Was in Sydney for Vivid and in the Rocks. Look everywhere for this little sucker. Needs to be checked. Great spot though.
This one has recorded a few DNFs or maintenance requests with no response from CO The Rocks Sydney, who seems to be inactive. Only 2 finds, the last being in March 2016. Abandoned ship. Maybe it should go to the big cache cache in the sky to save wasting people's time and to clear the space for another placement.
Based on last log (smiley face), I thought finally someone found it . But no. The log says DNF, so haven’t I..
With so many DNFs, this one is in desperate need of a check. Could the CO complete the check and report back on the current status of the cache, please?
Either stunningly hidden, or no longer there. Well done if it’s the former. We live nearby and will come back if we see that someone found it!
Spent a LONG time looking. I know I’m in the right place but I can’t spot the cache
Cache log: I figured I could pick this one up easily en route to it's neighbour, which was one of my targets for today. Arrived at GZ, only to realise it wasnt GZ. Silly me. Coordinates only work on 2 dimensions, not 3. Later on in my wanderings around I figured out the correct approach and was greeted with a view rather different to the one at my original location. Wouldve loved to have taken some pics of the artwork to send to my Father, who is an avid street art photographer, although this isnt quite in his hitting zone it's still impressive nonetheless. But alas my phone had already died and darkness was fast setting in, so he will have to wait until I return. TFTC.
Day log: With a few hours up my sleeve before I had to head to the airport I decided to hit Circular Quay and the surrounding area. There is a couple of caches there I have been wanting to do for some time, and being that it is also the first day of Cache Carnival, the opportunity to pick up some high FP caches was too good to pass up. A range of caches were completed, with virtuals and EC's my primary targets for the day. Thanks to all CO's for their efforts in placing some wonderful caches in a wonderful location.

Couldn't come up with this. Maybe I wasn't on the right level. I'm always annoyed at those kind of caches.
H.e and Lucy are visiting from Kamloops BC Canada. We are part of an organized tour of eastern Australia and that leaves very little time for geocaching, a real hardship especially for H.e. Therefore we are grateful for any caches that are near to sites we visit and are quick finds.
This one fits the bill nicely.
We decided to go our own way today and find some caches.

This one probably needs a new container (or i need to go to the gym ), was unable to open the tin and therefore couldn't sign the log. Attached a photo of the container.

This was the closest cache to where we are staying. There was a cricket match being played at gz last night so we came back this morning for a quick find. Sl tftcm
Pretty out in the open and a little rusty but found it. Moldy. If I had another container I’d help out.
Lid almost rusted on and challenging to reach, great location. Thanks for this one.
A beautiful night. We first had to sind the right level. Greetings from Swiss cachers.
GPS was moving around so gave it 3 goes at different spots and moved on
Travelling with Sassy Lassy, we located this one quickly. Signed the LOG, left some SWAG and a Canadian flag. Awesome art work. TFTC..... and off we go to gather more smilees.
Travelling with Bluefirebird. Today is our last morning in Sydney before we board our cruiseship. Sydney is a very beautiful city. TFTC
Compared to the tourist hassle down at the Rock this neighbourhood feels a lot more authentic. Getting to GZ and onto the right level was quite a challenge. Thanks for pointing out the great street artwork with this nice cache. TFTC!
After checking in at the hotel nearby we went on a walk to find some caches.
A bit difficult to find the way to the cache, and also difficult to open the box, but I managed.
TFTC and greetings from Denmark

My last day in Sydney, and this was my first cache on my morning walk. It’s great this area was rescued.
I found the cache quickly but logging - not so quick! The lid is rather tight and my fingernails are too short, but managed to prise it off with the help of the fence.
Thank you!

Great little place to check out. Co-ords definitely off though and indicate logical but incorrect options which I think accounts for previous logs being chucked in an improvised plastic bag cache. Cache was sneakily hidden (these types always get me) but the lid was on reeeeeeeal tight. Don't break a nail! TFTC
Discovering Sydney by foot we visited some caches. This one was among them.

Found the plastic bag and the real cache. Put the bag in the cache and took a travel bug with us to drop off at our next one
No travel bugs here today...but did find the log. Tftc..nice art...Fabulous location ...this to me is the original Sydney ...worth a look
12:20 This is a very nice piece of art, but, uh... This is not a cache. This is a ripped plastic bag with some logsheets in it, not worthy of a small size designation, and definitely unable to hold any trackables. Is there meant to be a container here, that's somehow been lost over time? Or am I at the wrong location and lots of previous loggers have not actually found the cache??
I've got no containers on me, so I've added plastic in hopes of weatherproofing.
--- later edit ---
From subsequent logs and a message I received, I suspect I didn't find the actual cache. If you spot the pile of logsheets in the picture (it's in a hole in a post), please put it in the actual container so future searchers aren't fooled, thanks!

