Had a bit of a challenge here as I was interpreting the hint to accurately. After a while I looked at another aspect of the hint, and followed that line of investigation, and that bore fruit.

Cacheing with my buddy bike, Bluebell on our way after an appointment and taking the long way home. Getting a lot better at spotting on my own and I love the reward of a cute find and the effort that has gone into making and placing it. Also love not having to juggle muggles on such a popular track….gotta love Auckland in the holidays.
Out today, for a nice walk after lunch, and after having some luck at another cache I decided to attempt this one again.
I had struggled with this one before, no surprise as for a lot of it I was searching in the wrong place. Today I was determined to find it. I had to use the hint I admit and then even then finding the cache was not so simple. I ended up with something in hand, but then noticed something crucial was missing. After lots of rummaging around I soon had the cache in hand, and signed. I put it all back in a way that hopefully that is less likely to happen. #1277

That was one of the teeniest tiniest caches we've found and one of the most well camouflaged! If the hints hadn't been read we would NEVER have known it was there. Well done G_2. Thanks as always!
Missed one completely as I passed (to get on return) so headed up here for this track-end (for now) option. Headed through the gate and cleaned up anyway then back though again with another spray and a proper look. After a while I spotted one wooden't you believe it option, I didn't and spotted something else. Ah , the cache. All good here and replaced as found, including the wooden't option.
A new day, and a new set of targets and goals to try and meet. Have been to some parts of the trail(s) in the past but not caching. Back today to make the finds and sign the logs. A few out Onepoto way, as well as some along the trails out towards Birkenhead and finished at the Sugar factory. Thanks to all COs for their hides and the fun.
I was out caching for the first 3 days of this week, racking up over 12kms walked on each of the three days, and getting healthy double-figure hauls in the process too. In line with the NZ Geocache Reviewers guidance on what Covid Level 3, Part 1 looks like, geocaching is permitted but not events or any new listings. It seems the NZ Covid website has failed to maintain pace with Lockdown level amendments and changes and is still lumping Geocaching in with Orienteering and other gathering type activities. A couple days ago I saw G_2's note on Facebook which made me realise-- there are so many of his caches out there, many I have yet to find, and I'd love to try and find as many as I can just in case the CO decides to archive them. Not expecting to get them all since there are hundreds and some are too devious for me... but there's nothing lost by trying
Had this morning free so went for a very nice walk around Birkenhead and into Le Roys Bush. I had tried this one months ago with a lot less geosense and a lot less time, so didn't find anything back then. This time it was a quick find. Came prepared to replace the log if needed but there is one still in there and still dry. All good here, TFTC (& thanks to the reviewers, too)

I looked for this one a while back but no luck. Obviously there is more information in the hint now as I found it easily this time thanks to that hint. It’s a cute wee thing. Needs a new log though. Tftc
Came back today to turn the frown upside down but I was very lucky that I managed to find the cache! Found the container but no log? Searched all the leaf litter and there was the wee log! Thanks to all the reviewers who do such a great job! TFTC
Previously looked at attempting this and had about 3 DNF's that I recall, I was determined NOT to ask the CO of use PAF options in locating this cache- I was tempted many times before but always resisted. Today was on a mission to nab seven aches including five previous DNF's ahmm all the DNF's were from this CO. Well this was the first cache of the day and happy to say I didnt need any of the abovementioned assistance which always makes it even better. Very well constructed cache and co ord pretty damn close. A nice tribute so THANKS to the reviewers and the CO's that make caches including the quality of these hides.
SL...thankfully. 1 from one and a previous DNF sorted.
Cheers

Looked for a while for this one. I spotted a few odd things like camoed tape and a lid on top of a pole which no other pole has but just can't figure it out. Will have to come back
Spent quite a bit of time searching here but we were not going to give up! Bingo found it. Great camo as per usual.
Thanks for placing the cache G-2.
Find number 4500.
Log signed b&p.

I had spectacular DNF 2 years ago here. We celebrated "Thank a Volunteer Day" so this hide came back to my head. Decided to give a try one more time. New thing near GZ is a nice footwear cleaning station. Did not know what to expect. After several minutes focused on something matching the hint in a bit different way and spotted it!. I was thinking I know a bit CO hides."A bit" ... I had to reset my thinking. One world. WOW. Great hide. Thanks!
Spurred on by CO recently checking this cache was still there, so took my time. Looked for a while & finally came up with a smiley. Great camo. TFTC
No luck today. I’m sure it must be there though. Maybe it was the rain but this was a post-Zumba hunt without a catch. Better luck another time!
I'm coming to get u... DNF last weekend and not my first but u will be claimed today! In around 2 hrs from now I hope.
Started out at 3.30 in the morning (all good plans start when it's dark!) The drive north was fantastic, virtually no traffic all the way through Auckland to the North Shore and in the company of Cats & Dragon's. We found our first cache at 4.30am and cached hard out untill lunch time. The weather held out for us, with the occasional lite drizzle. A fantastic day, over 60 finds a few DNF and a big hole put in the area.
Thanks to all the CO's who placed their cache for us to find and thanks for the great day!

