CITO'd 2 cans and 2 bottles from the ivy in a fruitless attempt to find this one. Coordinates point to the middle of the road, so not a lot of help!
That took quite a bit of searching and reasoning to suss, but got there in the end. TFTC and the break as I start my long journey south.
I was trying to apply the hint in the wrong place. My GPSr was pointing a bit away, so I followed it right to the cx. TFTC.
Navigate took us right to it, wasn't sure what size we were looking for, but quick find Tftc
Found with bkj97 en route to Napier. He was onto this quicker than usual with this sort of location. T4tcsl
Found with little blue hen on our way to napier. Luckily we spotted the hide as it could have been a long search. Tftcsl
Since I was staying in Waipukurau, I thought I should at least try to find a geocache in the town. Generally, I don't really like these types of hide but, in this case, there were few likely hiding places. Also, there was a lot less traffic than in some other locations where I have tried to find caches in such locations. All was good with the cache and I soon moved on to my next site.
#12,320. Parked and walked along Racecourse Road in Waipukurau. Fortunately, GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Found after quite a bit of searching. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

We are on our summer holiday, we usually take a few weeks and travel around the South Island, but this year we are heading around the North Island. Heading up the West coast and back down the East coast. Finding only a select few caches along the way, we are mostly targeting some challenges we have qualified for, some large size caches, some that fill gaps in our date placed grid, a few D/T combinations, some with lots of favourite points, letterboxes and anything else that grabs our fancy.
I had a fall on day two of our holiday, while out geocaching which has resulted in a fractured bone in my leg and I am in a moon boot and with crutches and I was told to keep weight off my leg. So I am only limited use when it comes to our trip now. I tend to stay in the campervan and just hand out suggestions of when and where GK should search.
We searched where others have searched before us and did not find it. We decided to go and find the other nearby cache instead. As we were pulling away I noticed a wee something that looked like it needed investigating some more, ah well not to be.
But then we ended up driving along this road again so I asked gk to stop and told him what I had spotted earlier. Sure enough there was the cache and with its nice new log there was plenty of room to sign. That was nice fast maintenance.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley.

I decided to use the opportunity of having a quiet few days off work over Xmas to drive over to the Hawkes Bay in order to be a cacher in that region for the first time.
By now I was making my way homewards after a long day, but there's always time to stop and look for another cache lol!
There were only a few people around today so I was able to conduct my search in relative ease. It only took a moment of hunting around before I made the find as the cache was nicely hidden away in accordance with the Hint. On opening the container, I found just 1 available space left on the log which I filled before the whole lot was replaced back where I found it.
Thanks for setting this cache up, and I wish you a happy and prosperous 2021

Thanks for the cache. Found it this time pretty easy really. Don't understand though what the clue is supposed to mean.
We were heading to Porongahau but there was a very large transporter ahead with a queue behind it so a caching we went. Thanks for bringing us here.
Tried both sides of the road to no avail. It was stinking hot so I gave up. Co-ords are on middle of road.
Made a quick detour to grab this cache while I was heading back to Wellington after a weekend in Hawke's Bay. Quick find.

Found while driving through from a visit to Taradale after a few days in Waipukurau cycling in the area. Lots of quiet scenic roads and manageable hills Thanks for the cache

On a little roadie, and finding a couple of caches on the way, Drove past coords, and thought this might take a bit of time to find. I must have had my caching mojo going. Cache found, log signed in no time. Cache placed back as found. Cheers

Heading to the Hawkes Bay to collect the TMGT caches having completed the South Island ones in 2.5 days, we took a quick break here to stretch our legs. Once we had sorted the hint we quickly located the cache and were off on our way again. TFTC

