We’ll it appears this tennis club and the surroundings have well and truly disappeared since my last visit. Time to put this to rest for good.
Well, there are Tennis Clubs and Tennis Clubs. But then there's this one...... It's gone, gone, gone, and I think it took the cache with it cheers
Aaarrgh! Having worked out that my assumption on the first two visits was incredibly wrong, I then had two more visits that were fruitless (although with a much better assumption).
Visit five and... I see it! Sadly it seems to have been moved. I can't see any way to get to it without scaling the fence or cutting through a padlocked gate.
Messaged the CO who confirmed it *should* be accessible from outside the fence. They'll check on it when they can (& I'll probably make a special trip out when it's back where it should be )

The approach matters. I had a quick look a few weeks ago without spotting anything and assumed I might need a ladder. Today I had success, and without bringing a ladder!
Cache can be seen but not accessed due to fence. Sadly will not be able to be retrieved unless a member
So. Another attempt, still no joy.
Having read through a lot more old logs I now see my original thought (at the spot the GPSr points) is wrong. Far too high, and apparently GZ is >10m from there.
I widened my search, spotted somewhere more in keeping with the T rating & hint, and found... nothing. I even got on my hands & knees & got daughter to stand on my back for a look. Nope.
Either I need to widen my search even further or it's AWOL again. Knowing my luck it's the former.

I keep forgetting that even at 6' tall I'm just not tall enough!
At least this time I saw something that confirms my suspicions. Sadly I was in a loaner car from the mechanic so had very little caching gear with me.
One of these days I'll come better prepared!

We came to look for this one yesterday. We could see it but as there were tennis lessons in progress there was no way we could retrieve it without compromising it. Back in the area for the Labs this evening so we decided to have another go. No one in sight so managed to extract it - only problem it landed on the wrong side of a fence. Solved that problem ok but putting it back was trickier than expected. Luckily we had an additional piece of equipment in the car from an earlier cache and it did the trick beautifully. Pleased to tick this one off today thanks TheCachoKidsKald. TFTC # 15,358
Out caching with Isis58, it was good to turn this one into a smilie and to be able to return it without too much drama. Thanks .
Out on a 45km MTB ride when I decided to turn it into a cyclocache ride. After exiting the Rakahuri MTB track from Waikuku Beach to Rangiora I decided to check out GZ for any activity. Wow, surprise surprise. No one playing tennis today! And on looking at the obvious hidey spot I could see that a cache was present this time - it was AWOL last time I was here. It was a little disconcerting that the hide is in full view of a security camera - I wonder who watches the camera/tapes? I used my bike as a tool. Glad to get this unfound off my unfound cache list now.
Pretty obvious hide, not quite sure whether this cache will last. Tried to replace as good as possible, but this is really pretty high. TFTC
I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
Looking like this one might have gone missing when the place got upgraded. I'll try to get it back up and running soon.
Spent some time here looking and sure we were in the right place. Alas nothing to be found here. Only saw after that others not found either.
Called in on a reccie for the cache that I need to find tomorrow. Checked the one likely hiding spot up high using the high climb device I had and found the spot bare. Blast, i'll have to go find my cache elsewhere tomorrow. I'll put this cache on watch, so I'll know when maintenance has been done.

A day in Christchurch focusing on cache maintenance plus a few specific caches with D/T ratings I needed for some personal challenges. Also revenged a couple of previous DNFs or DNAs including this one.
I was expecting this to be muggle central, being a lovely sunny Sunday afternoon, but it was muggle free, so I was free to search unimpeded. Initially I was looking in the wrong places, but then I checked out an interesting spot and there was the cache. Retrieved, signed and replaced with a bit of a stretch. TFTC.

We spent some time checking up and down the fence line and trees close by without success. That building keeps pulling me back. But whats this on the ground - yep thats it - but where should it be - yep up there. I ended up scrambling up The Seagnoid to tuck it back in place. Cheers
Its Thursday - day two - Rangiora - Lyttleton today. K2R cycle is in the bag. So lets go exploring in Toby and see where the Geotrail takes us today.
Its Waitangi Day - day one of a five day weekend exploring the amazing Canterbury, with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby, Jack and Jill. Two days Rangiora, a day in Lyttleton and 2 days in Banks Peninsula. I got call from The Seagnoid, hes taking a long weekend. Lets go to the West Coast! Lets Go!! but maybe not the West Coast - rain on the way. So lets go to Canterbury. We leave for Christchurch Tuesday evening after picking up The Seagnoid after work. We make camp for the night at Amberly. Today its off to Rangiora for a cycle trip.

