Boarding on being a bit creepy towards the nearby house owner, I couldn't find this one. Pulled out some destroyed barb wire but perhaps that was a bit dangerous.
Every time we attempted this one there was someone parked right next to it… on the 4th attempt, yay no car, alas no sign of the cache.
Wasn't sure how to get at this cache so tried to stick to the beach. Had to walk on some rocks to avoid the high tide, but that literally brought me right to the cache. Pretty quick (and lucky) find. Thanks!
Found this in between covid-19 lockdowns on a rare weekend away crafting with friends in Whitianga.... having a break from crafting a few of us decided to take a stroll around the area and picked up a few local caches along the way.
Heading back to Whitianga after an unexpected visit to Thames hospital.......
Sorry for the late logging, found with KatesNZ.....

After a bit of an adventure coming along the beach at sunrise, scrambling over rocks and walking along the retaining wall due to the tide being right in, this cache was a nice easy find.
Another easy find, log a wee bit wet as well though! Lovely beach! Making my way up getting as much as I can. Thanks!
#9690. I have been at a conference in Thames for the past 2 days. Its now Queens Birthday Monday and I have a chance to pick up a few caches around the Coromandel, especially the TMGT caches. Problem is the rain has arrived and its quite heavy at times. Overall however I managed to find quite a few caches in the gaps between the rain showers. It was interesting to hear where Buffalo Beach got its name. I was here for a holiday in the 1970s and the beach was a lovely sandy beach. Sad to see the rock retaining walls now required to stop the rising seas spilling onto the road and houses. My muggle friend made short work of finding this one once I told her the hint. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks G--2 for hiding it here.
Its back to Buffalo Beach. Lots of muggles but no one taking any notice of us. Quick snag and tag. Cheers.
Day 8 - Christmas Day - Friday 25 December - Whitianga - Its the 'There N Back' series on the radar for today, with a few stragglers around Whitianga still to scoop up.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are off on another geocaching escape over Xmas, this time to the mighty Coromandel, then over to Opotiki and stop off at Rotorua to return home on 5 January. Had an fabulous time exploring many wonders of our country. Rounding up over 400 caches along the way, with a few LABS, 20 odd TMGTs, virtuals and lots of interesting earth caches to keep the mind busy. Watching the sun come up on New Years Day at Mt Maunganui was spectacular. Lots of walking and even more driving. But had an awesome time. Thanks to all COs who made this adventure so special.

We are away for 10 days touring around and collecting caches as we go along
We came over from Coromandle to Fitty as it was raining over the other side and as we were staying at the campervan park by the canels it was time to get out on my bike and do some caching

Out exploring Coromandel during the holiday season. Got muggled by the adjacent resident who wanted to know what was so interesting about the post. Surprised that I was the first to be caught as the cache has been there for a few years. Thanks for hiding G-2
Day 5 of my week long road trip of geocaching, camping and seeing a few bands. Today I'm cruising around, seeing the sites and doing some geocaches. For the first time I am using the cachetur.no website and app to plan out my caching, and it's proving to be a handy wee tool.

Lots of muggles here, but they do not see us sneak in and sign the log. They are too busy staring at their phones, as if their phones are about to break into a song and dance routine. Or something.
Taybeedragon and I went on a tour of the Coromandel - one of the few places of New Zealand, especially of Te ika a Maui, that I have yet to explore throughly, and from there along the coast to Opotiki to see one of my many, many sisters. From 18 December to 5 January we found over 400 caches, including 12 adventure labs (60 caches), 20 or so TMGTs and a host of virtuals and earthcaches. And I hosted an event to see the sun come up on New Year's day - surprisingly popular given that it was at 5am. We climbed a lot of hills, saw some amazing beaches that were quite popular despite (or because of) the insane access to them, walk a lot of bush, entered and explored 8 gold mines and generally had an awesome time. However I am glad to be back, but now is the hard part, and I fear it will take just as long - logging!

Had to come grab this cache as I spent the first 20 years of my life on this beach! Showing the kids now 20 years later is strange but fun.
North Island Campervan trip Day 5
After the fantastic holiday I had a few months ago traveling around the South Island, making the most of one of those incredibly cheap campervan deals available at the time, I figured it was worth taking a week off work before the stresses of the usual holiday period to enjoy some of the delights to be found around the top of the North Island.
This would be a great chance for me to seek out some targeted caches such as the TMGT ones as well as some that would help me with my Jasmer grid, missing minutes (for a couple of challenge caches I'm working on) and any other caches that caught my eye.
Having spent last night in Whitianga, I was intending to head back down the Coromandel and make my way over to Tauranga by this evening. I wasn't sure how much help I was going to get from the weather, so made an early start to try to get as much caching done as possible before the rain hit!
It was still pretty early when I parked up near to GZ. I was happy to be able to find this one quickly. As I often encounter with these particular hide types is that the rubber ring has perished and there has been water ingress resulting in a very damp log. I was still able to sign it though, and the whole lot was replaced exactly as found before making my way back to the campervan to carry on my way.
Thanks for setting this cache up.

I spent the afternoon back in Whitianga clearing out a number of caches in this area. TFTC.
TFTC beautiful morning this morning first time in Whiti. Time to prove it by logging some caches.
Out and about for a few days for a bit of a road trip around the Coromandel area. Day Two of my road trip. I started my travels in Thames and ended my day in Whitianga. A very muggly spot. Had to use maximum stealth at GZ. Sat down and took in the view - and spotted the cache. Retrieved and replaced without incident. TFTC, Biggles.
Unexpected long weekend! Off to Coromandel then...After nice swim in the ocean and setting up my tent it's time to do some more hides in the area... All good here. TFTC
A quick-ish find here early this evening after getting the TMGT cache nearby. Signed log, TFTC.
Early morning stroll around our digs. Never found a bison in a buffalo before. A short search in growing light. I signed the log and then I replaced the cache container as it was discovered.