Plans this weekend was to travel to Waiarapa. This is an area we really have only scraped the surface with a few caches.
So many puzzles, multi's and traditional caches in area. Weather not looking good, but this is caching.
Left Rotorua about 5.30pm and plans were to be in Waipukurau over night. Arrived about 9.15pm found digs for the night and settled in so why not now grab a few caches beofore the end of this day.
I had planned our travel map for this weekend, solved heaps of puzzles and some multi's.
I was the driver and Squirrel Nutcase was the navigator and logger of cache info. SLogsTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)...
We have been planning for Queen's Birthday weekend for some time - routes and caches were identified and mapped, and Gap solved a whole lot of puzzles in readiness for this adventure. We scoured many online logs and took note of the condition of the caches and their logbooks. We determined to replace any containers and logbooks where there was a dire need - This is not usually our habit and is quite time consuming; but we are enthusiastic cachers and believe in doing our bit for the wider caching community...
We arrived in Waipukurau after 9 PM and headed straight for our accommodation. Once we had settled in, we made a short list of caches to visit tonight.. the outside air temperature was cold, helped along by a biting wind coming off the ranges... We set up to look for this cache and found ourselves wandering up and down the roadside. Several cars sped by, including the local policeman. Our iPhone gps took us to a fairly specific spot - not that iPhones are by any means accurate and reliable; but the cache was found a few metres away... Thanks hot rods 2005 - TFTC.

very easy find today as we passed through town
We are away in our campervan just cruising the manawatu to Waiarapa then on to Hawkes Bay and return. During our tour we enjoyed travelling the quiet roads away from the main state highways. we enjoyed the bike trails around the Napier to Clifton and the inland trails up to Hastings and beyond, many of these trails of course were extra special because they had geocaches placed along them. Many thanks to all those who look after the caches. We hope you enjoy the same when you come into our area.
Sorry about the cut and paste if you have more than one geocache that we had found

Love my gps sometimes grrr easy find !! police vehicle drove past and had a slow down lol
Cache was nicely tucked in there. Lots of muggles about which hampered our search efforts, but we persevered and eventually rewarded with the find. Thanks for the cache.
Hard to find as the hint is hard to follow, but persistance paid off (the area is pretty overgrown)

Sadly yet another DNF on a difficulty 1 cache. No guidance on where to look, a very wide search area meant a lengthy search and DNF. If this had been rated correctly, I could have saved a trip.
Down in the area for a rest with friends and for some caching. The are some interesting caches to be found. TFTC
I'm in Hawke's Bay for the day for a work event. However that only took up the morning, so the afternoon is my own so what to do but get a few caches before heading back home to Palmerston North.
heading back towards Palmerston North now and I've identified a pocket of half a dozen caches around Waipawa, Waipukarau and Takapau that I want to focus on for the trip home.
I have visited this cache previously when I first started caching and was bounced from one side of the road to the other. I don't know why I haven't tried it again on one of my many trips through the area, but thankfully I haven't as its one more cache for the Hidden Creatures challenge. No trouble with GPS bounce today and the cache is quickly found. TFTC

Underestimated the distance when parking the car, so had an unexpected leg-stretch! Lucky we found the cache!TFTC
Heading home after visiting Napier for an 'unplanned event'. Breaking the trip regularly with cache stops.
We approached this from the wrong direction and ended up pn the wrong side of the road. Once we realised that, the find was straightforward. TFTC.

Staying the night just round the corner. Took a while to work out what was first so that we could work out the third and fourth. Got there in the end. TFTC
A nice and quick find. Cheers.
We are on the way to Masterton today, taking the roads less travelled, at least for part of the journey.
Thanks to all of the COs for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Found it. Staying at Ashcott Homestead decided that we needed to buy toothpaste, so we drove to Waipukurau to get some. Couldn’t resist to get a cache on the way parked in short distance from it. Quick grab, the hint was great. Signed it woth TR71 to save space. Tftc
#5114. Its the longest day of the year and I am planning a big caching day. Spent the night in Hastings at the local holiday park and now doing a few Hastings caches before heading south via Route 52 to Masterton and then back to Wellington. The plan is to find at least 70-80 caches today so I can get my numbers up for the bulk find component of the DGSC challenge (1500 needed in a year). Part of a blitz to try and get an additional 200 caches found by Boxing Day. I have done 82 in past 2 days driving from Auckland to Hawkes Bay. Heading south again. Fairly quick find here. Was able to park close by. Signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache hot rods 2005.
