Heading away for a weekend of football, geocaching, Parkrun and a mountain hike along the AAWT (Australian Alps Walking Track) with fellow geocacher The Blind Side. We decided to grab one on the way from Shepparton to Lilydale and this one was close to the road so we parked and used the lights on our phones to get to gz. Thankfully found in an obvious spot. Nice hide TFTC
Heading to Lilydale for the night thought I'd grab one on the way and this one on was a quick park and grab even tho it was dark. Found in an obv spot. TFTC

Without bikes we have to tackle caches along this trail on foot. Fortunately this was a short walk and a quick find. We spotted a very flighty small bird nearby with a splash of pink - maybe a rose robin. Thanks to Obi-Wan for the cache.
Decided today was a great day to get out, enjoy the sunshine and do the rail trail series and others heading towards Yea. I cheated and did it via my geo car as I had to work in the afternoon. Anyway had some great finds and totally enjoyed my day out.
Love the Star Wars caches they were fantastic, although I did have to use the force climbing a few hills to get up to the bike trail. TFTC

That’s the first time I’ve ever met a storm trooper. Thanks for the hide. Love the container.
Out and about on Sunday with the family on the rail trail. Family was on their bikes which left me to run some of the trail. 7km out and the same back, so a kinda pleasant run. Took 90 mins all up including stopping for the finds, was a manic adventure and today my legs are certainly sore. Family seemed to enjoy the adventure apart from complaining about the hills! Seriously! try running them! Thanks for the fun. Looking forward to getting back to run another section. Quick find on this one, off to a good start.

With GPS not working it was a good thing that the force was on our side and that we were able to identify the GZ just by using our geosenses!
My little Storm Troopers and I found the cache quite quickly. Thanks for the interesting cache
On our way home from Bonnie Doon, we stopped for this quick find. Thanks Obi-Wan
I found this one while passing through the area on my hover speeder bike (I wish).
Parked on the roadside, then with a little help from the force, I spied a likely spot. Sure enough the cache was soon in hand.
Signed the log, returned this storm trooper to his place of confinement and off again on my speeder!!!
May the force be with you!
Thanks Obi-wan for the fun cache.

We succeeded in the task of stopping the Storm Trooper in his tracks - our light sabre cut his head in half and so we were able to reach the vital log book in order to register our success! Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
Found with akpa5 and akpa6. The dark side had found cache and parts of it were spread around. Reassembled and put some paper in it to write on
These bike paths are all over the place these days and very useful for placing lots of geocaches along to encourage people to get out and active. I found a scary cache container halfway up the track from the road. It was an easy cache to find and access to it was good from the road below because you could park fairly safely near the path just off the road.
Found after starting a multi cache just a little way down the road, and seeing a brown snake rear up in preparation to attack, we both ran for out lives. So we were very cautious walking up to this cache, and there were ants on the track and my friend threw the cache at me because she thought there was something on it.
Saw that this one might be close enough to the road to grab on our way past.
Turned out to be an easy one, so thanks for the placement.

I tried so hard to find this without going where the device suggested I should go, but in the end I had to go there and Voila, the cache was in hand. tftc.

Found by torchlight as we slowly make our way home.
A wonderful day spent with GemmaSistema as we traveled from our homes to Kyneton before jumping in together to continue to Alexandra and the Mega event, a loooong day as we managed a huge collection of cache types, caught up with friends, explored an area I had not visited before and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! I love seeing the flags popping up and getting random toots from fellow cachers passing by as you are knee deep in a bush.
Thanks to everyone for their contributions! Looking forward to the next one!

Found in the dark on the way home from mega.
I wasn't sure if I could attend Mega this year with lots of other things happening in life but a plan was hatched close to the date with becca85 to leave the kids at home and do a girls day trip. My day started with leaving home not too long after 6am and meeting Bec en route. From here we travelled stopping for only one cache before hitting the "mega zone".
We caught up with people at all the events, and at caches which is always nice as you get to meet so many different folk from all around Australia. We found some really awesome gadgets caches (which we are bad at), some amazing scenery which I really want to bring the family back to, and we laughed all day long.
I had a fabulous day clocking up plenty of finds. Thanks so much to everyone who contributed to the day. The cache owners, organisers, volunteers, and my geo friends who helped me with puzzle solving before the event! Thanks a million - love the geocaching community. See you all in 2018!

Great to be over this side of the ditch for a few days with my key focus being the Mega in Alexandra and associated activities. I’ll be taking some ideas back to New Zealand so as we plan for a major Event next year we can look to implement some of the great things from Melbourne.
Did you know that planning has started for a major Event in the Wellington region in 2018? Check out the details on the [Wellington Event NZ (WENZ) Website](https://sites.google.com/site/wenzgeo2018/home) or visit the event’s page on [FaceBook](https://www.facebook.com/groups/590545297801072/). The official cache page is now live [GC78NMQ - WENZ Event 2018](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC78NMQ_wenz-event-2018-wellington). If you are planning to attend, please ensure you let us know through this page.
Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn’t be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU.

We decided that it was time to do some bike riding north of the divide and revisit the Tallarook Mansfield rail trail in the Tawool section where more caches had appeared since we had travelled on it a year or so back. This was a short run to GZ and a quick search revealed the SW cache at 15:20. We noted that the track crosses the road not far beyond and it was a logical point to turn back- only 15 km to the car. Thanks Obi-Wan
Beautiful sunny day for caching along these road and exploring beautiful place.
Lots birds out there.

On a ride with some friends on their way to points further north for a few days. Yea was as far as I was going today, so took the opportunity to pick up a few caches on the way home. I worked out roughly where this one should be along the way before I left Yea and, by careful observation (spelled l-u-c-k) stopped by bike very close to GZ. Quick gathering of bearings, a quick bit of ignoring where my iPhone was telling me to go and a look in the logical place. The Geocaching Force was strong in me today and I had the cache in hand very quickly.
The cache is in good condition.

Arrived in town this evening and decided to grab some caches before heading for the trail tomorrow, this was one of several, some of these were straight forwards and other were a little more challenging, over all we collected all we were after, lovely area, there were loads of little spiders and butterflies spotted. the weather cooled down by the time we arrived so it was rather pleasant. TFTC
Coming up to the corner by vehicle, we realised this cache was quite close to the road and we were able to park safely. Speaking of storms - it just began to rain lightly as we got out to SL at 4.25pm. We are making our way home to Wangaratta after spending the weekend in the Phillip Island area. Taking the scenic route and discovering a new cache or two along the way. #4264 TFTC ScattsMadhouse
