Not accessible, not safe to enter, very likely cache no longer exists due to extreme washout
Foiled again. Thought I'd pop down here, park across the road and bring the geohound for a bit of a plunder through the bush. I knew the bridge was a bit dodgy last time I came (a couple of chunks of it were missing) but I thought I could get across again.
Nope! Bridge closed. So tried the entrance by the bowling club, but that was also fenced off.
Didn't have the energy to try anymore of the entrances to the bush (the ones Hinemoa are still closed).

Here on a Girl Guide camp. GPS was way off, but was able to find the location. Interesting cache.
Didn't think we were going to find this one. GPS was way off but luckily Mom came to the rescue and found G_2's cleverly hidden cache! Thanks for keeping us thinking!
This o e took a few stops as GPSr was a little poor. Eventually followed my nose based on hint and a few previous logs. Finally located and a well camo’ cache. TFTC
Missed this on the way past originally so after admiring the waterfall from on high I started the countdown to GZ. Never got the reading lower that low-double figures but the hint was all good and the cache was found and signed.
A new day, and a new set of targets and goals to try and meet. Have been to some parts of the trail(s) in the past but not caching. Back today to make the finds and sign the logs. A few out Onepoto way, as well as some along the trails out towards Birkenhead and finished at the Sugar factory. Thanks to all COs for their hides and the fun.
I was out caching for the first 3 days of this week, racking up over 12kms walked on each of the three days, and getting healthy double-figure hauls in the process too. In line with the NZ Geocache Reviewers guidance on what Covid Level 3, Part 1 looks like, geocaching is permitted but not events or any new listings. It seems the NZ Covid website has failed to maintain pace with Lockdown level amendments and changes and is still lumping Geocaching in with Orienteering and other gathering type activities. The GPS didn't help much with this one. Had to poke it with a stick as it looked like it might be something else entirely...
Nice quick find here after finally making sense of "inside corner". Awesome camo that blends in perfectly with surroundings! TFTC
This one and the next in the trail looked familiar, I’m pretty sure I found them before and likely forgot to log them... very good camo here, with the rain today, the waterfall was running nicely. TFTC
Great cache and camo. Didn't take too long to find once got to the right bend. TFTC

At last success! I’ve looked for this one so many times. Finally ignored GPS, widened my search and finally found something slightly out of place. Tftc
Back and forward, finally got it, nice cammo, as usual. Cute set up

Started out at 3.30 in the morning (all good plans start when it's dark!) The drive north was fantastic, virtually no traffic all the way through Auckland to the North Shore and in the company of Cats & Dragon's. We found our first cache at 4.30am and cached hard out untill lunch time. The weather held out for us, with the occasional lite drizzle. A fantastic day, over 60 finds a few DNF and a big hole put in the area.
Thanks to all the CO's who placed their cache for us to find and thanks for the great day!

Today was a chance to head out in the company of McCutchen Cache Clan for a little bit of a hit out around Takapuna and Northcote/Highbury areas. So trying to make the most of the day (and in that what I really mean is to avoid both people and traffic as much as possible. We headed up early and were actually caching just before 5am and were all over by noon so that we could get home to our families.
All Logs signed as "MCD" to conserve logbook space
Having set myself a couple of personal caching goal for the year (or at least whats left of it) I thought I had better crack into it and start collecting so that hopefully the last 6 months of the years is far more productive than the first 6 months.
All in all a great morning was had and we managed to stay dry. Not too many DNF's, a couple of unattempted's as not able to get to them and plenty of founds. A few of the gully's that we traversed were very muddy and so was suitably grateful for the decision to bring the tramping boots to keep the feet dry.
Great collection of caches and some very clever camouflage by the usual suspects. So all in all 65 successful finds today with what the time allowed. I apologize for the rather generic logs but it was a bit of a rushed trip so things started to blur into each other.
Took a couple of passes to locate this one just about as I was to give up, but got a good photo of the nearby waterfall as I came around a nearby corner.
Thanks to all the CO's for their contributions, thanks for the cache.

Off to Le Roy's Bush Reserve to find my last Hidden Creature, in between showers. Stopped where I thought was a likely looking place, but the GPS said 29m away, so i continued on. Well worth doing though, because I got to see the lovely waterfall. Back I came to the same, and the GPS was still reading 27m away, but I easily found the excellently camoed cache. TFTC.
I was reading the info out to Mr P when he bent over and retrieved the hide - I was impressed! Master Camo at work again. T4tc
Got a bit worried as we approached this one as our signal started to go but made a quick find here.
Doing a bit of a walk in Le Roys Bush this morning to make a few finds. I had looked for this one on my way towards Gorby's FTF cache, but my GPS was jumping so much I think it might have been on a bit of a Bender itself. Walking back from the opposite direction it indicated that I should look "here", while I was thinking that the better Bender was "there." Tried them both, and this time the GPS was right. Thanks.
Started to feel a bit lost, but turns out we were on the right side. Headed to the nearest corner and spotted something suspicious. Tftc
Tftf with k-adventure. Gps all over the place. Made a lucky stop to asses as map was telling us to cross the stream. Nope there is was
Antother pleasant find during lovely Sunday walk in the area. GPS was dancing here. Found it about 15m from GZ in my device. Hint helps a lot. Great hide! As usual
Travelling from the UK after a break of 4 years & grabbing a few caches along the way.
A quick find by sheer luck, FP added for the cool camo.

This one had us scratching our heads for a while, made more difficult by our GPS bouncing around a bit, but we wouldn’t let Piggy get the better of us and send us on a bender as well so adopted a methodical approach which eventually gave us what we were looking for.
You’ve always got excellent camo G-2 but this one was very impressive and gets a definite favourite point from us.