Another Day of Geocaching

This one looked to be on the way to Circular Quay. Turned out it wasn't! Easy find once we found it! Lid very difficult to remove. Tftc
Although this cache is in open view it still took us a while to spot it. Then quite a bit longer to prise the lid open with our tweezers. Greetings from the Isle of Man.
In town with my (non-caching) dad for a cruise and managed to escape long enough for some geobiking. I almost skipped this one because I had come down from the bridge and was heading another direction but decided to ride this way and see what I could find. Luckily this put me on the correct level and I soon had the cache in hand.
The challenge was to get here from the circular station. Once there, it was obvious why. Very interesting place, but not so easy to find the log.

Interesting historical place to place a cache. It was difficult to find the cache but after examined the only possible object properly we found it eventually. TFTC

During our great roadtrip through Australia today we spent two whole days in Sydney, walking this amazing city and finding a lot of great caches. This was one of them.

Apologies for the late log (posted 11 days after visiting Sydney).
I was on my own in Sydney on a business trip from the UK and managed to fit one day off into the schedule. Way too much to see in Sydney in a day so the little green circles on the Geocaching map became my guide with only the Opera House and Harbour Bridge set as definite destinations. Who knows what I might discover!
In this case it was a glorious piece of artwork, a shelter from the wind (which made the sun feel even hotter) and a piece of paper to write my name on. I must confess that I had to take a circuitous route to this cache because the change in levels around the area coupled with dead ends did expose my map reading skills. Or was it the poor detail on the map? Yes, lets go with that.
A great little hide and absolutely nobody down this road to muggle the activity. The artwork provides a great diversion should you need to pretend you are here for something other than Geocaching.
My walk around Sydney lasted all day, even if the battery in my phone did not, and I saw lots of local art, architecture, people and other small areas of historical interest that many of the thousands of people disgorged from the cruise ships probably have no idea exists. TFTC, I will have to return to change more green spots to yellow smileys.

On my way to a Christmas party and not having any luck with a few multi's in around George Street, manly to the crowed's and all the construction work, I was determined to find one today.
I took a few attempts to get GZ. It is very tricky navigating the streets and the lanes. I finally go there.
I search for a bit and was about to give up, then I looked up and bingo.
I had the container in my hands and walked away from GZ. The lid was very hard to get off, I had to use the end of my pen to work it up.
I found a spot on the paper that is in there to record my name.
The log needs to be replaced and the container needs so attention.
I loved the artwork on the wall and I enjoyed walking up the lane next to Susan Place.

Wow, thanks so much for the rich and fascinating history lesson of the area. I really enjoyed reading about it and I have so enjoyed walking around The Rock's and Miller's Point finding caches. Thanks for the big time fun!
This cache does need some attention however. It is without a container, simply a baggie with a log sheet. And the baggie is pretty ripped up. Sorry that I didn't have my repair kit with me as I am traveling through the area.

Erin1405 and I did a round trip from Alice Springs down South along the coast and ended up in Sydney. We had a marvellous time on this amazing continent viewing a lot of new and beautiful impressions. Of course we searched and found some caches, just like this one. Thanks a lot and many greetings from Germany.
I found this cache together with B.F.Pierce during our wonderful vacation in Australia. We drove four weeks with a camper van through this amazing country from Alice Springs to Sydney. We enjoyed the great people, wildlife and countryside so much. Thank you for the great cache! Best regards from Germany!
After some time in Victoria and Tasmania, I eventually reached Sydney today. And first thing, I made my way to the harbour area. The weather was way better than I expected it to be and so I enjoyed strolling around the Circular Quay, the Rocks and under and over the Coathanger . On my way, I visited a few caches and so I also passed by here. I was on the wrong track initially but some previous logs have an idea where to search.... I actually felt a little bit in Berlin [:o]. Now there is a bright yellow smile on my map here too [^]. Thanks for hiding
On my way, very early, for the bridge climb so had plenty of time to hunt for this QEF. Would never have seen this lovely mural, or found out this part of Sydney history. TFTC #1239
Found myself in Sydney for a 4 day course out in Hurstville. Study by day, cache by night (or straight after the day's activities continuing into the night). Staying downtown and commuting back and forth along the T4, inbetween there was time for Skyping with the family back home, eating, showering and sleeping. Other than that, not much else was done.
Apologies for the generic log, specific details added as noted along the way. TNLNSL TFTC
Was nearly 9.00pm when I arrived, a bit dark to fully appreciate the mural. A quick look around before spotting the cache from a far. Would you believe it, a group of lost Chinese tourists wandered down the road. What the!! Had to wait it out, taking a few minutes for them to discover it was a dead end. Timing!!

Since November 5th I study Englisch at ILSC for 1 month. After the school I walked around and was searching some caches. After looking to the fotos I recognized where the cache can be hidden. Then I found the cache after a short search.

#count Traveling through Australia to see nice people and places. Also to find some geocaches.
Today the harbour part of Sydney was on the list. Several virtual caches were her and we visited ofcourse the famous Opera House. It was a long walk through the area, going up and down streets, visting nice parks, seeing the old original houses with many cache to lead us where to go. In parralel we noted al festiveties around the worldcup in Melbourne. Even a solved puzzle was visited.
Some caches were a fast find, some we very nasty to discover. Where good hints were available, the founds were faster.
All in all, a long but satifying geocaching tourist day in Sydney
