Greetings from England. We were staying in Eltham with a cousin whom I met for the first time. We walked around the town picking up some caches. Unfortunately we failed to find this cache.
Pretty sure we were in the right spot, especially based on previous log photos, checked all alternatives, my 8 year old pulled out a dried up dead rabbit(?) Much to his disgust so he was out anyway, don't think it's there
Nice easy find for my 3000th cache. It took a long time to get to this number and I guess Covid 19 has killed the enthusiasm with lock downs etc. Definately time to up my game and get out there more.

Having previously DNF'd this cache, we were pleased to see that it had been replaced, so called passed to turn this blue face into a yellow one (just the way we like them). TFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)…
Auckland Anniversary: We’ve escaped the atrocious weather that has smashed the top of the North Island. Hopefully things won’t be as rough down the country. We’re hoping Taranaki will have enough sunshine and blue skies for our visit…
A great hint which we interpreted. No cache found ‘below the stones’ though. This needs checking.

Road trip today, so decided to do a cache in each town to break the trip. Easy find today, though we did a bit of kneeling first. Loving recording the date - it reads the same way backwards, forwards and upside down (in computer figures) 22022022

Very clever hint! But our wandering around the wrong bit gave the muggles time to leave, so once we figured out what we were doing it was soon an easy retrieval. TFTC
Lesson learnt, trust the gps! Hint was clever and once bith of my neurons started working together, cache in hand. TFTC
On a weekend trip to Taranaki with some of Team BOP. Always lots of fun on these trips targeting cache trails, solved puzzles and high favourites. Thanks to all the cache owners TFTC
A plan was hatched recently to hit the Naki area this long weekend. Nice to get away and grab a lot of our solved puzzles and ALs plus others along the way. Signed logs Team BoP to save room on log sheets.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

Team BOP is back on the road this time heading to Taranaki with our sights set on some Labs, some geo-art & everything else in between
Our current incarnation includes Davidson Clan, NZFlossy, McJandals and myself and we’ve signed the cache logs as ‘Team BOP’ to save time and log space. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the journey as most caches have been found quickly & without fuss thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward placements.
I appreciate there’s a stigma attached to cut’n’paste logs like these so I’ll try to provide cache specific notes retrospectively when I get home. We do genuinely respect the work put into these caches, particularly some of the puzzles, but with a numbers mission like this - the hides start to blur together unfortunately. So Cheers COs, TFTC and most importantly - thanks for bringing us here

TeamBOP are together again for the long weekend. Philip.Perry, McJandals,NZFlossy and myself are heading to New Plymouth and surrounding areas caching.
Holy we found it.

#9604. The last day of my four day trip to Taranaki. Making my way back to Wellington today. After three fine days the weather changed overnight and now its raining, windy and rather chilly. Having found the TMGT cache I was now planning to do the Adventure Lab but decided to pick up some traditional caches as well as the rain had finally eased. The hint was a bit cryptic but the coordinates are good and I soon realised what it referred to. Reached in and felt a cache. Signed the log and replaced the cache where found. I now see reading past logs there might be two caches at this location. Not sure which one I signed. Just pleased to find any container!! Thanks hot rods 2005 for hiding the cache here.
not sure how the hint works but pretty obvious where it is when the gps says 1m, tftc
Fortunately I had read the last few logs down to the last find so at GZ I had a good idea of where it would be.
Oddly I could spot a cache straight away so after signing that fairly empty log I checked again and found the actual cache where I had suspected it would be (about a foot from the 'new cache'). CO might want to visit and remove one - refer the photo for the two caches.
I was traveling through Eltham and decided the Adventure Lab Cache would be good to grab while also grabbing the three caches in the close area. All in all quite a nice little walk to break up my drive.

hot rods 2005, we didn’t find your cache today. Sorry, but it wasn’t for lack of trying though! Felt around everywhere and came up empty.
A nice and easy find. Coordinates took us straight to GZ and then Arcane Junior got to work with his skinny arms.
Mini Arcane then re-hid the cache. It’s not visible to the naked eye but it should be a lot easier for us adult cachers to reach.
TFTC hot rods 2005!

No luck today.
Felt around under the stones, arm too fat to reach too far.

Holy moly busy today with bouncy castles so had a bit of a discreet look but no luck.
Spotted it as I was heading to GZ thanks to the previous finder. I left it in the same place. TFTC
Teamed up with Cats&Dragons, for an overnight mission down the West Coast focusing in and around Hawera. It's been awhile since we've done a trip like this and it was great to be out finding caches again. We left Hamilton at 7pm Friday night and returned midnight Saturday, with only a few hours of sleep needed we managed 116 finds for the trip. A big thanks to all the cache owners for their placements.
Soon spotted this one.
Soon spotted this one.
I missed this one on the first pass then checked the hint and decided it had to be where I thought it was. It turned out it was a little further away (rolled?) than I expected so I made it easier for the next visitor.
Not sure that it would still be there. Looks like they replace the parking lot. Lovely spot for a cache. Love the community pantry. TFTC
used to go to the convent school here in eltham for all of two days thay could not handle a country lad ,then it was off to the local school at the south end of town ,long walk when you lived at the north end of town .had to walk all the way down stanners st.
(# 5691). A flying visit to Taranaki primarily to get the TMGT geotour caches. Day 2 was to drive from New Plymouth to Hawera then back on home directly. A quick find. Everything in order. TFTC
Thankfully an easy find here as we are caching in the rain. UG not fun!.
Day 5- Wednesday 18 December. Hawera district again including Eltham and Manaia.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are spending Christmas exploring Taranaki via geocaching. Its been an amazing 3 week adventure. Rattls BBQ was a great event, meeting many other cachers. But also managed to fit in a few more events, especially New Years Day celebrating the start of 2020. Lots of caches - over 500. Lots of cache maintenance. Lots and lots of kilometers. And lots of amazing places visited along our journey. Mt Taranaki remained elusive for much of our travels and the caches on it at the top. Loved Pukekura Park Night Lights Show and the the Wooden Mechanical toy exhibition at NP Info centre.

