my finds per day from single-figure find days (there were about 20 days of 5 or more). I went out over a range of dates and physically made the find, signed the log, and noted the date on my personal note. These were reserved for finds when required, or back-dated finds if not 'required'. I'd been tracking well and improved all days desired until this week when Lock-down meant the end of finding caches and thus the 5-day on 20 Aug will be missed, as will a few others coming up, I suspect.

I am in Auckland for a couple of weeks meeting and getting to know my first grandchild, Isla, who arrived a few weeks early at the beginning of February. This one took me longer to find than it should have done. When I finally got my head at the right angle I spotted the cache. TFTC, Biggles.
No need to post a hint, we found it, even though it was 8m from where the gps wanted us to look.
Searched around and up higher as per the previous log but couldn't find this one. I found something that might've been the lid of the cache, but no cache in sight.
I found this one very easily. In less than a minute. I can see why the last 6 people could not find this. Coordinates about 5 metres off. A hint would make this find more enjoyable but it is a nice hide! TFTC. Forgot to bring pen but took photo for proof of find
As I was so excited to have found it I managed to lose the thing that the cache was on so if the CO wants to come check and place back where it belongs that would be good. I placed the cache 30cm above where it should've been
This one is so difficult we could not find it can you please check that this has not been robbed.
Will check on the 11th. This cache has been difficult to find I the past and I may have to increase the difficulty if this cache is still their
Think we found were it was meant to be but cache wasn’t there.Perhaps worth a check.
All we found was a very cute white dog who was ready to play. No luck finding the cache
Very hard i searched through the messages and found one that said they hid it in natural camo I searched for 15 minutes and found nothing
Quite quick to find if you know what you are looking for
Have respect do what’s right and be positive

We looked everywhere but the right place and were just about to give up when the cache was finally spotted. Whew.
Nice placement, thanks Tjay and Raptor.

Looked at most posts near the gz even went looking for post boxes but after half an hour we must move on as were no closer to solving. Good luck next person, were sure it's here but we didn't find the correct location and the GPS seemed in one of the halls. We thought possibly the trailer was stopping us reacting it.
Was muggled by the same scout master that muggled the previous finders, he saw the gps and knew exactly what I was doing. He was going to stand and watch me make the but his colleagues convinced him to help me. He showed me where he'd seen the others put it back but neither of us could find it there
On our way to spend some time around the Devonport Area today to make some finds. Took a while to get ourselves in the right spot. The scout master was there and came out to see what we were doing. He had been a geocacher a few years ago and had no idea there was a cache here. Hope its not compromised now. SL. TFTC.
I'm sure I looked here on a previous visit, but today I was lucky and found it. I covered it with some natural camo which should also keep it from rolling away. TFTC.
Took us awhile to find it. This one was easily accessible if you’re in a wheel chair too.
Today D4nielB and me decided to take a ferry to Devonport an wander around a bit and look for some caches on our way.
We nearly gave up on this one. But maybe it helped that my English is not as good as D4nielBs - so I read the listing by mself and read something different and this helped us to find the cache.
Greetings from Hamburg, Germany.