Today was a chance to head out in the company of McCutchen Cache Clan for a little bit of a hit out around Takapuna and Northcote/Highbury areas. So trying to make the most of the day (and in that what I really mean is to avoid both people and traffic as much as possible. We headed up early and were actually caching just before 5am and were all over by noon so that we could get home to our families.
All Logs signed as "MCD" to conserve logbook space
Having set myself a couple of personal caching goal for the year (or at least whats left of it) I thought I had better crack into it and start collecting so that hopefully the last 6 months of the years is far more productive than the first 6 months.
All in all a great morning was had and we managed to stay dry. Not too many DNF's, a couple of unattempted's as not able to get to them and plenty of founds. A few of the gully's that we traversed were very muddy and so was suitably grateful for the decision to bring the tramping boots to keep the feet dry.
Great collection of caches and some very clever camouflage by the usual suspects. So all in all 65 successful finds today with what the time allowed. I apologize for the rather generic logs but it was a bit of a rushed trip so things started to blur into each other.
Yes they are defiantly worth a tribute and this took me way longer than it should have
Thanks to all the CO's for their contributions, thanks for the cache.

Spent some time searching for this one and was even about to give up.had previously looked over the cache container but missed it completely went back to it and on closer inspection there it was.enjoyed the challenge of this hide and we are glad to have found it.
We wanted to boost our finds tally for this date, so I took a break from work this morning and headed to Le Roys Bush. Walked to where Leonardo's Legacy once started, thinking that this one might be in the same tree, then looked at the GPS. Backtracked slightly and began looking for this Tribute, but failed to find anything. I had given up and started walking on towards the bush, when I spotted something out of the corner of my eye. Looked closely, then turned it over to discover the cache. Very nicely done. Thanks.
After completing some home chores in the morning we decided to reward ourselves with a few caches in the afternoon. We set off from home with Beach Haven in mind stopping for a few easy and not so easy park and grabs. Had lots of fun today exploring some new parks, beaches and bus stops and enjoyed the many different hides from the CO's today.
This was our first cache of the day and as we contemplated a few items, a gaggle of muggles and their muggle dogs descended on us rather enthusiastically, giving both of us a fright! After saying hello to all of the pooches we continued our search and MrsNZT came up trumps with the crafty hide, after MrNZT had dismissed the cache container earlier! Can't fool MrsNZT, she's onto you G-2!! Fav for the craftmanship here. TFTC!

Three cheers for the reviewers.
I knew enough to be looking for something out of the ordinary. As I worked the area, things looked normal until I spotted... TFTC.

Had a good look here, but no luck for me - even with the presence of a previous finder.
Well first and only DNF here today. Gave up after about 20minutes in the area of GZ. Had also some strange experience with my GPS device satellite signal went bananas and was bouncing between 500km! to 45m from GZ. I had to switch off GLONAS receiver for a while otherwise will be end of geocaching today for me ....
No luck for us today, though we searched pretty well but it is G-2 and a 2.5 difficulty with a lot of fp so guess it's possible we missed it. Will stop by again one day (:
We thought we knew what type of hide this would be but couldn’t have been more wrong. After checking what we thought would be likely hiding spots and coming up empty handed we expanded our search criteria and made the find.
An absolutely fantastic camo job G-2, we never know what to expect and are never disappointed.
Most definitely a favourite point.

Very sneaky hide that took us quite a while, I admit looking at the photo of a previous finder to help us figure it out, very nice indeed, TFTC
Out and about on a splendid day of winter for a spot of caching fun. I parked up on a side street, crossed the main road and took the trail head to GZ. The GPSr didn't have a chance to settle down as I quickly spied a likely GZ. A closer look was encouraging with further inspection confirming the find. A very nicely constructed hide. Cheers for the cache placement!
We met up early this morning with yorkshirekiwi83 to grab a few of the caches in the area. Mainly, we were tackling the few in Le Roys Reserve, so stragetically parked one car at each end. Quickly made this find, no problems here. Thanks for the hide!
Vamber and I decided to do a spot of caching this morning and as North Shore was full of options for both of us decided on this reserve. Parked a car at eitehr end and set off in what was mainly the downhill direction. This one required a bit of uphill climb, but only because of the direction we started in. Soon had the cache in hand. TFTC
Following an unsuccessful night look it was time to do this in daylight. Neat cache really well hidden. Probably went past it multiple times and had it in hand more than once. Classically engineered. Gets a fav. Tftc
We spent the morning doing maintenance on our nearby caches. We enjoyed ourselves walking through the bush at Birkenhead & Eskdale domain. Swung by here afterwards to collect our daily. Quick find. Another great camo job. TFTC
Dropped by on my way home from work to convert my previous DNF into a smile. As always, great camo - thanks!
Headed out today with Bay7 for some long overdue caching, as we spread out along the fence line here with no luck I spotted something of interest, nice! Cool camo once again G-2. Fav point , Tftc
Back & forth a few times along the fence line before this great camo was spotted !! A Fav point from us.
Third and final cache on the list for my girls and me this morning, and our second DNF! The youngest Tregonning was getting a bit grumbly, so we'll need to continue this search another day.
It dawned a gorgeous days so with time on my hands I decided to go for a walk in a bush that I had visted several times quite a number of years ago due mainly to a magnificient puzzle cache that was spread out throughout the reserve.
This one had me going for a while, in fact, I used the PAF card but as I was awaiting the reply I put my hands on it. Doesn't it always happen that way.
Cheers for the cache.