It's raining. We're wet. And since we are wet we may as well get out in the rain and carry on caching! Easy find here, then dashed back to the car.
Day five of Taybeedragon's and my big 3 week circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki, starting from Palmerston North. Today is Hawera to Eltham - oh yes, it's going to be a slow trip!!
Highlights:
* 3 weeks, 536 caches
* Mt Taranaki had been removed for washing, which was a bit of a shame. Even after it had been returned we were only allowed to see it for it was less than half an hour a day.
* High percentage of caches with crappy coordinates
* Amazing Pukekura Park
* AMAZING Pukekura Park light show!
* Pukeiti Gardens
* Lots of cache maintenance!

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](https://coord.info/GC87777) - you won't want to miss it!

I am now on my way to Wanganui, but I still have time to grab a few as I travel. I could hear voices coming from a building in the rear of the property, so I made quick work of this one. TFTC.

The rain has stayed away this morning but the wind has now picked up and is very strong. The gps initially took me beyond GZ where there were no hint objects. A bit puzzled I had a little poke and prod around and soon located the cache. As I was signing the log the wind blew away some of the loose sheets so I had to chase them down and quickly get it before it blew away some more - ah the things you do when geocaching .

Had planned to grab 5 geocaches in New Plymouth today to bring my March total upto 100 for one of the Wiarapa challenges but since work finished up early and there was plenty of time for the journey home I looked for a route that took me passed a few rural caches off the main highway circuit.
After traveling one of the back roads for only find 3 of the six caches we stopped at we found ourselves back in the civilised world of Eltham.
Just two more caches needed so it was off we went to the holy world where we found enlightenment and reward.
Thanks.

Found on 12th Sept but could not log it. Definitely cache was not there on first visit, but all good this time TFTC
I have set myself a goal to get the requirements for the mystery cache The well-rounded cacher challenge (Manawatu) This requires me to get 25 badges 5 of which need to be gemstone badges. So each time I now go out caching weather it is by myself or with fellow cacher I will try to get a least one cache that will get me closer to my goal
The plan for the day is to head up to Opunake and log as many of the active caches that I can find there, once I have done that I will then head over to Eltham and log a couple of more caches there before heading back home
The last time I was here I was unable to search for this cache as the church/hall was in use
Today there was no one around soon I began looking for the cache my GPS would settle down and it was putting the cache all over the place so I stop and through to myself were would I put the cache and spotted three likely spots it was third time lucky
Thanks for the cache

Trip south for the family. Quick stop and search and find after following GPS. Concrete not, was helpful hint.
Was pushed back a bit too far, managed to retrieve it with some wire and placed it closer to opening tftc
A drive to Eltham to help eliminate my February dots. A straightforward find once the hint clicked. TFTC.
This was quite a quick find considering GPS wanted me to go in another direction and as an added bonus I found a pen. It was all quite here this afternoon so the log was soon signed and returned. Thank you.
Heading up to Stratford to watch some of the Jr. Cachers play hockey in a secondary tournament and had a few caches planned along the way. All quiet here today with the wet weather keeping most people indoors. Quick find by Jr. Cacher #3 following the GPSr to GZ in the logical hiding spot. Completed the formalities and left as found. Thanks hot rods 2005.
Today it was time to locate and sign off the caches in and around Eltham and Normanby.
I had to get down on my knees for this one praying that I could get this one.
Cheers for the cache.

Ok that was hard! It took me a while to find the write spot to look, and took me longer to find the cache! I so thought I'd get busted!
Today I'm On my way from New Plymouth to Taumaranui, the long way via Wanganui picking up caches on the way! A group of us are meeting up in Taumaranui tomorrow to take a jetboat down the Wanganui river! Yippee! should be cool (in both senses of the word). But first had to do a couple of hours work in HAwera, which is why I was passing through Eltham

A quick drive through Eltham on my round the mountain drive, a quick and easy grab, tftc hot rods 2005
I got to the site and then a horse and rider and walker came along and stood right out side the spot and proceeded to talk for a while and then use the cell phone and then talk again, during which time I had to stay in the car and make it look like I was using my cell phone also . I had spied where I thought the cache might be during this wait so when they finally moved on a little way further down the street and out of eye sight of the cache I was able to go to it, retrieve it, sign it and replace it. Thank you for this cache and another smiley face,
Took a little while to find as I was super hesitant to go poking around in there! A fun cache! TFTC!
we had expected a kind of devilry even before we entered a holy ground and we were right ; therefore we spotted the cache immediately ;
Had to read the hint a couple of times and think outside the box but got it pretty quickly. Nice lil spot - tftc
Another summer visit to locate the unfound caches and turn them into smilies. Really enjoyed our stroll around the park. Found this one with help from the hint TFTC.
