As per the last log, I found only a zip tie where the cache was most likely attached to.
Found where this one was supposed to be hidden, and the zip tie, but no container there.
I can literally see this cache from my hotel room across the road. Was a very quick find once the area was free of people. Thanks!
Cache container replaced with permission of CO. No longer at ground level to protect against future storms.
No luck here today. Not sure if it is cache blindness, a typical G-2 clever cache or if it has been washed away in the recent storms as it appears the water came up past the tree. Will try again next time we are in the area.
Coromandel day exploration with evilC. Nice pot, although quite windy. Nice hide and a quick find for us. TFTC!!
We are away for 10 days touring around and collecting caches as we go along
We came over from Coromandle to Fitty as it was raining over the other side and as we were staying at the campervan park by the canels it was time to get out on my bike and do some caching

Second time searching for this one.
Found sitting in location but not hidden so it is now in better disguise. Tftc

Not sure how the name fits here but the cache is exactly where it should be. Thanks
Day 5 of my week long road trip of geocaching, camping and seeing a few bands. Today I'm cruising around, seeing the sites and doing some geocaches. For the first time I am using the cachetur.no website and app to plan out my caching, and it's proving to be a handy wee tool.
Found safe and dry. TFTC

Day 8 - Christmas Day - Friday 25 December - Whitianga - Its the 'There N Back' series on the radar for today, with a few stragglers around Whitianga still to scoop up.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are off on another geocaching escape over Xmas, this time to the mighty Coromandel, then over to Opotiki and stop off at Rotorua to return home on 5 January. Had an fabulous time exploring many wonders of our country. Rounding up over 400 caches along the way, with a few LABS, 20 odd TMGTs, virtuals and lots of interesting earth caches to keep the mind busy. Watching the sun come up on New Years Day at Mt Maunganui was spectacular. Lots of walking and even more driving. But had an awesome time. Thanks to all COs who made this adventure so special.

OKay, I do not get this. What has the cache title got to do with anything? Was the cache once hidden at a temporary sign? At least the cache is still there!
Taybeedragon and I went on a tour of the Coromandel - one of the few places of New Zealand, especially of Te ika a Maui, that I have yet to explore throughly, and from there along the coast to Opotiki to see one of my many, many sisters. From 18 December to 5 January we found over 400 caches, including 12 adventure labs (60 caches), 20 or so TMGTs and a host of virtuals and earthcaches. And I hosted an event to see the sun come up on New Year's day - surprisingly popular given that it was at 5am. We climbed a lot of hills, saw some amazing beaches that were quite popular despite (or because of) the insane access to them, walk a lot of bush, entered and explored 8 gold mines and generally had an awesome time. However I am glad to be back, but now is the hard part, and I fear it will take just as long - logging!

North Island Campervan trip Day 5
After the fantastic holiday I had a few months ago traveling around the South Island, making the most of one of those incredibly cheap campervan deals available at the time, I figured it was worth taking a week off work before the stresses of the usual holiday period to enjoy some of the delights to be found around the top of the North Island.
This would be a great chance for me to seek out some targeted caches such as the TMGT ones as well as some that would help me with my Jasmer grid, missing minutes (for a couple of challenge caches I'm working on) and any other caches that caught my eye.
Having spent last night in Whitianga, I was intending to head back down the Coromandel and make my way over to Tauranga by this evening. I wasn't sure how much help I was going to get from the weather, so made an early start to try to get as much caching done as possible before the rain hit!
It was still pretty early when I parked up near to GZ. I was happy to be able to find this one quickly. I encountered no issues with this cache or it's log, which was signed and the whole lot replaced exactly as found before making my way back to the campervan to carry on my way.
Thanks for setting this cache up.

