poked about not no cache today. maybe gone with the lawnmower. over flax Bush bashes.
A quick diversion from the main walkway, to find a nice pristine log book. This is a beautiful area, we wouldn't have known about but for geocaching.

#12,844. Parked on Gardenia Avenue in Bell Block, New Plymouth for a nice and short ramble. Fortunately, GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Found after a short search. The coordinates were good, but the last part of the additional hints needed to be slightly modified where we found it. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
Thanks for the placement, and for bringing us to this site, and …

The heart sinks a bit when you have to look in the flax - but this was a nice easy find. Cache is all good. TFTC
On our way back to the Mighty Waikato after an extended weekend stay in New Plymouth. This was one for the road as we left! TFTC
On a road trip down the west coast of the north island. Exploring and finding some geocaches along the way. TFTC.
My there’s a lot of flax here! Nice that this has lasted so well. We enjoyed a walk in a different area today. Tftc
An nice little cache. There have been some recent garden work and regrassing by Council right next to where the cache is and I initially wondered if it had been destroyed, but it has survived. Tftc.
Took my kids with me to kill some time and stay away from the public, keeping away from the Corona virus. Super cool
Out Geocaching in Bell Block. Cool spot to hide. Our 5th cache of the day. #168. TFTC.
(# 5663). A flying visit to Taranaki primarily to get the TMGT geotour caches. Day 1 was to drive from Wellington to Awakino then down to New Plymouth. A quick find. Everything in order. TFTC
I hate flax hunts. I also hate mechanism hunts, for much the same reason - they can often take forever, and there is a reasonable chance I will walk away disappointed. But here Taybeedragon and I found this one pretty quickly. Woohoo!
Merry Christmas!
It's Christmas Dai, day thirteen of Taybeedragon's and my big 3 week circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki, starting from Palmerston North. Today we are rummaging around New Plymouth.
Highlights:
* 3 weeks, 536 caches
* Mt Taranaki had been removed for washing, which was a bit of a shame. Even after it had been returned we were only allowed to see it for it was less than half an hour a day.
* High percentage of caches with crappy coordinates
* Amazing Pukekura Park
* AMAZING Pukekura Park light show!
* Pukeiti Gardens
* Lots of cache maintenance!

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](https://coord.info/GC87777) - you won't want to miss it!

Merry Christmas. Come for a Gardenia Ramble here. Quick find for a flax hunt here. Tagged. Cheers
Day 13- Merry Christmas, Wednesday 25 December. Around New Plymouth again today.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are spending Christmas exploring Taranaki via geocaching. Its been an amazing 3 week adventure. Rattls BBQ was a great event, meeting many other cachers. But also managed to fit in a few more events, especially New Years Day celebrating the start of 2020. Lots of caches - over 500. Lots of cache maintenance. Lots and lots of kilometers. And lots of amazing places visited along our journey. Mt Taranaki remained elusive for much of our travels and the caches on it at the top. Loved Pukekura Park Night Lights Show and the the Wooden Mechanical toy exhibition at NP Info centre.

This was my first full day in New Plymouth. I came from the opposite end as described in the hint, so it was the first place I came to. TFTC.

I'm in New Plymouth on a work trip for a couple of days. Some spare time to find a few caches as well. After work was done for the day, I had time to find a few more caches before I had to head back to my hotel. This cache was quite exposed so easily found. I tried to tuck it in a bit better. TFTC, Biggles.
Tftc my phone was flat but I had some notes written and was able to find this beauty without a gps
Found with Julius family. Logging now as I have my own account. We love caches where there are either lots of toys to swap or a playground nearby. TFTC
Another quick find on a cool evening. Girls had a quick play at the play ground then we headed home in the dark. Tftc
Found a while ago and forgot to log, however went hunting today with some kids and couldnt find!
