Logs
Drove out here , noticed the features at the point, drove away, and then realised there was a cache, so turned around & came back. Tide low enough & legs just long enough to make it across without changing into my togs Added a waterproof log sheet & a countdown toy... TFTC!
Up north for a three day break in Mahinepua. Absolutely glorious autumn weather and the water still quite warm as we headed over to this one.
Once through the cutting, I was thinking about where to look, when Mrs 0B8 pointed the cache out to me. Well that was nice and easy. Unfortunately, there was no lid and the paper log was very much eaten by bugs, so took a photo instead. Nice to make a find 501 days after the last found log, so this one will go on my lonely cache list.
I think the machinery near here would likely have been used in the whaling industry, but a bit unusual to see both cwts and kg markings. TFTC

We are travelling around Northland exploring all the little bays and side roads. Cache found after a search and a cold dip in the stream.TFTC

Right..... So... Did not read the description did I.... Had to cross the river so i did not wear any shoes... Well.. The GZ showed it as being maybe out the point at the top of the hill.... Today I can safely say I have discovered a brand new type of prickle... And yes I found All of them.. My feat will never be the same after this. I want to say TFTC but honestly I'm not sure how I feel right now. My partner almost died of laughter watching me on this on... Found it eventually under a big tree... Shot guys. Hahaha
TFTC.... another hidden gem around Te Ngaire!
Found easily thanks to kicked in geosenses! But had to wait for the diving muggles to go past!
Very fitting cache container too.

Greetings from Tauranga. Had an absolutely fabulous day out here, some swimming, kayaking and a toddler who introduced herself to everybody around so we made a lot of friends as well! Lovely cache with the Pohutukawa out in full bloom nearby. Cache is all good. TFTC
Walked along the beach and through the stream. Then around the rocks but its back over there maybe on the headland so clambered up the rocks and bank but no its back down the bank on the other side to the little house. It really does pay to read cache descriptions. Now it was a quick snag and tag. Cheers.
Friday - day fourteen - Kerikeri - northwards with The Seagnoid , toby and William. Zara gets to rest up in KeriKeri again.
Its another epic 3+ week geocaching adventure with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and Willam to the Far North. What an amazing place to explore. Lots of walks, gravel roads and sand. Lots of amazing trees, beaches and interesting POIs. Lots of kilometers traveled by vehicle and foot. Vehicle breakdowns, making new friends and catching up with old friends and family. Snagged a couple of FTF's, lots of lonely caches and the odd event along the way. Lots of cache maintenance and replaced caches on this trip. But what an incredible adventure!!. Thanks to all the CO's who have made this trip so memorable..

Oh, this cache just ticks so many boxes. From climbing straight up the bank and over to this side (because the cache just isn't over on that side, and up and over is more fun that around) to the strange little cutting and of course, the wonderful little witches house. Not convinced about using glass containers in a rocky environment, but for now it is still good. Gets a favourite.
Day fourteen of an awesome, tiring, long, three week holiday geocaching with Taybeedragon in the upper north. Today it's Paihia. The whole trip comprised of hours of walking on sand, sliding down sand dunes, hundreds of kilometres of unsealed roads, car breakdowns, paddling out to islands, lighthouses, dolphins, goats, events, FTFs, weird boulders. You name it, we saw it. Lots of bisons, lots of cache maintenance, lots of sunscreen. A month is enough. I am glad to be back home. Except that now I have to write up my trip. We averaged just 20 caches per day, but that is still a lot of logging!
Merry Christmas from the Seagnoid!

A bit cold today for the direct approach. A bit of lateral thinking and we were there. TFTC
Such a beautiful spot and a lovely walk to a well hidden container with all its history. We should have swum there as it was not as pleasant at Tauranga Bay when we arrived there....soon improved though. TFTC
Got closer to GZ and realized that I needed to cross the water without all the appropriate equipment. Oh well.
This cache was our last for the day and beautiful Te Ngaere doesn't disapoint. Good to be able to park on the beach and straight away we gathered we were to get wet feet. Chatted to a boate and a Fisher person along the way. I got distracted by the view but soon my mate found the moonshine. Dropped of tb. TFTC
My buddy and I were wandering along sussing out a route to gz. We saw a boat coming in and figured it was too deep over there. The boatie parked up in the shallows while his mate got the trailer. He asked us if we were geocachers. "Yip" we said. He'd been helping his brother find some the previous year and thought it was fun. I'm sure he'll report back to his bro that there's a cache near his launching spot. We ventured across the water which was just below our knees and made our way carefully around the edges. Met a fisherman from Melbourne enroute who'd had a successful 3 days fishing off the rocks. We admired the interesting winch then set off in search of our moonshine. We panicked at the thought that it might be up one of the cliffs but soon spotted it down below. Neat cache container. Ventured back across the stream on tiptoe this time as the water had risen to knee depth. I really enjoyed the adventure to get this one thanks, fav point added
Enjoying a scenic coastal drive in Bubbles and just had to stop here today. Very lucky as tide perfect and cache was in hand very fast. Interesting 'old winch' . Just wonder what it was used for in days gone by?. Will upload a few photos of such a beautiful spot shortly.thx for another wee smilie
Our first hide. Hope it will be enjoyed exploring for it and the lovely beach. Placed trackable TCXQJC in it.
