Poor Dino's home has been thoroughly striped of any greenage and cut back to just the trunks. We are greatful however to whomever left Dino nearby. But the area is now too exposed to leave him there. We stopped and picked him up while we were in Hokitika today and will replace him somewhere else next year.
Out for a walk this morning. Not a good start with two dnf’s.
No pillar to be seen. It made me wonder if I had the right coordinates loaded.

Mum checked this while at work yesterday and Dino had infact been dino-napped. Luckily we had a spare topper so made a new cache and added it to todays maintenance trip. We found some painted rocks directly behind GZ and believe this is why he got muggled. So we have moved him back further into the foilage. New coordinates have been added to the puzzle and new hint added. Please make sure to read him well. All good here again. Happy Caching
We were heading out to Mahinapua so stopped at Dino on our way through Hoki to make sure he was alright due to a geocacher mentioning the log was wet. All good here - a nice and dry log replaced in December and it doesnt look like it has ever been wet. Happy Caching
Long overdue caching road trip, heading to hokitika for the long weekend
Bit of night caching to finish a great day on the west coast...

Mrs B noticed I had a solved puzzle in town so we drove over to pick it up. Not too sure why I only did this one but will get the rest done for our next visit. TFTC.
Arrived last night and move on today. Saw puzzles and solved over a beer last night for a dash this morning. I signed the log and then I replaced the cache container as it was discovered.
Thanks for placing this cache

Touring NZ without Isla our geodog. Solved these quite easily and have to find. Luckily again parked close and made the find. Will not mention the weather. TFTC
#17836. Just enough energy for a drive bys before calling it a day. This one was a quick find. TFTC.
After spending the morning at Hokitika Gorge then Lake Kaniere, StreetWalkerNZ and I had a cuppa and a wee rest back at our accommodation before heading into Hokitika for lunch and more caching .
We are slowing down now, so just a few more finds to g before returning to base for the night. SW was onto this one before I even reached GZ! Lovely hydrangeas here. TFTC.

Found on a three day caching journey over to the West Coast. We really enjoyed the challenging hours spent in solving the many puzzle caches and now the signing off on the log books. We had a great spell of weather as we traveled along the many roads in the area. Many thanks to the various cache owners for placing and maintaining their caches. TFTC
Another in the series whilst close by, one more on the radar. The other stragglers can wait for another visit in the future. T F T C g7&m
First though it was time enough for me to head out for 45 minutes before breakfast and load car time and get some nearby options. There were 5 within a reasonable distance and I made finds on 4 of them. There was drizzle in the air to start the day but it burned off before midday.
Day 3 of our West Coast adventure and it's go home day. But not straight home though. Back via Brunner Mines and Runaga Falls/Coal Creek and Pancake Rocks and maybe Westport/Denniston and maybe soemwhere else. In fact as we got past Charleston it was straight along the Buller gorge and back that way which was just as well otherwise there would have been a whole lot of extra kms, there were enough already.
A weekend away has been discussed for a while now, and me and mrs c both had the Monday off so a 3 day trip over to West Coast was the plan. We were fully hopeful of getting down to see the glaciers at Fox and Franz Joseph and were staying in Hokitika for a couple of nights. Plenty of kms driven and a few caches found, incl a virtual and 5 Earthcaches. Good weather all round, no sandfly bites (I know!!) and plenty of awesome sites and sights.

Off to the deep South for the week and we stopped on the way passed to check on this one.
We couldn't find Dino either so good thing we brought a replacement just incase.
All good here. Happy Caching [:) ]

The puzzle was straightforward but we failed to find the cache. We found something which could be interpreted as the hint object, although not vertical as we expected. It had a rock behind it, but no cache.
NLBokkie and I are going on holiday to New Zealand for 3 weeks. In Auckland we rent a camper. We start on the North island and driving to the south to make the crossing to the South island. Here we make a round and then take the boat back to the North Island. A long trip, but a very beautiful one! We do and see a lot on our way............
In addition to being a tourist, we are also going to cache along the way. The virtuals and earth caches are often on tourism places. If we have a long day of traveling, we stop for some caches.
It were great weeks!
Last night we made all the flintstone puzzles so that they could be found today. Nice puzzles!

