We are on our way back over to the West for a friends memorial service but this trip we are taking our time , enjoying the drive and picking up a few caches and taking in the scenery. We are mainly concentrating on Ad Labs, Earth caches and Virtual's as these don't give you any muggle problems. Of course there will be others in between. We took the wrong way into this one and it ended up being like a maze trying to find our way to gz.Once there we were certainly surprised by what we found and after a little bit of a search we located the container and happily added our name to the log before returning everything as it was. This looks like it used to be a fantastic area for kids to play, we wonder why it has been let go back to nature. Many thanks for the cache,
We love doing mazes, so there was no way we were going to miss this cache. Sad it's no longer a functioning maze bit the cache made up for it. Tftc
#5680 Following an incredible tour out to sea exploring and viewing wildlife from island to island we headed inland to explore some local flora starting here then heading up to Helm's Arboretum. This is a case of the bush taking over. We had a bit of trouble finding our way to the rotunda at gz, which if it wasn't for caching the rotunda could be lost forever! But the fun didn't stop there, on exiting gz Mrs BGF and a Tiger Snake startled each other, the snake rearing up and flattening its head before deciding that peace was the best option. Quite a moment! Some local fauna mixed in with the flora here today. TFTC jayameela, one we won't forget in a hurry.
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 22 - Esperance to Bremer Bay via Ravensthorpe, Hopetoun, and Jerramungup. The day started off with me realising I had scheduled too far to go in one day and have a chance to visit the spots I had selected along the way. I decided to still do the detour to Hopetoun and enjoyed the area, but did not stop for morning tea. I did the Labs in Hopetoun and Ravensthorpe, but had to skip the cave site. Then it was a long plod to Jerramungup and down to Bremer Bay where the afternoon was closing down quickly. I did get one cache just to say I've done one in the county before heading to the Brewery for the evening. I have decided to stay an extra day, so will try some more local caches tomorrow. This was a great park, lots of facilities, but no one about. I had no idea what to expect as I wandered into the plantation. I was more than surprised by the old gazebo in there. At least once I got there, the cache was found and signed. Thanks for the cache jayameela46798.1 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & May 2017 Stones of Legend Amethyst A#361**Albida**
Finally found the relatively clear way in to the remains of the gazebo. Quick find thanks. Fun cache. Tftc
Found it TFTC. Next person please bring log paper Very overgrown but can follow geo trail
A fun find here. Spider webs yes as expected at this time of year. We played a game of chess to. Would be so good if the town restored the whole park here- it is an amazing place!!
Amazing spot! Cache found with ease. Did walk through spider webs but expected for this time of year. This place was amazing- what a pity the whole park isn’t maintained. We played a game of chess too tftc
Thank you! Day 5 of a road trip to Esperance and back. Happy to make the find here.
I'm sure this place was great once, but it is very creepy now. In and out as quick as I could! Tftc.
Tftc definitely would have been an amazing maze, took awhile to find cache, but yet its so simple
Shame the maze has become amazingly neglected, but it does depend on volunteers. Likely was amazing once. The eight legged local who lives near the cache kept me company, and didn't seem amazed by my presence. TFTC jayameela.
Well, this was a very unexpected gem on our way through
TFTC and greetings from Tassie

Heading from Esperance to Albany, this cache popped up along the route. Fortunately we found the cache fairly quickly before the rain set in.
CheersVery pleased to have been taken here. Track not too bad at all this time of the year /season. Tftc - replaced zip lock bag.
Never seen a cache like this one before so took us some time to find it - found on our way to Hopetoun TFTC
After a drizzly morning it cleared but remained cool in the afternoon. The maze has been left to become overgrown so we had to push our way through the hedges to the open area within. Didn't take long to find the clever camo. Thanks jayameela
Trying to escape the bad Perth Weather, not too much joy - pretty windy. Explored Esperance and found a few caches along the way. Thanks for the hide.
Heading East from Albany towards Esperance. Took a few detours; namely hopetoun and stokes inlet.
A good days road trip finished with a few labs and caches around Esperance.
Big day tomorow so in the tent early tonight with the rain!