Walksabit and I are staying in a nearby Airbnb and the owner suggested we go for a walk in LeRoy's Forest. As we had some time before dinner, I suggested we try and find a few caches. We tried to find this cache as we headed into the woods and couldn't find it. We tried again on our return trip and Walksabit spotted the cache. Another great camo job! Thanks for the cache.

New to geocaching but the chance to pick up a couple got me out of the house for my usual walking lap. Did a bit of backtracking due to my phone gps being wildly out under the trees. Was super stoked when I found it. Tftc!!
Last of the Le Roys bush caches for us to collect and today was its lucky day. GPS wanted me on the other side of the stream. Luckily stopped in the right place and quickly spotted the well camo'd hide. TFTC
Out and about this afternoon for a bit of geocaching. Nice weather for it today. After finding some other caches on the new Boardwalk I headed down this way for one more find to end my walk. The GPSr was lagging behind, but based on the cache title I was confident that I was around GZ. Spied something a wee bit out of place and went in for a closer look. Ended up being a quick find following my nose and not the GPSr. Cheers for the cache placement!
We met up early this morning with yorkshirekiwi83 to grab a few of the caches in the area. Mainly, we were tackling the few in Le Roys Reserve, so stragetically parked one car at each end. Vigilantly keeping an eye out, as we didn't want to miss this one and backtrack, we soon found the right bend and the cache was right there. Blends in quite well, can see how it would be easily missed. Nicely done! Thanks for the hide.
Vamber and I decided to do a spot of caching this morning and as North Shore was full of options for both of us decided on this reserve. Parked a car at eitehr end and set off in what was mainly the downhill direction. Read that some people before us missed it as they passed, as we didnt intend on walking back the way we came we were extra vigilant and found it on the first pass, Although the GPS did seem to take us away from the cache at first it came back around. TFTC
Headed out today with Bay7 for some long overdue caching. Had to back track for this one but was well worth it, tftc
We missed this on our way up the Track so made the grab coming back down. This camo was just as good as the last so also deserves a Fav point from us ! TFTC
Struggled with this one as the GPS never got down below 20m, but a slow walk along the track checking a few things and the cache was soon in hand

It dawned a gorgeous days so with time on my hands I decided to go for a walk in a bush that I had visted several times quite a number of years ago due mainly to a magnificient puzzle cache that was spread out throughout the reserve.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Coming home from ferry on foot as my car's in the shop, so thought I'd take the scenic route and pick up a cache on the way.
Spotted this one with no problem as the nearby "Taupo rock" caught my eye. Thanks!

After the rain the weather forecast for the weekend looked very promising. Evilno9, TheMexican and I decided for a late start to get some more sleep in . We placed one car strategically at the end of the path and went off to park at the other end. Enjoying my day so far with great company and great geocaches. TFTC
Carrying on the nice walk in the bush with alpenmilch80 and TheMexican. Like some of the others we initially overshot the mark but didn't take too long to reset and find the nicely hidden cache once we found the right bend. TFTC
A good deal of chatting and catching up saw us walk straight past poor old piggy, but with a quick retrace of steps piggy was soon spotted and put down for a nap after his latest bender.
Yes...what Lynette said !
We sure were talking a lot and not watching our compasses !
Then it was Lynette I believe who turned round and seemed to pluck it out of thin air ! Cool camo Glyn !

GPS was really jump here and we had walked past it (maybe it was three ladies our for a walk and a chat that caused that) and urbangypsy used her magical skills and the cache just appeared. TFTC
So nice walking through this bush mid afternoon. Neat camo, saw another similar item further down the trail. Cheers for bringing me down this way.
Good camo yet again, nice to have these well crafted caches in close proximaty, nice place for a stroll and a cache or two.
Another one we missed on the way there-gps was having a bad day but after checking all bends as we returned we found the well concealed cache.
Met up with Geocchi, Pazza, Merlot58, Aidan29 & Bertie Blowfish plus 4 dogs for a walk in Le Roy's bush. We signed in as "Sting Op" - thanks to Merlot's recent wasp stings. We spread out and checked the corners. Found the coords for this cache were a little bit out, and that there was no need to leave the path to find this well camo'd cache.
Operation Sting had some trouble with this one but maybe because Mrs Jag50 has had some previous experience with a few 'benders', we won out in the end. My Gps was 30mts out on this one. A cunning G-2 hide worthy of a f/p.
Out for the day with a large group of cachers to get the new caches in this lovely reserve. We have signed as Sting Op as a salute to my recent misfortune with angry wasps. This one took us some time finding the right bend but the clever camo didn't elude Mrs Jag. My co-ords said I should be 24m over the other side of the creek though
Met up with a few Westies (merlot58, Jag50, Bertie Blowfish, Pazzabella and Geocchi, as well as a muggle and four geodogs). Log was signed as Sting-Op due to Merlot's affinity for wasp stings recently . We searched all the corners of this area of the trail. Eventually Mrs Jag50 located the well camo'd cache.
Part of the Westie crew signing as Sting Op.
We wandered past this one initially, as co-ords seemed to be out maybe 20m or so. But returned to the most likely looking spot on re-reading the hint, and Mrs Jag50s eagle eyes soon picked out the very well camo'd cache. (I'd looked and walked around it several times, without spotting it!) Great camo...it's a FP

After heading to my cache dedicated to moi, me and that FMZ zealot came here. I was worried when we got here, the bends we saw were way past GZ but we had a search anyway just in case the GPS might be having a hissy fit. Nothing was being revealed so we came down a bit and a far lesser bend became a little obvious and that was where FMZ found the cache! very clever camo G! Surely a FP from me.

Piggy has a few benders around here, and picking the right bend nearly drove us around the bend, but we bent to the will of the CO and the right bend was found in the end. [FTF] #2062 TFTC!!! FP+