Berrydehamster and me are travelling in New Zealand for three weeks. We cross the country from north to south and back again by campervan, see a lot, do a lot, visit lots of places and meet a lot of people. It’s nice to be here and we have a great time.
As both of us are geocachers, we find a lot of caches on our travels. This is one of the caches we found. Thanks for your cache, gracie7 + Mum, that helped give us a wonderful time here.

When Nana and Aunty Grace came to visit today we asked them to take us caching.
We got to navigate, find and sign all the caches all by ourselves.
Cyndel got to find this one because Lucas had already been here with Aunty Grace. We both got to put beadtails in. TFTC

The 3rd of our geocache day. Nice mystery cache! Thank you very much. Still close to the pole.
I have had all these puzzles solved for some time. I am staying overnight in Hokitika and found this cache on an evening walk. Quite a cute little chap. Signed log, TFTC.
Family (In Laws plus Sister & Brother In Law plus their kids!) holiday on the West coast (Hokitika and Westport). After a trip out to Lake Kaniere and Hokitika gorge we quickly ducked past here before needing to head for home and help organise tea. Starting to rain quite hard now....got a bit damp but all good as I got to find and sign this cache! All quiet at gz...cheers!
From memory the name of the hint object was a bit confusing for this one. I was expecting something a bit more upright. TFTC.
On a road trip south, enjoying the day and pic up some caches. TFTC

Day 2 of a 4 day road trip. My mission on this trip was to travel South and West and then East and North. I decided to stop for the day in Hokitika, so after finding a motel to stay in, I had time to find a few more caches before turning in for the night. I solved the Flintstones puzzles before I left home. Nice! I used to love the Flintstones when I was little. I guess they'd look pretty dated now. Loved Dino! Especially in the opening / title sequences. First cache for me today. TFTC, Biggles.
Dino, how could we forget you eh? A few kids playing nearby but the GZ is nicely sheltered. Cheers
We loved this puzzle series of the Flintstones and had fun doing these before our trip to Hokitika. This was the first one in the series that we found. We only found five today but did find the Bonus one next day. Signed the log. Thanks very much for the fun and entertainment of this cache gracie7 + Mum

On the way around the world, together with my boy friend Hloust, son Jonas_999 and our friend Standarevnice, we found this cache. I like to make a puzzle, so I was happy to make this series and we started with the taste. The others were added and together we got the coordinates of all the boxes. We found the first when it was dark, a bit away from the glowing worms. We logged the others at night. Even in the dark, the finds were quick. Thank you for the cache and I greet the greetings from the Czech Republic.
A new Dino has been found (though not like the others) and the cache is now back where it belongs.
Happy Caching

We came to check on this cache while in Hokitika this afternoon and discovered it is indeed missing [;(]
Were disabling for the time being until we decided if we will Archive or replace it.
Unfortunately we dont have another Dino so any replacement would be just a plain cache.

Final of the series. Thank you for showing me around Hokitika! I had an amazing time exploring for a few hours and visited many spots I would have missed otherwise. TFTC!
Happy Birthday Liz. JDScout and I are off on a wee mini break to the West Coast. We stayed at Hokitika. It's time to head home.

many happy hours spent doing these puzzles
Many thanks to all the COs who helped make our geocaching holiday a great success
We left home early April and returned 21 May 2018. We toured from our home base up to a wedding in North Taranaki then carried on heading south right down through wellington and on down the west coast and back up via the eastern side of the alps some times going around in circles. Our aim was to get as many smiley faces on the puzzle caches that we had solved but of course stopping for many traditionals, multies and others as we went. some time we biked the bike trails or walked but mostly by campervan. we enjoyed the quite back country roads, many of them were metal but we just travelled along slowly going from cache to cache. Most caches were in good condition and I will remark if we thought it needs maintence etc.