Thanks jayameela for placing and maintaining this cache. Out and about with Barnzy12 getting a few smily faces in the remote areas on WA.
On a neat little trip coinciding with some work requirements, so short and sweet but well worth it!
This was an added overnight stay between Albany and Kalgoorlie! Well worth it even given the severe weather warning

I didnt want to go in from reading previous logs but was not too bad - thankfully no spiders!! Would have been great in the past but maybe upkeep was too much. Found cache after short search. Tftc!!
This would have been a really great place in the past, such a pity to see it like this. Cache was not what we were expecting so it a few minutes to locate. I will award a fav just for bringing us to this great spot, TFTC!
Gaaarrrggh an abandoned spidery maze, water droplets hanging off every web and branch and leaf, an uncoordinated 3 year old with no sense of direction, and then a micro in a gazebo filled with shed spider skins. Not my favourite cache experience but certainly a memorable one. The log was wet but getting out of the maze to the car to get a fresh one, then coming all the way back in again to replace, and then out again was too much to think about. Next finder might perhaps read this first and take one in with them.
Definitely needs a bit of tlc here. Thanks for the visit. Love this guy though. Thanks
Must have been a fun place once upon a time. Took a spider stick but did not need it this morning. TFTC
Chickenhawk07 and I decided to head out for a few days and whilst it wasn’t a caching trip, we grabbed a few on the way. This was one.
Well that was a challenge. Both getting in there, then finding my way out.
Made the find, got back to
The car, and checked for spiders. Needed a web bashing stick heading in
Many thanks to jayameela for placing and maintaining A-MAZE-ING Monjinup. I was here at 10:19 am on Saturday and this is my find 9010.

I agree with previous cachers, this was once possibly a beautiful place but years of lack of support has undone years of work and effort. Very interesting place.
Sad that the place is in disrepair. It was still fun entering and finding a path. Would love to see a little TLC here. Cache easily found not in the first place. TFTC
Stopped here for the first of the day. Bashed my way in through the almost non existent maze trails. Got attacked by numerous spider webs.
I have a month off from work so a family road trip was planned covering parts of the Goldfields, Great Southern and South West.
Heading from Esperance to Bremer Bay today. Left early, heading through Ravy and Hopetoun grabbing caches along the way.
jayameela SVKR_WA is happy to have found your cache A-MAZE-ING Monjinup today at 08:32:15 7 Nov 2020. This brings my find count to 4429
jayameela - Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment. We love travelling and visiting some places that we would only visit due to this game.

Found it. TFTC Jayameela. Interesting location. For me it’s always the case, I have to just about bush bash to get there then I find a better path to get out. I actually came out the original entrance. Thanks for bringing me here
had a look on the map and noticed there was a cache around. forgot about it and accidentally found it. only problem was that there were 2 caches within 30 cm of each other. Yet only one is listed on this site. The other caches logbook said "caching containers dot com" .
worth trying to find both as they are both fairly unique.

What a nice pavillon in the middle of nowhere.
Quick find on our way to Hopetoun.

Our good morning box today on the way to Hopetoun. A box at a pavillon nowhere. Sorry that we had to destroy so many spider webs.

We are at the start of our 5week holiday travelling to the coast to enjoy the sunshine and water. Along our travels we made a few stops to explore the area and grab a few caches . Visited this location many years ago for a cache how things have changed. It’s seems this maze has been lost to the bush with no maintenance happening. It’s a shame as on our last visit this was a bit of fun. Anyway we bushed bashes to the centre of the maze and collected our find. Thanks for placing.
Found after a small search. In desperate need of a prune so this maze can be enjoyed.
We did so enjoy this park. It has something for everyone, walks, a lookout, a pet cemetary, an RSL grove and the maze and chess board. Take your own lunch though, it feel like it is in the middle of nowhere. The maze could do with a haircut.
We took a quick detour on our way from Kal to Perth via Esperance to hunt down this one. I kind of had an idea of what to expect based on the name but what we found was so much cooler. This is a cool place and a great place for a cache. We made our way to gz and the search began, 20 minutes later the search continued now with talk of raising the white flag. We actually started to walk away and turned back for one more look and this time I spotted something different in a spot I had searched numerous times. I really enjoyed this cache, loved the location, loved the simple hide that made it so difficult (I must take some credit for making it so hard lol). Thanks for bringing us here. TFTC jayameela.
Travelling home to Perth from Kalgoorlie via Esperance, we turned in to look for this one. It sounded fun and it was an amazing place for people to grab a break from the road or have a picnic. This one took quite a while and a good deal of frustration then axell33 had it! Great sneaky hide! Thanks for the cache.
Touring from Tasmania and stopped here to grab cache. Would of been a lovely maze in its day. Shame it’s not loved anymore
March flies. Not sure about hidey place but placed cache back where we found it. What a great vision this place was once
Quick find in the obvious place once the maze was negotiated. This would have been a neat place when it was established. Clearly not getting much TLC at the moment
Thanks for bringing me here though.