I was down in Auckland this weekend to help my son and his family move into their first house. I'd planned to join a group of cachers to do a one day blitz on the Coromandel TMGT caches. We left Auckland at 7. 30am and got back to their accommodation 12 hours later. Some beautiful sights were seen, fun had and interesting poses performed for a certain G-2 cache in Pauanui.
This one was a dnf for one team member last time they were here so we had to find it for her before we left the area. It was a quick find today, TFTC

A DNF avenged, the cache was missing on my last attempt a few years ago.
Out and about at the Mega that wasn't with a group of five crazy kiwi caching chicks, Ethness, Jude_E, Nosynel, GracieGPSfun and me we added Lis's crew to our team for the day. We took a trip out around the Coromandel to get the TMGT caches and collected this on the way. TFTC.

Thedbees, Lis’s Crew and I are on the ‘Mega that wasn’t’ trip in Auckland the weekend. We’re collecting the ‘Tour’ caches, plus others, plus seeing the scenery, plus having a good old time -as usual . TFTC.
Another nice grab on a lovely evening. To meander back for takeaways on the beach. TFTC!
I spent the afternoon back in Whitianga clearing out a number of caches in this area. TFTC.
Out and about for a few days for a bit of a road trip around the Coromandel area. Day Two of my road trip. I started my travels in Thames and ended my day in Whitianga. All good here. Cache found as per the hint. TFTC, Biggles.
We were staying just down the road so it would have been impolite not to look for this one. TFTC.
Found it on our evening walk on the beautiful beach!

Unexpected long weekend! Off to Coromandel then... Obvious spot here wasn't cache home. But found it without problems. TFTC
Came for an after-dinner walk along the beach-front, a very warm evening and a great sunset. A quick find here - signed log, TFTC.
Staying up the road and dropped in for a short walk to this cache. All well here for a quick find! I signed the log and then I replaced the cache container as it was discovered. Thanks for placing this cache
During a walk along the beach I also found these cache.

As we sat in the car looking at the tree, an old man – even older than me – was at the picnic bench by the tree looking as if he was packing up his rucksack. On went his sunglasses and his hat and then his sunglasses came off, and on went his reading glasses. Then another change of glasses. Perhaps he had dementia so wouldn’t know what we were doing? But we decided we needed to have a ruse, so the fake phone call came in handy as I wandered around the tree. As I went on the far side of the tree I realised he was with his grandson who was swimming in the lagoon by the tree. . I continued my fake (and deliberately loud) phone call as I fished out the cache and handed it to my partner in crime, seated by the tree. As we walked away CatNich said to me “shame he wasn’t there, perhaps he’ll phone you back later”. Who were the demented ones, I ask myself?
We initially had planned to ferry across with the bikes, but the airbed we bought yesterday leaked as bad as our old faithful which started leaking the night before. Having struggled a bit with the new airbed just from Hammer Hardware to the ferry, we decided to drive around, but brought the bikes anyway, and cycled to most of today's caches. This was as far as we went though, the rest tomorrow maybe as we need a supermarket visit.

A youth paddle boarding and his grandad watching at GZ but we miraculously managed to grab and sign cache unnoticed. TFTC
Found while departing Whitianga early today. Quickly signed sealed and returned cache to it's hidey hole. Tftc. MattyH from Tassie
Quick find after a play on the beach with the kids. Thanks for the electoral cache!
I was staying across the road at Bailey's on the Beach. It would have been rude of me not to have got this. While the kids were having a swim, I quickly grabbed the cache, signed the log & returned it to its hiding place. My 1st cache of the year and the decade . TFTC in a lovely spot
Probably not a good time to retrieve this cache as it is muggle central. People out running, biking, walking, surfing, swimming and me get a cache. Neat wee hide - all in top condition - thank you.
33 years ago I lived at 69 Buffalo Beach Road and used to love to see this pohutukawa bloom every Christmas. Lots of fond memories of Whitianga fishing and diving so it’s only fitting to make this cache our 1800th. TFTF
When we visited the beach yesterday evening, we took the chance to find this one.
Seeing that it was a nice day I decided to do a bit of caching from about midday.
I was definitel on a roll but not certain if it was the electoral roll though. But then I elected to do this cache so does that count?[:o)]
Cheers for the cache.