Today was a day spent in and around Hokitika, with the weather mostly overcast, and only a wee bit of rain later in the day. Had a great time on some walks, and finding some puzzles and multis.
Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches. Cheers.

We came from the south to Hokitika. It was raining so we spent the afternoon in the library to organise a few things and to solve this puzzle cache series.
In the late evening the weather cleared up so we could collect them all.
Dino was a quick find as well. We parked almost at GZ and found him quickly.
Thanks for showing! Tftc

I'ive started my beautiful trip of the South Island in Christchurch, I've visited many beautiful locations. I've travelled via Lake Tapeko, from Dunedin to the most southern part of Bluff. I've then continued with a cruise in Milford Sound and then back to Queenstown.
From there on I've visited Wanaka and the Haast pass to the Franz Josef glacier. I went all the way up to the Abel Tasman NP. Richmond und Nelson as the sonnierst cities were on my list as well.
I've soon reached the east coast in Picton and Blenheim.
After a couple of days, I've then travelled back to Christchurch via Kaikoura.
I've spent a couple of days in Christchurch and it's surroundings.
I've visited many geological sites and have found many caches along the way.
I've travelled 3500km and have experienced so much.
Thank you to all the owners

Dino survived the cyclone overnight, now blue sky again! Thanks for all the jigsaws!
After having a bit of a rest after our big bike ride (for me at least) this morning I jumped into BaldEd's cachemobile and we travelled to Bedrock (Hokitika) to locate and sign off some solved puzzles about some of the residents there with the odd multi, trad and extra puzzle thrown in the mix.
Cheers fir the cache.
Cheers fir the cache.
After this morning's cyclocache riding Tufty and I decided to take it a little easier this afternoon by visiting Hokitika for a little puzzle and multicache singing off. Solved this puzzle some time ago. Nice quick sign off this afternoon, but interesting to note that the pillars have fallen.. Log was a little damp. Thanks for the cache gracie7 + Mum.
Enjoyed solving this we series ....after traveling to GZ Dino was quickly found all in great condition thanks Gracie7 & Mum well done
About is the wheels got wobbly as we hadn't had lunch (1.30 pm) and the gas cooker refused to ignite. After sorting that out (it seems that we had been sold more air than butane) we ended up parking close to this cache for lunch. All ok here ( a bit damp inside but lovable). Thanks for the placement Gracie7 +Mum
I'm from Norway, escaping the cold winter and travelling around New Zealand for 7 weeks, using geocaching as my tourguide. Today I drove from Franz Josef Glacier to Nelson.
I didn't really have the time to start solving puzzles on this drive, but I got very tempted when I saw this series on the map. I love jigsaw-puzzles, and this serie must be the best I've found so far. Such a great originality, with puzzle-photos of the same container you're about to pick up later. I really loved it. So, I found a Free Wifispot from Spark and started solving these puzzles on my phone. It took me almost an hour to solve all the puzzles, and another hour to find the caches afterwards. Thank you for this brilliant serie!! I'm adding a favouritepoint to the one I liked the most.

On the afternoon of day 8 of my travel though NZ I had no "group program". So I discovered Hokitiki by myself by riding the bike and looking for some caches...

Had to make one of 'those' cell phone calls while we waited for the muggle to leave - then a quick find was made. TFTP
I dropped by to pick up this cache on the way to town for lunch after visiting the gorge. I was thinking of another sort of pillar, but found the cache fairly easily anyway. Third and the last I would find the Flintstone series. TFTC!
Because we were driving lots of miles today I needed to get on my feet in the evening today, which turned a out to be very chilling in this nice town on the beautiful coastline.
All the riddles incl. the bonus I solved at home in Germany, so my town-walk could begin right after we arrived at our lovely airbnb.
I managed to sign all logs, thanks so much gracie7&mum.
Well done! With regards from Germany.