Well, this was a bit of a challenge. and then after 20 minutes or more, Taybeedragon went walking. She found the cache 14m away from GZ lying on the ground. But then we realised that 14m away was where it is supposed to be (thus fails to qualify for a fav , oh well). The dragon climbed an improptu ladder (me) to return the cache.
Down to Christchurch with Taybeedragon, Zara and Toby for a five day weekend starting Waitangi Day (which this year fell on a Wednesday. I reckon half the country would have been taking 5 day weekends!). Three days in Rangiora. We did two cycle trails there - having two vehicles makes it so easy. One of those cycle trails was fifty caches. Fifty caches in one day on a bicycle! Then a couple of days exploring the back roads around Akaroa. Darn close to two hundred caches in all. Dropped off a lot of path tags along the way, especially if the cache was nice and dry.

I was in Rangiora today to see our mechanic (WoF time) so went for a walk to find a few caches while I waited. Autotech to the show grounds, west a bit, backtrack to a spot I'd been, then back into town. Jandals not the best footwear, especially after the bee sting in the toe!
This was more a Did Not Attempt than Did Not Find.
If it's where I think it is I have to say I'm tall, but not *that* tall! I also wasn't going to climb there in jandals or bare feet (especially as the bee sting was still tender).
I'll come back better prepared.

I have done some reconnaissance earlier this year, and came with reinforcements today. I think even being really tall does not do the trick, and I would recommend a tool even if just a couple of steps to avoid further damage to the fence, which is starting to show signs of wear and tear around gz. TFTC!
Found it this time after a failed attempt a little while back which appear to have forgotten to log. I came back today with a bit more of plan. Before long I had the cache in hand. There has been a new section of fence added since my last visit, and I managed to drop the cache on the other side of it... bugger... eventually returned to where it should be. Happy to tick this one off. GLB1721 TFTC (4094)
We had to come back to replace treasures so we placed it back where it should be.
The cache is not hidden as intended as needs to be moved back. We found it on the ground.
Lovely cache thank you. Gorgeous weather for a walk with a boy whose not been well enough for school this week. We took a treasure, we will pop one back, leaving the cache with 3 treasures.
Noone around today so could get it after spotting it the last time I was up but too many people around to get
Stopped for a coffee in rangiora and decided to hunt for a couple of caches. No one around on a rainy day so didn't take long to find.
Came for this once before, but there were tennis players using the place so although we wandered around a bit- couldn't really zero in on anywhere. Realized afterwards where it would be- and today we came and there was nobody around. AND we brought a more agile cacher with us!! Glad to tick this one off. tftc
Today Injeanious and I started early and left home at 7am aiming to complete our biggest geocaching day ever. We started in Templeton before heading to Thompson Track and Rangiora. Altogether we found 126 caches in 14 hours. We had maybe 3 DNFs all day so felt very successful, although very tired.
Thanks to all the cache owners for helping us with our great day!
Sorry for the cut and paste logs but there were too many caches to log individually.
We signed our logs as JeJe to save time and space.
I hope the security camera didn't see us grab this one!

Jess.daphne and I decided to beat our personal best caching day of 51 finds and try to get 120. We did better than that coming home with 127 finds! We started our mission at 7 am heading to Thompson's Track, then we went up to Rangiora before getting home just before 9 pm. An epic day. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining the caches. We signed our logs as JeJe (and JeJeBu when The Burnsey joined us). Sorry for the cut and paste logs.
It was night time so there was no-one around. Perfect time really. I quickly spotted the cache and went down on one knee so JD could climb and retrieve. We were pretty giggly. There's nothing like team work. Tftc!