On a spur of the moment roadie to try get further with the TMGT series. I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these cache. Many Thanks for bringing me here and for the great history lessons. Cheers
In Whitianga for the day been to the TMGT roadshow and getting a few other caches while in town.

Out for a walk with my daughter and dog whilst in whitianga for the afternoon and found this one. Thanks
Lovely sunny day in Whitianga, had to wait around for some people to leave before finding this chance.
Found after a good search. Tougher to do in bright sunshine . Thanks for bringing here. TFTC
Sorry for the late log, we havent been caching much. found this on day 2 of our trip to Whitianga. Quick stop here. Mr nzt needs some practice after a long hiatus from Geocaching!! TFTC!
Find number 5816. Thankfully this cache was all good. (After the previous log being wet). Signed and returned and remembered that I still need to check my electoral information to make sure I can vote in the local body elections. Thank you for the placement.
After having a nice night at the camp right next to the water I started our fourth day of driving to the south island with a nice morning walk along the walkway at Buffalo Beach to pick up the two caches along the way. This was my secound find for today. It took me a moment to locate the cache at GZ. Once found it I signed the log and replaced as found. After a moment of enjoying the view I started to head back to the van to continue our journey. Tftc.
Early morning Caching Mission to see what was up the Coromandal Peninsula, and working our way back from Whitianga down to Whangamata. This way we would leave enough caches to make the cache run worth it, hitting it from the south which would make it an easier day next time.Today I was in the company of HKCB, (logs were generally signed HKCD) and we soon set in putting the world to rights, discussed may sports and enjoyed good music, caches along with fantastic sunshine.Managed a total of 63 caches and only 3DNF's so all in all a pretty good outcome. We set out from home, departing at 3am with a long drive, and big day ahead of us. The good thing at this time is that there are very few other cars to worry about on the winding roads. We eventually made it back home by 4.30pm.
only a moment or two spent here before this one was spotted
A big thank you to all the cache owners for their diligence in maintaining these caches for the likes of us to enjoy.

My first time staying in Whitianga, will definitely have to bring Mr Coblet here so we can round up your other caches, this trip was more a Mum and daughter relaxation one than a purposeful caching expedition, so I was getting a bit crazy after a while driving past places thinking I bet there's one there....! I was absolutely in my element walking along the semi deserted beach on a quiet morning, I only wish I'd seen dolphins - next time maybe. Normally Mr Coblet does the poking around for caches while I play lookout and notebook girl, so I felt pretty pleased with myself to find this one on my own, nice quick find and the cache is in good condition. I had to do a bit of gazing at the pond while waiting for some muggles to fiddle with a pram, and quickly put it back when they'd gone out of sight. Thanks again G--2.
Nice quick find.
Our first time in Whitianga and we're staying in a bach nearby. Great evening walk.

On a big mission to get a pile of caches so I can land my 7000th cache on either Mnt Ruapehu or Mnt Ngauruhoe on the 16th March! Hoping, weather permitting, that rustynz can join me for her 5000th cache as well on the same day. A bit of planning going into this I can tell ya!
Now, I think there's a pun in that cache title, not seeing anything devious or funny at the moment, can't see the cache relating to it, could be like: "That far canal cache over there", or maybe not the far canal or maybe: "What.. the far canal is over THERE?" The list goes on the possibilities are endless.. just don't say: "you can't.."

Journeyed south towards Whangamata, tauaunga roturua.
We travelled north and are holidaying in and around the Coromandel staying in motels, with friends and in our tent while getting out each day to see the sights, swim in the beautiful beaches or go for walks etc as well as locating a few geocaches, of course. We have had good weather the whole time with just a few showers at night and some wind while at Hahei.

On our 39th day in New Zealand we stayed around Whitianga and it's lovely beaches. Besides enjoying the sea we also looked for some caches.
While spa was taking pictures apa was already looking for the box. There's nothing, we have to go on, but when spa double checked it was there. Good to cache in a team!