T-Tech and I are travelling around South Island for 6 weeks
We stayed last night at Hokitika, and it sure was a tough night’s sleep. We seemed to be in a fierce storm, with heavy rain, and the wind blowing a gale, so the campervan was buffeted all night Today we decided to have a leisurely morning gathering the 7 Flintstones puzzles I had solved a few days ago.
All the caches in the series came to hand easily, and I was glad to see the appropriate figurines on each container. TFTC, gracie7 + Mum.

Over from Brisbane for a number of weeks "motorhoming" around the South Island with IolantheK [^]
Now on our way from Haast to North for a bit sticking to the coast, grabbing caches between views
Spent the night being buffeted by high winds before starting out to grab the Flintstone puzzles [^]
All were nice easy finds in just the right spots [^]

Day 4 Hokitiki - Lake Paringa
We ventured back into Hokitiki to find a couple more caches before heading into the glacier area.
Raining most of the morning so picked up a few where we didn't have to venture to far from the camper. A great drive down the coast, many good caches in wonderful locations.

New Zealand ... a dream for every traveling [8)]
A little more than 20 years ago I've been here, but since then much has changed and that's also good! Now I'm back here ... 1 week North Island and 2 weeks South Island ... cool [^] Of course, I want to visit a few caches. Especially dissolved puzzle caches, which I find particularly attractive Best thanks to all the owners !! Greetings from the Swiss "Kiwi"
Coole Dosen, selten gesehen in Neuseeland! Super

Die Flintstone Serie wie viele andere in der Gegend gelöst aber nur bei einigen wenigen vorbei gekommen. Coole Dosen, selten gesehen in Neuseeland! Super
Besten Dank für den Mystery,
Last night was one of those nights when I couldn't drop off to sleep, so I quietly solved puzzles until I relaxed. Fortunately they weren't complicated, so there was no frustration to keep me alert.
This morning we decided to find these puzzles before heading to see the glaciers. This was the second one we found.
Today is the fourth day micaparamedic and I were in New Zealand toward the end of an almost three month adventure. He arrived at my place in Washington State toward the end of July. From there we found some old caches in Oregon and then headed up north to The Yukon and Northwest Territories in Canada for a few weeks.
We then attended the mega APE event in Washington, followed immediately by camping in Oregon a few days to see the total solar eclipse. After a few day trips close to home, we headed to Australia for almost a month doing many things on my bucket list such as walking around Uluru and seeing the Sydney Harbour. Now we're spending a time in New Zealand before once again going our separate ways. What a trip!
Today we are on the west coast enjoying some partly sunny weather. The tops of the mountains were at times hidden by clouds, but that didn't spoil our enjoyment as we traveled.
Thanks for bringing back memories of dinosaurs.

Spent the night nearby and ohjoy! had difficulty sleeping, so she solved the Flintstone series puzzles. After packing up this morning we headed out for a spot of caching. Thanks for the adventure.

The Seagnoid, Zara Toby and I are off for an expedition to the West Coast for a long weekend. Left Zara with her friend Total Span. With Ross behind us we are back to explore Hokitika.
Thanks to The Seagnoid for his puzzle solving abilities and G7 & Mum for the extra effort for this puzzle.
Great little park with an extra bonus of a cache to snag and tag. Cheers

Day two of a three-day geocaching extravaganza with Taybeedragon.
The dragon and I are not that keen on urban caches (although I do have a Pokemon attitude to caching - gotta get them all!) but she was surprisingly interested in the Flinstone series, probably more for my sake, knowing I like puzzles.
Nice little park, well hidden from the young muggles taking their wheels for a spin yonder.

2nd day of my ill-advised West Coast road trip - Spring is not the most reliable season, weather-wise on the Coast. Torrential rain and even a nearby tornado overnight!
I had solved these Flintstone puzzles before I came over, so was pleased to find some of them.
Thanks for this, the other puzzles in this series and for your caches both here and in Canterbury - your efforts are so much appreciated !

Continued our wandering picking up caches as we headed about picking up the mystery series. TFTC
Had a nice wander around Hokitika picking up these mystery caches in the winter sunshine Thanks for the series
Loved this puzzle series, but I don't think I can finish it with the tour I'm on. May have time tomorrow to get a few more.
