It's time to say goodbye to the Orphan, the hiding place is no longer suitable.
Walking around this area this afternoon collecting caches.Stopped to look for this but then saw the note that it needed replacing.
The tree appears to be dying so we have rescued the cache in case the council remove it. Will have it back in place asap.
Kids were too smart. Got it fast and great way to get them interested in finding more. Cheers
Made a quick find on this one as we headed back to the car. This was a pretty straight forward one but not a bad spot
Headed out to grab a few caches in the area, needing to walk the dog, so decided to brave the weather and make the most of the outing at the same time. The rain started falling particularly heavy at this point, so one of us stayed under cover with the canine, waiting for the shower to pass, while the other grabbed the cache. Thanks for the hide here.
Quick easy find! Unfortunately some dirty pos had let their dog poo next to the tree so beware
No real plans made for today but Auckland was the place to go.
We still have in excess of 2,000 caches in area to find and log so this is going to take some time to complete.
Spur of the moment and teamed up with ABCDF4,Eyespyben & Squirrel Nutcase.
Thought we would hit one area and try to clean it up. Apart from one cache that is disabled, think we got the rest plus a few outer lying caches on way home.
All caches signed as Team HRP (Huntly,Rotorua,Papamoa) This being our home towns.
Thanks to cache owners for their placements. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap), ABCDF4, and eyespyben... All logs were signed Team H (Huntly) R (Rotorua) P (Papamoa).
Our original plan was to complete the Hakarimata Northern Walkway this weekend. However, the weather deteriorated and we chickened out... An alternative was suggested by our Huntly friends - Let's go up to Highbrook (Auckland). It seems that this location is getting a lot of attention at the moment, with a lot of new placements in the area.
It was mid afternoon when we stopped for lunch. The break recharged our batteries and we decided to look at a new suburb to cache attack... Burswood looked good, and it was just over the road from Highbrook... Wow! This is a brave hide, as there are not a lot of options... TFTC.

We were in the area today and noticed this cache had been replaced. Whilst searching for the cache we found an empty bird nest higher in the tree, and soon after found the camo'd cache. Pleased to turn this frown upside down.
We'd searched for this cache nearly 2 years ago but it was missing. As we were in the area we returned and made a nice quick find
Where chilling and the thought to go out and log a few geocaches which we had planed a while ago. Bi the first one we got lucky..Nöggi2 had the gps and I the good eyes .First he showed me the wrong spot and when you look from the right angle on the right place then you might be able to spot thta sneaky one .thank you for this one as i had not found a few for some days before Nöggi2 ..13 is my lucky number !!!
I'm from Switzerland and spend 4 months in New Zealand on vacation. Found this cache after a few minutes search, thanks.
This orphan is certainly trying its best to spread the festive cheer with a display. A reasonably quick find today, although I did have to make a complete circuit of the tree before I spotted the cache which wasn't where I was kinda expecting it to be.
But I was very happy to be able to sign the log etc as the last time I was here it had been shortly after torrential rain and I hadn't given it much of a look before ending up going for a different cache to get my find for the day.
Thank you for bringing me here, and happy holidays

We found one of Aunty and Uncle Coblet’s. Whoop whoop! Here’s to many more to come
Yay! Came here to get the third to find for the new cache ‘butterfly creek’ by the Coblets and then found this and a few others. Thanks Uncle Sam and the Coblets for this fun adventure with Cachewnut today! I really enjoyed that!
Found today:
•Uncle Sam between 2 trees
•Butterfly Creek
•The Orphan of Burswood

Third attempt and I found it and even met the cache owners when they spied me lurking around. Nice to meet you guys
I had to attend some staff training in Botany this morning, so afterwards took advantage of being over here to do a spot of caching.
Parked quite close to this lonely Orphan, but had to wait for a local to wander by before starting the search. Did not take long once I could move into position. Thanks.

Great weather for a little Geocaching Tour! I could spot a couple of Caches in the area around Burswood.
I was looking for a while without success and thought it must be gone. Finally found it hidden different than my expectations were.
Thanks for hiding!

