We are on a cachey 10 day holiday, starting off with 2 nights at Emu Plains to hopefully collect the new GFA puzzle caches around Luddenham and some more of the Band caches north of Penrith. Then it’s 5 nights at Oberon to collect some of the many new & old puzzle caches that we have solved around the area, and also hoping to complete the Oberon Adventure Lab. After leaving Oberon we will be visiting Jenolan Caves, for both the caves and the Jenolan EarthCache, then heading to Katoomba for 2 nights to ride the Scenic World attractions (Railway, Cableway, & Skyway) and to do a few caches of various types plus an Adventure Lab. We will end the holiday with a stop-off at Wentworth Falls for some more caches and a couple of Adventure Labs.
Today we will be continuing our travels on some more of "the roads less travelled" to collect some more of the TRLT cache series, and also any other caches we come across along the way, including numerous previously solved puzzle/mystery caches. Yesterday we travelled roads to the South of Oberon, and today we will be travelling North towards O'Connell, Tarana, and Meadow Flat. This was our 1st find of the day (day 7), and 130th find of the holiday.
The puzzle was solved at home, and it was to be our first cache-stop for the day, and a nice quick find at GZ. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. The log was very wet, but we stamped it anyway. Thanks Becon4046 & Alwyn255 for the puzzle & cache.

Quick find and maybe our last cache for the day. Been a great series and some puzzles quite challenging. Found with Kittykatch, barb2e and Onieferret on our way back from Bathurst. Been a fantastic weekend but back to reality. TFTC becon4046

We are enabling our caches as travel is now allowed. Please remember that Covid-19 lives for up to 3 days on plastic surfaces. Keep yourself and others safe by using hand sanitiser or gloves.
We are shutting down our caches while the Coronavirus lock-down is in place. We want to protect every finder as current information indicates that the virus can linger on plastic surfaces for up to 9 days. Many caches are near people's homes and we cannot encourage anyone to spread this virus.
Stay safe and heed the doctors advice to stay home if you can.

It was time for a big weekend caching, so I was joined by Fitzy_1965 and MinnieK for two days to tackle the new TRLT caches just East of Bathurst, This part of the trip went smoothly. I also managed to squeeze in a few more on the day after whilst traveling between the rain on Monday.
After Fitzy and MinnieK had to go home, I spent the afternoon getting more of the caches in this region. A collection of puzzles near Oberon was the main target.
Thanks.

Found with MummyPenny on our warm winter drive today. After a couple of challenged finding the last two, the hardness dropped for a little respite this time. Thanks Becon4046 & Alwyn255.
Further into the valley we ventured, still great scenes even if so dry

Bathurst Day 3
Todays drive south towards Blayney, the air conditioned car made lthe trip a little more comfortable. This was a nice way to tour the surrounding countryside & take in the scenery of the rolling hillside. There were many puzzles & a few traditional caches to be found.

We have had a wonderful time caching around Bathurst and on the back roads, love the rural scenery. This was one of the caches we targetted and found. Thanks to becon4046 for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Found with nissan 65 on a few days away caching. Day 3 of our trip. Collecting a few caches on our way home.
Great puzzle, we managed to get two answers for the softest treasure, but worked it out in the end. TFTC.
13062. Found during a run up through the Bathurst/Orange region with minniek.
We had pre-solved a lot of puzzles for this region so they were the main aim for the trip. Quite a number of nice Trads and Multis thrown in as well to make up a great weekend's caching ! This was the next stop for the day on the way up. What an interesting puzzle it was - and the series was a lot of fun to solve (mostly!) and find. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, returned the cache, and it was off to the next one.
Thanks becon4046 !

