We had just pulled in here when a notification came out that the CO had a new cache, just 2 miles from my house. Oh well, I'll be the first to find this cache today instead.
We are headed north and stopped here especially because there was mention of a digger part - the oldest kid is a bit digger obsessed. Cache was a quick easy find but sadly no digger parts to be seen anymore.
Heading up north for a week or two with matagouri, picking up any caches we can safely pull over at with the campervan as we go.A nice quick find here. Thanks for setting this up.
Heading north to Whangarei with rattll. A quick park'n'grab just on a side road. Rattll made the find very quickly, signed, and returned. Just as we were about to reverse to do a three point turn (a bit of an operation in a campervan), a ute pulls in behind, blocking the turning point. We had to continue down the side road for half a kilometre to find another place to turn around. Tftc!

( ) Out for a long day of caching 12 hrs all up, with supernanny. Been some time I have cached for this long, really enjoying it too. I asked supernanny if I could claim this one too, she has done it, but it won't take long as we're passing by it anyway. ( ) We parked on Wayby Valley Rd, and I ran the gauntlet by crossing the main HW with cars zooming by at 100km or so. Once across I soon had the cache in hand, all good here TWS. Then back across the main rd, but a little easier this time. Now to make our way back into Auckland.
Nice and easy with good parking (appreciated), and yes I still remember the first time I found a cache.

On our way to Auckland TEMBO! and I managed a short stop at "Do You Remember ...". We found the cache quickly and put our nicks in the logbook.

A last minute return trip to Whangarei offered the opportunity to pick off a handful of park and grab caches north of the big city.
Another quick stop for a straightforward find.

A nice quick pull-in to collect this cache, fortunately, the flow of traffic is easing, making it easier to pull out and then back into traffic. Nice quick find here, once on the right side. TFTC

Quick stop on my way past back to Whangarei. Had a great morning at Tawharanui regional park , tree planting day.
Lovely quick easy find. On our way north abs driven past here so often but today we are taking it easy and finally had the time to stop. TFTC.
A nice quick find thanks. First for the day.
Ms_KR and I are on a wee break to find some of the Northern PW GeoTour caches. Today we cruiised from Warkworth to Kaitaia. We had some showers, but the day was mostly fine. Still a lovely day for driving and caching.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Stop #3 on our Northland Adventure with Tonisch13. Nice quick easy cache. TFTC
Find Number 7159. My daughter is walking the Te Araroa so I decided to meet her for Christmas day so was heading to Pakiri Beach. A stop here to check on something for here and as I was early I stopped for a few caches. Nice easy park and grab here for me. Thank you for the placement.

North Island Campervan trip Day 7
After the fantastic holiday I had a few months ago traveling around the South Island, making the most of one of those incredibly cheap campervan deals available at the time, I figured it was worth taking a week off work before the stresses of the usual holiday period to enjoy some of the delights to be found around the top of the North Island.
This would be a great chance for me to seek out some targeted caches such as the TMGT ones as well as some that would help me with my Jasmer grid, missing minutes (for a couple of challenge caches I'm working on) and any other caches that caught my eye.
Last night I ended up spending the night at the DOC site near Okere Falls, which was nicely quiet and a great place to start my day from. I knew that tonight I would be in Kaiwaka visiting friends there, but today would be a lot of driving to get there so plenty of opportunity for caching. By the time I got to here, the afternoon rush hour traffic out of Auckland was in full swing, so the roads were pretty busy.
However, thanks to the decent sized layby, I was able to park up and walk over to this one without too much fuss. The cache itself only took me a moment to locate thanks to the Hint and very slight geotrail, and finding no issues with the cache or the log I quickly added my name to the sheet and then was back on my way again.
Thanks for setting this cache up.

Ahh Jarvis Cocker, how I miss the eccentricity. mrs capperz was at the wheel and was ok with one last cache before astraight run at the airport. Picked the wong side to start, then got it right.
After just about a week in the area of Northland it's the day to head back to the airport and return the hire car, and fly back home. There was time for a fe wcaches on the way, both Northland and Auckland, so that was nice. A good weekend away, and some great weather too.
After a weekend in Wellington and catching up with my UK based mother and her cruise trip to NZ, we made the most of being up here on the North Island and added an extra 6 days in Northland to the trip itinerary. We flew up to Auckland on Sunday afternoon and after a faff around with a hire car we took the scenic/dark route up the Helennsville highway to the North. Arrived late on Sunday night and straight to sleep. We had a week with son Ed and his 4 under 3 years old children. Fun time was had and some nice experiences.

Quick find on my drive up north, traffic not too bad either for start of Xmas holidays
I'll never forget the excitement of my first time, though this one was much easier than that. tftc
TFTC Heading back to Whangarei couldn't resist stopping to grab this cache
My objective today was all about the numbers - but not the usual numbers - I was after missing minutes to complete the South 36 Challenge (GC54X4E). I started the day needed 11 more and managed to get them all while dodging rain showers along the way. Heading south I was on the wrong side of the highway but parked in the side road and very carefully made my way to GZ for a quick find in the logical spot. TFTC, Biggles.
Mal schauen, was noch kommt.
We started the day with two more caches in the near of our campground. Even the one we couldn't find yesterday evening was done. Both are tricky hides but we found them thanks to the hints and a bit of imagination. On our way further to the north were a lot of caches - we couldn't do them all. So we picked some of them and could find all of them. The B-Cache was an exciting one, because of the nest next to the box; we had to be very careful (see picture). Later on we came into the Kauri area and some caches had also to do with Kauri (Kauri stump, Kauri museum, Kauri Forrest,...). The one in Dargaville was a nice one and we found it without help from the info staff. Just before we arrived at the campground Top of the hill, we had one last cache at the roast of Rawene. An easy one if you are tall enough - Mrs fleuchi was not.