Afternoon dash for our daily cache before the heavens open up. Looking for a quick park n grab and not disappointed here. All good. The rain started chucking it down a few minutes after we left TFTC
A fantastic day out cacher hunting with the family, cache and log in good condition, thank you for placing the cache
A fairly quick find but did take us a couple of minutes as the cache really does blend in with its surroundings. Thanks!
Wow for the simple camo, this really blends in very well! Glad for an easy enough park and grab (after a short look haha) to keep our streak going. Tftc
Took longer than it should have done. Too many muggles around last time i came. Found and replaced. Very good camo.
A morning stop here before work. School holidays, so a little quiet, and not many houses directly overlooking this spot, making the hunt a little easier, and less embarrassing. I have a dislike for peering into foliage so close to roads, but fortunately this nicely camo’d hide was quickly spotted. Signed and returned. TFTC
Second find of the afternoon and a lot quicker than the first! Loving the fact it's on the only dry ground in the park too! TFTC.
Was caching with TF on this wet drizzly Saturday. Had a hit list of a few caches and this was one of them. No problems here. TFTC
Out and about with TW grabbing a few puzzles, multis and drivebys in the rain. Thanks.
Found the orphan, and with 3 sets of eyes we thoroughly scoured up high and low, even investigating the empty birds nest, all to no avail.
Checked the Orphan and the cache has disappeared.
Replaced with a new container and log.

Teamed up with Aiden29 and Merlot58, we headed towards the orphan. After a thorough search, we could not locate this cache.
Day 42 of a 50 day caching streak done as part of my current geolicence The weather wasn't the best today so I needed a quick grab. I took the kids to this park so they could have a quick play to burn off some energy while I found the cache. Luckily there weren't any muggles around so it made for an easy search, TFTC!
I felt very conspicuous looking for this one, fortunately it didn't take too long. Thanks
After work and before dinner I had time to find a few caches. I also spotted the birds nest. Checked the hint. Lowered my sights. Spotted the cache. All good. TFTC, Biggles.
Unfortunately I found it having previously looked in the birds nest with disastrous results.

Nice quick find today.... decided a walk was in order as it was a gorgeous day and I had a bit of time to kill. There were a couple of muggles at the playground but as it wasn't too close, and I spotted it right away, I wasn't worried about scaring anybody by acting dodgy at a playground
TFTC!!!

As I had an early lunch break today and happened to be in the Burswood area, I decided to see if there were any caches up for grabs. So in the midst of a complete downpour, I parked up very close to GZ and had to wait for a couple of muggles to hurry past in the wet. But as I did, it stopped raining and so I could approach the cache area in relative dryness. It took me a little longer than expected, but I soon had the cache in hand, took it back to the car... signed and returned just in time to avoid some more muggles coming down the path. Thanks TheCoblets for taking the time to set this one up. Much appreciated on a typical fine/wet/fine East Auckland day. TFTC.
Just got my hand on it when the heavens opened. Soaked in the short dart back to the car. TFTC
Out and about this afternoon running a few errands. Might as well grab some hides while I am at it. I parked up near GZ and made the short walk to GZ. I spotted the hide immediately for a super quick find. Off to the next. Cheers for the cache placement!
Quickest Park and Grab ever !
Only about 10 paces from car !
Thanks !
Playground looks nice too....

Miss Davieland is at a party in the area so though I'd pick up a few local caches. Nice quick find. Log duly signed and cache returned. TFTC.
Still pursuing our daily streak and needed a cache of the day.
We had our owner at work and she insisted on taking everyone out for dinner and she is REALLY great company so we all went.
It was quiet late when I left and still needing a cache of the day to continue our streak I had attempted a nearby cache but had dnfd it.
Checked my maps and this was the next closest and it seemed to have been found recently. Made a beeline for GZ and parked close by.
Made a very quick find thankfully!!
Now to get home pack my bag ready to head to Wellington for work. Thank goodness I booked an 8 am flight and not the 6 am one!!!!!!

Few muggles in this are were watching me suspisiously but tried to look as innocent as possible. Once the cache was found and log was being signed a second round of scrutiny was underway as the neighbours walked out of their house; cache replaced quickly and I was on my way. TFTC.
Nice quick lunchtime find while having to be a tad stealthfulL cos of lawnmowing contractors nearby. TFTC
This one came out while we were at the Geocaching Bowling event...but glad Keylev got the FTF on that one....she was too tired to go bowling, but not too tired for a FTF! :-p
Very quick find today.
Very quick find today.
Out walking in the pouring rain early today heading for this cache. Got to GZ and made a quick find. Log & bag were really jammed in the container so a little hard to extract. Got there in the end. TFTC
Thought I'd grab this cache on the way home from the gym this morning, as its in a handy location.