Headed out on a geocaching weekend through Bathurst and on to Orange with Fitzy_1965. We have pre-solved a number of puzzles and they were our main priority. Added in the odd multi & traditional along the way.
Didn't take long to come up with the find. TFTC

We had solved most of these puzzles some time ago on a wet geocaching day - not sure we'll ever get to eat with the Romans - so today is the trip to find the actual caches. TFTC
After much deliberation and comparing of diaries, The Rats, Steeba and I eventually found a weekend that we could all commit to completing the lower (Southern) half of 'The Road Less Traveled' Series, along with some caching in Bathurst (which was actually the scene of our first combined geocaching trip nine years ago!). A last minute trip overseas for me cropped up; but I arranged it so that I could fly home just in time to not miss out on this caching extravaganza.
Friday night we headed to Abercrombie River via Goulburn (from Wollongong), and camped at the campsite there. Saturday saw us drive the lower (Southern) half of 'The Road Less Traveled' Series, ending up in Bathurst right on dinner time. We then found some local caches before staying at a friend's house for the night. On Sunday we headed back out to Oberon for some more caches and then did a couple of loops around Bathurst. We had originally planned to stay Sunday night, but once we clicked over 300 finds for the weekend the inspiration started to wane, and we all agreed to turn our heads for home.
Cheers

Nothing beats a "road trip". My find count had been suffering from the "rest of life" getting in the way of caching so along with Steeba and Hoojar a plan was hatched to go "beyond the Great Divide". The 2nd half of the TRLT looked to be the obvious solution. Under perfect skies and with gps loaded we hit the dirt roads.
Day 2 of our caching trip and we were out on the roads again. We headed to Oberon and some of the back roads around Bathurst before getting a few more caches in Bathurst. By days end we’d put a good dint in our "beyond the Great Divide" so decided to head for home. Thanks to all the CO’s of the caches we found along the way. Apologises for the template style log but with 300 finds for the weekend each container begins to look the same.

The Rats, Hoojar and myself made for the wider Bathurst area for a weekend finding some of TRLT series of caches.
The whole area was quite green and recent rains had meant the grass had exploded everywhere and was 3 or 4 foot high around many of the caches.
Not only did we find plenty of TRLT, there were many 'History of' caches found amongst others. Thanks to all the hiders. TFTC!

Wilbert67 and us have been planning an over night trip to Bathurst and pre solved many puzzles in preparation, we also picked up quite a few others along the way. We left early in the morning and we were hoping for better weather in light of all the rain we been having and good weather we had. We had an enjoyable day with only 4 DNF out of approximately 43. A big thanks to all the CO for making our trip enjoyable. TFTC.
On A weekender with J+J.AU, Goulburn, Oberon, Bathurst, Lithgow and back is our goal. Solved lots of puzzles as a preparation for this trip and happy to collect in on a lot of them. More eyes makes easier caching. Started with some fog and cold on Saturday morning, but the weather got better and better. Thanks for putting out all the caches!

Canary solved this series prior to our trip, but I hadn't known where he intended to go until the night before. I had no time to solve them, so I've been trying to honestly answer in my logs whether I would have been able to solve them for myself. I'm glad to say that for this one (after a few answers in the negative for the last few caches) I definitely would have solved it. As soon as I saw it I told Canary what was needed and how to do it.
As for the find, another easy one. Thanks

The fifteenth of twenty four on a Road Trip with my wife, bikerbuddy, Wayward Woman and NickoHeap.
I had time last week to solve some puzzles and today it was time to make some finds.
One of these caused more problems than the others but it was a process of elimination that lead to the solution.
A nice easy find.

Have been completely stuck on one of the COs other puzzles so was pleased this series was mostly of a different nature (mostly). Working in the region provided a nice excuse to take the long way back home this evening.
The subject of this puzzle quite familiar item, cache was quickly located and the log signed and replaced.
Thanks Becon4046

This puzzle took quite some figuring out, but I finally managed to crack it. Locating it took us further along the road, (a very busy one at that) through some more spectacular countryside to finally make the find.
Thanks again becon & Alwyn - now back to the drawing board to try and solve some more. I think I'm now addicted.