We thought Christmas day would be an ideal time to re-visit this cache, and we were right - the courts were deserted. As we approached, we suddenly remembered we were going to bring a piece of equipment with us to help in retrieval but luckily it proved unnecessary today as we found something else to give StreetWalker a leg up.
Good to turn this into a smiley. Well hidden cache, thanks for placing and TFTC.

#13619. After muggle issues last time we were here, all was quiet on Xmas day. Someone had thoughtfully provided something for me to stand on. I wasn't sure if it would support my weight, but it did, and I soon had cache in hand. TFTC.
We were in Rangiora today so after morning tea we walked round to the tennis courts to see if we could get the cache. We couldn't see the cache from the ground but we were pretty sure of the hiding place. There was nobody around so one of the teenagers was hoisted up to make the find. TFTC.

So, I'd just done a high Diff cache, now was time to look for the highest Terr one in town before going back to ChCh. Turned out to be this - 2,5* No tennis players at night so all was quiet in the muggle front. First the lead of GPS made me think that the cache is hanged on the fence but then I made another **speculation** about the possible location and it turned out to be correct. Just a wee pull-up and the cache in hand!
Thanks for the cache!

We spotted the cache, but there were tennis players in the adjoining court so had to be discrete. StreetWalker did a flying leap, but failed to grab the container and instead pushed it further back, both out of sight and out of reach. We will have to return at a quieter time with a "tool".
Decided to try this one in the dark and could see it in the torch light and found a tool to help as l'm not that tall. Oh no pen so a photo instead. TFTH
A lovely day for a drive to North Canterbury with Karma Reprint and Lorok. As the tall guy, a short jump and grab worked for me. Yippee, another one done. Cheers
Hmmm, I can't reach taht. AAAl could I borrow you? A quick grab for the tall one. Cheers.
Found with Kiwi Moose and Lorok on a lovely warm winters day. We'd planned a half day mission up and around Rangiora before attending the event, then work got cancelled, so we made it a full day! Sweet!
Had a great day, and found plenty to keep us busy.
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Had a great day full of geocaching with Kiwi Moose and karma reprint. On this sunny day we went around Rangiora for visiting an event and plenty of caches.
Thanks to the CO's for the hides and thanks to Kiwi Moose and karma reprint for taking me on this trip full of fun.

7390. A nice easy cache in an area we have never been before, although driven close by many times. Knew where it would be in spite of the GPS trying to direct us into the middle of the tennis courts! Couldn't see it but guessed the exact spot and soon had it in hand after a bit of exercise. Had another bit of exercise when putting it back. Iris had no show and Rodney had to make an effort. Thanks for the cache. Rodney and Iris.
Another good find on a drive/walk around the area with Just-Lookin..

Needed a find late in the evening, so dragged hubby out to Rangiora to help me find something!!
Picked this one, and good thing hubby was with! Too high even for him, but we did get there in the end! And I even discovered my secret stash of pens in the car while at it!

Today was Miss 3's birthday and she wanted to get some treasure with Daddy and this was a perfect opportunity. Dad was able to boost Miss 3 for the retrieve and replace. A cool location I didn't know about.
Yay no one about at 3pm,although there was a Muggle in her garden.Luckily she had her back to us and didn't notice us carrying the Tool we knew we would need at GZ..( How would we have explained that ) The Cache was quickly found, signed, replaced and we scarped..TFTH
When I first turned up there were some oldies playing tennis....on a tight time frame so went off and bought some lunch for a picnic with the wee dudes (who I had to head back and pick up from a play date very soon!). After buying some lunch I came back and the oldies were just finishing up and leaving. Sweet. Once they were gone I hit GZ and soon enough had cache in hand and signed. White men CAN jump. LOL. Nice one. Cheers.
Found. 3rd to find. It was a family effort for this one.

When i went looking some people playing tennis said I was too late someone had already found it. They wouldnt tell me where it was so funny, found it any way with the help of my husband cache was soon signed. Thanks.
Well that was a surprise, we don't chase the FTF, but this was one!!! So great. Actually we were preparing ourselves for the heroic effort when a tennis player enquired about our strange behaviour told him all about it and showed him where it was and low and behold he acts like a monkey and we have container in our hand. So all the gear was unnecessary . Thanks for a cache in a really nice spot.
