After using Longreach as a base for a few days, we headed east this morning to get to Emerald by the end of the day. Of, course we cached along the way. This is one of the caches we looked for.Despite accurate coordinates, it took us quite some time to locate this boldly hidden cache. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Nedandmrskelly for the cache - it earns a favourite from us.

Found during our Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure - a 33 day epic tour of Northern NSW and Outback Queensland finding many caches, attending great events and catching up with awesome Cachers along the way.Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure Day 26. After a fun night camping at Jericho with some fellow Cachers, we hit the road to finish another section of the Jericho Power Trail Road with Happy Feet 1. Once that was complete we parted company and we headed further east to the Alpha/Gemfields/Sapphire/Rubyvale region for another night stopover. We had a great night at the pub there. This was the next one on the list. Quickly found once at GZ. Signed as F65 and A33 as required. Replaced the cache as found, then we continued on our journey. Thanks to all the COs who put out these caches !!

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird (aka Mrs Geo). Grabbed the available caches around town. Loved this hide, a favourite point from me. It’s a great day for caching.

For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria

And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 134. The Gemfields to Alpha. It was quite chilly night in Sapphire at The Gemfields, so I was happy to be up and away. There were a few caches along the highway, but I was still in Alpha by Mid morning and set up along the Cemetery road near the truck parking area. A spent the rest of the middle of the day trying to find the remaining Alpha caches. I failed on two that seem to be missing and had to leave one till after closing time. I finished the day with a late dinner at the pub as they did not open till 18.30, and no locals came in at all while I was there.

I have had this cache on my list of DNFs for some time, so I was keen to find it today. I must say I made every effort not to see it, it fits in so well with the surrounds, but I did see it and check it eventually.

Thanks for the cache Nedandmrskelly

We are zig zagging our way north with micaparamedic, Papi4506 & Geoturtle37 and after staying at Blackall we are heading towards the Lab caches in Emerald via Barcaldine to grab a few solved puzzles there.

We were in Jericho for the 2018 QOGM event but took too long caching our way out here and didn't get time to clean up all the caches in town. Today we were hoping to rectify that and this was the first of the six we were looking for.

We pulled up here a little bit before the others and thought that we would have it in hand quickly. Just coming from the show grounds we went to an obvious location but that wasn't it and we were in the process of hunting in the second location when the others arrived. With this many eyes the cache was found very quickly in a place we had searched but unfortunately we had overlooked the obvious.

Many thanks for a nice little hide, the log book now contains our names.

We parked on the bitumen and walked in for this one. Mr Ski spent hours cleaning the car yesterday and with the large puddles and red mud after the rain, would rather clean his shoes than the car again! A clever hide that had us scratching our heads for a while
After five nights staying at the Showgrounds in Jericho overnight, and caching madly most days, we have hooked up the van again and are continuing our travels. A few days in Emerald where the car will be getting a service, and then who knows. That’s as far as our plans go.
Of course, we can’t just drive down a highway-not if there’s caches to be found. Great work by all the local CO’s for nicely breaking our journey with lots of lovely yellow smilies. Your efforts are appreciated, thank you all very much.

Day 10 of my road trip, travelling from Longreach to Emerald. There are a lot of caches to collect along the way, this afternoon I am collecting the Alpha caches.
I had to outwait a truck so I had the place to myself. A bit of a wander around, I settled on one focus area and soon found something different - turns out it was the cache! Log signed and cache replaced as found.
Thanks Nedandmrskelly for the cache and thank you to sandshoo3 for maintaining it.

Day ten of my outback Queensland trip and the plan today is to arrive in Emerald by night time, via the towns of Jericho, Alpha, Sapphire, Rubyvale and Anakie. Continuing with my challenges of a trad a day and a cache a day and collecting a few more for the day. I do have a list of caches that I do want to collect along the way and probably some extras as I see fit.

Caching on my own again and am enjoying the time and adventures that comes with that. Though most of the caches were easy finds, some did give me a smile and I saw some familiar name in the logs, was I following?

This cache was an easy find and in good condition. With the log signed and cache returned as found, it was onto the next one. Thank you for placing it here, I really enjoyed the drive around this area today.

We arrived in Alpha for an overnight stop on our annual trip around Qld. We had no idea if there were any geocaches here, and were pleasantly surprised to find this wonderful series placed by Nedandmrskelly. Thanks so much for your efforts in placing these caches for our enjoyment. This one had us SCREWED for a while, until we finally spied the odd one out on the structure. Grey Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.

Now travelling west towards Barcaldine for TheLongestLine (of RVs) World Guinness Record attempt. BRC is very proactive in gaining greynomads to visit. This is one of their attempts. Geocaching is another. This is one of many in the BRC for us to attempt.

As temengi would say "GOTCHA". We searched for this in the obvious, then the not so obvious. We have seen your caches in Yeppoon. We know you are sneaky. Ah! Gotcha!
Thanks Ned and Mrs Kelly.

Hi there Nedandmrskelly.

We found your cache **"Alpha 13"** at 10:45:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 20301).

We started the day off by nominating a cache near Alpha, and then took a route that was mostly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the area & ended up finding quite a variety of container types, and sizes hidden along our route.

We found 21 caches today & DNF'd 0. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels. We awarded this cache a favourite point for the ingenious camo.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards

Ian & Penny.

TFTC. We are camped at Jericho Showgrounds for a week. Today was a lovely day to go for a drive and attempt the many caches in Alpha. We dnf’d 3 aches and did not attempt another one due to muggles. All in all a great day.
We had to think outside the square for this. Linda came up trumps.

This day started out with picking up a few more of the Alpha series that either we did not pick up yesterday because of the muggle factor or we simply had not looked for it.

Oh wow this had me stumped for quite some time and without the luxury of having my phone handy to look back through logs I was flying blind looking for this cache. I hunted everywhere and expanded the search area just in case the coordinates weren't right. (Desperation)
I went back to GZ sure it just had to be here for another fruitless look and what's this? Something that totally looked like it belonged but actually didn't. Bingo!