To get 2019 off to a roaring start, I took advantage of some good weather to go up to Whangarei for three days. This was a quick stop to grab this cache on my way North. TFTC.
Northland Day 1: We drove up from Auckland to Hokianga today, passing through the Hibiscus Coast before heading across to Kaipara District and then into the Hokianga Harbour. Stopped by various beautiful regions along the way to take in the views, and of course, there was always room a few cache finds... well, not a few Thanks to all the COs along the way for showing us the lovelier parts of the Northland!
The following is the specific log for each cache:
Quick find here as always with any good layover cache. Thanks for giving me another excuse to get a smiley out of a quick stop. TFTC!

We left Auckland quite late in the day after my conference was finished. However, having the door code for our accommodation in Whangarei gave us all the time in the world to find a few on the way up! The weather was abysmal, but tunfisk had a new piece of tramping equipment he was keen to test in exactly these conditions, so he was more than happy to do the jumping out of the car We had a great time and the time passed much quicker than expected. TFTC!!
Scooted off SH1 with thankfully very little traffic either way. Nice quick find & sign. TFTC
Last find for the day on my journey to Auckland International Airport and then Cambridge.Tftc.
Another stop to help tikitour complete all the caches along the main road between Whangārei and Auckland.
A caching adventure day with Riser5 and tikitour to get points for the planetary pursuit.

Quick find. We had to take this cache because of the Schlaftablette in front of us. We say TFTC and greetings from Germany. And now we go on to Auckland.
Quick easy find with the little brother, Skott30, on the way home from a family Christmas lunch in Auckland.
#9527. A good stop while passing through Wellsford. GZ was all quiet when we visited. Quick find at the second place checked. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Quick stop on way to meet some friends at Wellsford...for some Long Walks and Caching !
Thanks .
Thanks .
After a bit of a wander along the trails of Mt Tamahunga I decided it was time for a drive up the coast. Certainly some variation in road quality along the coast out this way. But now it is time to head for home via the main roads. Still time to collect a few more hides though. I parked up next to GZ, after safely crossing the road. No issue making the find here. Time to hit the south bound road. Cheers for the cache placement!
Always remember the first time of a lot of fun things thx. Nice park and grab today.
Grinned at the title, could refer to a number of things.Quick easy find, thankyou.
Needed to pick up a daughter in Wellsford so left early to do some caching. This cache was placed not long after I completed all the caches between Warkworth and Wellsford so time to turn it into a smile on the map. Quite a bit of rubbish at GZ so did some CITO. Thanks TheWonderStuff.
Mangawhai to Auckland.
Today we drove back to the city, our holiday comming to an end.
So much going on in the last couple of days so I have not been able to log this untill we arrived back in Aussie.

We were heading back to the far north today after the Mega in Turangi. I had a fantastic time down south. Decided to grab this one on our way as it was a quick park and grab. Our last cache for the weekend. I will definitely remember my first mega event, TFTC
Heading north this afternoon, so we made a brief stop here to make our daily streak cache find. Thanks.
Doing a bit of maintenance on some of my caches up this way while I was in the area. After completing all the ground work decided to grab a few new caches in the area. No trouble with the find.
I figured there would be a cache along this big new barrier. Surprised that there are none between here and mangawhai though. A nice quick park and grab. 28 August 2016 13:45 GH6710 T F T C TheWonderStuff

Another find on the way north and another nice easy one along the way. Our first cache was a Glyn one and remember we couldn't believe that there was thousands of these all over the place.
Passing through on my way home with Panda22 we just happened to stop to answer a phone call and found this cache was only a few metres away. TFTC
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... On a flying visit to Northland with the intention of finding very old caches and anything else that is within short walking distance of the vehicle. The gloomy, black sky is an indication that rain is only a minute away...

The Squirrel and my plans for the weekend was to log as many old caches as possible to go towards completing another challenge. This meant a lot of kilometres driving and a bit of forward planning and plus collect as many other caches as we could. The plan was to travel to KawaKawa Bay and stay at Hemi's uncles home.
Early start Saturday morning with our goal to get to KawaKawa. Google tells me its 266 Kilometres one way, but with caching who knows how many km's it will be.
Left Rotorua after work on Friday with a stop for dinner (Cambridge Roast House). Next stop Huntly for a coffee and a chat with fellow cachers, then on to KawaKawa Bay. No caches done on this leg.
Early start Saturday morning to achieve our goal.
10.05am - Two guys were loading a digger on a transporter here and the road was partly blocked, think they were wondering what we were up to. After they left we realised cache was where they had parked. SLTFTC