For once a straightforward G-2 hide with an honest hint!
But in such a lovely place. How many people know that Buffalo beach is named after the ship the Buffalo that foundered and was wrecked at this site?

Another quickie on the way home! We parked very close and I think we were fairly discreet!! TFTC
After I was for a short moment blind I found the cache.
What a beautiful spot.

Last cache of my morning exploits. What’s the difference between a buffalo and a bison? A bison has got a roll of waterproof paper inside it of course! Only saw the muggle in her car behind me as I left. Hope she wasn’t too suspicious about the weirdo on his bike playing with the barbed wire in the corner. Thanks for another Buffalo bison!
Found 2nd time of looking, as the batteries of my GPS died yesterday before I could find it. Better luck today. TFTC
We are tiki touring the area picking up the odd cache and the geotour caches. thanks for the placement, gave us a great reason to visit the area.
A decent long walk from our accommodation on a sunny afternoon. Hoped for orca but got a rainbow instead. Quick find on a quiet muggle free week day. Thanks for placing this cache, the view from here is lovely.
On a spur of the moment roadie to try get further with the TMGT series. I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these cache. Many Thanks for bringing me here and for the great history lessons. Cheers
Seeing that it was a nice day I decided to do a bit of caching from about midday.
I had to be aware of the bison's horns
Cheers for the cache.

Enjoying a lovely early morning beach walk and nabbed this one while passing. Beautiful sea views on such a Beauti day thx.
Sorry for the late log. Blustery sunny day in whiti today, a spot of Geocaching to enjoy the surrounds. TFTC!
Find number 5817. As I approached GZ a man and his dog came off the beach. A plastic bag was deposited in the rubbish bin then they made their way back along the beach. After signing I sat for a while and watch the day unfold a bit more. Thank you for the placement.
Found on my trip north enjoying the caches. Better weather today so need to catch up on caches that I missed yesterday because of the rain
Early morning Caching Mission to see what was up the Coromandal Peninsula, and working our way back from Whitianga down to Whangamata. This way we would leave enough caches to make the cache run worth it, hitting it from the south which would make it an easier day next time.Today I was in the company of HKCB, (logs were generally signed HKCD) and we soon set in putting the world to rights, discussed may sports and enjoyed good music, caches along with fantastic sunshine.Managed a total of 63 caches and only 3DNF's so all in all a pretty good outcome. We set out from home, departing at 3am with a long drive, and big day ahead of us. The good thing at this time is that there are very few other cars to worry about on the winding roads. We eventually made it back home by 4.30pm.
Great little parking spot, all to ourselves and the cache was quickly located.
A big thank you to all the cache owners for their diligence in maintaining these caches for the likes of us to enjoy.

Thank you. David.
Thank you. David.
I parked up under the lovely and huge tree here at this beach. it's flamin' hot today. Walked across to GZ and I thought I spotted urbangypsynz in the water! That certainly looks like her car! But I see eventually it wasn't her. Cache all good here as expected after a recent checkup by the C.O. I have been very fortunate today, most of my caches have been blank because of them either brand new or recent maintenance runs! Thanks G!
Hint took me to the correct place and hidey hole but it still took me a few minutes to locate I was not using geo eyes! date is a bit abittery.
I really enjoyed coming back to waihi after many years and seeing the changes which surprisingly were not great.
We travelled north and are holidaying in and around the Coromandel staying in motels, with friends and in our tent while getting out each day to see the sights, swim in the beautiful beaches or go for walks etc as well as locating a few geocaches, of course. We have had good weather the whole time with just a few showers at night and some wind while at Hahei.

Today we had our third day in Coromandel, thereby visiting many other locations on the east coast of the Coromandel peninsula and looking for caches, too. On this trip we searched, found and logged a lot of caches. The weather was good all day long with only partly a little bit rainy.
Almost no muggels observed us as they had other things to do than observing harmless geocachers.
Thanks to G--2 for showing us this location and for the fun we had at A Bison hides out in Buffalo Beach. (Coromandel). The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

School holiday trip to Auckland/Coromandel with the family. After a night in Auckland we came across to Hotwater beach Top10 for a couple nights. Left the family to go for a morning wander at Hot Water beach while I ducked out to Matarangi for a FTF opportunity. Heading back to Hot Water beach, lovely spot with a huge tree! A few people out and about enjoying the early morning sun. Quickly found and signed & carried on.....cheers.

#722 - In Whitianga for our annual girls weekend, this town is soo cool i love visiting. Hadnt explored much down this end, so we came for a look and to collect some caches. Beautiful spot.
Tftc! The log was very wet so we leave a photo log instead. Greetings from Sweden!
a few muggles around but they were taking more notice of fishing than me, cache found signed and returned, tftc
After sleeping in Whitianga for the night it was time to explore the area whilst leisurely making our way back to Auckland.
Lovely little spot here and cragger made short work of finding the bison.

Today we found this one which was sieged by muggles yesterday evening. It's a lovely place to do a picnic. We say TFTC and greetings from Germany.
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... Another trek into Coromandel for work purposes, and caching of course...

Found after traveling our way around the Coramandel.. interesting..no log just a piece of paper. TFTC
A few people about on this beautiful evening but we were able to make the find easily and discreetly. The original log book was wet and ripped so we have removed that as there was another piece of paper in there. Hope that's ok Glyn