After the rain the weather forecast for the weekend looked very promising. Evilno9, TheMexican and I decided for a late start to get some more sleep in . We placed one car strategically at the end of the path and went off to park at the other end. Very well done camo on this one. TFTC
Back today to get the rest of the caches in this lovely reserve. Not sure how I missed this one yesterday, but gave up to easily with all the muggle foot traffic. Had another think about it today, and something stood out this time. Very cool camo, gets a FP, thanks
Good to have a80's eagle eyes on the job here as we could have been a while otherwise, but luckily she made a quick find while TheMexican and I looked elsewhere and we were soon on our way again. TFTC
Beautiful day to be out caching with Supernanny and Teamwelsh, this was the first find in this beautiful reserve. Teamwelsh made a quick find. Excellent tribute to those who work hard behind the scenes.
Had arranged to met up with Urbangypsy and Supernanny today for a different walk but after all the rain we decided it was safer to stick to a slightly more urban walk with maintained paths. This was our first of the walk and was great to see the level of camo we have come to expect from the master. TFTC
A great cache to salute the reviewers-took a while-almost dismissed this-but a closer inspection revealed the cache
Met up with Geocchi, Pazza, Merlot58, Aidan29 & Bertie Blowfish plus 4 dogs for a walk in Le Roy's bush. We signed in as "Sting Op" - thanks to Merlot's recent wasp stings. Thank you to the Reviewers and CO's for all their efforts. This was a cunning hide and earns a FP from us.
The reviewers do indeed deserve recognition for all that background work that goes on behind the scenes. Good on them for taking on such a big unpaid job! Where would we be without them? Great work G-2 also!
Out for the day with a large group of cachers to get the new caches in this lovely reserve. We have signed as Sting Op as a salute to my recent misfortune with angry wasps. A great tribute to all those unpaid reviewers. And we bumped into Handyandyman and his wife who were just starting the walk from the top end on our way to this one. Nice to meet you
Met up with a few Westies (merlot58, Jag50, Bertie Blowfish, Pazzabella and Geocchi, as well as a muggle and four geodogs). Log was signed as Sting-Op due to Merlot's affinity for wasp stings recently . A couple of times up and down the path and I finally zero'd in on a spot that was worthy of further investigation. I found something that if not looking closely I would have overlooked the cache. Another great hide worthy of a tribute to the tireless work the reviewers do. Also a fav.
Part of the Westie crew signing as Sting Op. All of us very appreciative of the great work done by the reviewers.
Aidan was on to it here, with a fairly quick find of another fabulous G-2 camo - definitely a FP!

Suitably tricky hide to honour the reviewers. The things they must read when you're trying to explain your hides in your reviewer notes.
Took us a wee while to find this one, up and down the path. Then had a wee think about where a cache might get put and zeroed in on a spot. Missed it on the first go but with a little more attentiveness came up with it. Very clever, as usual, impressive. Thanks for the cache and of course, thanks to all of the reviewers. Had quite a bit of help from them over the last month or so especially with a multi. Very grateful for everything they do.

FMZ and I had a big session of {FTF}'s last night and thought that was that for quite some time... but NO... wait... there was more. Quite a few more caches on offer. So I shot around to his place and picked him up, he sat in the passenger seat and navigated the direction of our first attack on these caches tonight. This was the first one. I left the GPS in the car thinking Chris could find GZ with my mobile, but it did jump around and just when I thought this was taking too long and I'd walk back to the car to get the GPS, he called out that he found it, very well disguised at it would need to be down such a walkway. Nice camo job G. Nice to have another FTF too!
For me, Curglaff has been the main stay of my caching career for the last 3 years since I have been caching. Thanks Richard for your hard work.

Gorby's phone was playing up here so took a minute or two to get into the right spot, but then, well, this is a typical G2 masterpiece of a cache container. very nice. [FTF] #2056 TFTC!!! FP+