Hit up a couple of caches after having lunch at Yirri Grove (which I would recommend to anyone in the area). Started out at Woody Lake Reserve before belting along the South Coastal to Monjingup.
Well, this was definitely not what I was expecting. What a truly odd and very bizarre place. Just felt weird being there. So dead and very abandoned feel to it.
After a lengthy search, I eventually spotted something that looked like it had simply been chucked into the overgrown grass. I replaced it where it would look a little more apt.
Cheers jayameela for bringing me out here.

Headed out of Esperance today with ilook4geo and made a stop here. Parked close to the maze and found our way in. The area is sadly neglected and we could see that it would once have been fun and appealing. Probably the only visitors now would be the occasional geocachers, so there would be no problem with muggles.
Anyway, we arrived at the feature where GZ was, the lonely blue tongue lizard guardian went off to take a break and we had a look around. Found something out of place and had the cache in hand. Signed log and wandered off again. Toured the rest of the area, but it was disappointing to see it in this condition.
Thanks go to jayameela for placing this cache.

Going along today with goingplaces2 for some more caching. Made a find here, but was saddened by the condition of the area. TFTC.
We have been travelling since January when we left Geelong and travelled up the centre to Darwin
We crossed the border into WA in May and completed the gibb river road and cape leveque
Since Broome we have zig zagged from coast to inland and have seen and done some amazing things
We are camped in the area and we will cache and see the sights
TFTC and bringing us here
Loved the chess set

Found on day 25 of our WA Adventure. I must admit the amount of toilet paper in the area is a bit off putting.TFTC
Travelling Australia since March 2014 now we are making our way west for a visit with family.
Moving day today from Esperance to Ravensthorpe. Managed to grab this cache with the caravan on tow. Parked at the turn around and then Mr Felix walked the 250mts to GZ. Sad to see how this has been let go.

Nice easy find while grovelling through the jungle.
Pity it's all overgrown, but you can still walk around reasonably easily

Our first cache for a long distance, actually from one in Wellstead late yesterday.
Pretty sure we came out here and got a cache near the pet cemetery on our last visit to Esperance back in 2012.
The place certainly looked familiar when we drove in.
Parked near the picnic area and found our way to GZ through the long grass. It was very warm while we were here and we were on the lookout for snakes but didn't see any thankfully.
The cache took a while to find and wasn't the hide type we were expecting here.
Such a pity that the maze hasn't been maintained. Nature has certainly worked its magic in reclaiming this site.
Then we drove to the cemetery for another look. That also looked a bit run down and no where near as neat and tidy and impressive as it was on our first visit.
Thanks.

Road trip to Esperance, by passing some friends and family along the way. Have a hole week off to enjoy time away from work and all the stress. Picking up caches along the way. Tftc sl tnln.
We came to this park in it's heyday, when all it needed was time for the trees to grow to provide some shade. Today it looked tired and disheveled, so sad, hopefully it will come into its own again. Thanks for hiding a cache here.
Quickly found my way to GZ, but took a while to eventually find the "container". Unfortunately Esperance has been quite disappointing in terms of caches, and this one no exception.
Day 6 of my Adelaide to Perth drive after heading to the Red Centre Experience in Alice Springs. I stayed overnight with family in Gibson and am winding my way back through as many LGAs as I can to get back to Perth.
TFTC jayameela.
jayameela, KrabiBoy found your cache A-MAZE-ING Monjinup on 8/5/17.
